Big lakes instead of small ponds Posted: 25 Feb 2021 02:53 AM PST Have you ever been travelling through a plains biome and noticed the amount of small patches of water there are? In my opinion these are really ugly and I think if they want to still incorporate water into a plains biome, they should remove them and introduce larger lakes. These would a) look better and b) give players more of an incentive to build around them. Currently if I'm building in a plains biome and there is a lake I don't try to incorporate it into my build, instead I just cover it up. But if it was a big pretty lake, I'm more likely to embrace and make it part of my build. Cheers for reading. What are your thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Feb 2021 09:18 AM PST So this is an iteration of a post I made earlier one here, and something I feel like 1.16 missed: sub-biomes in the nether. So I propose the following variants of each biome: Nether wastes: - Regular nether wastes. - Modified nether wastes, the terrain is more chaotic and patches of soulsand generate more frequently. - Mushroom wastes, identical to the nether wastes but giant mushrooms generate occasionaly. Fungi forests: - Regular fungi forests. - Nylium plains: here the terrain is nearly flat, with giant fungi generating infrequently. - Tall fungi forests, In this sub-biome the giant fungi are significantly taller than their regular counterparts. Soulsand valleys: - Regular soulsand valley. - Warped soulsand valley, a rare variant in which warped roots generate, instead of crimson roots. Endermen spawn here a lot. - Pile of bones, this variant is essentialy a giant pile of bone blocks, as if it were a massgrave of the ancient creatures that once roamed the nether. Only skeletons spawn here. Basalt deltas: - Regular basalt delta. - Craters, huge plains of lava, magma blocks, blackstone and. - Ruins, a variant scattered with the ruins of a gigantic structure destroyed by the eruptions that formed the basalt deltas. The ruins are composed of netherbricks and variants. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Feb 2021 04:47 PM PST First off, Mojang has been CRUSHING it with these snapshots. I've never been more excited about Minecraft. However, I do have some constructive criticism. Surface level cave generation is getting out of hand; less is more Almost all surface level cave openings are too common IMO. The surface looks like a battered minefield with the excessive quantity of cracks, ravines, and cave openings. This I feel takes away from not only the beauty of Minecraft but some of the caving experience as well; when there are less cave openings, you are encouraged to explore around and find one, instead of having one no more than 30 blocks away from you at all times. Also, caves can become tedious and annoying when you run into them so often, especially if you are building across a lot of land. I would like to see an overall reduction in surface level cave openings to improve the beauty of Minecraft's surface and to incentivize players to explore for cave openings Also, I would like to see a reduction in the amount of small water pools, or add vegetation/small waterfalls to spruce them up a bit [link] [comments] |
Light level detector using amethyst! Posted: 25 Feb 2021 02:33 AM PST Simply as that - a block that outputs redstone signal based on the block light level! Unlike daylight detector which senses skylight, it detects block light only (without a light source the output will be 0, even in broad daylight) It can be used as wireless redstone, though unlike sculk sensors, you must have an open space clear of blocks so the light can pass through. Minecraft should have some more collectable items. Posted: 25 Feb 2021 03:52 AM PST I like the idea of having collectables to the game. For example, music disks are kinda hard to obtain and they give players a motivation of explore, similarly there should be more collectables. A great type of collectable would be Ancient Statues, a statue that represents every Minecraft mob in form of a ancient statue and also with some mobs that are not in the game. Some enchanted books that cannot be created normally and can only be found as loot. [link] [comments] |
The 1.17 is the perfect update to add more variants for diorite, granite and andesite Posted: 25 Feb 2021 07:38 AM PST They added the deepslate, a new block with a lot of variants like the bricks, chiseled, etc. The diorite, andesite and granite only have one variant, the polished one. I think adding the bricks and chiseled versions of this blocks (maybe more variants) will be a great addition to the game for constructions. Just imagine the posibilities [link] [comments] |
Add “Giving the warden loot” to the rejected ideas list. Posted: 25 Feb 2021 11:02 AM PST Although Mojang has stated that they have no intent of giving the warden drops since the warden isn't meant to be killed, people have made suggestions time and time again that the warden should have loot, especially valuable loot like diamonds and enchanted golden apples. Minecraft 1.18 - The Nature Update Posted: 25 Feb 2021 01:38 PM PST As much as I want the End Update for the next update, kingbdogz confirmed that they are focused on updating early game features first, making an End Update possibly unlikely for the next update. So what should be in 1.18 if it isn't the End Update? The Nature Update. It would make sense, since the whole underground is getting revamped and updated, it would make sense to revamp and update the overworld as well. With better land generation, beautiful waterfalls, bigger forests, more vegetation, more animals, seasons, better tree generation, bigger beaches, better skies, more atmosphere and ambience, biome music, and a much more beautiful overworld all around. They brought underground marvel to the caves, now why not bring marvel to the overworld? This would encourage exploration more in the overworld, as well as making a beautiful scenery of nature for the players to love. This update would also add the losing biome features in the biome votes. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Feb 2021 08:31 AM PST Also, maybe add a source of mushroom in caves, so we could craft them on-the-go. That would solve the requests I've seen from multiple peoples as well as not being too OP. [link] [comments] |
