    Volcano biomes and Basalt

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 09:32 AM PDT

Let's face it, it would be cool to see. It would be a nice source of lava and magma that's above ground for tropical biomes. Made of obsidian, andestite, and a new rock, basalt which would have holes and look rough in it's texture, but be able to be made smooth. Essentially like a black or dark grey version of andestite, which I think would be fitting since there aren't any black stair/stone wall/slab blocks

EDIT: I posted it on the feedback site: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360054964092-Volcano-biome-with-new-basalt-block

What if, the coral blocks had purposes?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 10:25 AM PDT

Let's face it, they're useless. But a patch could fix that.

    Heres one of my ideas,

Bubble Coral: so, what if soul sand was replaced with this when it comes to bubbles pushing you upwards? Sure, underwater elevators would be harder to make but, it would make more sense as well as look nicer because (if I'm being honest) soul sand, is an eye sore. Also, it literally has the word bubble in its name. However only this type would have the set ability.

    What do you think?

    A new Island biome

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 02:45 PM PDT

Don't you ever find it boring that islands in an ocean are just clumps of beach biomes with at best, some plains? There are Mooshroom islands, yes, but how about your ordinary island? I propose that there should be an island biome.

    Variants

There could be different variants of island biomes, from Volcano Islands, to the humid Jungle Islands, or just a rugged Mountain Island.

[Meta] Live discussions are ruining the sub.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 06:30 AM PDT

All these live discussions aren't discussions at all, they're just a bunch of people chatting about stuff that's completely irrelevant to the post.

The feature removes literally some of the only things that make reddit unique: The comment chain feature and karma.

Without these things engaging in a fruitful discussion is pretty much impossible and there is even no incentive to not shitpost.

In conclusion, we should get rid of the live discussion thing for this sub. Rant over.

I thought of making this a live discussion for shits and giggles but I am pretty serious about this so I decided not to.

Piglins should be called Pigmen and Zombie Pigmen should keep their original name.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 01:00 PM PDT

The zombie pigmen is an iconic mob. There is no reason to change its name. Zombified Piglin is a mouthfull and just sounds wrong.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 07:30 AM PDT

just some way for effects on note blocks

    examples:

cauldrons give reverb or sustain for 4 tics

    netherrack gives distortion

end stone gives phaser flanger or chorus

We need a mob that utilizes the shield

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 12:11 PM PDT

Unless you count the Shulker, a shield is basically a player-exclusive. It isn't that hard to make and is extremely good at defense, despite being slightly nerfed in the new combat snapshot. Since there is an update to axes, making them more balanced as a weapon and a tool, there should be a common hostile mob, or even mob type, to make the Chopping enchantment more useful. Here is my mob idea:

The Noir Guard: This type of mob would be a more darker-colored zombie, having some of it's skeleton showing, while also having a broken and rusty suit of the old, dark plate armor (only helmet and chestplate), but is still capable of wearing Chainmail, Iron, or Gold armor. This mob is slower than your typical zombie, but makes up for that with its shield, Just like the player, it cannot be attacked whatsoever unless the shield is down, disabled, or if you manage too hit the side of the zombie. After a single hit, it will put its shield up, but like an Enderman, if there is any projectile thrown or shot at it, it will put it's shield up. Keep in mind that this one is undead, so it possesses the same attributes as other undead mobs, except it cannot burn in the daylight due to its plate helmet. When killed, it has a 100% chance of dropping 1-2 rotten flesh or 0-1 bones, a 50% chance of dropping a shield of 7-92 durability, and 25% chance of dropping 1-2 plate shards, which can be crafted into either a Plate Helm or Plate Breastarmor (worst type of armor), or if 4 surrounding a piece of leather armor can make Studded Armor, which is the same as Leather Armor, but with an ability like Thorns. This mob would likely be in between the commonness between a Spider and an overworld Enderman.

    Crocuses in new Mountains biome

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 03:26 AM PDT

    Hi!

Because of incoming Mountains update I have an idea to add for them new type of flowers - Crocuses.

