The Withered Forest - a third nether forest variant to complete the set Posted: 17 Mar 2020 06:18 PM PDT The Nether doesn't have a "wither" themed biome, which is a little odd in my opinion considering the wither originates from the Nether and it has wither skeletons. This is where the Withered Forest steps in. The Withered Forest comes with its own set of blocks:
It also comes with the new Gray Shroomlight, while the Warped Forest will have Purple Shroomlight, and the existing one will become Orange Shroomlight. The Withered Forest would house wither skeletons, and perhaps a new mob - some sort of spirit? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Mar 2020 11:16 AM PDT Real simple. When an item with this gets damaged, it will repair itself... with the player's hunger. It will drain hunger to repair itself. If the player has 0 hunger, it will use the player's health instead. If the player is underwater, it will use the player's bubble meter instead. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Mar 2020 01:52 PM PDT The anchor looks like a cauldron with nether portal material inside, I think it would look cool if a player using it appeared inside. [link] [comments] |
New Nether Biome - Glowstone Valley Posted: 18 Mar 2020 06:02 AM PDT This biome would not be as common as Warped Forest, but they would be some sort of Mushroom Fields. In this biome Glowstone would be pretty common, and chests containing glowstone can be found. But, watch out! There might be some Piglins around, as this biome always spawns bordering Crimson Forests. Possible structure for this biome would be Piglin Mineshaft, with gold rates the same as in Badlands biome (Piglins must have had that gold mined). Any more suggestions for this biome? Posted: 18 Mar 2020 05:27 AM PDT It's just anticlimatic that you can build a giant castle, but the biggest gate you can built into it are just 2 x 2 blocks size. (Aka two doors besides each other) Doors are technically already groups of two blocks which act like a single entity, why we can't go one step further? [link] [comments] |
Villagers are more likely to breed / breed faster when a jukebox is playing Posted: 18 Mar 2020 07:41 AM PDT This would add some actual functionality to jukeboxes and could speed up villager breeders. Additionally villagers could have a music preference trait which would determine effectiveness of each disk [link] [comments] |
Allow us to modify fuel in custom recipes Posted: 18 Mar 2020 10:37 AM PDT Allow us to modify fuel in datapack recipes. Example: [link] [comments] |
the hoe (or axe) instant breaks leaves or at least breaks it faster than your hand Posted: 18 Mar 2020 04:01 PM PDT it's a pain in the butt to wait for leaves to decay and not everyone wants leaf blocks (plus you can still get leaf blocks anyways by shears or silk touch, i don't want that removed) so pretty much what the title says [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Mar 2020 03:26 AM PDT If that doesn't work there can be a glass lamp that can change into the colours of the beam shining on it. This will be what the observer can see changing. [link] [comments] |
Respawn Anchors dont overwrite a Bed’s respawn point. Posted: 18 Mar 2020 01:19 PM PDT Basically, a respawn anchor would have its respawn data "a layer above" a bed's. You would be able to toggle whether an anchor will respawn you there the same way you set your spawn there now. This way, when you run out of charges and then die, you're sent back to your bed instead of the world spawn. [link] [comments] |
Blazing Sprouts- the crimson counterpart to the Nether Sprouts Posted: 18 Mar 2020 11:08 AM PDT Both the crimson and warped forests have their own variants of stems, wart blocks, nylium, roots, fungi, and now, vines, with the addition of the twisting vines. Nether sprouts are the only exception, as they only spawn in warped forests. Because of this, I think crimson forests should generate with "blazing sprouts", which would be the same shape and size as nether sprouts, but would have a crimson hue to them, and would have yellow tips on the end of them (just like the green tips on the nether sprouts). If these were added, I also think the nether sprouts should be renamed, because they aren't the only sprouts in the nether. [link] [comments] |
Riptide should work under blocks that are dripping water Posted: 18 Mar 2020 08:07 AM PDT Blocks that have water above them and air below them drip water. So why shouldn't Riptide work under them like it does in the rain? That would let you build large platforms and tunnels where Riptide always works, for challenge maps and stuff. [link] [comments] |

