Note Blocks placed on amethyst should make the amethyst's sound when activated

    Posted: 10 Dec 2020 11:03 PM PST

The amethyst's sounds are rly cool so being able to activate them with redstone and coordinate them to put it in things like note block songs would be awesome! It would give an actual use for the block and seems like a no brainer for me

Mobs should be attracted to an item in an item frame if they would if a player was holding one

    Posted: 11 Dec 2020 10:15 AM PST

I was thinking about designing a rabbit farm after watching one of Xisumavoid's videos, and while I was testing some designs, I noticed that rabbits always go in every direction but the one you want the to go to, and my younger sibling suggested that I put a carrot in an item frame. (she doesn't play much Minecraft) I told her that that doesn't work, but then I thought about how useful this would be. To balance it out, make it so it's less effective, such as shortening it's range, it only works from a distance, or it only works on passive mobs.

I think this would be a really simple, and slightly late-game way to give your farms just a little boost.

You should be able to riptide when in a cauldron that is filled with water

Small change, but would make it possible to riptide in the nether.

The higher you fly, the darker the sky gets

    Posted: 11 Dec 2020 09:40 AM PST

The higher you fly, the darker the sky gets. If you go really high then you start to see stars. Maybe even past this point you would start to lose oxygen and take damage.

I've just always thought it was weird how you can fly tens of thousands of blocks high and not have the sky change at all.

Place Amethyst Crystals on top of Note Blocks to extend the note

    Posted: 11 Dec 2020 09:50 AM PST

I've always wanted to use longer sounds with note blocks and I think I've thought of a fitting way to implement that.

Amethysts are far too musical to not be used with note blocks in some form, so I think that placing an amethyst crystal on top of a note block will "resonate" the note and the sound will continue playing, as long as the note block is powered.

I think that each stage of crystal should be able to continue a note for up to 15 seconds per growth stage. So, 15 seconds for the small bud, 30 for the medium bud, 45 for the large bud, and 60 for the full cluster. If you try to play a note for longer than this the crystal will resonate too hard and shatter. The reason there is a limit at all is mainly to stop infinite noise.

If this was implemented it would add another use for amethysts, and give players the choice to have long or short notes when using note blocks, with even more control if you're careful with the length of the Redstone signal.

EDIT: Here's the link to the post in the feedback site but I don't know if it's been approved yet. If it's not you can always come back tomorrow or something.

Cosmite: a new material for the end

    Posted: 11 Dec 2020 11:43 AM PST

With the inevitability of the end update, there should be a new material. Cosmite would be found somewhere hard to get, at a similar level as netherite.

The ore would be endstone with pockets of a star scape, like the portals. This effect would be consistent throughout anything it is used in. It would be smelted into a bar like iron and gold.

Like netherite, it would be an upgrade to diamond, instead of crafted from several bars. The armor and tools would be the same texture as the portal to the outer islands.

The benefit of this armor is that sometimes when an enemy hits you, there's a chance it is teleported a few blocks in any direction, except in a wall. There's also the same chance that projectiles are shot back out randomly. Enderpearls are still associated to who threw it.

The durability is between diamond and netherite, and the tools are the fastest (excluding gold).

A new type of bow, designed with long range combat in mind.

    Posted: 11 Dec 2020 10:44 AM PST

I think it should be called a "longbow" or a "war bow." The name isn't too important.

It's a bow with long range combat in mind. It launches arrows farther and faster, has a much longer draw speed than the normal bow (a little longer than an unenchanted crossbow,) and has superior accuracy. It goes without saying that a normal bow has higher DPS (damage per second.)

The longbow can take standard bow enchantments, but, it has a new one, unique only to the longbow. It's called "penetrating." This makes the longbow's arrows deal bonus damage to armored enemies (good for PvP or killing armored mobs) and, most interestingly, a penetrating arrow pierces through shields.

Remember that, unlike the crossbow, the longbow CANNOT be loaded and its shots stored for later. It takes several, long seconds to charge. Using it in close-range combat would be extremely impractical.

How should the longbow be crafted? I was thinking it could use bamboo in place of sticks, or, heavens forbid, iron instead of sticks.

After reaching a certain height, the freezing effect should be applied.

    Posted: 10 Dec 2020 11:24 PM PST

For example, a height of 350 blocks would be set (assuming that the height limit is increased). And if you rise above this height, you will start to freeze. You could also be surrounded by something like fog (your vision would be reduced to 2 chunks ). The freezing effect could be removed with leather armor and the "fog" effect with elixir or enchantment. This will create an awesome atmosphere for mountains.

    Gilded Blackstone Bricks

    Posted: 11 Dec 2020 08:33 AM PST

This would just be a nice addition that could add a lot of detail to nether-themed builds. It could spawn in bastions and be crafted by surrounding a gold nugget with blackstone bricks, and smelting it would get you one gold nugget. Piglins would guard this (naturally). What do you think?

A way to make certain mobs not spawn.

    Posted: 11 Dec 2020 09:54 AM PST

Instead of making it on Peaceful Mode. There would be a command to make it so you can make a certain mob not spawn.

