Allow lanterns to hang on other lanterns Posted: 12 Feb 2020 02:28 AM PST Lanterns should be able to be placed under other lanterns, with a chain leading up to the bottom of the last lantern. This would give us the following benefits:

Lanterns should be able to get turned on/ off Posted: 12 Feb 2020 11:07 AM PST Wouldn't it be cool if you could turn lanterns on and off? With redstone or with right click? [link] [comments] |
Tie Phantoms to moon phases rather than Insomnia. Posted: 12 Feb 2020 04:49 AM PST Phantoms have affected a core mechanic of Minecraft which is the day/night cycle. It ruins night time exploration and building, forces players to skip the night every few days, the worst part though is this translates even worse to multiplayer servers where unless they frequently skip night for players, or use the gamerule to disable Insomnia, they are not a fun mechanic to deal with and players don't get the opportunity to reset them causing frustration. By disabling them however by the gamerule, this does take the phantoms out completely, and I believe for this to be bad implementation of phantoms if a gamerule was added as a result. Phantoms would be a more enjoyable experience, especially for multiplayer servers if they only spawned at full moon every 8 cycles. Players then only have to encounter phantoms 1 night out of the 8. This does make membranes rarer however spawns could be adjusted to make this more of an event. This does leave a question of what Insomnia is even used for, which I'm sure there are plenty of ideas that can be provided. Insomnia can be given a better use that could affect your distance of vision, a bit like void fog back in the day, just as an example. [link] [comments] |
Killing a Wither in the Nether spawns something Posted: 12 Feb 2020 10:21 AM PST With the new Nether themed update a thought came to my mind that is kind of interesting to think of. Briefly: Killing a Wither in any of the Nether biomes spawns something in the Nether in a random place. -It could be like a precious treasure chest -It could be a gateway like in the End biome -It also could increase mob's spawning rate and capacity bigger in 1 random chunk in Nether that you would have to find out in some way. I thought it would be a cool idea with the new Nether update. Also everytime you kill a Wither, the next will be more buffed, like more HP or more DMG or maybe Protection to Projectiles or whatever you could think of that would be realistic, when you want to kill more Withers. (I meant that they wouldn't instantly get a insane OP buff) You can add more features of what it would do after killing a Wither in the Nether. [link] [comments] |
Gamerule to disable player locations on maps Posted: 12 Feb 2020 11:38 AM PST The gamerule would be something like trackplayers. This would make it much harder to track people using maps, and would make it harder to find hidden bases. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Feb 2020 07:10 AM PST A new enchantment (curse) that when applied to a helmet causes any player to burn when in sunlight like one of Minecraft's undead mobs (Skeletons, Zombies, etc.) Let me know what y'all think. Originaly suggested by u/Planemaster3000 [link] [comments] |
Ores should generate in large, uncommon veins. Posted: 12 Feb 2020 05:26 AM PST It would feel more rewarding for miners to find a large chunk of either ores every once in while instead of finding a few ores every second. There could also be a denser version of an ore that generates with the vein that yields more when mined. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Feb 2020 05:27 AM PST I think that the mechanic of water not being able to exist in the nether removes many posibilities of creating contraptions(transporting items, pushing mobs, potion base, bubble columns, etc.), but the nether is just too hot for water to exist here, so I suggest a new liquid, the soul fluid! It has a greyish color, and ocasionally appears in small ponds in the soulsand valley. It flows like water, but it inflicts weakness if a mob or player is in it, and inflicts blindness when the player is under the surface of the liquid, and the blindness still lasts for 3 seconds after the player goes up to the surface. It doesnt extinguish burning players or mobs, but when it hits a block of fire, it does extinguish the fire(you can just hit the fire by hand, so its not op). The soul fluid can be used to create bubble columns, push items, mobs, and as a potion base. It can be put into a cauldron, but its as useless as a water cauldron. Soul fluid can also be put into a bucket, but can't create infinite sources. The liquid reactions are also important, so here they are(sb= source block; f= flowing): (Water —> SB lava = obsidian for comparison) soul fluid —> SB water = clay Water —> soul fluid = Water Soul fluid —> SB lava = magma block Soul fluid —> F lava = netherrack Lava —> SB soul fluid = soul sand Lava —> F soul fluid = air Water has agressive properties towards soul fluid, and if water gets to a pond of soul fluid, it turns all soul fluid touching it into inself(water). If soul fluid spills onto water, it turns the water into clay, making clay renewable(besides villager trading). Lava and soul fluid create a bigger variation of blocks, like netherrack, soul sand and magma blocks. [link] [comments] |
