    Thick fog

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 04:17 AM PDT

The fog would be a weather event similar to thunderstorms, it would make for amazing ambiance and would add a few new things...

The fog event itself would create a misty filter and reduce the distance able to be seen, night vision will help reduce it's effects

Fog has the same chance of occurring as thunderstorms but has a way higher chance of occurring if it rains during sunrise or dawn

Using a trident with the riptide enchant will work and fishing will have the same cath rate bonus as it would normally have whilst raining

Fog would have a chance of summoning a "thick fog cloud", a separate lingering potion-like entity with a lot more particles, stepping into one will give players the blindness 1 effect

If a horse steps inside it'll vanish and return as a zombie horse, finally being able to obtain one in survival, there's also a chance the cloud will dissipate and spawn from 5 to 10 zombies around it within a certain radius

Optionally, Giants could also have a really small chance of spawning but they would serve only as ambience, fading into the fog if approached.

    The color of the fog would varie depending on the biome;

Forest type biomes: White fog Dry biomes: No fog event at all, not even the cloud entity Snowy biomes: pale blue fog

    Estranged Traveler

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 01:14 AM PDT

Weird and off-putting, the estranged traveler only starts spawning once a trip to the nether has been made, which then it appears anywhere except the end. This cloaked figure resembles a piglin that somehow kept his head in order even after zombification. Shunned from his tribe, the estranged traveler wanders the nether and overworld as a neutral mob, willing to make trades with anyone who is friendly. His hood keeps his rotten face covered and leaves his snout and feet exposed. He keeps his arms folded until he is attacked, to which he takes his hood off, revealing his rotten face. He equips his sword or crossbow and fights back against his attacker. Unlike normal piglin, he won't attack you for doing things piglins hate and doesn't require armor. He still keeps his love for gold and will happily barter with you for stuff like soul soil, magma blocks, warped and crimson fungus, soul speed and other weird things found in the Nether. He may also give you a new item, the strange compass. This compass points to a bastion remnant, possibly being where his tribe lives. Due to his half-zombie nature, he is very jittery with erratic, unpredictable movements. He will sprint randomly, randomly pull out his weapon and also make hostile noises when he isn't provoked. The estranged traveler runs from normal piglins and brutes but are okay with zombified piglins. In fact, zombified piglins will come to the aid of the estranged traveler if he is attacked.

Update: Someone made a model of what the Estranged Traveler could look like in Minecraft. Shout out to u/TKCoolReddit for making this model https://twitter.com/Tekayo63/status/1282758452339769350?s=19

Piglins should be scared of endermen.

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 04:35 AM PDT

When piglins see a enderman they should cover their eyes or run away.

Even if piglins is scared of blue fire they should try to avoid endermen if possible.

The enderman should stare at the piglin until it gets bored so when they cover their eyes, try to mine the gold ore nearby.

The chief is a mob spawning in throne armories in villages.

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 05:10 AM PDT

The chief is a mob spawning in throne armories in villages.

A sketch of a chief, its UI and pictures of a throne armory

The chief is an idea for a mob I had recently. It would be a mob very similar to the normal villager, however it would work quite differently. Since I am both going to cover the chief and the structure it spawns in, I had to choose between two flairs and just went with the "mob" flair.

    About the chief:

    - Generates only in throne armories, in villages. The generation of a throne armory in a village isn't guaranteed.

    - There is one chief max. per village.

    - No villagers can become the chief, chiefs generate naturally only.

    - It can breed with villagers and other chiefs, however it will always give birth to a standard villager.

    - After getting killed, chiefs don't respawn.

    - It has a bit more health than standard villagers ( 26 health points? )

    - Like standard villagers, it can trade, however it always exchanges you its emeralds for pillager / evoker / raid captain drops ( banners, crossbows, totems of undying ). A trade for totems of undying can be very useful for hardcore mode players. ( see UI above )

    - Chiefs don't level up at trading ( see UI above ).

    - Even after winning a raid or turning them back into chiefs after a zombification, chiefs never change their trades, unless if you hurt them.

    - If you have already traded with a chief, it will interact with villagers who made worse their trades for you so that they bring their prices back to normal.

    - When a raid happens, the first thing pillagers are chasing is the chief of the village, if there is one.