No more villages full of fishermen Posted: 25 Feb 2021 12:07 AM PST Villagers can't connect to Barrels as workstations if there is something in it. Everytime I use barrels for decorations or storage in a village I end up having a bunch of unemployed villagers turn into fishermen. I just think it'll be easier to work with villagers if we had some control over the professions they decide to pick up. This could even apply to other job blocks like smoker, brewing stand ect. However if they have already connected to the workstation before we put something in it, they could keep the professions that they have. Meaning this would only apply to unemployed villagers. I just thought of this as a solution to the gazillion fishermen roaming in my village that I can't employ unless I find and break the barrel they have connected to. Let me know what you think. Add an inventory texture to Spore Blossom Posted: 25 Feb 2021 06:29 AM PST There should be a texture in the inventory for Spore Blossom, it looks really weird with the block render. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Feb 2021 09:01 AM PST With the Deep Dark cave on Minecrafts horizon I think that there should be something else added to pitch black cave of mystery. Bats being one of the first cave mobs deserves an addition that will make it more than the pesky little flying creature it is today. In the lore of Minecraft the bat eventually would have gone down into the depths of the cave where the stone is as dark as the midnight sky. The bat would hardly be affected because of it already being blind, however the skulk creatures that live down there would have affected the bat. Skulk bats would be the variant of bats that would spawn under y = -10, they would have a similar texture to most skulk items but still retain the bat shape we know and love today. The skulk bat would act the same way as a normal bat would, but when killed it has a chance to drop its eye, or ear, or something. This would be used to tip arrows and make a "vibrational arrow"(Either that or when a skulk bat is killed with an arrow it will drop a "vibrational arrow"). Vibrational arrows would be similar to the "Spectral arrow" but here when hit you are given an effect that makes you vibrate, similar to nausea but not as intense and more of a shake. This would also have the player emit similar vibration particles to the skulk sensor that attract mobs that can sense the vibrations(Warden, skulk sensors, probably skulk bats, piglins because they have long ears but not likely, and any mobs being added that can detect vibrations). I also think that more mobs should be added that can sense vibrations so the caves down below will be more of a stealth mission more than just mining. [link] [comments] |
Add the Bedrock water textures to Java Edition Posted: 25 Feb 2021 10:27 AM PST Java Edition currently only has 7 (6 variations plus the standard) colour variations for water. One for swamps and the rest for different ocean biomes. Bedrock has 51 (50 variations plus the standard) colour variations for different biomes and biome types. I think this will add much more colour and variation to the different biomes instead of having the same shade of blue water in nearly every biome. Obviously, if you disagree, I'd love to know your thoughts on why. [link] [comments] |
Splash bottles of water should extinguish entities and players that are on fire. Posted: 25 Feb 2021 06:34 AM PST This would make a lot of sense as they can already be used to extinguish campfires. If this were OP in the nether, they could just make it not work in the nether. But I don't think it is because it's a one-time use unlike the water bucket in the overworld. This could also replace some of the fire resistance potions you get from Piglings, as that way brewing fire resistance would be more incentivised, and thus magma cream would become more valued again. Posted: 25 Feb 2021 10:17 AM PST We have dyed beds, we have dyed shulker boxes... why not slime blocks? It would be cool. [link] [comments] |
Make Cave Water Darker Than Surface Water Posted: 25 Feb 2021 02:47 PM PST I've really enjoyed the most recent 1.17 snapshot, but I feel like the water in the caves should be darker, especially in deepslate. Maybe water can be more purple-ish, like end water? Who knows, maybe this will be implemented once they add cave biomes. Just a thought. [link] [comments] |
Ores should spawn with more air exposure rather than less. Posted: 25 Feb 2021 08:55 AM PST So with the current 1.17 snapshot, some ores spawn less often or not at all when exposed to air. This sounds fine on the surface, making people need to mine rather than just walking around in caves. But it has one big problem: It encourage strip mining, and discourages cave exploration. If you want to get a lot of ores, you're not gonna search through a cave for a handful of ores when most of them spawn hidden. So I feel like if anything they should be more common when exposed to air. Edit: I am aware that it is to encourage exploration of flooded caves. However, I doubt many people would do that when strip mining is faster. If they really want to encourage exploration of flooded caves, they should make ores more common exposed to water. Posted: 24 Feb 2021 03:39 PM PST This is just a small little generation change to make things slightly less ugly. You see these little pools of water all over the place, and I think it would be nice to have them look slightly better. Here's what my proposed change would look like. Maybe we could also get them at the entrance of caves that have a lot of dirt at the opening? [link] [comments] |
