Similar to maps, clocks take up all the space on the block if placed on a display frame Posted: 30 Aug 2019 05:49 AM PDT I always thought framed clocks looked a little weird, but if they occupied all the space it would make them better in builds that require clocks. [link] [comments]
If a shield, sword, or tool is in your inventory, it shows up on your back Posted: 30 Aug 2019 03:26 AM PDT Pretty simple, there would be a new inventory slot that you could put a shield, sword, tool, or even shulker box. The new slot would be on the opposite side of the off hand slot. This would have functionality as well, being if the sword or tool breaks then the one on your back will go into your hand. If it's a shield, it would still act as a shield and protect you from behind. Raising a shield in your off/non off hand (not sure who doesn't put their shield in their off hand but to each their own) while one is on your back makes for a sort of turtle maneuver, but keep in mind that your sides are still exposed. Also, is that the right flair for this? [link] [comments]
Wither Skeletons drop a Wither Sword instead of a Stone sword Posted: 30 Aug 2019 09:58 AM PDT It makes no sense for Wither Skeletons have a stone sword in the Nether. I think it should instead be replaced with a new sword, called the Wither Sword. The Wither Sword would look like it's made of quartz or some other nether material, and it would have the same damage as stone sword, but it would also give the Wither status effect to your opponent. It would be only dropped by the wither skeletons, and couldn't be crafted by the player. [link] [comments]
Enchanted bone meal and giant plants Posted: 30 Aug 2019 05:03 AM PDT Somehow inspired by https://www.reddit.com/r/minecraftsuggestions/comments/cwtbv1/grapes_and_trellises/ this post on grapes. No idea what mental pathways caused that. The main crafting station for this is the Mortar and Pestle. Crafted using a cauldron, two stone of any polished variant, and a piston (it is an automatic mortar and pestle), you can create this new crafting station, used to crush items. The more items are in the input, the slower they are each crushed. The Mortal and Pestle can be used to create bone meal, obtaining four from one bone, but it can also be used to crush a variety of other materials. Wood logs become Sawdust (a highly flammable, gravity enabled block), Sandstone becomes Sand, and so on. In addition, crushing Lapis Lazuli can get Lapis Lazuli Powder. Creating Lapis Lazuli Powder costs 100 experience, and the powder glows. Combining 1 Lapis Lazuli Powder with 8 Bone Meal creates 9 Enchanted Bone Meal, which has dark blue streaks and glows faintly. Right-clicking the ground with it will fully grow any plants in a 3*3 square. Coarse dirt in this area becomes Dirt, while Dirt becomes Grassy Dirt. Combining 8 Enchanted Bone Meal with a seed item for any plant, such as seeds for wheat, sweet berries for sweet berry bushes, and saplings for trees, will make a Giant's Seed for that plant. A Giant's Seed can be placed on dirt. Giant's Seeds will never grow on their own, and require 5-6 Enchanted Bone Meal to grow into the resulting giant plant. Wheat stalks are the size of oak trees, Sweet Berry Bushes are the size of those rare larger oak trees, Pumpkins are 16*16, and trees have a 16-block trunk while keeping their proportions. Giant's Trees are essentially much larger trees, except for the fact that they may drop Giant Apples. The outside of Giant Pumpkins and Giant Melons are made of Gourd Shell Blocks, which can be cleared with an axe and used for decoration. The inside are make of Pumpkin Pulp and Melon Pulp blocks respectively, which are mined with a shovel, and can be right-clocked when placed on the ground to eat them. Mining them with a shovel instead gives 8 Pulp Balls, which can be eaten to restore 4 hunger and 8 saturation, or thrown to temporarily discolor the ground. Giant Apples take up a full inventory slot, and can be placed, taking up a full block. On the ground, they can be right-clicked with an axe, extracting a Giant Apple Slice, of which they have 16. Giant Apple Slices stack up to 16, and restore 8 hunger and no saturation when eaten. Giant Apples can also be made golden with Gold Blocks, granting Golden Giant Apple Sliced when chopped, which give full hunger and saturation, though no status effects. Wheat has a 1-block-thick stalk made of Wheat Logs, with the leaves made of Wheat Tuft Blocks, which give 5-7 Wheat when broken. If broken with Shears, they can be collected and placed, or cooked in a furnace. Cooking them in a furnace and placing 3 of the resulting Giant Dough Balls in a crafting table creates Giant Bread Dough, which can be crafted into a Giant Bread Loaf. This can be placed on the ground and eaten. It lasts for 8 eats, each giving 4 hunger and 4 saturation. Other food crops continue in the same vein. [link] [comments]
