Posted: 05 Feb 2021 03:34 AM PST 1.17 is the Caves & Cliffs update, what's a cave without echoing? It would feel a lot more atmospheric in the caves and would make it more scary as well, adding on to the thrill of exploring the underground. [link] [comments] |
End crystal count should be below the dragons health meter Posted: 05 Feb 2021 04:07 AM PST Like how in raids the amount of mobs left in the wave is displayed below the raid progress bar, the amount of End crystals should be displayed when fighting the dragon as well [link] [comments] |
The Update Minecraft is in Desperate Need Of - The General Update! Posted: 05 Feb 2021 09:46 AM PST Since 2012, with the exception of one update, 1.8, all updates have had a central theme. Whether it's scary stuff, redstone, horses, bees, the late game, colorful items, or revamping an entire dimension, all updates have had a theme. Four of the last five updates have gone for these really big and flashy epic updates that completely revolutionize areas of the game that haven't been touched for a while - oceans, villages, the Nether and the underground. While these updates have been amazing, I notice they are very tunnel vision. The Nether update added very little outside of the Nether. The Update Aquatic added little outside of the oceans. This has led to a big divide that others have pointed out, between the old and the new. Things that haven't changed in 10 years contrasting with things now. The perfect example of this is comparing the Nether Fortress to the Bastion. Therefore I propose an update that has the "theme" of generally fleshing things out and updating outdated features. Not like 1.8 where they added a load of random content for the sake of adding random content. Here is some of what I would suggest this update would have: Updating Outdated Structures Desert temples. You've seen one, you've seen them all. More variety in the traps and their layout would be really cool. Jungle temples are the same. More variety to their traps and maybe make the structure a little better at defending its traps. Even Ocean Monuments have become a little dated. The 1.13 water physics made monuments a lot harder, and the hidden gold loot has over time become a lot less valuable. What they could do is make the Ocean Monument the primary place to find the trident. Woodland Mansions were cool because of their totem of undying, but raids rendered this obsolete. Maybe finally use the Illusioner for the Woodland Mansion, and have it drop really rare enchanting books like Mending and entirely new incredible enchantments. Also, fix the totally broken Villager enchanted book exploit in 1.14. Even Nether Fortresses could do with a bit of an update. I was surprised to see they have not been TOUCHED since 2013 - not even in the nether update! Adding the Losing Votes This General Update would be the perfect chance to finally add the biome upgrades and mobs that lost the votes at the MineCon events. The Desert, Savanna, Swamp and Badlands would finally get their upgrades, as well as adding the Moobloom and Iceologer. I don't think they would add the 2017 losers as they have seemed dead set on the fact those are gone forever. The New Combat Changes Finally adding the new combat changes in the combat snapshots, but of course only if they're ready. Farming Upgrades One of the biggest, yet most overlooked aspects of Minecraft Survival is farming. Think about it, if you play survival for more than 5 minutes, you are going to want to think about making a farm of some sort. In fact, you probably wouldn't survive at ALL if you didn't build SOME sort of farm. They could add some new ways to farm crops and animals to make farming more interesting. Maybe some more crops to farm, too. They could also add features for more late-game farms too, such as a way to herd Hoglins in the Nether easier. In addition to more crops (such as tomatoes), they could add new fruit from trees too, such as oranges and bananas. Pet Upgrades They made a start with this with the cats being a separate mob from the Ocelot, but one thing is really missing. Man's Best Friend, the Dog! A pet upgrade could add some new pet-related items such as pet beds and more ways to look after your pets. Dogs of many breeds could also be found in villages, and they could act like Tamed Wolves do now. They could add special armor for Dogs, too. They could also add parrot feeders, and have parrots maybe engage to a degree in combat. They could even add a new pet such as a ferret. Adding the Missing Potions Finally add the missing potions to Minecraft! Such as the Potion of Haste, Mining Fatigue, Blindness, Resistance and even the Wither potion. The latter maybe being unbrewable only found in chests in Bastions or Fortresses. They could also finally put the potion of Luck to use - also a treasure potion - giving a 50% chance of giving Luck, and a 50% chance of giving Bad Luck. In fact, maybe ALL of these could be treasure potions. We have treasure enchantments, so why not rare treasure potions? Other Changes Fitting with the general theme of a general