Posted: 16 Mar 2020 05:54 AM PDT Fungus+fungus+bowl= fungus stew, this stew is just like normal mushroom stew, but gives poisoning effect. Fungus stew+milk bucket= fungus stew with milk, which doesn't give you poison effect. [link] [comments] |
CTRL + Right Clicking on a Composter with a stack of seeds will compost them all. Posted: 16 Mar 2020 10:46 AM PDT In other words it'll put them all into the composter. And yes, it doesn't have to be a stack or just seeds, whatever can be compostable. It could also be Shift + RClick. [link] [comments] |
Wearable Witch Hats and How to Get Them Posted: 16 Mar 2020 08:25 AM PDT In the vanilla game, zombies/skeletons/creepers/wither skeletons killed by charged creepers drop their respective head (and wither skeleton skull can rarely be obtained through conventional methods). What if witches have a similar feature, but instead of dropping their head, they drop their hat? I think it'd be fun. Alternatively, witches killed by their fellow witch may drop their hat. As with mob heads, witch hats may be used similarly, allowing the player to sneak closer to witches without provoking them. They may also grant potion-related effects, such as giving a slight boost to positive status effects and slightly weakening the negative status effects. [link] [comments] |
More consistent dispensers for target-block redstone (“launcher”/“shooter”?) Posted: 16 Mar 2020 12:29 PM PDT If you've experimented with the upcoming target block and you've used dispensers, you might've noticed the direction of a fired projectile is slightly random, and projectiles don't go all that far. I think it'd be convenient to have a variation of the dispenser that shoots exactly the same every time (possibly farther as well.) This would make target blocks more useful and reliable as a redstone component, and take randomness out of the picture. Maybe it's drawback is that it only works with projectiles (arrows, snowballs, etc) and cannot put out items/buckets. Also I'd imagine it's slightly pricier (maybe requiring a crossbow? Or two bows? Although either would suck for mass crafting.) Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Some new biome ideas for the End Posted: 16 Mar 2020 02:35 PM PDT Ender Hills: a huge End island with mountainous terrain, perfect for spawning End Cities Gateway Islands: there are 20, one for every Dragon killed. They are medium-sized, flat, barren islands where very little Endermen spawn compared to the rest of the islands. Enderman Plains: a flat, large island on which more Endermen than normal spawn. Higher chance of finding End Cities. End Cave Islands: huge islands where vast open caves spawn. Potentially contains a new ore or fluid. You might even find a new Underground End City. These cities are shorter but wider and can contain things like Crashed End Ships and Shulker Infested Rooms. Corrupted Islands: Oop, something happened when this world was generated! Looks like a piece of the Overworld generated here...Find Cows, Sheep, Chickens, Grass, Trees, Dirt, Stone, Ores, and maybe even an End Portal Room underground, leading back to the Overworld. Shulker Hives: islands that hold large amounts of Shulkers. No chorus trees spawn here. Chorus Forests: like the name says, huge islands covered in chorus trees. Sometimes you might get the occasional Enderman or Shulker. End Lake: Large islands with huge lakes in their centers, which are filled with a new purple fluid. Overgrown Chorus Forest: Hey, what happened to these chorus trees? They have...logs, and...leaves?!? These beautiful deep violet trees can make all the things other planks can. [link] [comments] |
Named banner on map not turning. Posted: 16 Mar 2020 11:35 AM PDT My suggestion may actually be a bug that has not been fixed. To clarrify, if you click a named banner with a map, it shows up on the map. If you put that map on item frame, it still stays labeled. My suggestion is as you click the map to spin it in the item frame, the name doesn't spin with the map to stay readable. [link] [comments] |
Weaponized Tools with Netherite Posted: 16 Mar 2020 12:52 PM PDT I had this idea a while back- what if netherite tools were could all be effectively used as weapons, reflecting the hostility of the dimension in which they are forged. This could range from simply upping the damage significantly compared to diamond and changing the textures to make them look crueler and more wicked (similar to what they did with the helmet) to providing fully-fledged enchantments/abilities for each of them. Netherite Axe This is the most obvious - make the axe more brutal-looking and curve the handle back slightly, and maybe allow it to be enchanted with sharpness on an enchanting table - as if the tool is more suited to being used as a weapon than its diamond equivalent. No additional enchantment is required, as axes are already going to get one in the combat test. Netherite Shovel Lengthen and narrow the head to make it appear sharper and more spear-like, increase the reach to that of the trident (upcoming Experimental Combat Test), and if impaling is ever made into a sharpness equivalent for stabbing weapons (pls yes) allow shovels to be enchanted with it too. Netherite Pickaxe Don't change the texture - it's beautiful. sniffs But if if you have to, make one end pointed, like a real pickaxe, and allow it to be enchanted with fire aspect, knockback, and maybe the axe enchantment (whatever it turns out to be). Netherite Hoe Hoes are getting some attention in this update! Let's take it one step further with the netherite scythe, which looks much scarier than the peaceful farming hoes. This is a hoe for WAR, and thus it gets sharpness, sweeping edge, and a new enchantment known as Reap which grants a chance to inflict slowness on a hit. [link] [comments] |
