Items with names can never despawn

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 07:14 AM PDT

I expected to find this on the FPS list, but I didn't so.. If you name an item, the named item would never despawn, just like mobs. This would add an incentive to name things, besides it just being cool. Edit: People are saying this would cause tons of lag, and they are absolutely right. Maybe this would be a gamerule, and could be disabled.

    Baby piglin snitches

If baby piglins see you open a chest/hurt a piglin/ anything else that angers piglins, they will run and tell the others, making then hostile.

Killing an innocent Baby Piglin will give a new Omen-like Effect

    Posted: 05 Jul 2020 07:37 PM PDT

    Introduction

At the moment, if you anger Piglins, they will become hostile and try to kill you. This can easily be prevented if you throw some gold ingots on the ground. They just get distracted and completely forget about you. You can also just run away until you find a new group of Piglin's who are neutral.

My idea is if you kill a Baby Piglin, you will get a new Omen-like effect.

    Why?

Because Baby Piglins are innocent. They are completely passive and play around as you'd expect a baby to do. This is why there should be a heavy consequence for killing these little vulnerable and defenceless creatures.

    Effect Details/Specifications

This new effect will stay on you for half a Minecraft day (10 minutes) but can easily be removed by drinking milk.

If you have this effect, the following will happen:

    1. Gold will no longer distract Piglins. They will continue to try and kill you and completely ignore the gold.
    2. If you get too close to another group of Piglins, they will automatically become aggressive, whether you angered them or not in the first place.
    3. The Piglins aggro range will be increased from 16 blocks to 24 blocks

    Name?

Now, honestly, I haven't come up with a good name for this. I thought Piglin's Cry could work because it could indicate the Baby Piglin "Crying" to receive attention from the adults because they're in danger.

And/or Piglins commencing a "Battle Cry" as to declare you, the player, as a hostile and warning nearby Piglins of your presence.

I'm happy to hear any other name suggestions.

The strength effect gives a player the ability to open iron doors and trapdoors by right clicking

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 10:40 AM PDT

Pretty self explanatory, if you have an effect that makes you stronger you should be able to move these heavy doors. I'm sure people would be able to find clever and creative uses for this, besides it being a little attention to detail thing

Carpets shouldn't preven bookshelves from reaching the enchanting table to enhance it.

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 03:40 PM PDT

May be a silly suggestion, but this is for those decoration lovers.

Recently while I was decorating the floor of my enchanting room with carpets [Playing 1.15] I discovered that if you put wool carpets around an enchanting table, the bookshelves adjacent to these won't be able to give the enhancing effect to the enchanting table which is kind of weird, I think

What do you think? Don't forget to upvote if you agree.

    Wearing an illager banner

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 08:47 AM PDT

If you get your hands on an illager banner, you could wear it on your back as a captain, and pillagers won't attack you, kind of like how piglins won't attack you if you're wearing gold, and you can trade with the for saddles, crossbow enchantments and arrows

The Ghast Hive - My take on the idea, with some cool items thrown in.

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 05:42 AM PDT

Something I find quite strange is that it is quite common to hear ideas of a ghast hive. Of all mobs, it seems a bit weird for the ones that are pretty much ghosts to have a hive like regular insect-like animals.

However, the image of ghasts floating around a hive structure is pretty cool, so I can see why people like the idea.

Now, with the Nether update, a problem I have experienced is that there is pretty much no reason to go to the soul sand valley, besides farming ghast tears I suppose.

So I have designed a version of a ghast hive, to spawn in the soul sand valley which I hope preserves the ghostly nature of these mobs, and also offers some really cool items based around the mechanics, to encourage players to brave what is probably the most dangerous Nether biome.

So, here is the ghast hive: https://imgur.com/gallery/btisgJu

I really hope this interpretation of the hive is fitting to the ghast mob, and that the main reward, the phasing rod would be a great reward. There are so many uses for those kinds of mechanics, such as playing spleef without having to replace the broken blocks.

Thanks for reading, and please leave thoughts in the comments!

    A new liquid?

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 01:34 PM PDT

Since there is life in the nether now with mushrooms, hoglins, piglins, ect. There should be a new liquid that sustains them. I was thinking about a high salt concentration water that spreads a lot less like lava in overworked but still puts fires out. It would probably be found in warped biomes and rarely in crimson biomes. When mixed with a lava source block you get crying obsidian. You can also make a Blackstone generator like a cobble generator.

