About Elkia Elkia SMP is a friendly, Vanilla Survival Minecraft server. Our idea of a server is a Mindcrack/Hermitcraft-esque group. We are a whitelisted community to keep the community small and happy. Being a community oriented place, we have meetups every Wednesday where we might work on a large project, participate in an event, or play something completely different. Project Nebula is a community created by /u/Colinator007 and myself. We started our new map about two weeks ago and are excited with the community we've been building up! However, we'd like to be upfront and say that 1.14 performance is still not very good. We've done the best we can to optimize the server, like disabling intensive datapacks and running PaperMC to assist chunk loading. The reality is that 1.14 has greatly improved performance since launch, but is still running slower than a 1.13 server would! Just thought we'd be transparent about it :) Looks like 1.14.4 will be fixed a huge CPU issue that improved performance greatly quite a bit, though! About Us Colin and I are college students looking to play with new people! We're both engineering students and love to fiddle with redstone and farms. Apart from hacking, cheating, spamming, and the like... it's pretty much complete freedom to do whatever your little rat heart desires. Our 3 main features include: RANDOM SPAWNWhen you join for the first time you'll spawn in a random location in the world. This can be anywhere from +29,999,981 to -29,999,981 x/z. When you die you'll also respawn in another random location in the world, unless of course you've slept in a bed... so you should try and do that as soon as possible! NO COORDINATESThe debug screen (F3) info is greatly reduced, and your XYZ coordiantes aren't displayed. Neither you nor anyone else knows where you are. You're also likely many millions of blocks away from the nearest player! RAT PORTALSTo counteract these difficulties, we've got the incredible power of Rat Portals! Based off SnowGear's Color Portals, these nifty structures can be built by players and are used to connect one distant location to another. These are one of Ratcraft's most essential features! They're also the only feasible way to find friends or foes when starting out. Our Core Philosophophiesprivacy – players don't have to worry about being found or griefed by others if they stick to their random spawn area. Other players are very likely many millions of blocks away. lostness – having no coordinates makes people lose their bearing on the world. It is a small server with about 7-8 active players. Our reset was 2 months ago so the map is still quite fresh. There's no a whole lot done yet - We killed the Enderdragon about 3 weeks ago and we just created our first mob farm. The reason we made a server, after joining many in the past, is because we seem to always end up with irresponsible server owners that either become paranoid and ban people, or disappear with the server one day with no explanation. We hope to break that curse and make a nice environment for Minecrafters. --The Rules-- Players must be mature. PvP allowed, if both parties agree. Pranks allowed, but grief and outright stealing is not. Buildings must be aesthetically pleasing. There is no other specific rules for buildings besides that we want them to be neat to the eye and that designs should match nearby buildings. Build at least 500 blocks away from spawn. No cheating, of course. --Plans for the future-- We aim to get a small community of people to play minecraft in a mature environment while making nice builds everyone can be proud of. Currently we have 1-2 people on at most time, and hope to reach a stable 3-4. I don't know if I haven't said enough, I'm sorry, I'm really just tired of all the huge 500+ player servers where you can't do anything as an individual. I don't really care too much about small mods, but anything that makes my startup time over 5 minutes is gonna have to be really compelling. edit: basically, I want a server with a code of honor. We are currently starting season two of our whitelisted vanilla server, and applications are now open. Our main focus is to create something big and watch the world come together as we make friends, and do amazing things as a community. Although the world cannot come together without our wonderful friendly active players. Most server decisions are made by the members and is not staff driven. RULES No Griefing Or Stealing Don't Be Rude Or Disrespectful Don't Build On Other People's Builds Without Permission No Hacking or Exploiting Keep The World Looking As Nice As Possible (This means cut down all of the tree, fill in creeper holes, etc) Don't Build Your Personal Building Too Close To Spawn, Try To Keep Bases At Least 1000 Blocks Away Make sure you give other people's bases and projects lots of space When making stores don't sell everything!! Give other people business too Try to keep afk farms to a minimum to keep the game balanced Be Mature and have fun! [Minigames] {PVP} {Whitelist} Posted: 09 Aug 2019 07:46 AM PDT Hi Everyone, I have developed an entirely custom minigame/gamemode and need help beta testing it. Participating players will receive the BETA rank free of charge. The minigame is called Prestige Wars (PW). It will initially launch with only team death match but CTF, FFA, etc will come in later updates. Players are divided into two teams (blue and red) and battle each other in our awesome selection of maps. Objective The objective in TDM is to kill as many players as you can without getting killed yourself. Every time a player kills another player, or wins a game, they get coins in which they can use to upgrade their loadout. Your loadout is the items you spawn with each time you join the game or respawn after being killed. When you first join the server, your initial loadout is leather armor, a wooden sword, and 10 apples. As you play and earn coins, you can upgrade your armor, weapons, food, purchase potions, and other items. Prestige System Once you upgrade your armor and weapon to all diamond, you have the option to prestige. Ranking up to the next level of prestige gains you access to new potions and items. However, when you prestige, your armor and sword go back to leather and wood. This keeps the gameplay competitive. There are a total of 10 levels of prestige until you hit "Master Prestige", which unlocks everything. Matchmaking The system creates balanced teams based on each player's loadout and prestige level. Beta Testing We will be opening the server to beta testing on Saturday, August 17th, 2019 at 1PM EST. Spawn was designed and layed out by 2 of our community members, Sunfire and ArtfulMishap, they did an amazing job. Right now we will be opening Applications for the server every Friday. We are looking for longterm Community members, good builders, and active players. We have a shopping district where you can reserve a shop plot to make your shop. We have a parkour course/shop in a giant tree at spawn built by another Community volunteer, Kursze, its awesome and one of the best parts of spawn. Currently, we are working on 2 community projects, the nether hub and a minigame zone. We are setting up a weekly community day on Sundays where its time to take a break from your personal projects and time to work on the community ones. :3 we have a very active community with lots of really cool people to hang with!
