Wandering Villager should sell maps to biomes

    Posted: 13 Sep 2020 11:32 PM PDT

TL; DR: Make the wandering villager sell maps to (randomly selected) biomes - just like woodland mansion maps but for a biome.

At least for me, there is always one (or more) biome that I have trouble finding. Having the wandering villager sell such a map would imo be pretty cool and useful.

The biome sold doesn't have to be mesa; sometimes just a map to a jungle can be very helpful, especially for players who play on "large biomes".

It also fits the theme that the wandering villager is wandering and thus knows the location to random biomes.

More weather variations could be added

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 11:26 AM PDT

So I think it's kind of boring how there are only 3 weather types (sunny, rain and thunder, 4 if you count snow as a seperate one). I thought of a number of additions that would be cool.

    1. Cloudy

The sky is gray, looks like during rain but there's no actual rainfall.

    1. Dripping rain

Sky is gray, a few raindrops are falling but no heavy rain.

    1. Foggy

You basically get lower visibility like fog in real life.

    1. Heavier snowfall

It's obvious from the name. Snowflakes fall faster and more frequently, even from side to side (as if wind would be blowing it).

These wouldn't affect biomes that don't have rainfall like deserts and mesas. In snowy biomes only the foggy or the heavier snowfall would work. These weather types wouldn'tnecessarily follow each other like in real life (so if the weather is cloudy, you won't necessarily get rainfall after it). Of course these could be toggled in case you don't want them to be present on your server or testworld.

I hope I read the rules right and this post is not going to be removed. Thanks for reading.

being in above height limit will greet you with space, alien like sounds. being below y7 will make disturbing, glitchy and end like ambience.

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 11:08 AM PDT

ignoring the overworld ambience that is long time wanted, i think being so high or so down should make new ambiences as well.

at Y +256 the player should hear heavy wind sound as loop, and loop additions will be:

    -muffled beeps and boops

    -distorted angel choir

    -various "woosh" like sounds

    -"alien spaceship passing by" noise

    -really silent laser sound

-various bird noises that changes based on your biome

    -sun glaring

    -beacon humming sounds

-and perhaps pig noise along with wing flap (to reference pigs flying achievement)

while being below y7. the player will hear reversed warped forest loop along with

-that glitchy sound that appears in end soundtrack.

    -glitchy soul sand valley scream

    -enderman woops with echo

-"warped forest here" but reversed and cut short in the middle.

    -demonic screams and laughs

-clicking sounds like in basalt deltas

    -muffled shulker sounds

    • glitched "help" scream

    • beacon deactivation sound

you can try imagining all of them. I think this will fit in minecraft as it has many scary ambient noises. and will bring some life to dead parts of the game. what do you think of it?

If a TNT Block is struck by lightning it will detonate instantly and will have a bigger explosion than a normal TNT.

This mechanic can be very useful for destroy, find ores, create tunnel or find Netherite in the Nether. For example if we have enchanted tridents who summon thunder.

The Wandering Trader should sell bamboo and possibly cocoa beans.

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 06:30 AM PDT

He sells cactus, coral, even ice, but no, this one particular biome-exclusive thing isn't sold. And of course on my Large Biome world the "locatebiome" command reports that it cannot find any jungles "within reasonable distance." It couldn't find a desert either, but I can get cactus from the Trader and Rabbit's Feet from my cat, so that's fine, but I want scaffolding dammit! And chocolate too I guess.

Yes, I eventually gave in to check how far away the nearest jungle/desert was when exploring for thousands of blocks yielded no results, but the 'give' command feels like a step too far when it comes to cheating so I'd really rather not use it...

Snowballs should slow you down slightly for a small time

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 01:19 PM PDT

Throwing a snowball at a mob or player would give the player a white screen tint and would slow down players/mobs by 16% for 5 seconds.

When Pillagers are Done a Raid they Should Set the Village on Fire.