Mythril a new ore for the Nether, an evolution of iron (Read Description) Posted: 12 Feb 2020 01:39 PM PST Mythril Ore : Appearance and rarity :Why not a new ore more accessible than the Netherite for an evolution of iron armor. Mythril spawn in the Nether and is rare as quartz. Craft :Like Netherite but you needs 2 ores instead of one for each weapons, tools and armors. Utility :Mythril can be considered an improvement for the iron armor only. Mythril armor is superior to that of iron in defense and durability but behind diamond armor, but have very bad enchantment the opposite of gold and is limited to level I or II enchantments. It provides naturally good protection against damage depending on how many pieces are fitted. Myrthil weapons would do damage like iron, more resistant but would have a speed a bit more lower but 33 % chance to inflict critical damage. Myrthil tools would be more efficient than iron, more resistant, close to the diamond tools and 33% chance to not damage the tools each time. New weapon :The Mythril Bow : [Bow+ 2 Mythril Ores] The Mythril bow can be made with mythril ores. Bad enchantment and is limited to level I or II enchantments, Compared to a normal bow, the speed is a bit lower but the damage is more high and you have a 33% chance to inflict critical damage. Mythirl Crossbow : [Crossbow + 2 Mythril Ores] The Mythril crossbow can be made with mythril ores. Bad enchantments and is limited to level I or II enchantments, Compared to a normal crossbow, the speed is a bit lower but the damage is more high and you have a 33% chance to inflict critical damage. Maybe the Crossbow use by the Piglins. Mythirl Shield : [Shield + 2 Mythril Ores] Shield, more resistant than a normal shield, when the player blocks an attack it inflicts Knockback I and can nullify the effects of potions if send on the player if blocked. Other useful Objects :Nether Compass : [4 Mythril Ingots + 1 Redstone] Find your way around the Nether. Mythril furnace : [1 Blast Furnace and 8 Mythril Ingots] that smelts ores even faster and gives a 33% chance to double bar output from smelted ores. Decoration :- Mythril block : [8 Mythril Ingots ] - Mythril door : [6 Myhril Ingots ] - Mythril bars : [6 Mythril Ingots ] - Mythril hatch : [4 Mythril Ingots ] I think a new gold like Mythril would make the Nether more interesting and encourage more players to mine in the Nether to find interesting materials for weapons, useful objects or decoration. Any Suggestions or change ? [link] [comments] |
Dropping concrete powder (as item/s) into water makes them concrete blocks Posted: 12 Feb 2020 06:15 AM PST I think that turning concrete powder into blocks currently is a chore to do in survival, so its a pretty underused block in survival builds. I think that it would be nice if: 1. Dropping concrete powder (as item/s) will turn them into concrete blocks (without draining the water) and / or 2. Putting (1-64) concrete powder in a crafting table with a bucket of water will create the same amount of concrete blocks as an outcome (leaving the bucket in the crafting area like with crafting a cake) [link] [comments] |
Trade Soul Sand to Cleric villagers for regular Sand Posted: 12 Feb 2020 02:01 PM PST Since they're all about purifying evil, wouldn't it make sense for them to do this? It would also open up a renewable source of sand without having to ruin deserts and beaches. [link] [comments] |
New music tracks for the Nether, but more specifically for the warped/crimson forests Posted: 12 Feb 2020 01:45 AM PST While the current nether music fits good and gets the job done, all of the current Nether music gives off that entire desolate, hellish, and wasteland vibe. While the Nether is still true in some regards, the Nether is filled with plenty of life now, and for the new forests I feel like while it shouldn't be biome exclusive ( or maybe, whos know! ) some more ambient, moody music plays while still having that nether touch too it, if that makes sense? Something that has a little bit more life in it to mix things up abit. [link] [comments] |
