Piglins that come to the Overworld should make an effort to return to the nether through the portal if they see the portal. Right now they stare at the portal but dont even make an effort to go back to the nether through the portal

Add extinct species to the game as mobs, so they are remembered forever.

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 06:35 AM PDT

Recently I came across the story of the Kauaʻi ʻōʻō. They were a bird species native to Hawaii, more specifically the island of Kauai (as the name implies) that were really fragile, yet beautiful. In the 20th century, their numbers began rapidly declining, mostly because of man's destruction of their habitat and predators - in 1987 they were declared extinct.

That year, the very last Kauaʻi ʻōʻō bird was recorded singing in hopes of attracting a female, but none were there to reply.

I think if the Kauaʻi ʻōʻō, or some other extinct species, were added to the game, we'd not only get some beautiful natural ambiance, but they would be preserved forever, digitally.

This addition could also show some love towards enviromentalism and alert people towards the daily extinction of hundreds of beautiful species! Oh, and it'd also be wholesome :)

If you have any suggestions or things to add, let me know!

When killed inside a bastion by a Piglin Brute, it should store your itens into a chest.

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 05:00 AM PDT

This would be a fun mechanic that would add to the lore of how to they get their loot and prevent your itens from despawning or from beeig helt by regular piglins. It also would make it harder to pick your itens back, as when you open the chest, a lot of piglins will aggro on you

Pigeon brutes have a unique weapon?

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 04:02 AM PDT

So there have been many posts that say that the new piglin brute is very boring. And I agree. So I have came up with a idea to make it more interesting.

I think the piglin brute should have a unique weapon. I was thinking a hammer. This golden hammer would have the same use time as an axe, but would have a area of effect, like the sweeping edge on a sword. The piglin brute could use it by smashing the ground and causing a shockwave/ area of effect. The damage would depend how far the player is. Furthermore, the hammer could deal a critical hit if damage is dealt when the player is very close.

I think adding a weapon like this would make the piglin brutes more interesting, and it would also make it desirable to kill the piglin brutes. What do you guys think?

Edit: I noticed the typo. I'm keeping it. A pigeon brute is a good idea.

Piglin brute improvments and hurling axes

    Posted: 25 Jun 2020 09:29 PM PDT

Piglin brutes (new mob in bedrock 1.16.2 betas) are a pretty bland at the moment especailly for a mid/late game mob as they have the same basic attack pattern as zombies, sword weilding piglins, zombified piglins, vindicators and some other mobs and no unique drops or behiavors.

To make them more unique and difficult they should throw their axes at players when they over eight blocks away or cannot reach the player. The axe does eight damage (if the axe is unenchanted and on normal difficulty) as the brutes melee attack and when the brute has thrown its axe it will go retrive it, find a new axe, or attack the player while doing-less damage, depending on how close the player and axe is.

The axe the brute has a chance (about 25% of brutes have it) to have a new enchantment called "hurling" with three levels and can only be obtained via the brute. The enchantment allows you to throw the axe like the piglin brute, doing eleven damage at level one sixteen damage at level two and twenty-one damage at level three. The thrown axe can also break wooden and glass blocks (but not chests so brutes wont destroy the the chests they protect and in case axes are thrown accidentally at chests) though only one block breaks per throw.

If this was added it would it would add uniquness and purpouse to the piglin brute which is somwhat currently unintresting.

Everyone hates diorite, andesite, and granite. So why not add better looking variants?

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 01:31 AM PDT

These blocks are objectively ugly (sorry Mojang, but they are a face only a mother could love), now don't get me wrong there are some amazing uses for them but they are far and few between.

Since they were added we have had a multitude of other stone blocks with variants that look nicer, these blocks have fallen into obscurity.

I believe that Mojang could reduce the anger a player gets when they hit a patch of the ugly stuff by adding better variants to the blocks.

The amount of man power it would take to add to the game (I coded a modit's waiting for approval for it in literally 30 mins), versus the benefit to the player is an amazing ratio.

For example, here are my texture ideas for brick variants.

These could then be made into walls, slabs, stairs, etc.

Chiseled D&A&G would also be nice to have!

    Zombie wolfs

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 01:14 PM PDT

Undead variation of wolfs that spawn randomly with a zombie and will follow said zombie while protecting it and attacking players the zombie targeted

Their eyes look like a zombie's, their fur is darker and have missing fur on some parts exposing the green skin

If they spawn alongside a zombie they have an old collar with a random color

a tamed zombie wolf would have 8-20% of chance to appear (depends on difficulty) and a wild zombie wolf would appear every 16 hostile mobs

A tamed zombie wolf will only attack players if harmed, if the owner zombie is harmed or if the zombie targets the player, if the zombie isn't targeting players or villagers it will attack nearby wolfs with the same chance of turning them into zombie as a zombie to turn a villager

The attacked wolfs that turn will be wild and will attack players but will prioritize nearby wolfs

They can be turned back with an golden raw meat and the same potion used for zombie villagers and once cured it will be instantly tamed by the player but a cured wolf that was already tamed won't attack the zombie it belonged to

    The grave digger

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 05:23 AM PDT

A villager like mob that will trade you items that you lost when you died. This could be like a wandering trader or a villager that requires an end chest (or something rare) too take up the job.