Sneaking before landing should reduce fall damage slightly Posted: 25 Feb 2021 02:07 PM PST Similarly to how bending your legs reduces the impact of a fall, sneaking should reduce fall damage a bit if you do it before landing. I don't think this would be too overpowered since things like water buckets can completely negate fall damage, especially if the reduction is only something like 20%. Maybe if you started sneaking just a few ticks before hitting the ground it would reduce fall damage even more, kind of like a perfect block in certain video games. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Feb 2021 12:12 AM PST Requirements: Put at least one of every flower in a bundle. The developers repeatedly talked about using bundles for the various flowers in Minecraft, so I think an achievement like this would be very fun indeed! [link] [comments] |
Add folders in the world selector Posted: 24 Feb 2021 10:38 PM PST Basically it would be super useful to group worlds. [link] [comments] |
Bell/Banner to tell the wandering trader to stay in a specific area Posted: 25 Feb 2021 09:56 AM PST The issue with Wandering traders is that they're annoying, and often get in the way. A simple solution to this would be to introduce a way to say to the Trader "Hey. Stay there so you're out of my way". So, how about whenever a trader spawns, they'll find the nearest Bell or Banner (See below) and stay within a certain distance of it. For the bell, I thought it made sense for them to seek that out since that is the place all Villagers in a village gather regularly. That's where they'd be doing all their trading with the other villagers. BUT, bells are a little hard to come by, and we don't want this to be horribly expensive or nobody would bother. They can still seek out bells for logic's sake, but I thought we should have a cheaper alternative too. ----- Banners. And not just any banner, that would be a nightmare to deal with if you regularly use them. All we need to do is to introduce a new banner pattern, and they would seek out any banners with that specific pattern. I think an image of an emerald would work, you could craft the pattern similarly to the other banner patterns, but with an emerald... or maybe something cheaper. I didn't think they'd be horribly hard co come by. The rest of the banner doesn't matter, but if it has the pattern of the emerald the Trader will use that banner and stand near it so he's not in your way. [link] [comments] |
You should be able to put bowls as decorative item like flower pots Posted: 24 Feb 2021 11:11 PM PST You should be able to put stew, soup, water and stuff in bowl and use it as decorative item [link] [comments] |
The Early New Iron Ore Texture Should Swap With the New Redstone Ore Texture Posted: 25 Feb 2021 01:38 PM PST Okay, okay, this is quite a jumble of words and elaborate complications. But listen! Hear me out: I know I'm late to the scene, but I personally believe the earliest variation of new iron ore and the newly released redstone ore shapes were great, except for one thing... the actual ore itself! Thus, I propose that Mojang should revive the first of the fresh ore texture in regards to iron and simply swap the redstone and iron ore textures (making sure to keep the colors consistent with the ore itself, of course). I really enjoy this idea, because the beetroot shaped iron ore would become specks of red dust on the faces on stone when utilized as the redstone ore texture, as redstone dust is quite grainy. Furthermore, the iron will additionally appear much more similar in shape to copper, which both portray, display, and are tough materials that share similar characteristics. :) Note: Truly, I do admire the efforts of Mojang in their creative efforts to account for the textures of ores, but the recently released iron ore texture just doesn't sit right with me. Alternatively, I would be content if the iron texture itself was altered completely, but my suggestion includes a bit more totality to the ore situation as a whole. [link] [comments] |
The spyglass should have an enchantment to see invisible entities (other enchantments below) Posted: 25 Feb 2021 01:36 PM PST This enchantment would have a name somehow related to "reveal" or "visible" and it could have other uses such as to highlight name tags or see through walls (unlikely) Another enchantment would upgrade the zoom capacity of the spyglass while keeping the other level(s): for example, if the enchantment has 3 levels, let's say level one gives you 1x more zoom, level 2 gives you 2x more, level 3 3x, you would be able to change between zoom levels by scrolling with your mouse. This would definitely improve it as of now most players play with optifine and it doesn't offer any possibility to change the levels of zoom, while the spyglass would. One more would have the purpose of highlighting warm blooded mobs and players, like a thermal camera. This means that also other warm items such as everything fire/lava-related (furnaces too) would be particularly visible, by being highlighted with a warm orange / yellow or red, depending on the temperature (lava is hotter than a sheep, maybe lava and fire items could be dark red and mobs would be of a lighter yellow/orange). To give a more realistic effect to the enchantment, cold blocks and mobs (strays etc) would be highlighted in blue or "cold colors", and standard blocks at normal temperature would be just green. This enchantment wouldn't be compatible with the invisibility one and would make the spyglass not function at all in the nether, as everything is hot there. (This is very complicated, but definitely possible to add as all blocks and mobs would have a new value, temperature, which would be fixed for every block. At that point it's just a matter of changing the textures when in spyglass mode. Just to mention, mojang should really improve their temperature mechanics as of now they're pretty bad, because water evaporates in the nether but snow and ice don't even melt (???) and tenperatures should have effects on the player, not just freezing to death only when INSIDE snow blocks. A naked man on top of a mountain with snow doesn't survive that easily. [link] [comments] |