    Chandelier mob suggestion

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 07:38 AM PDT

A chandelier is a blaze-like mob that lives in the woodland mansions. It has the ability to emit light and its head is made of lapis lazuli. It attacks villagers at night and doesn't attack players unless provoked. The design is viewable on r/Minecraft.

Dragonstone (new blocks for the End exit portal)

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 01:52 PM PDT

The End exit portal has always been lacking. The magical portal that sends the player back to the overworld.. is a clump of bedrock. I think it's time for that to be changed.

Introducing Dragonstone! It's a new block that makes the End exit portal look better. The new-and-improved portal has lights that magically glow once the portal is activated!

It could also have "imitation" forms (because the block itself is unbreakable) that the player could create in order to use the blocks in their builds.

    It would have 3 variants:

    1. Solid - No lights, just a simple 6-sided block
    2. Directional Light - A light would be on one side and would face towards you whenever you place it. It also doesn't need a redstone signal to activate! Just right click to activate/deactivate.
    3. 4-sided Light - A light would be on every side except the top and bottom. Once again, doesn't require a redstone signal to activate!

To see what the block might look like, you can go to this post I made on the r/Minecraft subreddit about the idea: https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/hlxhtj/end_portal_and_end_crystal_redesign_future/

Tamed foxes should follow the owner, just not the same way as other tameable mobs

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 07:38 AM PDT

Foxes are quite difficult to handle as pets. The only way to travel with them is with leads. They protect their owner when attacked, but they just don't care when their owner walks away. It just doesn't make sense because canines see their owners as a pack member and pack members dont leave each other behind. So i think a tamed fox should wander around when its owner is nearby like normal but when they get too far away it feels like it fell behind and tries to catch up. This doesn't let the fox teleport just helps players travel with foxes without worrying about leads.

Netherite armor should be more open to being repaired

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 03:19 PM PDT

Netherite armor should be able to be repaired by any of it's components, but each component will have a varying repair level.

    Here are the items from least repairing to most repairing;

    Gold ingot

    Netherite Scrap

    Diamond

    Netherite ingot

Using Netherite Ingots to repair Netherite gear will work the best by far compared to the other materials, while using gold barely repairs it at all.

You get a new effect, Satiety, when around a campfire

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 02:44 PM PDT

Being around a campfire during a dark night makes you feel safe and sound, you shouldn't have a care in the world. At least in real life. In Minecraft, using a campfire is just a more expensive version of a torch or lantern, apart from cooking things slowly, it doesn't accomplish much.

Satiety is an effect that's relation to saturation is clear, satiety is to saturation as regeneration is to Instant Health.

When you have this effect, your hunger will slowly increase until it's full, though it won't give you any saturation.

If you're actively losing hunger, such as sprinting or sprint-jumping, hunger will still be reduced because of how slow the process is. being in at least 3 blocks of a campfire will fill you up, and ever so slowly heal you as a byproduct.

However, if applied through commands, you can edit the level from 1 and have it be a higher effect

Even if you don't get saturation from the effect, it will still heal you if you're at full hunger, but much slower than if you ate food.

    Bamboo Practice Sword

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 10:41 AM PDT

This would be a "sword" crafted with [only/mostly] bamboo. It would have a few interesting characteristics that wouldn't require "a lot" of balancing. It would do little, to no, damage, but have some knockback built in (or even just the default amount). Also, It could be used to break bamboo stalks without incurring any durability damage. Also: It cannot be enchanted at all. This would give similar "melee" counterpart to the Snowball.

tl;dr - Bamboo makes bamboo sword that can break bamboo stalks easy.

    Caravans/trading groups

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 11:07 AM PDT

Caravans would be incredibly rare, and consist of many wandering Traders, Farmers, Shepherds, Weapon smiths, Armourers, Librarians, Clerics,Cartographers whos maps lead you to temples, and Iron golem guards, all trading decent loot (horse armor, gold ingots, Iron ingots, Name tags, cakes, colored wool, etc). To some really good loot(rare enchanting books, Ender eyes, Potions, heck even some diamond and very few Netherite gear, etc). Along with some animals(Parrots, Cats, and dogs, maybe even domesticated bear cubs) with skins you wouldn't normally be able to get, and are quite rare that are up for trade.