Piglins should reject iron ingots when bartering Posted: 15 Mar 2020 10:53 PM PDT Currently when bartering, Piglins will inspect the gold ingot you throw them for a few seconds before giving you an item in return. I think it could be fun to have Piglins examine other items too. For example, if you throw them an iron ingot, they would examine it for a bit, realize it isn't gold, and either attack the player or refuse to barter again for a while. This could even be done with other ores. Depending on how close it looks to gold, a Piglin will examine it for longer. So they might look at a diamond or quartz or whatever for 2 seconds, iron for 4, and gold for the full 6. Since netherite ingots are part gold, a Piglin could accept it after the full 6 seconds, but they would offer things from a modified loot table since what they really want is gold. Rare items could be made even more rare because the Piglin is miffed about the gold being crafted in an irreversible way. Alternatively, bartering with netherite could use the original loot table from before 20w09a. This could be a dastardly way to fool inexperienced players into making a bad deal. [link] [comments] |
Make the Heart of the Sea obtainable only from the Ocean Monument Posted: 16 Mar 2020 04:28 AM PDT Either as a drop by the Elder Guardian, or in a loot chest. This would be a good change to make because the present drops in Ocean Monuments are underwhelming at best. Also, it doesn't make too much sense imo that something literally called the heart of the sea is sitting in a random chest somewhere lol. Instead of the heart of the sea, buried treasure chests would have an Ocean Monument explorer map. These could also perhaps be in shipwrecks, as if those ships were looking for the monument when they sank. Thanks for reading! :) [link] [comments] |
Open chest even while right-clicking on the sign that's on the chest. Posted: 16 Mar 2020 08:13 AM PDT It would make sorting systems so much easier, it would be a great QoL change! It's no fun having to search for the corner of the block. Item frames are of course also a block where this happens but right clicking on it already has a function, so no luck I guess? Posted: 16 Mar 2020 11:54 AM PDT I have an idea for an alternative to iron farms. As most of you probably know, there is some controversy about if iron farms should stay or go. My idea is that there will be a new mob that is able to phase through blocks like a vex, and will help with mining. The mob will sometimes spawn a vein of ore in place of stone. Mostly iron, however. This will help with iron being completely deprived from a certain area. On top of that, it will occasionally, it will emit a "sonar" that reveals ores (or maybe caves) within a radius around it. This can help miners not be super burnt out of mining by sometimes being able to see a rare mob that helps them mine. It is exploitable by having a new enchantment on a pickaxe in your hand or in an item frame (item frame has less effect). The new enchantment would draw the mob to the pickaxe, thereby enabling a new type of ore farm without weird village mechanics. It's also sort of beginner friendly. This also gives us a chance to implement an item people have been wanting for a long time. A (Edit: i see that "ghost miner" is rejected. So... maybe not the "sonar" thing. Maybe not even the lantern thing. Probably just the creation of ores. but anyway, vex-like mob that generates ores and is exploitable in late-game.) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Mar 2020 11:41 AM PDT In the old console version of Minecraft there was an option to reset the nether and the end since the worlds were not infinite yet. With the coming nether update it would be nice to have this feature added back to console and added to java and bedrock as it would allow you to reset the entirety of the nether without having to dig through game file on java. It would also be useful on bedrock as there isn't a way to reset chunks properly without causing problems to world generation. This feature would be in world settings. It should be compatible with advancements and achievements as resetting a few chunks isn't really cheating and thus shouldn't disable them. Flak Rockets as Anti-Elytra Measures (also Phantoms!) Posted: 16 Mar 2020 01:25 PM PDT Ever since crossbows were added in 1.14, I've been spending my days blissfully launching elegantly colored explosives at my friends. Now I'd like to suggest an addition to the world of rocket-propelled weaponry intended to target my most hated enemies: People who think they're so cool because they can fly and you can't cause you're out of rockets. Introducing flak rockets. If a firework rocket is crafted using some redstone dust (or maybe an entire observer) along with the stars, paper, and gunpowder, it will become a flak rocket. If a flak rocket flies past a player or other mob, it instantly explodes, so you don't have to worry about it flying too far. This takes firework-launching to the next level and allows you to fight phantoms with them (It's currently possible, but very difficult). But wait, there's more! If you're wondering how this connects to flying mobs, the flak rocket also "shreds" elytra and phantoms' wings, temporarily disabling them (exactly like how axes disable the shield) and dealing extra damage specifically to the elytra itself. This causes players who are hit to scarily drop before their elytra is re-engaged, killing them if they aren't careful. (I've thought about this mechanic before, but u/boomerang_blade independently came up with it and expressed it better than I could have here. The shred duration depends on the number of stars that effectively hit the player, as well as the distance from the explosion. Large ball stars deal less shredding damage as a tradeoff for being more likely to hit. [link] [comments] |
