1.17 should also update Minecraft sun and moon

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 12:49 PM PST

1.17 overhauls the Overworld caves, but I think Minecraft should also update more of the Overworld. That thing is the sun and moon. They are quite bland at the moment, and lots of events in real-life, such are related to the sun and moon. In addition, none of them have been updated since 1.9.Here is my plan to change the sun and moon:

    (1) Solar Eclipses: A solar eclipse has a 1 in 90 chance of happening on each Minecraft day, and during this period, animals panic and hostile mobs spawn. It lasts the entire Minecraft day.

    (2) Lunar Eclipses: The full moon will be red in color. Has a 1 in 13 chance of happening on each full moon. Undead mobs are more deadly, they have a higher chance to spawn with armor and weapons.

    (3) Super Moons: The full moon will look 3 times the size of the normal full moon. Has a 1 in 5 chance of occurring on each full moon. Slimes will spawn in every biome, provided that the light level is 7 or less. They will also spawn more frequently in slime chunks regardless of light level. This makes super moons a great chance to get slimeballs.

    (4) Creeper Moon: Creepers are the game's icon and image, why not make them more special? Creeper moons only happen during full moon. These full moons have a 1 in 10 chance of happening each full moon. During this, creepers have a higher chance of spawning, with a 20% of being a charged one.

    (5) Diamond Moon: These full moons are very rare, about 1 in 100 chance of happening each full moon. During this event, no hostile mobs spawn, and turtle eggs will hatch 4 times faster than average. Crops will grow without the need of light. Higher chance of catching treasure when fishing.

Beacons should have night vision as an optional effect.

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 09:10 PM PST

Night vision is a pretty average effect, not super game-changing. I think it is pretty equal to something like jump boost or resistance. I'm debating whether it should be in the 2nd tier or the max tier along with regeneration, since it only has one level. (I know that regen has 2 lvls but in potions but I'm talking about beacons)

    Anyways, thanks for reading (:

Edit: I have posted this to the feedback site since people seem to like this idea. Go vote for it if you want!

Edit 2: My bad it is still pending approval. I will update when it is approved.

    1.17 Telescope Enchants?

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 09:05 AM PST

Hey, so my idea addresses the issue that many people have with the upcoming telescope for 1.17, it enables players to zoom in similar to the optifine zoom, but it has a major detriment-- a large black ring around the telescope that limits the field of view dramatically.

My idea is to add two new enchantments for the telescope in 1.17.

    1. True Sight (I, II, III) -- this enchantment makes the opaque ring around the viewing area more translucent, until level III it is almost invisible. So instead of having a huge black ring around the viewpoint, it would just be a bit faded or blurry. True Sight III would be almost identical visually to the optifine zoom. This would enable players without optifine to achieve the same effect, even if it means carrying one extra item in your inventory.
    2. Scope (I, II) -- this enchantment would enable the telescope to zoom in much further, however to keep it balanced I don't feel like you should be able to switch between different lenses. I think it would be better if you could have multiple telescopes that could either have no additional scope, Scope I, or Scope II. So Scope I wouldn't necessarily be "worse" than Scope II, it would just be a matter of preference for most players.

Let me know what you guys think! I feel like these would be a great addition to the game, and still have that "minecrafty" feel. Personally, I feel like it would really incentivize me to actually use a telescope in 1.17, as right now I feel like they could really use some changes.

P.S. don't really know what flair to use so I'm just gonna put General XD

Telescope/spyglass using animation should include both hands

Telescope/spyglass using animation should include both hands

    New snapshots came out!

Java players can now test amethyst, geodes, telescopes (apparently named 'spyglasses'), copper, lightning rods and much more!

Everything is awesome, but when testing the spyglass, I realized the animation feel a bit weird.
Look at this picture of me using the spyglass in third person:

Screenshot taken by me in a testing singleplayer world in the new snapshot.

Something just doesn't feel so right about that.

So I thought it would look better if the telescope/spyglass using animation should include both hands, like the crossbow.
But unlike the crossbow, I think this one should have one hand more at the front (supposedly it's the hand that gives direction and moves the telescope to target) and one more at the back of the telescope (the one that holds the spyglass still so that you can steer it right with the other one).

In my opinion, the off hand should be the one that's at the back ('the one that only holds it'), while the main (the more agile and skilled one) is the one that's at the front ('the one that steers it').

    And that's about it.

Thanks for reading and have a good day ;)

Ambient music fades away when a jukebox is playing

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 02:00 PM PST

This is just a small thing, but there's been many times I've wanted to vibe to a music disc, only to be rudely interrupted by some ambient music playing over it, and then I have to navigate to my sound settings to turn music off. In fact, some people I know just keep the music off all the time, even though they like the music itself.

So, I propose this suggestion to prevent that from happening. I don't want to have to turn off ambient music altogether, since I quite enjoy it, just not when it overlaps with other music.