Make it so Lily Pads face the direction you place them. Posted: 30 Aug 2019 10:02 AM PDT Make them face the way you place them, like a piston or a stair block. It's a simple change, but one that would help out builders. I don't know why this change hasn't happened already. [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Aug 2019 07:08 AM PDT Just like zombie variants, wolves should take different forms when spawned in different biomes. I suggest four, slightly different dog breeds. -Gray Wolves could spawn in snowy biomes. They would be the classic wolf that we already have. They could have an increased foot speed, but lower damage. -Brown Wolves could spawn in deciduous forests, like oak and birch. They would be the classic wolf texture, with a brown coloration instead of gray. They could have increased damage output, but lower speed. -Painted Wolves could spawn in the Mesa/Badlands biomes. They would be broken with white and black marks on their bodies. They could lowered stats, but could give the player a permanent minor strength boost when within 10 blocks of them. A less serious idea would be the addition of an uber-wolf of sorts: -Dire Wolves could spawn in dark oak forests. They would be horse-sized, with black fur and white eyes. They would be incredibly rare, but would have higher speed, strength, and damage output, and could wear horse armor. They could only be tamed with wither skeleton skulls, but it would be an automatic tame. Alternatively, they could all gave the same stats and just be different textures, but that's a little boring in my opinion. [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Aug 2019 03:38 AM PDT Let's face it, the normal world of minecraft has biomes, mines, dungeons to explore Whilst the End has end city's you can loot. But i personally believe the nether hasn't gotten much attention in a long time, by that I mean not much new stuff has been added to make it all that useful. I mean come on, you go there, find a few blaze rods for eyes of ender, maybe find a few skulls for the wither, but other than that, the nether is only really used for quarts that are tedious to get and tether castles which have pretty much stayed the same since the nether was first introduced to minecraft! So I believe a minecraft nether update is needed. First, I feel like the nether could have more ores in it, at the moment, quarts are the only ore in the nether and too be fair are extremely tedious to get. So I say a couple more ores should be added. Maybe gold? Zombie pigmen do have gold swords, hell even if obsidian is added in chunks around the nether I feel as if that would still keep the immersion aspect of the nether. Any other suggestions for ores I would be delighted to respond to in comments. Now let's move onto actually exploring the nether. We have nether castles, fair, but they've been around for ages, we need something new. Let's look at the aquatic update for some inspiration, the seabed is now riddled with ruins, shipwrecks, etc. So why not add crumbled, cobblestone/ nether brick ruins to scatter around the nether? If we make them out of cobblestone, it will give us a hint as to why wither skeletons have stone swords. Dungeons could also be a fun thing to add into the walls of the nether, we already have spawners in the nether for blazes so why not have them for wither skeletons and place them in dungeons and ruins? Any other suggestions I will gladly respond to in the comments. So please correct me if I'm incorrect on anything in this post, I will attempt to respond to as many of you as I possibly can, I hope you feel the same way about the nether that I do. Edit: I understand the nether is also used as a means of transportation for some players but that's not my point in this post, i mean actually having a few more reasons to stay in the nether [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Aug 2019 02:32 PM PDT The mace would be crafted using a stick in the bottom middle, an iron block in the center, and 3 iron ingots around the iron block. It's durability would be 3 times as much as an iron sword (you are after all using a block of iron to make it) and the damage should be the same as a diamond sword. It's swing speed would be half a swords swing speed (3 ticks). Enchantments Crushing Blow 1-5: each level does extra damage to armor (pretty much degrades armor faster) and does extra damage to the mob/player. Tier 1: 2 times damage to armor, increases damage to mob/player by 1/2 heart. Tier 2: 3 times damage to armor, increases damage to mob/player by 1 heart. Tier 3: 4 times damage to armor, increases damage to mob/player by 1 1/2 heart. Tier 4: 5 times damage to armor, increases damage to mob/player by 2 heart. Tier 5: 6 times damage to armor, increases damage to mob/player by 2 1/2 hearts. Heavy Strike 1-3: increases passive knockback Tier 1: increases knockback by 50% Tier 2: increases knockback by 75% Tier 3: increases knockback by 100% [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Aug 2019 04:24 AM PDT Butterflies should be in Minecraft as a way to add to the air animals. It would be cool when you killed them you had a chance to get butterfly wings and use them as an alternative to repair your elytra. And dogs will chase them. Also every like 10 in game days you will see them fly in hordes. You would also be abbey to tame them with leaves. [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Aug 2019 03:20 PM PDT Recently Mojang has been making Minecraft feel more alive with alot of new additions, Bamboo Forests, Foxes, Bees, Pandas Etc. But there are is a part of the world that i want updated, representing the feeling that you are the only one of you're kind in the world, we already have one structure related to this concept, Destroyed Ships, feeling like a population of people existed before you came to this world is the point that im trying to make. Here is where my idea comes into play [Dead Forest] This Idea is based on my wish to see the remains of a destroyed society The Dead Forest will be a new biome that is basically a alternative version of the forest with a dead theme, in this biome villages whould not spawn to make it feel more alone and dead. Instead of Villages we could get Abandoned Village and Abandoned House, a village and houses found just abandoned with dirt growing on it and with walls destroyed down, most probably in the houses you could found a few items like swords, Shields, Armor