You should be able to craft stone into cobblestone.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 12:17 PM PST

What if we were able to craft any stone item (Stone, Stone Stair, Stone Slab) into the appropriate cobblestone variant? (Cobblestone, Cobblestone Stair, Cobblestone Slab) I often find that I have way too much stone where cobblestone is more useful for my projects. And while we're at it, why not make it so that cobblestone variants can be smelted into stone variants?

Iron Golems can be fully or mostly healed if you use Iron Blocks

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 12:35 PM PST

So basically you can heal Iron Golems with ingots right now, right? What if you could also use iron blocks, and maybe it could instantly heal them to full, or maybe just like 80% health or something. Point is, if you just want to fully heal your golem you could use a block instead of ingots. I think that'd be pretty cool.

Netherite items should be smeltable in furnaces the same way as iron and gold, producing 1 netherite scrap in the process

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 01:29 PM PST

This would not only make all 3 metals aligned in salvageability (iron and gold nuggets, netherite scrap), but would also be helpful in survival, as netherite is extremely rare.

Edit: Truth is, smelting netherite items would be a very rare occasion, but it should be available for those few moments where it might help. The item (scrap) is already there, this would be just adding a new smelting recipe. The main usage would be salvaging at least something out of netherite items without mending that are near breaking and can't be repaired anymore.

Regarding netherite's fire resistance, blast furnace can reach higher temperatures than lava, so it would be reserved to blasting.

Dragon Eggs and the Second Wave

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 04:07 AM PST

This sounds a bit more like a mod idea, but I still thought it would be interesting.

One of the most common complaints about the game is that common mobs are too easy to fight. In my opinion, I think that there should be a vanilla way to increase the difficulty and make mobs harder without changing the gamemode or making the game frustrating for less experienced players (i.e. Me). This idea would both accomplish that and give the dragon egg more uses.

-Make the Dragon Egg renewable: When you respawn and kill the Ender Dragon, a second Dragon Egg spawns if the first has been removed. This will both make it easier to use for decoration and make he rest of the idea possible.

-Altar of the Dragon: To build the Altar of the Dragon, you place a 3 x 3 platform of obsidian. On top of that, you place the dragon egg in the center and an end crystal on each corner of the platform. This activates the Second Wave

-The Second Wave: The Second Wave alters the difficulty of the mobs. Second Wave increases the difficulty of the game without altering the basic mechanics.

-Changes in Second Wave All mobs have higher strength and health; Mob spawn rates are increased; The radius around the player where mobs don't spawn is shrunk; Skeletons and zombies are more likely to spawn with armor and weapons; Spiders are still hostile during day; When one is hit, all zombie pigmen are hostile until you leave the Nether; Endermen are not hurt by water; Pigmen spawn near nether portals more frequently; There is a small chance for blazes to spawn near nether portals; Creepers have a 1% chance to spawn charged; Pillager patrols spawn more frequently and are more likely to include evokers, vindicators, and ravagers; Raids are longer and include more evokers, vindicators, and ravagers; Other changes to increase difficulty

-Third Wave: If the piece of obsidian under the Dragon Egg is replaces with an activated beacon, Third Wave is activated. Third Wave adds even more additional challenges to maximize difficulty.

-Changes in Third Wave: The changes from Second Wave Mobs have much higher strength and health; Zombies and skeletons always spawn with armor; Mobs do not burn during day; Endermen are always hostile; Ender pearls spawn endermites much more frequently; Creepers are spawned as charged creepers 4% of the time; Blazes, Ghasts, and Whither skeletons spawn near Nether Portals; Mobs can open doors, trapdoors, and gates

There could be a game rule or command to set the wave as First Wave, Second Wave, and Third Wave, as well as lock it to prevent problems in servers. Feel free to suggest changes or ways to further increase difficulty.

Snow Golem Overhaul - Modular Snow Golem Heads

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 12:00 PM PST

Here are some types of new heads snow golems could have, as well as what kind of stats each head would give. A snow golem's head could be replaced at any time, by simply sheering off their current head and right-clicking while holding the new head.

    No head

A snow golem with no head, or simply a snowman, would have great accuracy and range as their vision is no longer blocked. However, they would have less health and/or less armour, due to their lack of helmet. Would be good for defending one's base if placed high off the ground, like a sniper.

    Regular Carved Pumpkin Head

Just the vanilla snow golem, with basic accuracy and health/armour. A good all-round snow golem.

    Full Pumpkin Head

A snow golem with a whole, un-carved pumpkin for a head. They would have poor accuracy as their vision is basically blocked, but their health/armour would be very high. Would serve as a tank, possibly working alongside iron golems for ranged-support.

    Jack-o-Lanter Head

A snow golem with a jack-o-lantern for a head. Would probably have the same stats as a normal carved pumpkin head, but have the added benefit of emitting light. Would be best used around your base as like a mobile light source, or simply as a cool light decoration.

