An obsidian sword based on a real life Aztec obsidian swords

    Posted: 29 Aug 2019 12:44 AM PDT

We ought to be able to craft an obsidian sword somewhat like an Aztec macuahuitl. The obsidian sword would be crafted from a Wooden Sword with 8 Obsidian blocks placed around it on a Crafting Table, as the real weapon uses a long wooden base (the wooden sword) to hold individual obsidian blades

The obsidian sword would have a slow attack speed, like 0.75, being rather large and unwieldly, and will have relatively poor durability (I'd say as much durability as a wooden sword) because the macuahuitl was known for dislodging and/or shattering its' replacable obsidian blades after repeated strikes (and when worn down to destruction, it becomes a simple wooden sword again). It should, however, be capable of very high damage; about as much as a diamond axe (or perhaps 0.5-1.5 hearts more), as obsidian blades in real life are some of the sharpest blades physically possible

Zombie villagers should not attack baby villagers.

This could perhaps be a way to show that they are still not fully corrupted and that they can still be saved, unlike regular zombies.

    The Food Update [Mega-Post]

    Posted: 29 Aug 2019 11:25 AM PDT

Hello and welcome to, the Food Update.

    The Issues:

    • The best foods in the game are relatively easy to get. (Cooked meats)

    • The most average foods in the game are more tedious to get than the best foods. (Cooked Fish, Pumpkin Pie)

    • Food is basically an early-game concern only. Mid-Late game you have enough, through sheer mass murder or mass farming, that its irrelevant.

    The Solutions:

My vision for the Food Update takes several cues from Pam's Harvest Craft, but simplified down to match Vanilla standards.

    • Easy to obtain items should have their Saturation return cut down heavily. This includes cooked meats, bread, raw and cooked vegetables, etc.

    • Fish should stay where it is. It has enough steps to obtain it that it being slightly above the other cooked meats is a good place balance-wise for it.

    • Golden Carrots, Gapples and God Gapples should stay where they are. Same with Suspicious Stew- it has its own niche.

    • New "Meal Tier" foods should be added that give a saturation effect when eaten. These meals should use other now nerfed foods as building blocks, giving the normal farmed items value still.

    • Stews of all kinds (bar suspicious) should be stackable up to 16. This is quality of life, as unstackable food is basically useless. Nobody bothers with them for this reason.

    Food and Meals:

Meals should be limited to just a few, don't go insane with it or it becomes a hassle, but every vanilla food item should have at least one meal its used in.

    • Sandwiches: Sandwiches use a bread and a meat, and have 8 Food, 10 Saturation. NOT A MEAL.

    • Stews: Beef and Potato Stew (using a cooked beef, a potato, and 2 carrots), Vegetable Stew (using 2 potatoes, 2 carrots, and 1 beetroot), and Rabbit Stew (using a cooked rabbit, 1 carrot and 1 potato) and have 10 Food, 12 Saturation. IS A MEAL.

    • Mushroom Stew should stay the same but with only 5 Saturation. NOT A MEAL.

    • Apple Pie: Should use 2 Apples, 2 sugar, 1 egg and 1 wheat, and have 7 Food 7 Saturation. IS A MEAL.

    • Pumpkin Pie: Should use 2 Pumpkins, 2 sugar, 1 egg, and 1 wheat, and have 8 Food, 7.5 Saturation. IS A MEAL.

    • Steak and Potatoes Dinner: Should use 1 steak and 2 cooked potatoes, and have 10 Food, 12 Saturation. IS A MEAL.

    • Roast Chicken Dinner: Should use 1 cooked chicken, 1 carrot and 2 beetroots, and have 8 Food, 10 Saturation. IS A MEAL.

    • Sushi: Should use 2 raw fish (any) and 3 dried kelp, and have 5 Food, 11.5 Saturation. IS A MEAL.

    • Salmon Dinner: Should use 1 cooked Salmon, 1 carrot, 1 sugar, and have 8 Food, 10 Saturation. IS A MEAL.

    • Carrot Cake: Should use 1 carrots, 2 sugar, 1 egg, 3 wheat, and 2 milk buckets, and have 2 Food, 0.6 Saturation per slice (working like a normal cake). After 7 slices (the whole cake) that equals 14 Food, 4.2 Saturation. NOT A MEAL.

    • Chocolate Cake: Should use 1 cocoa bean, 2 sugar, 1 egg, 3 wheat and 2 milk buckets, and have 2 Food, 0.7 Saturation per slice (working like a normal cake). After 7 slices (the whole cake ) that equals 14 Food, 4.9 Saturation. NOT A MEAL.

    • Berry Pudding: Should use 3 sweet berries, 2 sugar, and a bowl, and have 8 Food, 10 Saturation. IS A MEAL.