    - When a raid gets announced via a bell in a village, the chief runs along the pathways of the villlage, to make sure everybody's home.

    - If the chief of a village dies, villagers in that village will panic for a few seconds.

    - Of course, hurting chiefs will anger iron golems.

    - If a chief notices you near its throne armory, it will make sure to go sit on its throne.

    - Chiefs can repair iron golems, helping new players at learning how to fix iron golems.

    - In terms of looks, I tried to sketch a chief ( see above ). I think some horns on an helmet could make it look more important than other villagers. The weird pixels around his neck are supposed to be fur.

    About throne armories:

    - Generates in villages, like other standard buildings in villages. There can only be one armory per village.

    - Throne armories aren't guaranteed to generate in villages ( like I already said ), but when they do, they always include a chief.

    - Its door is made out of iron, which proves how important of a stucture it is ( see pictures above )

    - It as a throne inside, the color of it is random and matches the color of the beds in the village it generates in ( see pictures above ).

    - In the interior, it has two staircases leading to the throne, and two staircases leading to a basement.

    - This basement includes a bed for the chief to sleep in, two chests with high chances of containing emeralds, a T-shaped arrangement of iron blocks along with an item frame containing a carved pumpkin, hinting new players at creating iron golems ( see pictures above ).

    - The pictures shown here are hte ones of a throne armory generating in a village in a plains biome, in taiga biomes, the oak logs are replaced with spruce logs, same thing for snow biomes and savannahs, with acacia logs this time. In desert villages, throne armories generate with stripped jungle logs and sandstone instead of the cobblestone and mossy cobblestone.

    - When a raid happens in a village, villagers who aren't near houses with empty beds go in the throne armory.

    - I know it's weird that I named this an armory, because it's not even related to armor. I'm just struggling to find a name for this thing. It's not a tower, not a castle, not an outpost, I can't find anything lol. If you have an idea for a name please tell me

Thank you so much for reading this!

    Very rare mob variants

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 01:29 AM PDT

When we see a pink sheep in our worlds we get really excited, right? It's a very rare thing to occur. We want to keep the sheep to show everyone how lucky we are! So what about adding more mobs like this? This would make exploring way more rewarding and fun when you get to come across a very rare mob. These mobs are purely cosmetic and behave the same as their regular counterparts. They can only spawn naturally so you can't come across them by breeding. Here is some example ideas for these rare mobs:

    -Pink dolphin

    -Black wolf

    -Blue eyed villager

-White donkey unicorn (I dunno it just sounds more fun than a horse unicorn)

-Black ocelot (like a black panther)

-Headless skeleton (I originally thought of a headless zombie but that would inculde gore on the texture)

-Rabbit with antlers (reference to the cryptid jackalope)

    Smelt Obsidian Back into Lava

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 12:59 PM PDT

If you place an bucket in the output slot and one obsidian in the top slot, you can smelt it to make a bucket of lava. I propose it takes one coal to smelt one obsidian and it take as long as 8 blocks would.

Edit: It also serves as infinite lava as obsidian is infinite but it takes effort to get so it's grief proof essentially.

A potion that takes you to the place you died. Or retrieves all the items for you.

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 06:49 AM PDT

Remember the last time you died. Faar from home. Having to gather some equipment from your disorganised chests and set out the way you died hopping you wont forget where it was, get lost or meet the same end. Its horrible, isnt it. Well this potion would be just for sittuations like this. It wouldent be cheap at all of course. I was thinking it maybe could be nether wart, dragons breath, golden carrot, rabbits foot and gast tear. As i was saying not a cheap item in the slightest only used at the endgame. Would say it could make sense in the minecraft universe.

Edit: made it a suggestion on minecraft feedback make sure you vote on it. https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360071516932-A-potion-that-brings-you-to-the-place-you-die-d-at-

    Enchantment concept: Voidwalker

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 12:46 PM PDT

So we all know that if you fall into the void in the end you die and lose all your items. So I propose the Voidwalker enchantment.

The Voidwalker enchantment can be applied to boots and would drastically reduce the damage you take if you fall into the void. The enchantment would only be obtainable from piglin trading, strongholds and bastions and can not be found by fishing or enchantment tables. It would have 3 levels:

Level I: Half a heart every 3 seconds.