Edit: I know this technically counts as dynamic lighting, which is on the FPS list, but it's not the main focus of my post.

Melon Head (this one is far fetched)

A snow golem with a whole melon as a head. Since (glistering) melon is used in healing potions, the melon head could be a anti-undead snow golem. Much like a splash potion of healing, the melon head's snowballs would heal living mobs, but harm undead mobs. The healing effect would be weak as to not become overpowered. If the melon head sees an injured player, it would shoot snowballs at them to slowly heal them. If they see a hostile mob, it would attack them just how a normal snow golem would, but deal slightly more damage to undead mobs.

Change the block breaking effect when using Silk Touch to only be visible around the edges of the mined block.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 01:49 PM PST

Something that's always bugged me with Silk Touch was that the breaking visual was this extremely destructive web of cracks, slowly growing until the block literally exploded into tiny pieces.

Of course, this is because before enchanting, this was all that's needed - you break apart a block and it is degraded. Then Silk Touch got added, and the breaking effect stayed the same - meaning you brutally destroy a block of glass, or glowstone, or a sea lantern, and yet it somehow reforms from the atomic dust you've just smashed it into?

It would make much more sense for the breaking effect to be replaced with an alternative when using a tool that's been enchanted with Silk Touch, that has cracks growing only around the edges of the block, and absolutely no shatter particles. This way, it would seem like you're slowly chiseling the block from the world instead of hacking it apart like an oger wielding a barely congruent mass of diamond, sticks and magic.

Additionally, it would make it much more apparent which pickaxe you're currently using to mine - your Fortune pick, or your Silk Touch pick.

    Hunter, Bandit, Nullifier, Coven

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 02:35 PM PST

I prefer challenges to come in creative ways, especially when we are building the list of powerful upgrades available to players.

    Hunter

A scout-type Illager that can often be found alone, but also joins groups of other Illagers and Pillagers and might be a mainstay of a Patrol.

You may be able to find Piglin versions of the Hunter in the Nether, fighting with tamed Hoglins, though they do not bring along any of the Raid mechanics (Patrols or Bad Omen).

    • Barbed Net. Hunters have a unique ability where they throw a barbed net at the player, it has a short cooldown per player (they can net multiple people quickly). While on you, it will deal damage as you move, jump, or mine blocks. After a duration or damage threshold, the net breaks.
    • Spawn Wolves. Usually their first move in combat, Hunters like to spawn 2-4 angry wolves who seek you out quickly and relentlessly. They cannot be calmed or tamed, and a Hunter who has been injured will try to escape while the wolves attack.
    • Hunter Is Escaping! A Hunter who successfully "escapes" (gets 30+ blocks away from a player they have fought and then despawns) inflicts you with the Bad Omen debuff.

Loot: Leads, leather gear, different meats, and a small map centered on the player's current respawn location and/or a map of the closest Pillager Outpost.

    Bandit

A tank-type Illager who is always spawned in a group that they can support, and generally wears good armor/has high health. Again, might be present with Piglin varieties in the Nether.

    • Shield. Bandits carry a heavy shield and use this to block ranged attacks. In melee range, they can bash you with the shield on a slow cooldown. They try to interpose themselves between the player and other illagers.
    • Broken Shield Rage. Bandits are unusually tough due to their shield, and become wildly aggressive if their shield breaks in combat, sprinting and jumping at the player while swinging a hammer.
    • Regeneration. Bandits rally their nearby allies. Damage the Bandit blocks with his shield is converted into brief healing for his nearby friends.

Loot: different ingots and nuggets, emeralds, food, armor, and perhaps a shield.

    Nullifier

A debuff and caster-type Illager, and a vicious counter to glittering, magic-infused players. They seem to be possessed of a force beyond their own control...

    • Teleport Aura. When in danger, the Nullifier will trade places with a mob allied to it. This is as easy and quick for them as jumping or sprinting. The teleportation deals some damage around both their origin and destination locations.
    • Thieving Siphon. While a hostile Nullifier holds their hands out to the side, Enchantments, Beacon effects, and Potion effects on the player are transferred to the Nullifier and any of their nearby allies.
    • Imploding Death. Killing a Nullifier is a tricky business, since they turn into a small black hole upon death, drawing in and damaging nearby mobs indiscriminately for a short while.

Loot: potions, enchanting books, and a curious piece of End Stone...

    Coven

This is a suggestion that a rare(?) spawn group would always consist of a Witch, an Evoker, and a Nullifier.

    • Linked AI. A Coven knows and sees anything its group does. This makes it very difficult to sneak up on, separate, or escape from a coven near you.
    • Linked Health. Each member of a Coven divides incoming damage and healing with all the others, meaning that you cannot kill one before the others, and they all fall together.
    • Summon Ravager. Working together, a Coven is able to spawn a Ravager near any individual in the coven as long as they are not interrupted by taking damage. They must restart the process if interrupted, and cannot have more than one Ravager out at a time.