The grave digger could only sell some items and the higher the level the higher the chance of more items being recovered.

I will let you guys vote on what he/she should look like.

Sorry I couldn't think of a good name I will let you guys decide.

    Reinforced scaffolding

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 07:45 AM PDT

Ever been 65 blocks in the air, scaffolding over, and have to sit and wait for an entire stack of scaffolding to fall to the ground to continue moving over, only to have to wait for another stack literally two seconds later?

I suggest being able to combine scaffolding with iron ingots to make reinforced scaffolding that would act in place of one of the pillars.

If the player is using only the reinforced version, it should only extend 15 blocks or so before requiring another actual pillar.

    Locked Lodestones

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 08:41 AM PDT

Lodestones have a great texture. When used with stone bricks, for example, they stand out (unlike chiseled stone bricks) but don't stand out too much (unlike smooth stone). I, for one, would very much like to use them in builds.

However, the builds in question use a system of lodestones referred to as "waypoints" that guide the player. For the first of these builds, a stone keep on the side of a mountain, I used these blocks quite frequently, and couldn't find anything to swap them with.

To get around this, I propose adding a command that, much like locking containers, would lock lodestones and render them non-interactable, displaying the message "This lodestone is locked." It'd greatly benefit map-makers who'd like to use a system like mine.

Crying obsidian should let out a spark when trying to light a portal.

    Posted: 25 Jun 2020 05:01 PM PDT

Crying obsidian is like broken obsidian, a defunct block that is unusable for portals. So, trying to light a portal constructed with at least one block of crying obsidian will make the crying obsidian parts spark. Whilst the portal fails to open, the purplish sparks are harmful.

The sparks have a chance of burning the player, if the player is too close, or exploding the block. Block explosions create more sparks and a blast, which are guaranteed to burn the player and knock the player back.

    New and Better Dungeons

    Posted: 25 Jun 2020 11:38 PM PDT

Also referred to as spawner rooms. This could be done as part of the caves update. These rooms could be spiffed up a bit. Not only could the existing ones be changed, but Mojang could add new ones, as well. Firstly, make the dungeons reflect the mob they contain. Like a crafting bench and furnace for the zombie, fletching table for skeletons, webs for spiders, etc. There could be new dungeons based around more mobs. Like the drowned, the husks, strays. Maybe even living / not undead mobs like creepers, slimes, endermites, vexes (are they undead?), Even future mobs that don't exist yet and might exist in the caves update. Make these reflect the mob they contain. Kelp and stone bricks for the drowned, sandstone for the husk, a small cavern inside some glaciers for the stray. You could even make dungeons in the nether, like a big ribcage and skull for the skeletons in soul sand valleys, hidden away, isolated bits of fortress containing wither skeletons. The possibilities are vast. Of course there are balance issues to take into account but Mojang, being the game creating geniuses they are, could handle it

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 02:04 PM PDT

Sepal - a plant pet with unique mechanics

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 12:42 PM PDT

    Introduction

When it comes to pets, we have two types: rideable pets, like horses, which are used for traveling and carrying extra items, and the more domestic kind of pets, which includes dogs and cats. Out of all of these, only dogs are used for combat.

We also have not other mob "kingdoms" besides animals and golems (which aren't alive per se).

With this I introduce the Sepal, a sentient plant that can be tamed and help you fight, with several unique mechanics.

The name comes from sepals, an actual part of plants.

So, without further ado, the suggestion...

    Appearance

Sepals look like 1-1.5 block tall flowers. It's stem is about 4-6 pixels wide. It has 2 bigger leaves, one on each side and maybe some smaller ones.

The flower itself has a diameter of about a block.

Just below the flower, it had two eyes. Unlike most mobs, their eyes are 2x2.

The petals come in a variety of colours, so be sure to collect them all.

    Spawning

Sepals spawn rarely in forests (all kinds, maybe), jungles sunflower fields and, slightly more commonly, flower plains.

Some biomes have exclusive variants (like the jungle) and the relative rarity of each variant varies according to the biome.

    Behaviour

Like foxes, Sepals sleep at night. When they do, their flower closes (and probably their eyes too).

They can only sleep on overworld soil blocks. They can't be pushed when sleeping (because they're rooted)

They move by hopping for small distances and rotating their big leaves like an helicopter to fly for larger distances. This means *they don't teleport *to you when you're to far away (teleporting is just an easy solution to a bad AI).

They can only fly for a few seconds at a time.

During the day, they alternate between rooting themselves and flying around.

    They have two attacks:

    • Melee attack - rotates its leaves, dealing 2 damage (1♥).