If another nether biome is added in 1.16, it SHOULDNT be a forest!! Posted: 18 Mar 2020 12:59 AM PDT The nether alreadly has 2 forests, which is 50% of its biome count. So 50% of the new nether's landscape are forests, which is quite weird, but yet acceptable. If the rate was more than 50%(a new nether forest added), it would make the nether a colored-forestry-cave instead of a nether. The only scenario when a new forest could be added is after the nether has at least 5 non-forest biomes(currently has 2). dont suggest more forests if you dont want to make the nether a forestry cave please [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Mar 2020 12:09 PM PDT The new nether update has brought a lot to the table, one of them being ancient debris. This idea suggests a structure that serves as a reason for why the debris is there in the first place. "scattered pieces of rubbish or remains" is the definition of debris. Since it implies remains i think it would be reasonable to have a small structure within the nether that would be partly made of ancient debris. The structure would range in size from being as big as the wells that sometimes spawn in deserts to the sunken villages in oceans. The structure would be made mainly out of nether bricks and magma. The ruins would contain 2 to 4 pieces of ancient debris and would generate at the same rate as ancient debris. Within the structure there would be chests containing gold, gold nuggets, mushrooms and nether bricks. In addition to this 2 to 3 diamonds could rarely be found in the chests. Furnaces could also be found in the ruins in order to suggest that whoever built the structures had knowledge of netherite. In conclusion, i believe that this structure could serve as a fun addition to the game by providing amounts of debris as well as giving people things to speculate about. Please leave your feedback and ideas. Thank you for reading! [link] [comments] |
Add netherite versions of [insert any item here] to the FPS list Posted: 18 Mar 2020 09:48 AM PDT I think we've seen way too many of them already. There are like 10 of them spanning from the beginning of February to now, with nearly all of the tools covered: bows, arrows, shields, tridents (twice), shulker boxes (twice), buckets, and elytras. Rename Polished Basalt to Smooth Basalt Posted: 18 Mar 2020 03:46 PM PDT This is just a little fix for a small inconsistency with the block's name. Polished Basalt is made by smelting it in a Furnace, so it does not actually get polished like the other polished blocks (andesite etc.) and a different name like Smooth Basalt would be a better fit for it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Mar 2020 03:44 PM PDT The addition of the respawn anchor and ability to obtain gold with a wooden pickaxe have made living solely in the nether almost completely viable. However, it is currently impossible to obtain netherite without a furnace to smelt ancient debris. Here's the progression as of right now. Crimson / Warped Stems --> Wood Tools Wood tools --> Gold Gold --> Crying Obsidian (trading with piglins) Crying Obsidian --> Respawn Anchor Nether Fortress --> Diamonds Diamonds --> Ancient Debris Ancient Debris --> Netherite (NOT POSSIBLE without a furnace) There are a few solutions to this. One, basalt could be used to craft a furnace, much like how multiple wood types can be used to craft sticks or crafting tables. I would even extend this to andesite, diorite and granite for furnaces. They are all essentially stone variants. This would be a simple change that makes the most sense. Two, a new type of furnace could be crafted, maybe with nether brick? Or, possibly blast furnaces could spawn in nether fortresses or a potential new structure? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Mar 2020 07:43 AM PDT I've had this sitting in the back of my mind for years, and now that 1.16 is on the way it's time for it to shine. Let's do it. I haven't seen a single suggestion for life in the lava oceans except for one about seaweed. I suggest adding a few different species of fish to the dimension:
Note about flammability: Obviously, all these fish items will have to be fireproof in order for hunting them 1.14 style to work. I also suggest that blaze powder, blaze rods, and wither skeleton skulls be made fireproof. But how do you fish these mobs? I'd thought of that too. If you try to use a normal fishing rod in the nether, it will act normally until the fish grabs onto it, when you are jerked physically forward and the line is pulled "tight" as the fish tries to get away. Right clicking or waiting long enough loses the fish. You'll need something a little stronger. To craft a reinforced fishing rod, I've got several ideas. One was to use chains in place of string, giving mojang yet another idea to implement them. but if you don't like that, I'm okay with using blaze rods in place of sticks, coating the rod with iron in rolls eyes the smith-ing ta-ble, or some other less awesome idea. The point is, once you've got one, you can haul in fish from the nether oceans (although you still get scarily pulled forwards towards the lava, partly as an indicator of when to click, partly just for fear and fun factor. Of course, you can also enchant your reinforced fishing rod with LotS and use it to try and get treasure! Here are some cool ideas for loot: JUNK: Gold nuggets, leather, rotten flesh, warped/crimson fungus, weeping/twisted vines, quartz, gold boots TREASURE: Gold ingots, blaze rods, wither bones (see here), golden carrots, lava buckets, wither skeleton skulls, netherite scrap (only if afk fishing is removed!!) My other post about fishing improvements: https://www.reddit.com/r/minecraftsuggestions/comments/fhgpws/fishing_update_actually_useful_for_food_not_op/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf [link] [comments] |
Redo spider animations and physics; maybe add more spiders Posted: 18 Mar 2020 10:00 AM PDT Spiders are really cool and have a lot of opportunities and it's a shame that their physics aren't... the greatest. I think that their models should be reworked and they should have more attacks/poses. When climbing a wall, they should rotate to turn sideways, but not instantly. Their legs should reach towards the wall and pull the rest of their body up. They should also be able to climb ceilings. When in attack mode, spiders would point their bodies up and lunge at the pray after around a second before reverting to their normal attacks. Occasionally, cave spiders could place cobwebs in corners. This might not be a good idea, though, because then it would allow for effortless string farms without actually needing to find a spawner. There could also be more variants of spiders. Cave spiders could be renamed to Poisonous Spiders and actual Cave Spiders would spawn with a blueish hue and white eyes. These spiders would look different, having large, cubic sacks attached to them that explode into baby cave spiders once killed. They could spawn in new webbed caves and sound out scavengers every so often that hunt down food like players. I imagine the ones that stay inside of their nests being around 3x3 blocks, the scavengers being 2x2, and the babies being 1x1. [link] [comments] |
If you shift and left click with a rocket towards the sky you should take off Posted: 18 Mar 2020 04:14 PM PDT I feel like it would make it easier to take off rather than finding a cliff to jump off of. And it would make it less risky for laggy servers. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Mar 2020 08:17 AM PDT The item description placement for the Classic UI covers up a ton of inventory space, especially if the item in question has a ton of enchantments. I suggest to move the item description off to the side. [link] [comments] |
Make the Nether Wastes more interesting Posted: 18 Mar 2020 03:41 PM PDT All the new biomes have interesting features, and in comparison the nether wastes are just plain boring. I think they should stay pretty similar to how they were before, but a few changes could be made to make them more interesting. Here are some suggestions:
Pretty simple, quartz spikes appear around the place, as the wastes are the primary source of quartz in the new update. This would indeed make quartz a lot easier to find, but in the new update it is harder to find in the new biomes, and to be honest most people mine the quartz ore for the xp. To reduce quartz yield from these crystals, there could be new block, quartz crystal, which the spikes are made from. These would be white semi transparent blocks that would drop 0, 1, or 2 quartz, or itself when mined with silk touch. It could not be crafted. Fortune could be used to augment yield.
Small lakes doted around the terrain filled with lava, surrounded by magma blocks. Pretty simple.
Old broken pillars of nether brick are found scarcely in the wastes, and perhaps even some long forgotten chests with loot for the player. [link] [comments] |