What's more, this would also provide a "quick and dirty" way of skipping an ambient song you don't particularly enjoy.

    The copper hopper

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 06:29 AM PST

What I would like to see is a hopper made of copper that transports items by the stack, how this would work is that it would take a whole stack of items and if it's not a stack and leave it in the chest or whatever it's coming from and it will transport it through other copper hoppers into the next source but it will only work if it's a stack. And I could give a Redstone signal depending on how much items are in a copper hopper compared to a stack like half a sack or 16 will give you a weak Signal, 32 will give you a good signal, and 64 will get you a powerful signal.

    Rabbits produce multiple babies

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 02:56 PM PST

So rabbit farming isn't very profitable and the new snapshot shows that the recipe for bundles uses a lot of rabbit hide. Now, there's the saying ''breed like rabbits'', realism and the new goat multiple babies breeding so in my opinion apply that on rabbits will be great and will balance their farming.

    Improve the bundle !

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 01:12 PM PST

Please Upvote this post for the devs to see it and fix it to the next snapshot!

During the 20w45a, we saw the appearance of the bundle, it's great! well for having tested it.... it's VERY wobbly and work-in-progress.

So here are the problems I found and the potential solution:

to take all the items, you have to left-click on EACH item to put it in the bundle.

Solution: just left-click on an item and "drag" the other items to move them.

To be able to take a specific block/item, you have to right-click on the bundle, the trick is that all the items of the bundle will come out (not very handy).

Solution: make an "interface" to take specific items and/or make a wheel click on a block and, if the clicked block has its item in the bundle, it is automatically taken out.

-In the minecon, you could see directly the blocks in the bundle description, I find it more "readable" than the text of all the items in the description.

Solution : put this back or if you shift to the bundle, it displays the blocks directly.

-and finally, the stacks... The big problem with bundles right now is that you can't just store 64 items.

For me, a "Stack" corresponds to 64 items. The problem is that for items like ender pearl or potions, you can only store 16 and ... Well that makes sense, but it breaks the bundle principle a bit.

Solution, to be able to store 64 items of all kinds (except armor and weapons).

edit : and I forgot one point: the craft.....

the fact of crafting it with rabbit skin is really painful.personally, i'm not going to hunt rabbits to make a very unfinished item. i prefer shulkers even if they're endgame!
solution: simply replace the rabbit skin with leather!

Voila, if I forgot something or you want some clarification on certain points, comment! :)

In addition to ignoring people from 1.16.4, could we have the ability to tag people, then ignore chat except for when we're tagged?

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 01:32 PM PST

Sometimes I just want to tune out the rest of the server and focus on whatever project I have. However, this means that I don't get any crucial messages from admins. It would be cool to have a tag system, like "@PlayerName", "@SomeGroup", or "@All" , that could allow us to tune out the rest of the server unless an admin has one of those crucial messages.

    Nether Stalagmites and Stalagtites

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 02:53 PM PST

(I'm pretty sure how those are spelled)

btw, this kind of works with the cave update if you view the nether as a huge caver.

With the first snapshot out, I drew a connection between stalagmites and lava caudlrons in the nether! Basically, I think there should be nether stalagmites and stalagtites. Right now, the nether wastes don't have much of a challenge. All you need is an okay sword and a gold armorpiece. Unlike the forests with their hoglins or the basalt deltas with potholes, the nether wastes are pretty bland, with the exception of the occasional death pit. I think there should be pits with stalagtites and rooves (roofs?) with stalagmite for an extra challenge. Basically, the stalagmites would drip lava that can be collected with a cauldron. But, if it drips on you, you will lose a bit of health. That way, it will prove more of a challenge (making sure to look up and down while exploring) and it will give the lava cauldron an in-game natural function thing. (I think you understand what I mean.)

If you read down here, thanks. :)

Copper Door and Copper Trap Door that block light

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 12:09 PM PST

Copper Doors, Crafted like a door, with Copper ingots, but with 2 pieces of tinted glass in the second row rather than copper ingots, would act like Iron Doors, but they wouldn't let light through while it is closed, similar to how Tinted Glass works.

Copper Trap Doors are the same, except they're trap doors. Crafted with 2 copper ingots, and 2 Tinted Glass, similar to how Coarse Dirt is crafted.

These would make it easier to make dedicated dark rooms that are easy to access as the current doors let light through even while closed.

    Tropics and Beaches

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 09:08 AM PST

Ok, I was thinking of adding a new biome to the game. The Tropics will be a mini-biome in the warm ocean (kind of like the bamboo jungle in the jungle) The Tropics will be a collection of small islands on top of a large plateau in the warm ocean. The tropics will add a new tree / wood type to the game called the palm tree along with some new foliage, both of which will spawn in the tropics and warm beaches. Palm oaks will be a light brown color.