Level II: Half a heart every 5 seconds.

Level III: Half a heart every 10 seconds.

However this would be a bit too overpowered. To make it harder, the only book that piglins and strongholds give you are Voidwalker I, which can then be combined to make Voidwalker II, and then 2 of those for Voidwalker III. It would be hard to get but would be a pretty useful enchantment for building under the end and could be a life saver if your elytra breaks.

Rare blaze powder from Piglin bartering

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 02:00 PM PDT

If Blaze Powder were obtainable from piglin bartering, however rare, completion of Survival mode in Peaceful difficulty would become possible with some effort, without making speedruns trivial (see: when Eye Of Ender could be bought from villagers) or making the end accessible pre-nether.

This change would also make potions more accessible, as brewing stands are already obtainable through pregenerated structures but fuel is not.

Nerf the spawn rate of mobs in basalt deltas

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 01:30 PM PDT

I don't know how the situation in the basalt deltas is on java, but on bedrock it's very difficult to survive. The amount of magmas spawning is absolutely ridiculous. Add the fact that there are pockets of lava EVERYWHERE and ghasts, I've lost all my items more times there then in the rest of the world combined. Please nerf the spawn rate of magma cubes and ghasts. Please.

    Sky Renovation

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 12:23 PM PDT

The sky is rather bland isn't it? It has the phantom, weather and clouds.

    3 things.

As you can see that these are boring and are in dire need of a rework.

Phantom: This poor manta-ray/bat hybrid on paper seems like a good idea: A flying menace that punishes the player for not sleeping. But in practice it's more just harrases the player for not doing something that's optional. Not only this but phantoms hit hard and have high health for a flying creature.

To improve the phantom have it start off weak but get progressively stronger the more nights the player doesn't sleep. There should be some visual changes with the "less sleep" phantoms such as being bigger, different sounds, colour variation etc. Harder phantoms will give more XP and membrane.

Clouds: Should have a variation in colour, y-level and thickness. Clouds kinda just exist to fill up the sky and making them look nicer would be a good start.

Weather: Different strengths of rain from a light drizzle to a heavy cascade. Wind ambience. Lightning storms that sounds and feels powerful and terrifying. Snow that isn't just a stagnant blizzard.

That's some improvements and now here's some additions:

Cloud Dungeon-You take a dungeon and put it in the sky.

A cloud dungeon acts as a mid game challenge for the player which gives a variety of rewards.

The cloud dungeon is a collection of rooms with mob spawners and chests. The closer the rooms are to the centre of the dungeon the larger they are with the centre room being the biggest and hardest with lots of rare items in it.

The dungeon itself is built to look like a cloud so the rooms inside have a random y-levels.

The blocks the cloud dungeon is made from is "Dense Cloud" which acts like cobweb as you'll gradually sink while on it. Unlike cobweb you can jump on dense cloud which is how you an stay on top of it. Certain mobs that are light such as chickens, parrots, baby creatures, silverfish etc. are unaffected by the sinking while heavier mobs such as iron golems, large slimes, endermen etc. sink faster. Dense cloud requires silk touch to obtain. Dense cloud can be dyed.

Inside the centre of some cloud dungeons is a rare item called the "Nimbus Fragment". 4 are required to craft the cloud treads which are boots that:

Gives the same defense as chainmail armour Allows the wearer to walk on dense cloud and weather clouds like normal blocks Gives the wearer a 3 block double jump

Once the boots reach 1 durability, just like elytra, they'll be rendered useless instead of being outright destroyed.

    Dreams

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 08:25 AM PDT

Every time you sleep in a bed, there is a 5% chance you and every other player go into a dream world. you could be brought to a more faded and foggy version of your world with crazy events happening like a ender dragon suddenly appearing above you or a nether portal opening nearby, or you could be in a completely new place with new circumstances. Dying in the dream will wake you up and not let you sleep for the rest of the night. (As a result no other players can skip the night) each dream has an objective, completing that objective will reward you with a "good dream" buff which boosts speed, makes you less hungry, makes you mine faster, and gives more resistance, until exactly one day has passed. Dying will result in giving you a "nightmare" effect where you see fake mobs which are hallucinations and don't hurt you but seem real until they try to damage you which then they turn to dust and you are fine, you also have mild slowness and less mining speed.