update, miscellaneous dated features such as clouds could get an upgrade too. More ambient mobs like birds and butterflies could be added just to make the game feel more alive. Parts of the new flashy updates have added ambient sounds, so more areas of the game could do with more ambient sounds. Just various different ideas to flesh Minecraft out and make the game feel more alive. It could also come with a few new building blocks and commands also to please the builders. Final Word In general, this update I propose wouldn't add anything major. It wouldn't be epic or flashy like some of the latest updates we've seen. But it would just be... nice. It would make the game feel richer at a fundamental level. This is a very general update that would have something for everyone. People who like building, farms, pets, exploring, adventuring... this would appeal to everyone. An update like this would give meaning to some forgotten or outdated features and just make the game in general more fun to play and feel more alive. [link] [comments] |
Spider Eyes, Sweet Berries and Glow Berries take half the time to eat than other food. Posted: 05 Feb 2021 01:09 PM PST This is because they are much smaller than other food. This would also help in sticky situations because you can just scarf them down quicker. [link] [comments] |
Bundles should be as accessible as possible. Posted: 05 Feb 2021 02:35 AM PST The fact that bundles don't improve the inventoty's capacity, but instead lets you compress different items into one stack is really interesting and would probably work quite well. But the fact that you can only choose between taking out the latest added item or dropping all items on the ground, taking it all back into your inventory and sorting it again is undoubtedly going to annoy people. When hovering over a bundle in your inventory, and then hovering over the item display, it should keep that display open and allow you to pick any item out of the bundle. Managing your inventory should be fast and Intuitive so I think this change would really be for the better. [link] [comments] |
When you are set on soul fire, the flames will be blue. Posted: 05 Feb 2021 11:53 AM PST It's a blue flame, right? Mobs on soul fire should have blue flames engulfing them, not red-orange ones. This would also be an indicator you are under the affects of soul fire, receiving double the usual fire damage. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Feb 2021 10:27 AM PST If a arrow lands on a hopper what happens? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. If a hopper is supposed to pick stuff up it doesn't matter if it's in a chest if can be an item it should pick it up. Only arrows shot by dispensers and players can be picked up by a hopper. Posted: 05 Feb 2021 03:25 PM PST The new spore blossoms are a nice block, but don't have much of a use yet. Spore cheese would be made when putting 3 milk buckets in a cauldron with a campfire under it, putting a spore blossom above, and then waiting. After a while, the cauldron will appear to have a cheese texture, with small spores in it. This can be right clicked to harvest, making a spore cheese block. The block can then be crafted into around 2 or 4 pieces of spore cheese. Perhaps it could also be fed to a hostile mob to pacify it for a short time, or to damage an undead mob. [link] [comments] |
When eaten, glow berries should give a short night vision effect. Posted: 05 Feb 2021 12:32 PM PST In the latest snapshot, lots of new lush caves content was released. One of those new additions are the glow berries, which even though they already have some function, I think would be better with a small night vision effect, which in this case would be activated when eaten and would last around 5 seconds. I think this would be an amazing addition to the game, because this would turn the berries into something else to look forward to grind, and could be also used in mini games. [link] [comments] |
Moss carpets should behave like snow layers. Posted: 05 Feb 2021 03:17 PM PST Moss block and the moss carpets are added to the game in snapshot 21w05A. We already have green carpets, so at this point moss carpets would be basically retextured green carpets. Minecraft snow layers exist cause in real life snow can form in uneven heights, so can moss! Moss carpets also generate when moss blocks are bonemealed, so its natural to thik of them as moss layers. If they are implemented like that, terraforming in any biome with grass would be revolutionised. This is in the snapshots, so there's plenty of room to change things before official release. Add Tinted glass hiding a beacon beam without disabling it to the FPS list Posted: 05 Feb 2021 03:49 PM PST It's a good idea, but I see it way too much on this subreddit. [link] [comments] |