Instead of dropping apples like the rest of the trees in the game, palm tree will have a chance of dropping a coconut, which can be turned into coconut milk. Coconut milk will have the same abilities as regular milk, but it gives you 10 seconds of regeneration.

I got inspiration for the Tropics from Biomes o' plenty, and a place called Laamu Atoll.

Thanks for reading my suggestion, I hope you have a good rest of your day.

    Blacksmiths can heal Golems

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 09:14 PM PST

The poor dude needs love and care from the idiots that he's trying to protect. He dies 2-3 nights after visiting a village and left in his own devices. Although I feel no remorse from either making a iron farm out of him and turning his people into livestock, it still makes me feel bad watching him die from fighting 3 zombies and skeletons from the distance while I work turning his village into a breeding ground.

It also kinda make sense since the blacksmith is the only one dealing with iron, so he should be able to repair the golem like Java players can

And please let us bedrock players be able to repair golems too

Right clicking copper blocks using honeycomb should wax them

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 02:42 PM PST

Having to place all your copper, wait until it oxidizes, then break them all in order to wax them individually is tedious. Being able to directly apply honeycomb on the block with right click would make this a much more smooth process. Perhaps right click would have a wax particle to show it has been waxed.

Red, Blue, and Yellow dye together should make Black Dye

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 09:48 AM PST

Currently there are two ways to get black dye: Ink Sacks and Wither Roses. Squid spawning is usually uncommon and Wither Roses are harder to obtain (well harder on bedrock as wither rose farms are harder to make since Wither Mechanics are different.

In the real world if you mix the three primary pigments: Red , Blue, and Yellow, (not to be confused with primary lights, RGB) You will get a Dark Color close to black, so it makes sense that you should mix these three dyes to make black dye

    Training Dummy

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 03:21 PM PST

Training dummys would be a new way to test your strength and see exactly how much damage things do.

Obtaining:to craft a training dummy you would need a fence,a target block,a hay bail, and two sticks. First place the fence in the bottom middle, the target on top of that, and the hay bail on top of the target. Then place two stick on either side of the target and boom, you got a training dummy. You can also find them outside of pillager outposts which the pillagers will sometimes shot at.

Apperance:The dummy would be two blocks tall with a hay head with a little angry face on it. It would also have two arms on its sidea that can hold weapons like swords and sheilds you can also put a head item on the hay one for cosmetics.

Uses:By hitting the dummy with any weapon it will send out a redstone signal equivalent to the amount of damage. You can also place a a weapon in its hand for decoration or for swinging, to have it swing the weapon you can send a redstone signal once to have it swing it once or continulesy swing by having a continues signal. Also you can place a sheild in its other hand which can be raised or keep up like with the weapon.

Other:After a couple of hits the dummy will start to deteriorate after fifty hits there would be little cuts and tares on the body after one hundred the one of the arms will be broken, after one hundred and fifty there would be larger tears and both arms would be broken and after two hundred the dummy will break and leave behind the fence, one or two sticks, and some wheat. On Halloween if you look away at a dummy and look back, the dummy will be looking at you. Dummys would also be placed looking at you you can also rotate them be crouching and pressing the ise button. Dummys would be affected by gravity and can be put into minecarts.

If you have anyother questions, ideas,or balancing suggestions, please let me know in the comments.

When an Endermite spawns for the first time, you should get the Achievement “Space Time Taxi”

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 01:16 AM PST

The endermite is a relatively interesting mob, even if it's annoying to no End. (Haha do you get the pun) I remember reading in the Mobeastiary that they latch onto teleporting mobs and players, which would make sense why endermen hate them as much as I do. Since there's no real achievement for getting an endermite, I figured I might as well suggest one.

Add New "Customized Default World" World Type.

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 02:57 PM PST

Minecraft is enjoyed by MANY different types of players, and different playstyles. Customization is such an important part of the game's foundation, but I feel it drops the ball at the most important area; World Generation.

With the new updates for the Nether, and Cliffs and Caves, adding new generation specific biomes, Mojang should give players the option to customize how their world is generated.

Frankly, I am not a huge fan of the new Nether biomes, or many of the upcoming cave biomes. My idea behind this suggestion is a new menu UI very similar to the new "Game Rules" added in 1.16, specifically allowing players to determine the rarity of each biomes.

Using my own preference, as it is what I do know, it would allow me to decrease the rarity of the dark oak forest, swamp, and warped forest. Allowing the biomes that are more friendly to my playstyle and desired aesthetics. The option to determine biome size would be preferred as well, as I have experience MASSIVE GIGANTIC caves in my 'Large Biome' worlds.

There are already world types that, to me, feel very niche, whereas this allows players to modify it to a specific level that they would like.

Here is the link to my 'Minecraft Feedback' post; Minecraft Feedback

Also if anyone has any other ideas on how to better define my suggestion, and refine it to reach a large audience, please do not be shy about offering it. I highly encourage it. Thanks!