    Spectral Armor

    Posted: 12 Jul 2020 08:23 PM PDT

Spectral Armor is a type of armor created in the Smithing Table. It is made with Chain Armor + Glowstone dust or blocks. It has the same armor points as normal Chainmail Armor, but each armor piece has 100 extra durability. It appears like normal Chain Armor, but with the yellow texture of Glowstone blocks or dust.

When a full set is worn, any mob in a 30 meter range receives the Glowing effect/is visible to the player through blocks while crouching. This may be effective looking for Piglin Brutes in a Bastion, looking for the last pillager in a raid, looking for Silverfish to find the portal room in a Stronghold, and many more helpful situations.

The drawback of the armor is the low defense, the hardness of obtaining a set of Chainmail Armor, and having to wear a full set.

What about a Pet Update? More specifically, pets should be able to level up.

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 10:27 AM PDT

As Minecraft gets more and more complex, I feel like the pet aspect of the game is being left behind. What I think would improve Minecraft would be more pets, pet variations, pet items, commands and pet progression. I wanna stick to rule 5 so I'm just gonna explain pet progression.

Pets being able to level up is something I want more than anything. I hate having a wolf for 50+ hours, giving it a name tag, changing its collar color, making him a little dog house only for him to die against an armored zombie while I'm fighting another mob. Pets should be able to get experience and it would increase their HP and damage output. Nothing OP but enough to increase their survivability.

Ghast's spawn rates need to be lowered.

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 02:59 PM PDT

I love the nether, and In my survival world I really want to make a cool castle in the nether, but the ghasts just stop me from doing it. They always spawn and destroy stuff, and personally, I'm starting to feel a little bit annoyed by it. I think that ghasts spawn rate needs to be lowered, so it would eventually be less annoying and more fun hunting for ghasts to make potions.

    Dimensional Enchanting

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 11:04 AM PDT

Disclaimer: this might be pushing rule 5 a bit, but its all based off of a central idea so I couldn't really post this as separate suggestions

    Dimensional Enchanting:

One thing that could make enchanting more interesting without changing the system too much would be if enchantments varied depending on the dimension you enchanted them in. There could be some universal enchantments such as unbreaking, but say soul speed and fire enchantments could be specific to the nether, and the end could have its own enchantments.

Obviously, new enchantments/curses would need to be made, but there are already a bunch of suggestions for these so I won't be including any.

A benefit of a system like this is that it would allow the developers to make enchantments that aren't necessarily compatible with all the others, since you won't have all enchantments be available for a single piece of gear, and it lets you make slight variations on enchantments for different dimensions that would be redundant if they were added in the current version.

    Curses:

Now, one of the side effects of enchanting in the nether/end could be that these dimensions (or only one of the two) has a chance to curse your item when you enchant it here. Of course, this drawback should be rewarded with better enchantments. Again, new curses would probably be necessary and there could be dimension specific curses should they choose to make this a feature in both the nether and the end.

This was my idea for a variation, but the devs could come up with a completely new change for the end or nether.

    Different Enchanting Requirements:

A way to make the enchanting process less repetitive would be to make the enchanting resources different in each dimension.

For example, enchanting in the nether could require quartz instead of lapis, and crying obsidian instead of bookcases. Again, the point here isn't the individual example, just that the enchanting method could be different for each dimension.

    Dimension Specific Gear:

    Final point:

An interesting drawback for more powerful gear could be that it can only accept enchantments from a specific dimension.

For example, Netherite gear could only accept enchantments that come from the nether. Putting diamond gear in a smithing table would remove all non-nether enchantments. Again, I'm not necessarily suggesting this example, just using it to explain.

    Conclusion:

Dimensional Enchanting would give the player more meaningful choices in terms of late game gear, making it more based on personal preference than an objective better choice.

What dimension suits your needs better? Will you use the more durable gear set even if it lacks certain useful enchantments? Will you take more powerful enchantments in exchange of cursing it and losing it forever if you die?

These are all choices that make the process more interesting.

Right now, the optimal gear set is pretty much the same for everyone. Only differences being mending/infinity on a bow (although 90% pick infinity), Protection or Projectile Protection, and Smite or Sharpness.

Hope this wasn't too long, tell me what you think!