Add Copper Ingots to Desert Pyramids and Shipwrecks Posted: 05 Feb 2021 10:07 AM PST I really think copper ingots should generate more in Minecraft, comparable to other minerals. (iron ingots, gold ingots, etc.) Currently the only ways are to mine for it or you get it a rare drop from drowned. My idea is that copper ingots should generate in desert pyramid chests in addition to shipwreck chests. Copper ingots in desert pyramid chests because probably mummies in addition to Ancient Egyptians used copper to create or bury some mummies. Furthermore, copper ingots should also be present in shipwreck treasure chests, because the original ship's treasure would include many ingot-related and treasure related items, and copper is one of them. Finally, I'm pretty sure the original shipwreck members used copper ingots to make lightning rods, and especially a spyglass. Maybe there should be a chance for a spyglass in the shipwreck map chest also. Due to all these ideas I gave above, copper ingots should be in desert pyramid and shipwreck chests. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Feb 2021 04:05 AM PST Kill:
It's crazy..... but these are the three original mobs, and you have to kill them ONLY with the specific weapon [link] [comments] |
Moss Stone, the solid variant of Mossy Cobblestone! Posted: 05 Feb 2021 01:27 PM PST This would spawn in regular Caves, as well as Dripstone Caves, both as a 5% replacement of regular stone. Mining it without Silk Touch gives Mossy Cobblestone, and smelting it burns off the moss. You can craft it, however, using 2 stone and 2 moss carpets. Tell me what you think in the comments below! [link] [comments] |
The Power and Punch Enchantment on tridents Posted: 05 Feb 2021 12:55 PM PST It makes sense, you throw the trident with more power and it deals more damage when thrown. And it gives more of a punch when thrown if you use the punch enchantment. Impaling should be incompatible with Power, just like sharpness and smite (and bane of arthropods too but nobody cares about that one) [link] [comments] |
Pandas should be able to put on leads. Posted: 05 Feb 2021 11:02 AM PST I think it is very annoying trying to enclose pandas in fences. Not only are they to thicc for the gate, they move super slow when I hold out bamboo. Therefore, I suggest they could be put on leads so you can move a little quicker. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Feb 2021 07:00 AM PST This enchantment will make it so your other enchantments such as feather falling, fire aspect to sometimes fail to work so your enemies won't get set on fire or your fall damage won't get reduced. [link] [comments] |
Lush Cave plants in Flowerpots! Posted: 05 Feb 2021 12:26 AM PST i want to put the new plants from snapshot 21w05b into flowerpots Please lok at this Post for more info! (That post isn´t from me) [link] [comments] |
Idea for a new decorative item, and Something to find with archaeology. Posted: 05 Feb 2021 10:04 AM PST Statues! Statues could range from sculptures of pigs that are life sized, to mythical beings like centaurs or unicorns that can fit on a single block. Statues could be used for enchanting as a way to get extremely good trades only seen when using statues, like a lava walker enchantment. Mostly they'd be found near things like Jungle temples and Medusa temples, and could be seen outside. They would also occasionally spawn randomly in Jungles or Deserts. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Feb 2021 02:25 PM PST If you press „f" while hovering over an item it should switch with the current item you're holding in your offhand. (If you're holding nothing in your offhand it'd obviously just go there) Instead of having to hold it and press f it'd be way nicer to be able to do it from your inventory as well. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Feb 2021 09:50 AM PST This would be desert's and badlands' version of storms. During sandstorms, you get slower, but not get slowness effect, because people will think you can drink milk and clear the effect, but when they try it, they will just get it again. You just get slow. This would also be the way to get infinite sand! You just place a cauldron in open during this, and sand fill slowly fill the cauldron. By the way, if you get inside, you get normal speed again. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Feb 2021 10:53 AM PST The game should add an ability to farm apples, by making a new type of tree that has more rate of dropping apples, or making apples appear physically in trees (like how seeds appear in soil). [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Feb 2021 11:24 AM PST You can fit two stacks of arrows in a bundle and when you shoot a bow it takes the arrow directly out of the bundle. [link] [comments] |
Deep dark should spawn below diamonds. Posted: 05 Feb 2021 04:46 PM PST Hopefully, the world height or depth is being lowered this update. I think that diamonds should not spawn at y=12 from the base depth anymore, and this is presumably near where the deep dark will spawn. If the deep dark was deeper than diamonds, then this could mean that the light be even dimmer, which would be good, and it also means you wouldn't constantly run into wardens while mining for diamonds. For early game, it would be especially annoying because the wardens will practically one shot you. [link] [comments] |