    Meal Bonus:

Foods marked as a meal have a 20% chance of giving an additional Saturation potion effect when eaten lasting several seconds- enough to give an extra 4-6 saturation.

    Extras:

    • I would make a honey roll food item, that using 1 bottle of honey, 2 wheat and 2 sugar and gives 6 Food, 8 Saturation plus a short Speed 1 buff. NOT A MEAL.

    • I would make Popped Chorus a food item with slightly better Food than normal Chorus Fruit, (Say, 5 Food, 2.5 Saturation). Also it wouldn't teleport you. Basically a way for those in the End with no food to harvest and eat safely with a fuel cost.

    • I would add an effect called Food Poisoning, which works like a Nausea-Hunger combo that you get for eating rotten or raw meats, to further incentivise cooking.

Redstone lamps should dim for when the redstone signal is weaker.

    Posted: 29 Aug 2019 02:53 AM PDT

It makes no sense how a weak redstone signal makes a bright bulb, so I suggest redstone lamps can come with different levels of light, it could be interesting and could be great for maps and lighting systems..

Also, you can still achieve maximum brightness easily with this anyways since you have redstone repeaters, torches, etc.

So I'd like to see this in the next minecraft update! :D

Bees that spawn in savvanah biomes are killer bees!

    Posted: 29 Aug 2019 03:33 PM PDT

They will swarm anything that comes within 10 blocks of their bee nest. Killer bees will always have red eyes, even if targetting nothing. They will follow players holding flowers but also attack them.

The benefits of killer bees is that they work faster. They move faster, spend more time seeking flowers and spend less time in their nest.

Cats lay on lecterns equipped with books

    Posted: 29 Aug 2019 02:49 PM PDT

If you have ever tried to read a book near a cat, you will know that Kitteh will not let you do it. They'll lay on your hands, lay on the book, and shove their face in your face.

To add to the annoying realism that cats currently posses, cats should lay on lecterns that are equipped with books. They're already doing it to chests & beds, so why not lecterns?

    Nether Weapon: Bident

    Posted: 29 Aug 2019 01:57 PM PDT

So you are like: What even is a bident? Answer: A pitchfork thats very long, sharp and deadly.

It can be thrown for 9 DMG and can melee strike for 10 DMG.

Deadlier than a trident, but rarer.

Texture: It looks like a trident, but has a red handle instead of blue, and the two prongs are still white.

Where to find: Every 5 minutes in a nether fortress, a wither skeleton holding this deadly weapon has a 0.1 chance of spawning and it WILL keep on increasing every 5 minutes by 0.1 percent and will not stop increasing until a wither skeleton with a bident spawns, which will reset the percentage. The drop rate is 5% and increase by 2.5% per looting level, maxing out at 12.5% chance

The bident of course, should have its own hell / fire themed enchantments. I am absolutely not letting mojang take this weapon and just give it the same enchantments of the trident, although it should be able to have impaling and loyalty, other enchantments MUST BE FIRE THEMED for me to approve of the idea being added, and I won't approve of the bident not being able to take the tridents enchantments and also not have fire themed enchantments. If the bident idea makes it to minecraft, so should its fire themed enchantments. Take it, or leave it.

Edit: I'm loving all the enchanting ideas, but if we check how many enchantments that are exclusive to the trident, we get 4, which means this Bident can 4 enchantments PLUS loyalty, which increases the enchantments that belong to the bident to 5.

Here are the enchantments I WANT to make it in game.

Scorching: The bident is now on fire and if you melee attack a mob, it sets them on fire, and if you throw it, the blocks the bident fly above are also set on fire. An Idea of AlexSteckLines.

Empaling I-V: Counterpart of Impaling, only works on mobs that are on fire or are in lava OR are in the nether. An Idea of Saulgods.

Precision I-II: Decreases the drop of the trident and bident, since its shared between both of them it doesn't count as the enchantments exclusive to the bident. Idea of AlexSteckLines.

Nether Lord: Combination of two ideas, an idea of mine and an idea of Saulgods, this turns you trident into a weapon that shoots fireballs, and shift right-clicking will send a pulse that goes 20 blocks around you, turning up to 15 neutral not aggresive pig men into mobs who fight with you for 1 minute, and makes any aggressive mobs return to neutral, AKA: endermen, pigmen, dolphins, wolves, bees (1.15 snapshot has bees) and other neutral mobs.

Firestorm: Whenever it strikes a magma block, it sets flammable blocks and nether blocks in a 5x5x5 area on fire, and also sets fire to any mob in the radius including players, but it doesn't set the caster on fire if they threw it on a magma block near them.

There we go, 4 unique enchantments for the bident, the rarity of each enchantment can be determined by the game developers if the idea makes it.