You don't want pillagers to spawn? No problem!

New End Mob: The Void Feeder

    Posted: 11 Dec 2020 08:09 AM PST

This mob is a flying mob that resembles a fish of some kind. In terms of spawning, they spawn pretty close to the void, and will NEVER rise above a certain y-level on their own (they can be moved above that point through a player's means).

In terms of what they do, they would be either Hostile or Neutral, attacking in melee. Since they spawn close to the void, they could be incredibly dangerous in their natural habitat, but won't spawn in large numbers. Since they don't go above a certain y-level, you'd have to go out of your way to engage them as the End is right now.

However, their connection to the void adds a little extra effect: If a certain number of items fall into the void, a different, larger Void Feeder will spawn, which on death will drop the items that fell. This larger void feeder would have some kind of effect that can make them easier to spot, and generally serves as a method the player can retrieve items if they fell into the void in the End.

I'm not entirely too sure what the regular void feeders would drop, however, likely a food source of some kind or some kind of scale item, but I want to limit this to one idea per post.

noteblocks should let you make notes with different lengths

    Posted: 11 Dec 2020 08:53 AM PST

by shift right clicking a noteblock you should be able to change the duration that the note is played, that way you can change both the pitch and length of a note

Clay... Where is it? An Idea to make finding clay a lot easier.

    Posted: 11 Dec 2020 12:08 PM PST

Obtaining clay can be a challenge in Minecraft survival, and you need it make bricks and terracotta. The only ways of finding naturally it are in rare clusters around sand under lakes rivers. You can also find it in mason houses, desert temples or as a Mason villager throwing it to you during hero of the village (only Java, very slow method and yields very little).

    Possible fixes could be to:

    • Allow Masons to trade it.
    • Increase spawn rate, and make it more visible
    • Able to be found in caves and touching air or water (and caves ONLY, not like ores when mining, because Clay only forms where running water once used to run)
    • Manufacturable (Cauldron with campfire underneath -> Fill it with water -> right click with bone-meal -> Right click with sand, one clay ball pops out, water evaporates)
    • Found using the upcoming brush tool, using it on sand or gravel near large waterbodies, has a high chance of dropping one or two clay balls.

    Sailor's Blight Status Effect

    Posted: 11 Dec 2020 02:52 PM PST

This status effect increases the time required to replenish the players' oxygen bar. It does not affect how long a player actually holds their breath.

There's really no catchy name for struggling to catch your breath, thus the name "Sailor's Blight".

How does a player obtain this effect? I don't know. Up to the devs. Could be dealt by an existing underwater mob or a future one. Might just sit in the files for a while. If nothing else, independent creators might use it.

    A change to Mineshafts

    Posted: 11 Dec 2020 05:16 AM PST

Whenever you think of mines in real life, they have some sort of entrance, usually a man-made one. In Minecraft, it looks like the mineshafts have no way of entering or exiting when it was originally being used. And I know that there is cave generation, overlapping with the mines, but that is random. In my opinion, the center of every mine (the dirt room) should have some kind of ladder that goes all the way to the top. The hole would be 1 by 1, with a ladder in the middle. This is still hard to spot in the overworld, especially when the ladder is facing away from you. It just makes mineshafts more realistic in a way.

    Apple trees

    Posted: 11 Dec 2020 06:27 AM PST

It has been awhile since we got another overworld tree, so how about we add one, the apple tree.

This tree can be found in forest and dark oak forest, it is another type of oak tree and dark oak tree but it grows apples. You can find these trees in clusters of 4 - 5 and if chopped they drop oak or dark oak logs, some apples and drop Apple oak saplings that can be planted to turn into another Apple tree. You can harvest apple from the tree to get a easy way to get lots of apples. It also gives a use to forest and dark oak forest besides the woods.

    Thorns shouldn't reflect projectile damage.

    Posted: 11 Dec 2020 01:42 AM PST

So I was getting into dream smp (yes Im 22, and yes I do feel weird being in this fandom, thank you very much) and seeing how Technoblade after applying thorns III to every single piece of his armor is basically untouchable I'm starting to think the enchant is a bit unbalanced. And so I think that countering it with projectiles could be a very simple and elegant way to nerf it a bit. You still can counter projectiles with a shield, so there would still be ways to avoid all damage. Just one that requires you to actually do something instead of standing there.

Noteblocks would get a wider sound range

    Posted: 11 Dec 2020 03:43 AM PST

Just what the title says. Note blocks getting another octave or two, to be able to recreate more songs.

When I create songs in noteblock form, a lot of times I run out of notes and have to switch to a lower octave - granted, it doesn't sound that bad, but it would be cool if the song didn't have to jump down after a certain height threshold.

Bedrock needs item names in the kill feed

    Posted: 11 Dec 2020 10:37 AM PST

Their isn't much of a reason to names a weapon if it doesn't show up in the kill feed and Java already has this and so did Xbox and PS4 edition. Would be a nice feature in a future update.