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 10:01 AM PDT

I think it would make more sense for them to light the village on fire after all villagers are killed. The pillagers should fire flame arrows which would set the houses on fire, while vindicators use flint and steels, if there are witches, witches should make sure nobody sets on fire with fire resistance potions. The ravager should also do something like trampling crops. This would give the player a feel of guilt when coming back to a raided village since they started it and they failed to protect the villagers.

This would be a cool addition.

Nether and End Ores-How it could be done.

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 01:55 PM PDT

For a while now, many have suggested that Overworld ores be brought to the Nether and End. This has always been an issue though, as it would remove a lot of uniqueness from the Overworld. Here is my proposal.

Overworld ores would not spawn in either dimension, apart from Nether Gold. Instead, Netherrack and Endstone variants could be crafted by surrounding the ore in endstone for an End version, or Netherrack for a Nether version. Builders who want some variety in their palettes in these dimensions I'm sure would appreciate this.

Drops would be the exact same. If silk touched, the ore is dropped, and if mined normally, the mineral is dropped (aside from Nether/End Iron and End Gold.)

I'm sure this could be expanded to include other blocks like sandstone and the -ites.

    End plant idea: Sensitive Stem

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 11:27 AM PDT

I think this plant could work pretty well when retroactively added to randomly generate in End Cities, or maybe it could be a good addition to new structures.

The Sensitive Stem is a directional block which can be placed in northern, southern, eastern, western, upward or downward orientation. It will then grow in exclusively one direction, specified by its placement orientation, until it hits a different block.

The core idea behind the plant is that when any mob stands on any part of the Sensitive Stem, it will begin swiftly retracting back into itself, until it's 1 block long. After it retracts and there are no mobs standing on it, it will quickly grow back to the size it had before retracting.

You should be able to connect minecarts with chains

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 10:43 AM PDT

If you right-click a minecart with a chain and then right click another one that is 1 block away or closer they connect and the second minecarts follows the first one and you can link as many as you want. That would give the furnace minecart some use that could be putting it at the front of a line of minecarts and it would drag all of them along or just to make a roller coaster where all of your friends can travel at once.

Piercing should ignore a small portion of Armor Protection

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 01:02 PM PDT

This would mean that if you shot someone in full netherite armor it would deal more damage versus using a crossbow without piercing, but using piercing on a unarmoured player would deal the same damage. This wouldent account for enchantments though and would also work on mobs. This is because its kind of like armor piercing rounds from a gun, inwhich the bullet pierces through more armor but has a defect of over penetration inwhich it does less damage if the arrow goes through the person. For the sake of simplicity it shouldent do less damage to unarmoured mobs or players.

(Piercing crossbows should ignore 6% armor each level of piercing, so in full unenchanted diamond armor, a piercing III crossbow would deal 3-3.5hp , so about 1-2 full hearts of damage).

    Zombie Horses

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 10:49 AM PDT

Zombie horses should be able to be obtained in survival by feeding a skeleton horse a golden apple. The horse would have more health than the skeleton horse, but burn in the day unless it had on horse armor.

Achievement for killing the dragon with end crystals

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 09:56 AM PDT

Killing the dragon with the very thing that gives it life? Feels kinda odd, could be a cool achievement. It could also teach players to avoid end crystals because they are so powerful. Maybe another achievement for killing the dragon with tower crystals? I don't have many name ideas, something like "You weren't supposed to do that" would be funny.

Breeding wolves should eventually result in dogs

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 07:10 AM PDT

Okay Mojang, so hear me out!

Something the players have been requesting for a long time now is to implement dogs and different dog breeds in the game.

But we still have the lovely Wolves! So, how could we deal with this issue, since we don't want to get rid of any mob, nor have to implement like 10 different mobs at once?

    I have an idea!

