Display Case: 8 Glass Panes Surrounding an Item Frame on the Workbench Posted: 31 Jan 2020 11:56 AM PST Like building a cool trophy room but getting tired of placing your trophies on the walls in item frames? Wish you could show the displayed item from all angles, sort of like when it drops in its "loot-able" state? I'd love to see a Display Case for this purpose. It'd be an awesome way to show-off those VIP drops that we're particularly proud of to add a little 'pizzazz' to your base. For how it'd look, imagine having a glass block, right-clicking it with an item in your hand (like you would with an item frame), and then having the item displayed in the center of the glass block. Furnaces smelt slightly faster in the nether Posted: 30 Jan 2020 08:54 PM PST Simple idea here! Furnaces would take around 10% less time to cook when they're in the nether. This would fit in great with the nether update. If the nether update is adding "lava_ocean" biomes, maybe they could smelt stuff faster. (I mean, it's literally surrounded by molten rock... Better nether portals for nether update Posted: 31 Jan 2020 01:00 PM PST My idea is that nether portals are interconnected with their counterpart in the other dimension. For example, building a 5 x 5 portal in the over world will yield in the same in the nether. Didn't add corners? None in the nether. Also, to prevent obsidian farming, portals are connected after they're built, for example, if you break a block of obsidian on 1, it breaks on the other side as well. Ghast shot your portal? Don't expect to have a friend hopping through from the other side without flint and steel. Alternatively, need your friend to light the portal from the over world, sure, why not? A portal counts as one once it lights up, but continues to behave this way if it gets unlit, the only way to stop it is to break it completely [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jan 2020 10:06 AM PST Go to the outer End islands while the Ender Dragon is still alive, whether respawned or first time. Going while the Dragon is being resurrected doesn't count until the Dragon's chunks are not generated anymore. [link] [comments] |
Fire Texture Should Slowly get Shorter rather than just Disappearing Posted: 31 Jan 2020 01:29 AM PST It looks kind of weird having fire just instantly disappear once it stops burning. I think the texture should be changed so that it gets shorter until it's just a few pixels simulated off the ground before going out. This would closely match Lava's behavior too and also tie into the Nether update. Obviously fire would stay at its normal height if it was on Netherrack. An idea I've seen on here a while back was how some blocks should have a burning texture to them while on fire too. [link] [comments] |
Allow us to add datapacks while creating a new world. Posted: 31 Jan 2020 04:00 AM PST I admit I've become pretty dependant on the Treecapitator datapack. So it's kinda tedious that any time I wanna start a new Survival game I have to go into the files and add it. It's a small thing, but I'd like if we could instead add pre-installed datapacks to worlds while you're creating them. [link] [comments] |
Fire and lava should have a chance of turning sand to glass Posted: 31 Jan 2020 05:36 AM PST This doesn't apply to campfire blocks or magma blocks. Fire will have a 0.1% chance of turning sand to clear glass blocks, this is doubled for blue fire, and tripled for lava. This is because sand melts away to glass. Red Sand will create green glass. Blue Nether Wart Crops and Uses Posted: 31 Jan 2020 02:56 PM PST Since there will be blue netherwart blocks on the trees in the blue netherwart forest, it would be safe to assume that there should be a blue variant for the crop as well. Blue Nether Wart would be given piglin barters, or be rarely found in nether fortresses and some piglin structures. In nether fortresses, it should be as rare as to generate one blue nether wart plant per farm. It should also grow slightly slower. BNW will be a more energized, powerful version than its red counterpart, which is why it should be more rare. It should also be used to craft blue counterparts to the same blocks you can craft with the (current) red nether wart. What it would be used for:
Blue Nether Wart would be useful in potion making as well as decoration. Improvements and suggestions would be welcome! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jan 2020 04:34 AM PST A small community of 2 to 4 villages linked up by pathways .. they can be in different biomes and have different villager jobs and variants !! [link] [comments] |
Password for worlds on all platforms Posted: 31 Jan 2020 05:14 AM PST My kids keep destroying my worlds and turning on creative. Us old folk need passwords to keep these pesky whippersnappers out. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jan 2020 01:48 PM PST Since iron golems drop red flowers (as they have that in their body) I figured that it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to give a drop to snow golems, let's see, they are made out of pumping and... snow. How about they drop pumpkin seeds? Wouldn't be too op, wouldn't be too hard, I personally think it would be a cool little feature to add as of 1.16 as a 'side note' to all the big changes we are getting with the nether update. Syntax highlighting for NBT tags Posted: 31 Jan 2020 12:57 AM PST So we all know by now that in 1.13 above , if you type a command in the chat or a command block, the game will tell you the syntax of the command and the valid values that can be put in the command. For example, if you type /give (and a space), Minecraft will give you a list of all the items that you can give to a player. Now something that this feature misses is NBT tags. Sure, the game will tell you that you missed a quotation mark or a parenthisis, but it will neither tell you the syntax of the command nor will it tell you the valid values for the NBT tag. I really want this feature in the game. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 31 Jan 2020 08:31 AM PST Warlocks are a new type of Illager boss. They can only spawn at the final wave of a raid as a final boss that is triggered by a player with Bad Omen IV or higher. They will always spawn alone, means the entire wave is about defeating them. Warlocks have 150 HP (75 Hearts), and are 100% immune to iron golem attacks. They attack by throwing fireballs rapidly for 7 seconds while flying, each direct hit deals 5 damage without armor. They will also deal 3,5 hearts of damage by slamming to the ground very fast, and ignores armor. Their close-range attack involves hitting the player with an iron sword enchanted with Sharpness III and throwing lingering Harming I potions. Like Witches, they are 80% immune to all harmful effects of a potion. They can summon Vexes, about 8 of them at once, but not as frequent as an Evoker. At 2/3 health, they will frequently drink 10-second Invisibility potions whenever possible. At 1/3 health, they will drink 15-second Invisibility potions, 5-second Speed II potions, and throw two 20-second splash Regeneration II potion, and summon several vexes to keep the player busy. When defeated, all Villagers will lower the cost of all their trades to 1 emerald or even free, and the player will gain the Masterful status effect for one and a half hour; the effect will make all hostile mobs within the area of 50 x 50 block radius to not attack and give random rare loot to the player (Zombies will give iron ingots, Skeletons will drop enchanted bows, Creepers will give the player music discs, Endermen will give the player an ender pearl or even chorus fruits, etc). Better Integration of Redstone into Survival Posted: 31 Jan 2020 08:13 AM PST Redstone can be such a powerful tool, but I feel like it is missing a valuable use in survival mode. You can use it to make automated farms, but this isn't a necessary step in survival, it just helps with efficiency. I propose a massive integration of Redstone into the survival aspects of the game. The ideas below are pretty vague, but I just wanted to give a rough idea of the kinds of things I think would be a interesting.
As I say, these ideas are pretty rough, but I definitely think Redstone could have a bigger role in the game, and I'd love to hear if anyone has any ideas they could contribute to this concept. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Jan 2020 08:21 PM PST There should be a crafting recipe for reed which would likely be crafted from sugarcane, and a recipe that combines reed and a shell to make a whistle or horn, that draws your horse to you from a far distance. [link] [comments] |