and other objects that can be used by the player, to balance the rewards out, Abandoned Houses whould appear more then abandoned villages and the houses whould have has good rewards has the villages, another thing is that spawners most likely whould appear around the house or under the house so there is more of a challenge then just walking up to the house and grabbing all the loot Other thing that makes the biome more thematic is new mobs, obviously the normal mods whould spawn, Zombies and skeleton mainly, but it whould make sense to make wither skeletons spawn on dead forests since with the theme it makes a lot of sense. has a new mod we could see Wither Slimes, this idea is pretty simple but maybe a bit cute, the idea is a black slime that if hit by the slime it will give the wither effect, nice and simple, the wither slime whould drop black slime balls that whould be used to make wither slime blocks, it whould act like a combo of the magma block and the cobweb, deal damage with the wither effect if you step on it and slow you down if you are walking on it. I Have alot of more Ideas for this New Biome but the post is kinda big already. if you want you can leave you're ideas in the comments if you want and i will try to respond to most of the comments [link] [comments]
Add Death from Minecraft Volume Alpha as a numbered music disc. Posted: 30 Aug 2019 09:05 AM PDT Odd how 11 and 13 are the only recordings in what seems to be some sort of weird documentation of something in parts. I don't want all the parts, that would ruin the fun. Death also sounds like some sort of a recording. Despite the name, it's really not all that eerie, especially when compared to 11 and 13 nor is it mysterious. You can clearly hear it is simply the recorder hunting a chicken with a bow and retrieving the drops. It could be a much earlier recording, maybe disc 2, 3 or 4. It just seems obvious and I find it odd it was never added. It seems 11 is the recorder trying to light a Nether portal trying to escape something and 13 seems that the recorder is in a cave probably mining, both are relatively normal things to do in Minecraft so it would be neat to hear that not everything the mysterious recorder encountered was traumatizing... I guess unless they're vegan or something. [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Aug 2019 02:44 PM PDT The latest snapshot centres around bugs, both literal and technical. Although the addition of passive bugs such as butterflies, moths, etc. would create a more lively experience, ants stand out as a must-have mob. First, when considering the amount of a particular kind of organism by their collective mass, the collective mass of all ants (all species of ants together) is vastly larger than that of humans (and most, if not all, other kinds of life). So as a matter of mere representation, it would make perfect sense to have ants. Second, stumbling across an ants' nest when venturing through a forest, or watching a group of ants walk past you carrying potatoes above them (because they're actually very strong), would add to the ambience of whatever biome you're in. Third, given the countless different species of ants, there is a lot of opportunity for biome-specific species. Moreover, not all of these species have to be passive, as reflected by reality. Fire ants, for example, could harm you if you touch one — and if you upset them buy hitting one, all surrounding fire ants could attack you. Fourth, they could be both positive and negative in terms of farming. Negatively, they could steal your crops and head off with them. Positively, you could use them to harvest your crops by giving them only a singular path to travel on wherein the floor of the path is made of hoppers that have a chance of picking up the items held by the ants, making them useful for users of redstone. This last point, coupled with the function of villagers and now bees with agriculture, would complete the circle: villagers can replant crops, bees can fertilize them like bonemeal does, and ants could harvest them (whether or not that is advantageous or disadvantageous to you). Fifth, and what is most interesting to those of us who prefer builds rather than redstone, ant farms would be a lovely way to decorate a home. [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Aug 2019 10:58 AM PDT It has been a long time since Strongholds have gotten an update, or any improvements. Most players just think of it as a boring obstacle to get to the End Portal, but I think that there should be much more cool elements to a Stronghold, they should have much more diverse rooms, and Strongholds should generate last in a world, so that way, it won't be broken up by surrounding caves and other structures. Think about all the cool rooms that Strongholds can have, currently, we just have prisons, and libraries. We could have: Barracks Painting rooms, with multiple paintings covering the walls Dining halls Rare broken Nether Portal rooms, with patches of Netherrack and soul-sand covering the floor Aquarium rooms with brewing stations. Tree-growing rooms Maybe something even more strange and abstract like Alters and indoor deserts. [link] [comments]
Delayed Potions: A use for thick potions Posted: 30 Aug 2019 07:47 AM PDT We've had the Thick and Mundane potions for a while. I've been thinking about something to do with them. This is the only thing I could come up with. Thick Potions - DelayedThick potions can now be used with more potion ingredients to produce a "Thick [Effect] Potion". Thick Potions will always be delayed by a few seconds. You may continuously add Organic Matter (Seen below) to increase the Delay by a few seconds.