Just like in real life, the many dogs we have today came from generations of wolves that were more likely to stay with humans. As such, in Minecraft, the wolves would have a new and modified behavior: they would have the chance of forming wolf packs and wander around the biomes in search of food. The player would have two options:

    1. tame a naturally spawned wolf, perhaps the same current way, with bones, and it will become your companion. To do so, the wolf would need to have an interest in you, and head your way (sort of like what happened in real life);
    2. soothe the attack of a wolf pack by feeding them, or distracting them with food. Yeah! Since they're predators and you're walking around their biome, they might protect themselves if they feel threatened by the player;

The wolves, as a solution to the dog breeds, would have different skins, sort of like what we have for naturally spawned sheep (the player wouldn't be able to dye them, tho xD).

Their skin would vary from brownish to white and then black, and the player would have a chance of taming one of them. Not all! Some may only stay as 'wild wolves', which - and unbeknownst to the player - cannot be tamed (since not all of the wolves in real life were prompt to stay close to humans).

As you breed through the generations of wolves, you would eventually end up with a new mob, a Dog! A different, more docile version of the wild puppy we encounter on Taigas and snowy biomes.

I hope you guys like it and take into further consideration. This game and the team behind it is beyond amazing, and the fact that you guys listen to the community so much takes it a step further. Thank you for the incredible work you guys put on it.

Much love from a dear player <3

The ‘Post’, a new block variant

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 02:34 PM PDT

The Post is a new block variant (like slabs, walls, etc) that resembles a wall that isn't connected to anything, but much thicker. The dimensions are 13x13x16, (so it has a full blocks height). It won't connect to things on the side of it like walls, however, Posts do connect to semi blocks above or below them, such as slabs on the other side of the block, down facing stairs, and any other block like that. The extension will simply extend the height of the post.

Posts can be made out of the same material as walls, also including all logs, stripped logs, bark, and planks. They are crafted like: slab-1 block-2

    010

    020

    000

This will give you two Posts.

I feel like Minecraft should have these because they would make for a great decoration on houses, and no other block can be placed like this into slabs and stairs, so it could open up a lot more new possibilities when building.

    Abandoned structures buried underground

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 12:48 AM PDT

You know how in movies they find these big underground cities? I think that something similar could be implemented. A reasoning for this happening could be natural disasters or structures slowly sinking into the ground during large amounts of time.

It doesn't even have to be new structures. Things such as abandoned underground outposts or villages would be good enough!

The Ender Mouth: a predator that teleports other mobs to catch them…

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 11:42 AM PDT

The important thing is in the title. This monster, that I also hesitated to call the "Black Hole", chooses a prey and teleports it several times to get it closer and closer.

The entity itself is rather slow, and not big but surrounded by a black cloud that you don't want to step in. If you do, you're affected by Blindness, Slowness VI and Weakness III which makes it very hard to kill by close-ranged attacks. And most importantly, the Mouth slowly sucks your life until you die.

If you encounter it, it's possible to kill it with a bow, but your best hope is to run faster than it brings you back, and to avoid getting out of breath…

I wrote a complete (overly detailed) description on the Minecraft Feedback website, you can see it here.

    Nether mob idea

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 12:14 PM PDT

(this is pretty long I just wanted to be as descriptive as possible) There'd be essentially skeleton giants in the soul sand valley called the ancient ones. Instead of having bone blocks forming the shape of a ribcage, there'd be an actual mob buried in the ground that would wake up at times if provoked or just randomly. They would have 59 health points because of how long they've been alive, and would be passive relative to the player unless provoked. They would wander around the soulsand valley and after an ingame day go back to sleep again. (They are mainly for aesthetic) there would be a new ambience sound which is just the stomping of their feet and the rattling of their bones. If provoked while awake a boss bar would appear and all others would attempt to walk away or just sink into the sand. Two attacks, stomping and them leaning down to sweep their hand and the player. Normal skeletons have a chance to sit down next to them once said giant goes back to sleep. Theyre pretty slow, have knees bad posture, and are 100 blocks tall. Soul mist would cover their face. They cannot be killed, but cap at 1 health and go back into the ground. Piglins try actively avoid them. Ancient ones with go after rotten flesh (I guess to make themselves human again?). The only way to technically kill them is to get them into lava somehow. Speaking of lava, soul lava could be a thing and would blend between normal lava and itself between biomes.