I hope to see Illagers and Pillagers gain a presence in the Nether or End, but probably only under certain conditions / by using certain structures.

An additional mode to hardcore where if you die you randomly spawn in the nether and have to make it back to the overworld to come back to life

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 11:59 AM PST

it's sort of like cheating death after your soul sinks to the underworld which the nether pretty much is cannonically. it's not guaranteed but possible to be able to get the obsidian you need to send your soul back to the world of the living through piglin trades and nether fortresses.

"The Essence of Ender" Teleportation Device in Survival

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 03:00 PM PST

I think that Realms are awesome. However, it can be kind boring to go to each person's different base. This is because traveling, even by rail, can take forever. My idea is an item called "Essence of Ender." It would take 8 ender pearls and an eye of ender. The items functions by setting a start point and a point where you would end up. It cannot be reused, even with silk touch -- so place it carefully! I think this seems like a real time saver, and also seems pretty balanced. They would just be taking the already existing functionality of the command block, without all of the unfair aspects.

Piglins will react to being in the overworld

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 02:58 AM PST

As we know already, overworld air is poisonous to piglins but right now they really don't show it in any way other than a bit of shaking. Which is what this post aims to solve.

Piglins will have 2 states when they are in the overworld. 1: Curious and 2: Panicked.

A piglin in a curious state would wander around in the overworld and look at other animals. This would last maybe somewhere around 7-12 seconds before state 2 begins.

A piglin will enter a panicked state after state 1 has passed. When entering a panicked state a piglin will stop in place for a second, then start making coughing and wheezing sounds. In addition to this, they'd start emiting particles from their mouth.

A piglin in this situation will have 1 one of 2 reactions depending on how they end up in the overworld. If they're manually spawned in by a player/dispenser, they'll start running around before eventually becoming zombified. The second reaction accures when a piglin enters through a nether portal, in this case they will run as fast as they can towards it, if they fail for whatever reason they'll get zombified.

Piglins that survive being in the overworld will become afraid of nether portals and avoid them at all costs.

    Lunar Biome for the End

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 03:06 AM PST

The Lunar biome is a biome like the Moons surface that is exclusive to the End, and has lots of deep craters and high mountains. Be careful as some craters will lead you directly to the Void! The Lunar biome is a unique End biome in which its the only biome where diamond ore and lapis lazuli can generate.

The Lunar biome also does not have any water or lava, except for Ender Lava, and no life except for Endermen, Endermites, and Silverfish.

    Generation

The Lunar biome generates as a kind of flat-ish plane with very high mountains and very deep craters which number in the hundreds. Since there is no erosion, these mountains can be much higher than Overworld mountains, peaking at around 256 blocks. The same is true for craters, craters can be enormous, and go straight into the Void at the very deepest. Craters are always a circle. The Lunar Biome terrain is made up of a very hard rock known as Regolith. This can be mined only with a diamond pickaxe, and can be used to make Regolith tools, which are an in between tier of diamond and iron.

    Regolith Tools

The disadvantage of Regolith tools, is that they are very slow, for example, the Regolith sword will take a few more seconds than normal to attack. The Regolith sword has an impressive knock back which makes up for it however. Regolith tools are also immune to burning, like Netherite are.

A Regolith shovel can break through stone, making it the only shovel capable of breaking through stone. However, it will immediately break if used in combat.

A Regolith Pickaxe is very good when mining out ores, as it is quite fast. But it cannot mine out its own tier nor can it mine out obsidian. Regolith Pickaxes also inflict tremendous damage on iron golems.

Regolith hoes can till farmland at a relatively fast rate, but will break if you try to use them in combat. They can also break in rain.

Regolith tools are good for using in the Nether, as they do not burn up in lava or fire. They are weak to water however.

    Blocks

Regolith Block - this is a block that is gray in appearance and can only be found in the Lunar biome. This block, though extremely hard, is fragile in water, and immediately breaks upon contact with water. Endermen cannot pick this block up, and it is resistant to all explosions except by the Wither. Can be crafted into Regolith tools.