What counts as Organic Matter? In real life, you can thicken drinks by using fillers and many other substances. These items are organic matter: *Milk *Any type of seeds (However, it takes 64) *Sugar Cane *Berries *Bamboo *Kelp *Potato *Carrot *Bonemeal UsesIs there any practical application for this? Well, combat and exploration. In Combat, people pre-gapple in order to obtain absorption. Instead, they could delay an instant healing or regeneration. Heck, even strength. You currently aren't able to apply potion effects near fights. If you want to swim and you know you have a delayed potion, you can drink it and dive. You can swim down until you lose breath, the potion activates, and you can continue swimming an extra couple of blocks compared to if you hadn't drank anything. If you're running past several mobs but you're in a current safe space, you can splash yourself with a potion effect that will activate when you're in the danger zone. [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Aug 2019 01:52 PM PDT Basically, enchantment for weapons (swords, bows, tridents, etc.). When you attack a mob (maybe only hostile mobs?) you drain a percentage of the attack damage you have dealt (after reductions) as a health capped at some point, e.g.:

A new weapon, the bamboo staff Posted: 30 Aug 2019 03:11 PM PDT Bamboo staff This would be crafted similar to the bamboo spear, except replacing the sharpened bamboo with regular bamboo. The bamboo staff would do the same damage as a wooden sword, but would be one of the fastest melee weapons, being capable of swinging 2 times as fast as swords. New enchantment for the bamboo staff Stiffness 1-5: increases damage by 1 1/2 hearts, tier 2, 3, 4, and 5 increase damage by 1/2 heart, and tier 3, 4, and 5 will reduce it's swing speed Tier 1: increases damage by 1 1/2 heart. Tier 2: increases damage by 2 hearts. Tier 3: increases damage by 2 1/2 hearts, reduces swing speed by 2 ticks (swings 2/3 faster than swords). Tier 4: increases damage by 3 hearts, reduces swing speed by 4 ticks (swings 1/3 faster than swords). Tier 5: increases damage by 3 1/2 hearts, reduces swing speed by 6 ticks (same swing speed as swords). I would appreciate any feedback, constructive criticism, that could improve this post. Posted: 30 Aug 2019 08:03 AM PDT IntroductionNow everybody is asking for cave updates, and guess what? We got... B E E S . . . So I thought we could get a sky update as there is literally nothing that happens up there, as well as a few weather changes, mobs and more. Hope you enjoy. Weather ChangesNew clouds would be awesome as it would add more realism to the skies. My image of the new clouds is one that has most likely been suggested, but I'd like to change it up a bit. The cloud would look like blocky formations instead of just those rectangular prisms. These would look almost like the extreme hills biomes, with their massive formations and waves could be formed as well. There would be different cloud formations on each day. Here are the main ones:
The rain, storm and thunderstorm clouds would all have effects that I will talk about now, and that is the effect of turbulence. When passing through these clouds with an elytra, you would be tossed around a bit. For rain clouds, you would only be tossed about say a few blocks. In storm clouds, you could be thrown off to the side by an amount of 1 - 15 blocks away. And you should just pray you don't fly through thunderstorm clouds. You have the chance to be thrown up, down, left or right by a whopping 25 blocks, and also your elytra will disable for multiple instances. If you are too slow to realise you are falling then you'll have that horrible death screen greet your gaze. Next we have the addition of gusts of wind. Now I already talked about turbulence, but this is different. Gusts of wind wouldn't toss you about, they would simply and gently drag you into an almost current like gust of wind, propelling you by doubling your elytra speed. The only time this could get bad, is if it were in a storm, or a thunderstorm. These gusts of wind would act similar to turbulence, throwing you all about the place, seriously damaging your elytra. Night Sky Changes and Blood MoonsThe night sky is currently boring and bland. To spice things up a bit we have the addition of constellations. These would be in the shape of any mob at random. Also clusters of purple and stars could form galaxies that would occasionally appear in the night. But the most important of all, the Blood Moon. The moon will turn read every 5 full moon cycles. The sky will turn red from the top and then be shaded down to black, and when it is raining the rain will turn red and the clouds will turn bright red. More importantly, mob spawn rates are doubled and they each do 2 more damage (1 heart). All neutral mobs in the vicinity (Only the ones that are considered monsters) will also turn aggressive. Also as a minor change, wolves will now howl at the full moon, including Blood Moons. Also in snowy biomes (not including extreme hills/mountains biome) auroras would occasionally occur, brightening up the landscape during the night. New Mobs