Crocuses are beautiful, purple flower with orange pistils and perfectly fits the new update. They rarely drop Saffron, from Saffron you can cook Saffron Soup, very powerful at healing.

But, the main reason is the look - I really lack this type of flower in Minecraft. And new Mountains would be amazing with valleys and hills planted with Crocuses.

Some pictures of them (real life): https://imgur.com/a/w8UEr64

From two pieces of wool 3 carpet is so odd. Carpet looks like an eighth of wool and when you craft 2 of them you should get 16.

If a dog/cat sits in the same place for a certain amount of time, it will lay down and sleep like foxes do.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 12:04 PM PDT

Similar to foxes, dogs and cats, when sitting in the same spot for a set amount of time, will lay down and sleep. The cats and dogs could also make a slight snoring noise to add a sense of livelihood within the animals.

    Meteorite structure

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 09:27 AM PDT

Meteorites would spawn randomly in any biome at a rare rate. You cannot see them crash or cause them to spawn. They appear in craters and can be in a few sizes. If they spawn in a desert or badlands, they will turn the nearby sand to glass. This glass could be a unique 'meteoric glass' which would act like prismarine by changing colours. This could also be crafted by putting sand in a blast furnace (given the temperature). The meteorites could be comprised of a meteor block, but I feel endstone would fit. This works as endstone gives no advantage to posses, and has a space feel to it. They could also have a small chance to spawn a chorus flower. The crash sites would appear as a hole in the ground with a small rise around them, and could have some magma blocks given the crashes heat. Comets could also appear instead of the meteorites, and would be made of packed and blue ice, with some water around them.

    Sticky arrows and bouncy arrows

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 05:31 AM PDT

These arrows are basically arrows with an extra slimeball/honey bottle added to it.

Sticky arrows are crafted with honey, and they cover the block they land on with a temporary honey spread, which acts like honey.

Bouncy arrows are crafted with slimeballs, and they bounce of walls/mobs/players for a maximum of 5 times.

    What do you guys think?

    Note Block Modifiers

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 08:48 AM PDT

We already have plenty of blocks that can be put under note blocks. However, we don't have any effects that apply to the tops of note blocks. What I suggest is modifiers. It would keep the sound of the block, but modify it slightly by adding things like reverb. I suggest certain blocks like anvils and cauldrons should alter the sound output.

Cauldron: Adds a targeted sound filter based on water level. Empty would be an all around softening. Anvil: Makes the sound sharper. The more damaged, the sharper the sound. Hopper: Adds reverb to the sound. Blast Furnace: Changes the pitch based on where it's facing relative to the redstone signal. Toward the left it's low and vice versa.

    Crater

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 02:41 PM PDT

It would be cool if iron golems would make a crater when hitting the ground after falling, since they weight approximately 31 tons. Not a big crater, only one or two blocks in radius.

Feeding a Horse a Golden Apple Will Give It the Effects of a Golden Apple. Feeding a Skeleton Horse an Enchanted Golden Apple Will Increase Its Health Permanently

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 01:55 PM PDT

    A new seasonal biome

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 03:45 PM PDT

A biome that changes based on moon cycles. A full cycle can be one season. There is snow during winter, and winter mobs spawn. Nights are 12 minutes instead of normal ten, and different crops grow better/ worse. During winter, the branches have no leaves, and if you shear them, instead of leaves, you get twigs. During spring, the tree branches start blooming, and you get leaves towards the end. The snow melts, and animals spawn more. It rains a lot during spring. When summer comes, days are 12 mins and nights are 8. Crops grow faster and it barely rains. During fall, the leaves turn color. Oak would turn dark brown, birch would turn light brown, and you could add a maple tree that turns a bright red color. If you tap the tree (click it with a bottle) you get maple sap. Add sugar and cook it to get maple syrup. It also rains a lot and crop growth is normal. It would be really cool to have a changing biome.