Use for Silverfish and a New Fast Travel option Posted: 12 Feb 2020 01:26 PM PST Summary At The Very Bottom Silver Fish have always been pretty much a minor annoyance that players can easily dispatch of in seconds by breaking the spawner. However what if the Silverfish dropped a rare silver nugget that could be combined with gold, ender pearls, and another more rare material like diamond or maybe netherite to make 1 of a new portal making item. What if this portal were flat and resembled a mirror, occupied 2 vertical blocks, had a light green swirl (complimentary color of Nether Portal color), and it leads you to a dimension called The Middle. The Middle is a dimension only players can enter where every portal ever created to this dimension is in close proximity to each other (about 11 blocks) which lead you to its respective portal in the Overworld. These portal blocks would appear on an unobtainable new block called "Reality" which takes the appearance of whatever block the portal were placed on in the Overworld. The ground would be made of a clear breakable unobtainable block called "Space" and the dimension would be a open and have an entirely dark "sky" but no mobs. Spawn cannot be set here. Block Placement would be allowed so if players did not prefer the dark skies they could build their own. Also they can build around the Reality and Portal blocks to make their own creations. To make End a more mandatory place or easier option in order to make the way to the Middle could have Endermites drop Endica for the crafting recipe which is an item based on Silica, a commonly used item in higher quality scientific mirrors. By having only players enter the Middle it helps keep the nether a place to travel when you need to bring mobs from place to place. Also if netherite is needed than the Nether is still required to traverse into the Middle. The reasoning for a mirror model design is because if silver were to be an item, most mirrors are made of silver and that isn't too far of a jump. Other ideas and options to think about - Make chainmail craft-able with silver nuggets and maybe iron nuggets in reference to how it's made in real life - Endica Blocks (a block with a color akin to purple dye) - Silver Blocks (a block similar to the color of light gray dye) - Tamed Wolfs, Cats, and Parrots should be able to traverse The Middle with you. - If needed put a cool down effect on portal use - Allow block placement for players to design around the portals Summary Silverfish and Endermite should drop Silver and Endica nuggets which can be used to make a portal to a place called The Middle where you can set up other portals and travel a large distance of blocks in a matter of 11s of blocks. phantoms should take damage if they fly into windows Posted: 12 Feb 2020 04:36 AM PST title really says it all really, the faster theyre going the more damage it does, and maaybe it breaks panes if theyre going top speed [link] [comments] |
New water-like liquid in nether. Posted: 12 Feb 2020 02:44 PM PST There should be a liquid that spawns in the new forests that acts like water (Maybe WithSome Interesting Physichs).Water in nether would be cool. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Feb 2020 06:44 AM PST Tittle says it all. If you were 4 pieces of armor with the same enchantment you get a ether a stronger version of the enchantment or a permanent status buff of some kind. Would give people a reason to go for something other than full prot. [link] [comments] |
Warped forests don't spawn any mobs at all. Posted: 12 Feb 2020 03:55 PM PST I think endermen shouldn't spawn in the blue warped forests but instead nothing spawns in them, giving a much more eerie and peaceful feel. Maybe even the warped forests should have a wierd effect that makes mobs--and the player--a bit dizzy after staying in it for too long... [link] [comments] |
Maybe incorporate fire resistance potions in creating lava boats? Posted: 12 Feb 2020 11:57 AM PST A lot of people are saying lava boats make the nether too easy, so maybe they should only be usable via a fire resistance potion? It'd be cool if you could kinda use the fire resistance potion as a sort of fuel source for the boat so you'd have a limited time to use it and also, if you had fire resistance anyway then it eliminates the threat of lava and just makes things easier. You should be able to bleach dyed items by right clicking it in Edu. Posted: 12 Feb 2020 04:06 AM PST In the current education edition, you can only bleach things by putting it and the item in the crafting table. Not only is this unrealistic (the bottle), but also annoying if you just want to bleach your bed without the complicated procedures. [link] [comments] |
New lantern recipe to turn on/off Posted: 12 Feb 2020 01:27 PM PST Inspired by u/GG1312 (i think thats his user) 1.) Instead of all iron nuggets make the bottom on or top one a lever to add a special kind of lantern you can turn on/off for a bit extra. 2.) Or maybe you could LT or left click with a torch to turn it back on but when you turn it off you only get a stick. I still want the normal lanterns to be a thing though [link] [comments] |