Cloud TempleThe skies have nothing. No buildings, no nothing. This temple would grace the skies over any biome, but be at least 1000 blocks away from the original spawnpoint. This temple would be made out of marble. The cloud that it is resting on would be made out of cloud blocks. In the chests there would be potions of levitation, Phoenix feathers and other random items like diamonds, diamond armour and tools and enchantment books. This could spawn from Y 200 - 250. MarbleThis raw marble would spawn in small chunks when mining in extreme hills/mountains biomes. When put in a furnace, it will become normal marble. Then when 9 are put in a crafting bench it becomes smooth marble. Then that can be used to make pillars, stairs, slabs, bricks and chiselled variants. As a side note, these blocks are dyeable for any colour (literally). You can mix multiple dyes and have it slapped onto the block which makes building much more varied. The crafting for the pillars, stairs, slabs and chiselled variants would be the same as quartz but for the bricks it would be a 2x2 square. Elytra ChangesElytra are good, but they can be better. Introducing, Elite Elytra. This elytra would be crafted with 8 feathers and 1 elytra in the middle of the crafting bench, you can make this item. This elytra's speed is increased by 25%, making it super fast. Also it now has 862 durability, which is double the amount of the original elytra. Also, elytra can now be worn without having to remove a chestplate. NestsBirds would live in trees, right, but what would make them more realistic looking would be adding nests into the game. It would be crafted with 5 sticks in a minecart shape to make a bird's nest. This would have the same texture as a coral fan except it would be a brownish beige colour. Birds would lay their eggs here but there is more. When crafted with three Phoenix feathers in a bowl shape and then 2 sticks in the corners of that shape you can make a Phoenix nest. When placed it will look similar to a red/fire coral fan, and a Phoenix egg can be placed inside. Phoenix EggsWhen dropped from a Phoenix and after crafting a Phoenix nest, you can get a pet Phoenix. Once the Phoenix egg is placed, it will take 25 minutes for the egg to hatch, and then the Phoenix will follow you around. Like other Phoenix', if they die they aren't really gone. They will be consumed by flames before an ash pile appears. Wait 10 minutes and your Phoenix will be reborn but if you named it before, its name tag will be gone. ConclusionI hope you enjoyed my ideas on how to improve the skies of Minecraft. Let me know if there is anything I missed and let me know your opinions in the comments! Ideas from u/LucasVadarPlayz and u/ImaFeesh. Thank you. [link] [comments]

My take on a highly suggested mob: Grizzly Bears Posted: 29 Aug 2019 07:39 PM PDT Grizzly bears are a fairly popular mob suggestion already, but here's my take on how they could fit in the game best with the 1.15 update. As most people already know, Polar Bears and Panda Bears were added quite recently in order to spread awareness of them. Grizzly Bears in particular are sadly becoming endangered, and certain variations have even gone completely extinct. I believe a tribute to the powerful animal would fit right in among the other bears. Most bears that live within forests in real life will attempt to get honey from beehives, and this concept could fit right in to Minecraft with the addition of bees in the update. Bees would be hostile to bears, possibly scaring them away. If a bee hive is full of honey, a bear will attempt to "drain" the hive of it's honey level. They would most likely spawn in the same biomes where bees are found naturally, to allow this feature to work. Nearly identical to Polar Bears in the more general AI, Grizzly Bears could have an added feature that sets it apart: Entering a certain close radius will provoke the bear, in which they will chase down and attack the player with terrifying strength. On rare occasions, a hibernating bear could spawn in a snowy taiga biome. If woken up by being attacked, it would become provoked and act in a similar way as listed before, chasing down the player. Adding Grizzly Bears would make adventuring during the day time a lot more dangerous, due to the chance of accidentally provoking one without knowing, and as a challenging addition, they would require the player to figure out a way to protect their bee hives and nests from getting drained.