Now, where would these rare animals be placed? Dogs and Cats would follow the Caravan, while Parrots would simply be on the shoulders of the villagers, as for the bear cubs, Idk.

These traveling and trading villagers would be susceptible to illagers attacks along with zombies

    What do you guys think?

    Piglin Should Offer Gunpowder

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 11:45 AM PDT

On Bedrock Edition creeper farms suck and get like a stack an hour but if you could get like 3-16 or somthing per gold then maybe gunpowder would be easier to get. I dont know but I hate having to sit for hours to get 5 stacks but just being able to get some for just throwing out some gold would be great.

Soul Fire should have faces in it like Soul Sand, instead of just being recolored fire.

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 11:21 AM PDT

There's probably only room for one or a few in the center of the fire, but changing it to make it look more like it's name, fire made of literal lost souls , would be appropriate. And I don't think it's too creepy or unnerving, soul sand already has faces on it, and it is what's burning.

    Improve potion brewing.

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 12:47 PM PDT

Brewing has a couple of rough edges in it's current state.

First, they have some unused potions, the mundane and thick potions and the only thing they do is waste ingredients. I suggest to either use them for crafting other potions or to simply remove them.

Second, one can get a brewing stand from a village but it can't be used until a player finds a blaze, at which point getting it early is almost meaningless. I suggest to add the capacity to brew potions that doesn't require nether wart (currently only weakness) without blaze powder, so the player can get the ability to heal zombie villagers prior to visiting a nether fortress or bastion. It can also be tied to giving uses for mundane and thick potions, by letting the mundane potion be the base of weakness and the thick potion for instant healing. Some people like to play with natural regeneration off, so it can become a cheaper source of healing once the player could gather melon and glowstone.

A dispenser should be able to get water from a cauldron if it has a glass bottle or bucket inside

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 09:40 AM PDT

Turning on a dispenser that holds a glass bottle/bucket when it's facing a cauldron that is filled with water should take the water out and fill the bottle/bucket. This also applies to cauldrons with lava and potions in them in Bedrock Edition. This feature should be added so that it is more in line with other dispenser functions.

Change death animations and death screen

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 10:50 AM PDT

This was origionally posted by u/ITaHiR_Requiem but got 3 upvotes so im reposting (with permission)

None of the death animations would be gory or inappropriate (for obvious reasons) but I think each death should get a new one. Some examples would be:

    • Dying in fire or lava would quickly remove pixels from the player as well as fade their body to grey
    • Falling from a high place would squish the player model to half size
    • Getting entity crammed would have a similar effect to falling but would make the player model thinner
    • Dying in the void would fade a player until they become invisible
    • Dying to a player or mob (not creepers) would have the current death animation
    • blowing up would leave the dead player model on fire as well as turn the part of it that touched the explosion black

These sound elaborate but would take the same amount of time as the current death animation and the dead player model would still quickly vanish. The death screens would also change for particular deaths. For instance, if you die in a fire or in lava the death screen has an orange tint instead of a grey one and the top of the screen has a fire animation.

Another thanks to u/ITaHiR_Requiem for letting me post this, let me know of any criticisms

Enable Photos to be viewed in the reddit post (Not Photo Only, not Link in the post, but actual photo in the Reddit Suggestion post - as it was when r/minecraftsuggestions started

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 02:34 PM PDT

Clarification: This suggestion is for POSTS. Please read carefully before commenting/removing due to 'We don't want image only posts...' 'But you already CAN put images in a post...'those are not the focus of this suggestion.

There are 4 default reddit post formats. They are:

    POST

    IMAGE & VIDEO

    LINK

    POLL

This post is directly referring to a feature offered in the POST format.

In the POST format there is an option (default on), to enable the creator of a post to include a Table, an Image, or a Video. Sometime around the reformatting of reddit (to the 'Fancy Pants Editor') either a setting was changed by one of r/minecraftsuggestions curators or by something quirky in the transition - images were no longer able to be inserted into a post posted here.

"But...you can just link to an image using..." ~ Yes...that is the common one, and the vast majority of those links are dead - go to a 404 page - require a login to view, etc. etc. etc. Before the reformatting, I specifically (on an older account) offered a suggestion that included detailed photos and illustrations. That can't be done any more, we must instead use 3rd party programs, open a new tab browser to do so. In the worst of situations, these links are an opportunity for malicious individual to link to malicious places.

If images were once again permitted on this subreddit, as they were years ago, we would once again be able to fully understand and offer explanation to suggestions in one page.

