Strength potions should allow for further throwing

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 07:47 AM PST

When you have the strength effect, your physical damage is increased as shown by how much damage you deal. If you become so much stronger, why can't you throw eggs, snowballs or ender pearls further? This would make strength potions useful for situations where you need to throw an ender pearl further.

    More Soil!

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 12:12 PM PST

Minecraft needs more types of soil and ground material. It shouldn't be expected that the soil in a jungle biome would be the same as that of the plains. I propose new variants of soil for different biomes and uses.

    SILT

Found In-Game: Under rivers or beside river banks.

Crafted: Two clay and two sand in an "X" pattern yields four silt.

Appearance: A smoother, darker variation of dirt. Silt in the real world is used as more fertile soil for crops and allows for better water flow. In Minecraft, silt could be tilled to plant crops on, and would hydrate from water faster, as well as grow crops slightly faster.

    LOAM

Found In-Game: Nowhere, it can only be crafted by the player.

Crafted: One clay, one sand, and one silt yield three loam.

Appearance: a very dark, rich, soil. Loam is used as an extremely good soil for crops. In Minecraft, it would be a soil that grows crops even faster than silt, and hydrates as quickly as silt. When a water source is placed in a loam patch, it will hydrate five blocks in each direction, as opposed to dirt's four, resulting in a square with 40 more hydrated crop spaces than a dirt patch. The tradeoff for this is the length process required to obtain loam, as a maximum size loam patch required the player to collect 40 sand, clay, and silt.

    PEAT

Found In-Game: Top layers of soil in swamps.

Crafted: One dirt and three plants (ferns, grasses, leaves) yields one peat.

Appearance: Dark brownish-gray dirt. Peat is used as a fuel source. In-game it would serve as an alternative to coal for players who live near swamps. It smelts six items in a furnace.

    ULTISOL/RED CLAY

Found In-Game: Underneath top layer of dirt in jungles and savannahs.

Crafted: Two dirt and two clay in a "X" formation yields two ultisol.

Appearance: Orangish-reddish clay Ultisol is, for most who aren't familiar, a kind of dirt that is more compact than normal. It does not break as easily as dirt, rather it crumbles, and this would take longer to mine with a shovel. It would not be tillable and would serve as a decorational block for jungles and savannahs. It could potentially be turned into decorative variants similar to sand.

None of these blocks would be affected by gravity, and all of them would be mined with a shovel. I hope most of this is feasible; I spent a lot of time researching these.

For anyone confused on how it works, here's a crafting diagram:

    Nether Wart Wine

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 07:51 AM PST

With the upcoming Nether update, it aims to make the Nether habitable. However, if you plan to live entirely in the Nether, potions become impossible to create, due to the lack of water. Thirst has also been a suggestion, but without a drink in the Nether, you can't live in it with a thirst requirment. My solution...Nether Wart Wine...or juice if you want to be family friendly or something. It's simply crafted with a bottle and nether wart in a crafting table. It acts just like an akward potion, since akward potions are created with nether wart. Now this creates the issue of getting bottles without sand, but perhaps glass can also be created with soulsand, since it is sand.

    An iron or gold button

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 02:04 AM PST

These, you are able to hold down to get a longer redstone pulse. Some clever redstoners would be able to make pulse length combination locks. Less clever redstoners could use them to get the pulse length, they wanted without having to build a "complicated" redstone machine.

Sponges should be found in coral reefs.

    Posted: 25 Jan 2020 09:53 PM PST

Sponges are too rare. The only place to get them is in ocean monuments. And that's a shame, because sponges are really cool, interesting and useful. So I propose that sponges can naturally generate in coral reefs. They would be uncommon, maybe one sponge structure every 100 blocks. Each structure would have 1-4 sponge blocks.

This would give players a real incentive to find reefs. The only concern is that sponges would become too plentiful, but that can easily be amended (also, sponges still generate in Ocean Monuments).

    Shady Villagers

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 03:35 PM PST

They are villagers that wear all black and have a hat. They stay in their houses during the day, and go to a random spot in between two houses at night to trade between groups of 2-4 of them. They are rarer than normal villagers. If an Iron Golem/zombie-type sees them, it will go after and attack them, but they actually have to see them and can't sense them like mobs normally do. They walk faster than villagers, and have 10 more health. Normal villagers also avoid them, and baby villagers will run terrified from them. They drop emeralds and swords and axes from wooden-iron tier. Upon attacking them, entering their home while they're in it, or having them see (see above) you at night will cause them to attack you. This also applies to all mobs in the game as the Shady Villager will attack them aswell. They all spawn with a random axe or sword from the wooden, stone, or iron tiers. If the player has a low enough reputation, then approaching them at night won't have them attack you and you can trade with them. They have the same trades as other villagers with some different trades. They also trade using emeralds, mob heads, meat, weapons, armor, and mob eggs more often. They can be tamed with a nether star or dragon egg, which causes them to be peaceful to the player and all non-hostile mobs and gain an extra ten health. However, they return to normal once the player dies. Rarely, they will seek out the iron golem at night and give it a poppy, which will cause it to be peaceful to them for 4 Minecraft days.