An amazing REWORK for the FURNACE MINECART

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 09:41 AM PDT

There are a lot of useless features and items in Minecraft but i think we can all agree that the MOST useless item is the furnace minecart. Since the introduction of powered rails the furnace minecart has been classified as one of the least useful things in the game. I took on the challenge myself to try and find a good use for the furnace minecart. So what I came up with are 4 improvements that will not only make the furnace minecart useful again but will also differentiate it even more from the powered rails.

    1. Make the furnace minecart connect better and easier with other minecarts. This will make the minecarts a viable and even better form of transportation for both items (in chest minecarts) and mobs (in regular minecarts).

    2. Make the furnace minecart able to be "fed" with whatever is flammable from wooden swords to chest and even torches. This change will make the furnace minecart have more options to what you can power it with therefore making it more compatible with whatever fuel farm you have.(For instance 0tic bamboo farms, tree farm, dried kelp farm etc)

    3. Make the furnace minecart interact with hopper. In detail what I mean with this is that you would be able to "fed" the furnace minecarts fuel from hopper kinda like a mini "feeding trough" station that will be strategically placed every maybe 100 block or so (the distance is fuel depended).

    4. Make the furnace minecarts do damage preferably 2.5 to 3 hearts or more when dropped on (similar to anvils). This will be great for mob farm and traps.

A New Ability For Spiders To Make Them Somewhat More Challenging To Fight

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 11:53 AM PDT

We all know our half-friendly, half-terrifying little buggers of the caves. In case you don't - where have you been? - here is our target. Just look at him. He jumps, he bites, he scurries, he hides, and he blinks at you in the sunlight and won't hurt you if you won't hurt him. Ain't he cuuute~?

    phone rings

Hello? Jeb, hello! How's...What do you mean he's supposed to be an enemy and that "cute" isn't supposed to be on his resume?

    sighs

Oh fine, let me cut to the chase. Spiders aren't exactly that hard to fight. A couple whacks with pretty much anything and they're gone. They get stuck in corners and flail around uselessly. Their AI is less than ideal, and they're pretty stupid (as all the spiders who constantly jump into lava to get to you can testify). The only real advantages they have is that they're pretty quick, and their cave spider cousins can poison you and are harder to hit.

I won't be getting into how the AI can be upgraded, I'll let Mojang figure that mess out. However, there is one idea that I had that could make fighting spiders far more interesting and, dare I say it, fun.

Web shooting. A very simple concept, but it's already being done in the new game Minecraft: Dungeons, so why not in the vanilla game too? It works like this: when a spider is too far away from you, or doesn't have a clear shot at jumping towards you, it fires a long-range web projectile at you at speeds of a skeleton arrow. This projectile can do one of two things:

    1. It can stop you in your tracks for 8 seconds. You can still fire arrows, block with your shield, or turn around, but you can't actually move anywhere until the timer runs out. This gives the spider a chance to reach you or gives other mobs a chance to kill you.

    2. The projectile doesn't trap you, but instead pulls you towards the spider like a rope. This can be nasty for several reasons: if you're up on a ledge, the spider below you can pull you down to its level. If the spider is above you, it can suddenly pull you upwards and cause you to lose your bearing. If it's across a chasm from you, it can effectively pull you across and then drop you into it. This would essentially be the same behavior that Minecon Earth's Mob A would've had (may it rest in peace, never forget...).

Now, that's not to say that there aren't ways to protect you from these nasty things. The web trap can be easily disabled with splash potions of water or water buckets (since water IRL washes webs away), and the "grappling" projectile can be blocked by the shield (it will still pull you slightly, but not by much).

If you feel this is too overpowered (or even underpowered, for that matter) for the spider, or that there should be other ways to defend yourself from these abilities, please let me know. Thanks for reading! :)

    Universal Blueprints

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 03:38 PM PDT

https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360054782851-Universal-Blueprints I think there should be universal blueprints, which allow you to summon outlines of your builds in any world for you to rebuild, even in survival. This way you don't need to watch tons of tutorials and get really stressed. It would really help for things like villager breeders and redstone.