MORE SO - WHEN IMAGES ARE INSERTED DIRECTLY TO A POST, AND NOT VIA LINKED, THEY STAY WITH THE POST. MEANING, WHEN SEARCHING/REVIEWING POSTS - THOSE IMAGES ARE STILL THERE.

This can't be viewed now, because when the 'new' reddit layout happened, the previous entries with images were deleted. Searching through this subreddits past you'll see there are posts describing something seen in an image, and the image is not in the post.

Alas, this suggestion is just to enable users to FURTHER DETAIL their ideas with illustrative ideas INSIDE of their post. without having to consult another website that does not equally treat visitors. I.E. If someone is reading the MC suggestion on r/minecraftsuggestions they can see the imagines contained there in. If someone is reading the MC suggestion - but there's a link to see the image, then it's unknown if that link will function as claimed - and for how long.

"But this will make and idea more popular because people can see what the intention is, rather than just by reading." 100% - that is HOW IDEAS GET IMPLIMENTED. Written descriptions are an amazing start, but to truly translate across 100's of languages, educations, upbringings, cultural perspectives, visuals are the next step up from there.

AGAIN THIS POST IS NOT SUGGESTING THAT IMAGE ONLY POSTS BE ADDED. THIS POST IS SUGGESTING THE ENABLING OF IMAGE INSERTION DIRECTLY INTO POSTS INSTEAD OF LINKING TO THEM.

In short - there is much more to gain from allowing users to write out and draw out their ideas for others to understand instead of just writing it out.

    EXAMPLE:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/minecraftsuggestions/comments/fja2qw/sponges_once_earned_from_an_ocean_monument_will/

I would have loved to share the images I made to illustrate that suggestion fully - and would/could have answered a number of the comments that were posted in the comments. But due to the subreddits choice to disable the ability for posters to insert images directly into a post, that wasn't possible.

There are loads of ideas that I and others would like to share, but we know that while we can explain it, it's so easy to not understand our words.

    Example:

5 of the 6 adjacent sides of the spawn location are a Water Source Block, Water Logged Block, or Wet Sponge Block

While technically accurate, a text book image would go miles to help. Consider - text books we've all encountered often pair illustrations with descriptions to help others better understand.

Please enable users to directly insert images to their post. Please allow viewers of r/minecraftsuggetions to view images from a poster, without having to click on a link/open a 3rd party site.

    Keep on Keepin' on!

    Transcription Table

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 01:19 PM PDT

Transcription means to copy a written work. The Transcription Table in Minecraft may allow for written books to be copied at the expense of a book, and ink and quill, and in the case of enchanted books, a large sum of experience.

The block's GUI top slot will be for a stack of ink and quills. Three slots will line up underneath:

    □ -> □ = □

The first slot is for a written or enchanted book. The next slot is for a book to write in (the item in this slot will be consumed). The third slot is the result. Underneath is a text area to display the level cost.

The block could be used to do the following:

    • Written Books may be copied for no level cost.

    • Enchanted Books may be copied onto blank books for a level cost equal to three times the enchantment rank i.e. copying a book with Sharpness V and Soul Speed III will cost 24 levels. Mending is special and will cost 22 levels to copy.

    • Combine Written Books, writing the contents of the first book to the end of the second Writen Book.

    • Copy enchantments from a tool, or armour to a blank book and destroy the tool or armour in the process (Problem: This would be inconsistent with the other functions as the item in the first slot will be destroyed instead of the second slot). This should cost similar to copying enchanted books.

I don't know if replacing anvil functionality is a good idea at this stage in development, but this block could also be used to:

    • Combine Enchanted Books.

    • Enchant tools or armour with an Enchanted Book, destroying the book.

Similar to a loom or stone cutter, this block has an intuitive responsibility: copying and combining books. I wasn't aware there was a recipe to copy written books until today. Regardless, a block like this would encourage me to think about that possibility. Maybe you feel the same way.

There should be an option in the main menu to look at "Recently deleted Minecraft worlds".

    Posted: 06 Jul 2020 06:38 AM PDT

I would love to have this option because I deleted some old Minecraft worlds that have really good seeds to copy on a new world, and now I sadly can't view them. I know you can do the trick where you go in the game file and recover them, then you can look at the seed and even go into the world again, but it would nice to have a more player-friendly method for recovering worlds.