    Mud Blocks

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 12:41 PM PST

Whenever it is raining on a dirt block for at least 1 minute, or whenever a dirt block is touching water, it will turn into a mud block. Mud acts like ice, with the player slipping on it. If a mud block is broken, water is left in its place. Mud can be fathered but Silk Touch is needed. Whenever mud is outside rain or water for 1 minute, it will turn back into dirt. Mud blocks also spawn naturally in the rainforest biome, and don't convert to dirt. There is also a gamerule, "SoilWater". The default is true, but if set to false, dirt will not convert to mud, and mud will not convert to dirt. Mud is not a full block, and is the same height as Grass Path and Farmland. If a player with Frost Walker walks on mud, they will appear to be floating and the mud will be like a full block to them.

    Nitwitches

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 10:36 AM PST

We all know about Villagers turning into Witches when struck by lightning, but what happens if a Nitwit gets hit by it? Well, in canon, they turn into a normal Witch… But let's take a step into an alternate universe for a moment.

It's a stormy day, and a nitwit is busy doing whatever nitwits do. Unfortunately… Lightning strikes, and turns him into a hostile Witch. Shame his brains weren't given extra energy from that shock, leaving him stuck as a Nitwitch. However, a small proportion of witches will also spawn as Nitwitches, implying that's not the only source of them!

To reflect the Nitwitch's origin as the Nitwit, he may throw potions that don't do anything, or accidentally use a healing potion on you, and a harming one on himself. Heck, he might even miscalculate and give you a boost, debuff himself, or even both. However, he might be able to get you… If he's lucky: There's a chance that he might heal or boost himself, or harm you. These outcomes are rarer than him screwing up, but it still means that the Nitwitch might become a threat… If he lasts long enough. They retain their green robes from their nitwit days as well, providing a slight visual difference as well.

Even though this isn't likely to show up in game, it would be a fun easter egg, and add a little more variation, as well as keeping the player on their toes: It would add a bit of unpredictability to the Witch, because you never know what they'll do.

Putting a splash potion in a campfire makes the smoke emit the effect

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 12:30 PM PST

Putting a splash potion of any kind into a campfire will cause the smoke to turn the colour of the potion and touching the smoke will inflict the player with the effect. How long the effect lasts is dependent on how high the smoke's reached. Touching the smoke right above the campfire gives a good while, while a couple blocks up is weaker. Touching the campfire, where you actually burn, will grant the effect for as long as the potion would have lasted. Drop coal or charcoal into it to turn it to normal.

    Curse Of Permanent Damage

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 12:45 PM PST

When this curse is on an item, it cannot be repaired with an anvil (It can't be stacked with Mending). To make it so you can't remove it, it also can't be grindstoned away.

    A default item labeled "minecraft:custom"

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 04:26 PM PST

Not much to say really, this is mainly for creators who want to make custom items. Currently you need to override another items modeldata in order to show a different texture. However when you hover over the item, it still shows the actual item identifier, for example "minecraft:iron_block".

My idea would be to add a simple item named "minecraft:custom" to be used for creating all of the custom items.

Nautilus mobs should spawn in deep ocean trenches

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 03:34 PM PST

I think the Drowned is an awkward mob. The only way to obtain tridents is a low chance drop by the Drowned. That's rather anticlimactic. The way to obtain nautilus shells is another low chance drop by drowned. That's pretty uninteresting. I think we can do better.

The Trident will need it's own treatment, but I have a solution for the other. I propose that Nautilus mobs spawn in ocean trenches, and Nautilus would drop nautilus shells upon being killed. Here's why:

    • The nautilus would be an interesting and cool mob to see in the game. I'm not sure if anyone could object to more sea creatures to put in aquariums.
    • This provides an alternative method of getting nautilus shells, maybe even becoming the only method.
    • This gives a good incentive for players to dive down to the previously barren and useless ocean trenches and find something useful.

The main concern is that taking away everything the drowned drop might make them a pointless mob. But I think the drowned serve their purpose perfectly well even without tridents or shells. They provide an real danger to the oceans. And you could always give them a unique drop or function that suits them better.