    Fireflies

    Posted: 29 Aug 2019 03:29 PM PDT

With the next update getting rid of bad bugs, along the way why not add a bug everyone can enjoy, fireflies!

Fireflies are a small, passive mob that can spawn in forest and planes biomes. They have 2 health points. They also prefer being around tall grass.

A kea feature for fireflies is that you can collect them in a bottle, you can release them by right clicking in the air with the bottle in your hand. You can also place that bottle on the ground. The more fireflies you have, the higher the light level the bottle will emit. There will of corse be a limit on the amount of fireflies you can collect in one bottle.

If you break the placed bottle then all the fireflies will be set free and fly away, however if you have an item with silk touch then you will get the bottle back along with all the fireflies.

    Posted: 29 Aug 2019 04:54 AM PDT

They spawn in swamps and you can fish there eggs with a fishing rod, there babies only live in the water and will evolve until they can walk on land, they could jump over 1 Block high fences and quak in the morning, when it's night time they could go to lily pads and rest.

Two New Potions: Potions of Enticement and Warding!

    Posted: 29 Aug 2019 03:10 PM PDT

The new Bottle of Honey item doesn't have much of a purpose at the moment. The honey can be consumed, but with the inability to stack them, they can't be relied on too much. I figured this provided a great opportunity to introduce two new potions, granting two previously pointless items, the honey bottle and rotten flesh, a reason to be sought out.

    Potion of Enticement

This potion would be brewed with a Nether Wart and a Bottle of Honey. Initially lasting for 4 minutes, adding Redstone Dust to the potion would increase its duration to 10 minutes. It would draw the attention of animals within a 12 block radius, without the need to carry food. This radius would double for bees and the various bear types, resulting in a radius of 24 blocks. These numbers would multiply by 1.83x when Glowstone Dust is added, resulting in a radius of 44 for bees and bears, and 22 for other animals. The duration time, however, would decrease to 1 minute and 50 seconds.

    Potion of Warding

This potion would be brewed with just Rotten Flesh, no Nether Wart. Initially lasting for 5 minutes, adding Redstone Dust would increase this duration to 10 minutes. It would ward animals within 8 blocks of the user away, despite whether or not the user carries food. Villagers will keep 6 blocks away from and will refuse to trade with the user. Undead mobs within 60 blocks would be attracted to the user, while witches, arthropods, and slime variants within 24 blocks gain interest. Adding Glowstone Dust results in a repulsion radius of 16 blocks for animals and 12 blocks for villagers, along with an attraction radius of 110 for undead mobs and 44 for witches, arthropods, and slime variants. The duration time would be decreased to 2 minutes and 20 seconds.

    Pros

    • Could provide new methods for farms and grinders
    • Provides an easier, mid-game way to herd animals
    • Gives two almost pointless items a new purpose
    • Fun way to mess with other players

    Cons

    • Could make larger, late-game farms easier to create earlier
    • Could have to be produced at a large scale to be useful in some farms

If you like this suggestion, please give it support on the Feedback site !

    Dog breeds

    Posted: 29 Aug 2019 08:10 AM PDT

Having the ability to have different dog breeds in Minecraft. Possible ways it could be implemented: 1. Stray dogs being added to the game and having the potential to find various breeds of dogs 2. At the second or third generation you can start getting randomly a dog breed If you breed two tamed wolves 3. Different breeds could be recessive and doesn't pop up when you breed two different breeds together or dominant where when you breed them, it will be the dominant breed

These are just some possible ideas of how it could be implemented, if you come up with more ideas then please comment them. I will add ones I like to the list

What is this odd looking sword?

    Posted: 29 Aug 2019 03:22 PM PDT

Scimitar: This sword is like any regular sword, but it has its differences...

Damage: Same as its sword counterpart

Material: It can be made out of wood, gold, stone, iron and diamond.

Crafting recipe: A stick in the bottom middle, an iron ingot in the middle left and middle right, any material that you want in the exact center of the crafting table, and a material diagonally above the exact center (left or right, it doesn't make any difference)

What is special about it: It has a much larger and more damaging sweep than the sword, and sweeping edge III doesn't work on this sword anymore because of how large the sweep already is, instead it has its own exclusive enchantment called Sharper Sweeping which increases the sweeping damage with every level (I-II-III). However, this sword suffers from decreased range due to how curved the blade is.

    Posted: 29 Aug 2019 01:50 PM PDT

Birds like pidgeons, sparrows, and the great tit (i swear to god that is a real bird) they all drop feathers like chickens and drop bird meat, that meat can be cooked and eaten but, the bird meat can also be made into a stew, like rabbit stew, but instead of rabbit meat you get bird meat. Can be breeded with seeds and cats will try to catch them. The pidgeons can carry massages to other pidgeons as a mail system
