Waterloggable path blocks to make puddles Posted: 28 Apr 2020 06:06 AM PDT Grass paths should be able to be waterlogged to create puddles. It would be an amazing design for mapmaking, too [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2020 06:09 AM PDT You should be able to use paper as fuel in a furnace. [link] [comments] |
You should be able to enchant maps with curse of vanishing Posted: 28 Apr 2020 12:22 AM PDT You can enchant compasses with curse of vanishing in 1.16. The devs say it's because if a player kills you, they can take your lodestone compass and track your base. Well, the same goes for maps! Maps also point into a specific point plus can't be deactivated by breaking a lodestone. I think this would be a nice addition for pvp servers/anarchy servers. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2020 08:38 AM PDT I dont know if they have this yet, but a 'whats new tab' in the inventory showing all the latest blocks, items and spawn eggs from the latest snapshot/update [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2020 10:28 AM PDT There should be a chance to find an area (with at least 2 villages) that is completely controlled by pillagers. They would have set up mini towers in the villages and there would be more pillager patrols and chests with emeralds and other loot found in the villages. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2020 10:27 AM PDT More shields that you can craft from iron, gold, diamond, and netherite. Each shield will have more durability (obviously) and each shield will have different knockbacks. Like, for the iron theres +1 knockback and diamond +2 and so on. Gold wlll be on par with iron and have less durability. The netherite shield, however, has a 30% chance of stunning or slowing the enemy's movements for 1 second. The shields would also be likely to have more enchantments and the better the enchantments, the longer the stun or slowness would last (from 1s of slowness to 4s of slowness.). [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2020 04:58 AM PDT This update would rewamp the night-skies of minecraft. This would be aesthetic update. There would be more stars and in distant you could see colorfull nebulas and galaxies. There would be this purple static nebula where you could see some of the end islands. The sky would be different in different biome types (Layered nightsky): Plains, forest, taiga, swamp ( and the snowy and large wariants) would have less stars visible in the sky. You can not see nebula in these biomes. Dessert, jungle, savanna and oceans would have more stars visible. You could see the nebulas. Introducing rare events to the night skies: -Northern lights would fill the skies rarely in snowy biomes. This event would make hostile mobs spawn less frequently. -Meteor showers and comets would be also rare. This event will increase the spawning rate of creepers. -Shooting stars would rarely happen when there is no night-sky events happening. Spotting a shooting star would give you currently unused (in survival) luck effect. -Solar eclipse. New or anchient things found in the world: -Meteor craters. These would generate in any biome. Craters can be filled in water, or entirely underwater -Meteors. These would generate under the surface. These are made out of a new kind of block called meteorite. -Illager observatory. They are made out of dark oak and they have large telescope (old kind) on the roof. These would have loot chests that has a new item called telescope. This item makes zooming in vanilla possible. This item cannot be crafted. -New music that plays in night-time. -Star-maps will drop from evokers or illusioners. -phantoms in the end New weathers: Cloudless sky and cloudy sky. Posted: 28 Apr 2020 10:25 AM PDT a rare large squid-like creature that spawns near the shipwrecks, you could say it's like a boss mob or just a mob. It would have the amount of health of an iron golem and does twice the damage of a drown. They can throw you up out of the water and can choke you. But, it's weakness is long-range, get far enough away from its tentacles and you can pluck it with the trident or a bow. if you manage to kill the Kraken, you get the "King of the Sea" achievement. The Kraken can drop its teeth, which can be used to make bone meal, or Kraken arrows, with do more damage to sea mobs do you have any ideas? [link] [comments] |

Picture books to explain obscure game mechanics to new players Posted: 28 Apr 2020 08:20 AM PDT I think it could be interesting if chests in places like mineshafts or strongholds had a new type of loot, the picture book. These books would be only one page long, and they would show a simple diagram or illustration (drawn in the pixelated Minecraft style, of course). For example, a book might show a diagram of a basic Redstone logic gate, or a roughly drawn picture of a player deflecting a Ghast's fireball. Basically, picture books would explain the kinds of complex game mechanics that we often take for granted nowadays. What do you guys think? [link] [comments] |