Ender Lava - this is found several layers deep under the Lunar Biome. Below this is the Void. Ender Lava differs from regular lava, in which its purple and pink, deals damage and on the same tick of damage, teleport you back to the Lunar surface on a random location of Regolith. It also sets you on purple fire as well, and emits end particles as well. Ender Lava flows 8 blocks in the End and is very fast, but flows only 4 blocks in the Nether and Overworld. It is slow in the Nether but fast in the Overworld, while still flowing only 4 blocks. Ender Lava also teleports items, but they cannot burn up. The purple fire is just an aesthetic, and it does not inflict any damage whatsoever. Ender Lava can be scooped up in a bucket and poured. If an Endermen touches this, the Enderman will be unaffected by this, and not take any damage. You can swim in Ender Lava as if it were water, but only if in the End. Infinite sources of Ender Lava also are only possible in the End. If the source block of End Lava is in regular Lava, it will become a Regolith Block, same as in water, except it's End stone. If flowing Ender Lava goes on regular lava, End stone brick will be created, same with water. Unlike regular Lava, Ender Lava does not do as much damage as regular lava. Ender Lava also has a chance of inflicting the Levitate effect, so it can actually be useful.

    Hardcore should have keepInventory on

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 03:37 PM PST

Since continuing after dying in this mode with commands is cheating, I present the keepInventory gamerule to be on in hardcore worlds. Why? Well, you get to spectate after dying, so why not allow your spectator inventory to have your items so you can remember what you had on death?

    Shield and Leg Armor enchantments

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 03:31 PM PST

Shields and Armor really have some slim pickings for enchantments. Here's a few to add onto the pile I'm sure which exists somewhere.

    Shield

    • Absorb - blocked damage prompts brief regeneration, the duration based on the level of the enchantment.
    • Timed - blocking right before being hit will bounce some of the damage back and knock the foe away. 0.5 second window or 1 second window, depending on enchantment level.
    • Readied - the shield is ready immediately and recovers much faster after being knocked down.
    • Guige - having the shield in your hotbar will replicate the block effect on attacks that hit your backside.

    Leg Armor

    • Sheath - Weapons and tools are readied much faster, and their attack rates are slightly increased.
    • Taskmaster - sprinting does not consume Hunger so quickly, and you are more easily saturated when you've over-eaten.
    • Springs - Jump higher, and long-jump a greater distance after sprinting.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 02:42 AM PST

Craft a Campfire with Soul Soil instead of Coal/Charcoal to get a Soul Campfire.

It behaves like a normal Campfire, but the flame is blue, it emits less light, it deals more damage when stepped on and items cook slightly faster.

Throwing a splash potion to a campfire will produce smoke with status effects

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 12:40 AM PST

My idea is, if you throw like a splash potion of poison into a campfire, it will not be extinguished, but anyone who touched the smoke will gain the status effect for about 3 seconds. Instant health & harming are instant.

If you throw like, a speed 2 potion, you will also get speed 2 for 3 seconds. If you throw a harming 2 potion, it will harm you for a split second, unless if you stay inside the smoke, which will harm you continuously + damage if you touch the campfire.

It will last depending on how long the splash potion effect originally is. If you brew a strength 2 potion, the smoke will contain strength 2 for 1,5 minutes. Throwing a splash water bottle will extinguish the campfire and cancel the status effect smoke.

Edit: It will not overlap; for instance, if you throw a splash regen, then splash jump boost, it will have the jump boost instead of regen + jump boost.

Biome beacon - a beacon that creates a biome for a short distance. An idea that will solve several problems at once

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 01:23 AM PST

A biome beacon is a block similar to a regular beacon that can be used to create a mini-biome on any territory. Range of 15-25 blocks.

And so he was not too imbalanced, I suggest this craft: Ordinary lighthouse craft, 5 glasses, one Nezer star, and instead of 3 blocks of obsidian, we use 3 blocks of Nezerite. Yes, it's expensive, but it's worth it to have a biome near your home that you want.

To create a biome, you need to enter the inventory of this block. Then, choose the biome that you want (not all biomes and subbiomes, since there are too many of them) and you need to invest a certain amount of your experience, depending on the rarity of this biome. After that, the biome changes after some time, without destroying anything in this area.

    2 problems are solved immediately:

    1) the remaining experience that you have nowhere to use;

    2) making a farm from the lower stars or having them in large numbers, you can spend them on creating a biome that is needed for something.

Ask questions and / or add suggestions to change this idea!

    Hoglin Ham

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 07:33 AM PST

Rarely Hoglins will drop their uncooked leg.

It gives as much Saturation and Hunger as 2 Raw Porkchops if eaten like this.

Cook it to get Hoglin Ham.

Fully eating it will drop one Bone (cooked or raw).

It gives as much Hunger and as much Saturation as 4 Cooked Porkchops.

    Enderbeasts

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 09:38 AM PST

Enderbeasts naturally spawn at the end islands. They are under the surface and look like blocks, but if you step on them you get caught and can' t escape anymore. The only ways to escape are feeding it with some food so it is not hungry anymore or you pearl out. If you are out, you can attack it with a sword. If you dont get out, the enderbeast will stand up and walk toward the nearest void and jump in it so you will die. If you are able to make it out and you kill it, it drops "enderflesh". You can roast enderflesh or eat it raw. I think you should be able to live in the end by getting food, and this is one way.