    Dyeable wallpapers

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 04:52 PM PST

It would be cool to be able to craft wallpaper to decorate your builds. Sometimes certain blocks look good as an exterior, but not as an interior. Creating wallpaper could potentially cover up walls that don't work, or maybe even be placed over red stone contraptions to hide them! I would be crafted with paper, dye, and maybe even banners if the player wanted a certain pattern. This could be helpful with a lot of structures!

    They're on a boat!

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 05:47 AM PST

We see sunken ships, but where are the non sunken varieties?

I propose that sailing ships randomly generate in either water or in a beach biome, with a village next to it. The villagers themselves would have a 'pirate' look to them, while the village itself would use mossy versions of blocks when they can. Such villages would also be relatively close to an ocean monument maybe.

    Hammocks

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 03:02 AM PST

Personally, I feel hammocks would be a great addition to the game. These items would have to be strung up between two trees, or really any two pillars in the game. They would require a three-block gap between these pillars to be strung up. Besides being really cool looking, they would serve a purpose as well. Hammocks would allow you to sleep without overwriting your spawn point. However, if the player didn't have a bed with a spawn point set at it, the hammock would act just like a normal bed, giving players some options to their sleeping arrangments. They would be crafted with three carpet along the bottom of the crafting table, and two string above those on either end, making a U shape. Just like beds, they could be any colour that you can dye wool. Hammocks would be perfect as utility blocks on their own, but also would really bring to life themed builds such as beach bungalows, campsites and ships just to name a few. I'm open to suggestions on how to improve and refine this idea if you guys are willing to give me some! :D

    Party Items

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 02:19 PM PST

Random asthetic stuff because I noticed Minecraft parties consisted of nothing but sprinting-and-jumping around, cake, and campfires.

Rainbow Dye can be made with any 9 different dyes. Can be used to make wool-related stuff along with dog collars, leather armor, and sheep.

Confetti can be made with Rainbow Dye and paper for 9 confetti. It is a material.

Confetti Guns (I know Mojang said no guns, but come on!) are small few use items . They are crafted with paper all along with middle row and leather on the bottom right. Using one causes a rainbow particle effect at the user's location. It uses confetti as fuel.

Fireworks will automatically go on Holidays at 8:00pm, 10:00pm, and 12:00am. There will also be fireworks at 11:40pm-12:20am on New year's Eve and and New year's day. Night Vision lasting for 20 minutes is also automatically given to all players at 8:00pm October 31st and 11:50pm December 31st, each lasting for 20 minutes each.

Dye Dispensers are small chests with one storage slot. When they are adjacent to water or lava, they will dye the liquid that colour.

Clangers (the metal things you swing, don't remind their names) are crafted with iron ingots on the bottom middle and middle left and right, with paper in the middle. When used, they make the same sound as a creeper hissing and the sound of a metal block breaking at the same time.

To commemorate this party update, Hot Pink and Neon Green have been added as colour dyes.

Bronze & Metallurgist Villagers (MC Suggestions Link)

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 03:33 AM PST

If you like this suggestion, why not vote for it?

In real life, bronze is an alloy. This means it does not naturally form, but instead is created by humans. This could be translated into the game by making bronze ingots obtainable only by trading with villagers. It could be traded with an existing villager (e.g. armorer), or a new villager (e.g. metallurgist). The former would probably be easier to implement, but the latter opens up a host of possibilities, so I will discuss it in this suggestion. Bronze could also be made by the player, but I feel it would be better suited as something that players need to earn.

Bronze should be similar to iron in most ways, albeit with slightly less durability. The main advantage of bronze would be that, like gold, it has a high enchantability. It could also host higher-level enchantments than other materials, but I can see why this may be going too far. The other possibility is that it could cost significantly less XP to repair and enchant on an anvil.

The metallurgist villager would probably use an anvil as his workstation. He would buy and sell iron, gold, coal, charcoal, leather, buckets of water, and of course, bronze. A final possibility for the metallurgist is that he could buy copper, a new ore that can make weak tools and armor, but the main purpose is to sell to the metallurgist to unlock his bronze trades.

New generation feature: Volcanoes and Geysers

    Posted: 26 Jan 2020 12:02 PM PST

I think it would be cool if in some warmer biomes were to generate: • Volcanoes: made up of a tougher and darker stone with magma blocks at the bottom of the lava part; • Geysers: made up of water with a mineral block at the source of the water, this block makes the water jump over the normal level and it can change its push power by how many magma blocks are strictly near the mineral block.

The mineral block said before in presence of air it would emit smoke particles, in presence of water it would emit steam/smoke and it would apply a force to entities (like soulsand does) and it would create a jet of water above the normal level.