Pyrotechnist Villager Profession Posted: 28 Apr 2020 03:50 AM PDT A new profession for the Villagers: the Pyrotechnist! The Pyrotechnist sells you Gunpowder, various Firework Rockets, Firework Stars, TNT, Redstone Dust, Fire Charges, and Flint and Steels for Emeralds. Their job site block can be either a Campfire or a Soul Campfire. [link] [comments] |
Skull charge banner pattern in nether fortress chests. Posted: 28 Apr 2020 01:08 PM PDT Piglins have their banner pattern in bastions so why doesn't the another civilisation have one, especially since they are in the game already? [link] [comments] |
Putting leather over your armor Posted: 28 Apr 2020 01:08 PM PDT The idea of dying your leather armor is a cool concept, but doesn't get used very much because leather armor is very weak. To make leather armor better, you could be able to put it over the armor you already have, like iron or diamond, as a way to color your armor, and just look better [link] [comments] |
The more you defeat the ender dragon, the more broken and "decayed" the pillars become Posted: 28 Apr 2020 04:42 AM PDT It would be more interesting to see streaks/spots of crying obsidian on the pillars, which increase in number the more times you defeat the ender dragon. In my opinion, the pillars should also look as if they are decaying, so some blocks would be missing from the pillars to establish this {the "decaying" of each pillar depends on how many times you defeat the ender dragon}. Posted: 28 Apr 2020 04:33 AM PDT Warped cabins would be rare structures made of warped wood hidden in the warped forests. These would be a reward for the eagle-eyed ones who can find it. Inside would be some chests , crafting tables , furnaces. The loot could be basic resources for the nether , for example: magma cream (for fire resistance potions or even potions themselves), soul lanterns or golden armor (for piglins) a saddle (for striders) and even a loadstone or respawn anchor. This would be a good addition as the warped forests don't really have special structures [link] [comments] |
Ocean Monument gold blocks changed to Lapis and Diamond blocks Posted: 28 Apr 2020 12:43 AM PDT Basically, 8 gold blocks are useless, you can find way more in Nether, where it is useful. And gold blocks don't feel like good reward after exploring whole monument. Instead, there should be diamond and lapis blocks. You may ask: "why lapis and diamond? " or "why both?" Imagine If ancient race, who build guardians wanted to make map of the ocean. They would build cube map, and using lapis marking deeper spots and diamonds to mark near shore spots and because they are only blue ores, they use them. Later ancient race closed that map for some reason... Now, how would lapis and diamond spawn there? Cube will now have always be 25% made of diamond blocks (Like u/PeartriceBoi suggested) and rest made from lapis, in random pattern (yes, random pattern in 2x2x2 cube does not make sense, but it would be little touch to make it more map like). Edit: As many of you suggested, there will still be gold, will it be instead of lapis blocks or will it be with lapis blocks? That is Mojang's decision, If they ever read this [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2020 05:37 AM PDT Netherite is a metal after all, and it adds consistency. You could even smelt netherite tools into nuggets. It would also be a useful way to put netherite into loot chests without making it easy to find a whole ingot or tool. Edit: due to some people missing the point: Minecraft is a free game of creativity. Do not forget that. Physics 101: sure it may be impractical, but if a furnace heated up hotter than lava, you could smelt something that could once survive lava. Yay! Minecraft doesn't have straitforward physics. It doesn't need them. Netherite ingots are 9 nuggets. Nuggets are rare as netherite, just a smaller amount. As for exploiting them, you can exploit every other thing in the game. There are even venella ghasts spitting out witches at high rates due to lag. If you want to spend days afk to get 1-2 nuggets, go ahead. It is rare to get a netherite hoe. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2020 11:03 AM PDT This deal will not stick around for more than 3 trades, and can not be repeated on the same villager It's just a small twist and would be fun to add [link] [comments] |
make abandoned villages the old villages style Posted: 28 Apr 2020 01:47 PM PDT |
Add a "No server found on this IP address" message Posted: 28 Apr 2020 11:56 AM PDT I think it would be cool to add a "No server has been found on this address" message when you try to connect to a non existing server instead of the Java gibberish you normally get. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2020 10:31 AM PDT It would be nice to have shelves that could display items in a nice fashion. I think they would look much nicer than just putting items in item frames. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2020 09:11 AM PDT Only spawning in Dark Oak & Spruce biomes, Beavers spend most of their time foraging for wood to build dams. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2020 01:25 PM PDT It would fit with other advancements that mine raft already has for that kind of stuff. [link] [comments] |