Convert stone stairs into stone brick stairs in a stonecutter. Posted: 15 Mar 2020 05:49 PM PDT It just makes sense, you can make stone blocks into stone brick stairs, so why can't you make stone stairs into stone brick stairs? It's incredibly annoying if you miss click, for instance, me: I'm making a huge temple in survival, and now I have 64 stone stairs that are useless, and there is no way to make them useful. All that this accomplishes is to frustrate. [link] [comments] |
Eating Sea Grass restores 5 breath bubbles Posted: 16 Mar 2020 10:52 AM PDT There should be a food, likely something found in the water, that when eating restores 5 breath bubbles. My thinking is Sea Grass since it's somewhat difficult to get as it needs silk touch. It would make more sense if there was some new 'magical' item. Either way it would be cool to have a weaker way to restore the breath meter. This would stack with respiration. Item could still be consumed if under the effect of water breathing. This would be a neat way to allow the player to work/survive temporarily if they realized they forgot a potion or water breathing or don't have access to a conduit. [link] [comments] |
Change Zombie Pigmen/Piglins expressions when they’re hostile Posted: 15 Mar 2020 04:50 PM PDT Not a very necessary or major change, but one that could be useful. Similar to wolves or endermen, when a Zombie Pigman/Piglin is struck, and every one in the area starts attacking, have their expression be a bit more aggressive, even if it's just making their eyes or, or something of that manner. Imagine you previously attacked a Zombie Pigman/Piglin, and wiped out the group. You're still exploring the Nether, and you come across another group of them, but you're not sure if they'll attack you or not. If their expression changed, you could be able to tell, "Oh, they WILL attack me." or "Oh, they WON'T attack me.". Convenient! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Mar 2020 04:16 PM PDT It kinda stands out, as all other mobs have arms and legs made of a single 'block'. I know the Dragon is big and this requires a more complex model (could be simified quite a bit imo tho), but the change to the legs would be barely noticeable in the end (ba-dum tss) [link] [comments] |

Posted: 16 Mar 2020 04:10 PM PDT The quiver, it's a great item with a texture once planed to be in game. My idea is that the quiver would be crafted: 1 string 3 leather The quiver would increase the speed of an arrow coming out of the bow by 10%. It would also be stable similar to leather armor. The quiver would be placed in a new slot in the same spot such as the Backpack a feature being considered by Mojang right now. It would be able to hold 3 stacks of arrows and compatible with infinity on bows. [link] [comments] |
Dye netherite armor and tools with the smithing table. Posted: 16 Mar 2020 04:01 PM PDT Currently, the only armor that can be dyed is leather. This is cool, but really only useful for stuff like team mini games. You rarely make leather armor in survival, and if you do you probably never dye it. Even then, you'll move to iron pretty quickly. This could be a good way to customise your gear late game. All netherite tools as well as the sword and armor could be dyed in the smithing table. I suggest that rather than using dyes, various minerals in the game could be used to colour the appropriate piece. Coal-Black Quartz-White Gold-Yellow Iron-Grey Diamond-Light blue Lapis-dark blue Redstone-Red Emerald-Green You could put 2 in at once to get another colour. e.g- gold and redstone to make orange. I believe the current system covers all colours but let me know if I'm missing any. [link] [comments] |
Mod/Fanmade Boss Fight Idea: The Composite Posted: 16 Mar 2020 03:54 PM PDT Boss Fight: The Composite This boss is created by you create a 6 by 6 cobblestone square, and then placing 1 drop inside from at least 15 different hostile mobs. The inside of the square will turn rainbow, and detonate in a 9x9 block radius after 10 seconds. When the Composite finally appears, he will look almost normal, but will glow with almost immeasurable power. He will start off neutral, but you may fight him by pulling out your sword within 10 blocks of him, showing you wish to challenge him. He will accept your challenge, and the fight will begin. He will have the abilities of the mobs from which you stole the item for his summoning, and naturally has the combined HP of all the mobs you used. He'll combine abilities with ease and skill. For example, having Wither Skeletons, Husks, Strays and anything that poisons, he'll shoot arrows with all of the effects simultaneously. Another combo is using Enderman to hide from you for long periods of time, while using Witch and Wither to heal health, bit by bit. His AI is made to be able to think on the fly, and determine which ability would be the best to use. He has no natural auto-healing, but will occasionally use potions of healing, if you spawned him using drops from a Witch, and he gains the healing factor of the Wither, if he was used to spawn it. He gains the various resistances and armor of the mobs used to summon him, so he can either be a pushover, if you use weak mobs, or the ultimate opponent of you use strong mobs. When you manage to kill him, he drop EXP equal to the amount you'd get for killing one of each of the mobs he's composed of. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Mar 2020 03:52 PM PDT These villages would have houses that stay up in the tall trees of the jungle and would have bridges in the sky that connect them together. The houses would be made out of jungle wood and would even have ladders from the treehouses that go down to the ground. Another way to differentiate the jungle village from other villages is to have the villagers have their own texture and have all of the cats become ocelots. [link] [comments] |