    • Ranged attack - shoots it's petals. The petals fly in a straight line for about 10 blocks before starting to fall. Each petal deals 2-4 damage (1-2♥). When it runs out of petals, it has to wait a bit before they grow back.

    They have 8 health (4♥).

    They can heal themselves by:

    • rooting themselves in hydrated farmland;

    • rooting themselves in soil while exposed to rain;

    • rooting themselves after being in water (doesn't need to be a source block);

    • rooting themselves after being hit by a splash water bottle.

    Taming

Sepals can be tamed by giving them bone meal, taking 10 bone meal on average.

    Breeding

Sepals have a very unique breeding mechanic. It is not (totally) player controlled.

Sepals, as far as bees care, are just normal flowers and, as such, they will collect pollen from them. If a bee visits two Sepals without going back to a give/nest in between, the second Sepal becomes pollinated and a little bud appears. (I'm unsure whether the "baby" Sepal should be a block or a mob, but it shouldn't move either way.)

    Sepal variants

As I mentioned, there would be several variants, since exclusive to certain biomes.

Most of them differ only by the colour/shape of their petals.

The jungle variant has a more vibrant green (like jungle grass) and it's attacks have a chance of inflicting poison.

The sunflower variant (exclusive to sunflower fields) has more petals and can shoot in a rapid burst.

    (These are just some examples.)

    Final notes

With this post I hope to bring to Minecraft a new pet which, not only can use for battle, but also has a few unique mechanics.

While these mechanics might be more complex and somewhat annoying, compared with current pets, I intended them to reflect the needs of plants and incentive people to take care of nature. It even ties in with the rest of the game, encouraging exploration and giving bees another use.

Do you think the stats should change? Do you have any idea for a different taking method/item? Have you thought of another interesting variant?

If you have any feedback, please leave a comment.

    Boss Idea: Piglin Head Hunter

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 03:01 PM PDT

Biography: The Piglin Headhunter is an extremely rare variant of the Piglin that spawns exclusively to the crimson forest. He is a skilled fighter with years of experience hunting in the crimson forests of the Nether, he is taller and bulkier than his fellow piglins, but despite his size, he is quite fast and doesn't really produce much noise, only growling when hurt. He wears the skull of a hoglin as a mask that intimidates his opponents. His arsenal constists of a stone sword, a crossbow, some regeneration potions, and stacks of poison tipped arrows. He is a silent stalker, an ambush predator who hunts down hoglins, wither skeletons, and players for sport. When wounded in battle, he sometimes stops to drink a potion of regeneration, then continue his search for his prey. He still possesses some of the piglin's weaknesses, such as the fear of soul fire and turning into a zombified piglin in the overworld, but he doesn't care when you're equipped gold armor, he just desires to devour your flesh and add your skull in his trophy room. So always be alert for when you hear silent breathing or if you see a hoglin running away in fear without a group of piglins chasing it while you walk across dense crimson forests.

    Health: 47 hearts

    Armor Points: 5

Damage: Right Arm (Crossbow) 3 to 6 hearts

Left Arm (Stone Sword): 2.5 hearts (Easy) 3.5 hearts (Normal) 7 hearts (Hard)

Drops: Arrow of Poison (4%) Stone Sword (30%) Crossbow (20%) Potion of Regeneration (2%) Hoglin Skull (5%)

    Zombified Piglin Headhunter:

A zombified version of the Piglin Headhunter, he is as aggressive as a zombified hoglin, but is dumber and weaker than his live self due to his lack of weapons, and mostly because he's braindead, because he's a zombie.

    Health: 25 hearts

    Armor Points: 2

Damage: 2 hearts (Easy) 2.5 hearts (Normal) 4 hearts (Hard)

    Drops: Rotten Flesh (70%)

Pigs should be able to passively dig up brown mushrooms

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 06:09 AM PDT

Similar to pigs in real life being used to hunt underground truffles, this new feature will allow there to be more feasible passive mushroom farms. Currently, the most efficiently designed farms are still incredibly slow and limited. Brown mushrooms can be used for fermented spider eyes for potion brewing.

I believe that currently pigs show no extra value besides providing pork chops (who actually thinks that pig riding is essential). Cows provide leather and milk and sheep provide various wools. This change can help make farming pigs more functional.

Animals should be attracted to their food dropped on the ground.

    Posted: 25 Jun 2020 09:58 PM PDT

Basically animals should walk to their food if it is in a certain range. I think 6-7 blocks. Maybe they could eat it but only one item at a time so if you accidentally for example drop 48 carrots on the ground. a pig nearby wouldn't just eat it all, the pig would eat one carrot maybe per 3 seconds or something like that. This will also be useful for getting them in holes since you could just throw one on the ground and the animal would walk there. Also the animal should take priority for items on the ground rather than in a players hand, as this would make sense. Finally each animal could maybe have a different eating speed, just for more variety.

Edit: Food in item frames should not do anything to animals. as this would get annoying if you had decoration or a storage system and just because (for example) you put a seed in a item frame chickens will always walk there, which would be annoying.
