Lush caves with water should spawn slimes.

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 04:16 AM PST

That's it, lush caves have a bunch of clay in them, so slimes wouldn't be too out of place there.

Edit: there should also be a way to prevent slimes from spawning, as they don't care about light levels.
Maybe they should simply care about light levels anyway, because all hostile cave mobs do, or there could be some other way.

I haven't seen this suggested at all really, but there should be a new mushroom cave biome, whether its poisonous mushrooms or just the current giant shrooms, it would be amazing

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 01:31 AM PST

It would be so cool to see little hanging mushrooms and giant mushrooms growing underground, almost like a mushroom forest. Of course enemies would still spawn there and there could be poisonous ones.

    + Add Lush Cave Bees

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 06:24 AM PST

Lush caves should be able to spawn rare variants of the bee, that if angered do more damage and produce a darker honey.

Large lush caves should have animals

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 04:41 AM PST

In the large lush caves, animals should spawn. I think these animals would add a lot to the caves and would make it seem like an ecosystem.

The animals would include parrots, bees, ocelots and tropical fish along with the axolotls.

Am i the only one who thinks the jungle has such wasted potential?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2021 11:58 PM PST

I mean we all know the jungle as a huge biome with a few temples, some bamboo, and some pandas. Out of the many updates to minecraft since the jungle was added in by a snapshot in 2012 there have been as far as i have seen barely any changes too it. When i was a wee lad and played minecraft on my xbox 360 i found a jungle and i thought "wow there must be so much stuff here" only to be dissapointed. If they were to mess with the jungle they could make like a village and people native to the jungle that are hostile if provoked or just hostile in general and add mobs and loot that you can only get in the jungles. or maybe a boss that is in the jungle and add more to do. thats my thought on the jungle does anyone else agree with me or am i just a teenager rambling on about a video game that i like way too much.

Edit:i didnt mean to offend anyone by saying hostile natives it was just an idea i had for the jungle and i was tired

Pig that have been fed should drop more pork.

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 03:39 AM PST

Right now, pigs don't serve much of a use. Sure they drop meat but almost every other animal does that as well as having a unique drop.

The way this would work is, with each carrot fed they'd have a small chance to drop extra pork. One they've been fed a maximum of 20 times they'd drop as much pork as you would get if you killed it with a looting 3 weapon. This would be increased even further if you actually used looting.

Once a pig has been fed with 20 carrots they lose the ability to be fed and by extension breed.

With each carrot fed the pig would slowly increase in size and by the time they've been fully fed, they'd be 1.4 times their original size.

    Coral Fan-like variant of Mushrooms

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 06:37 AM PST

    Coral Fan-like variant of Mushrooms

If you've ever been in a forested area, chances are you have seen a mushroom of some kind that looks like little disks coming out of the side of say, a log. Here's an example:

    https://preview.redd.it/npusg1yutem61.png?width=677&format=png&auto=webp&s=5bc9b26a66dc13100079f53c97d2af3d32e4f39c

I propose a variant of mushrooms like this that are able to be placed on the side of blocks. It could be a different block, or just the ability to place mushrooms on the side of blocks and have them act like sea pickles. (that'd be a cool feature to bring to all plants and mushrooms but that's another suggestion) They could also naturally generate on the side of Oak, Dark Oak, and Spruce Trees, as well as mushrooms. This could also easily work with Nether fungi as well. It would bring just a tad bit of atmosphere that forests currently lack, and wouldn't be too hard to implement.

    EDIT:

Here is an example of what they could look like! (This is just retextured dead coral)

    Flora, Fauna and Biome suggestions

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 02:23 PM PST

So, as it seems that Mojang is open to complete remastering of the terrain I'll post this list of suggestions that I think should be added in the future.

This is quite a long list, please give more suggestions on top of what I've written in the comments.

    Trees:

Fruit trees, yes, fruit trees. A new food source. This would change the way we get food and would mean we have alternatives to farming. The fruits I propose adding should also have unique cooking recipes that would be better for your hunger bar.

Then there's a few trees that I think should be added for my proposed biomes that I'll show further down.

Other trees: Palm trees, Willow trees, Baobab trees, Cypress trees and Mangrove.

Trees: Cherry trees, Orange trees, Apple trees, Lemon trees, Olive trees ,Banana trees, Lime trees, Mango trees, Almond trees, Plum trees, Pear trees and Pomegranate trees.

    Check this out: https://lotrminecraftmod.fandom.com/wiki/Fruit_Trees

    Biomes:

    Rivers:

    - Deltas

    - Unique rivers to every biome:

    - Dried up rivers in deserts and Mesas

    - Larger rivers for plains and forests

    - Waterfalls and streams in Mountains with unique fish

    - Shallow rivers with lots of vegetation in Savannas

    - Lush rivers in Jungles

    - Rivers could possibly stay the same in Taigas and Snowy Tundras (give feedback in the comments)

    Tropical Islands:

    - Small islands with sandy beaches and palm trees.

    - Fruit and palm trees fill the inner area of the island.

    Animals: Monkeys and lizards.

    Cherry Meadows:

    - Rolling hills with with lots of cherry trees as well as willows and other trees.

Animals: Bear, Rabbit, Macaque, Deer and Fox.

    Mediterranean:

    - Just like the name, a Mediterranean biome with it's real life's counterpart's terrain, flora and climate.

    - Dry biome with Lemon, Lime and Orange trees as well as pomegranates and most commonly and only found here, Olive trees.

    - Oak is rather common here too.

    - Inspiration for terrain and general look found here: https://www.planetminecraft.com/project/malta-amp-gozo---real-world-terrains-15-scale-recreation/

Animals: Bear, Lion, Macaque, Wolf, Deer and Barbary Stag.

    California:

This "biome" would feature four types of biomes, namely: Chaparral, Giant Sequoia, Dry Mountains, and Coniferous Forest.

Chaparral is basically just a shrubland with no trees

Giant Sequoia would feature giant trees, Giant Sequoia. The wood from the tree would just be a new wood variety, no different from any other tree. It's very dry and features some streams.

Dry Mountains would be tall, rocky mountains featuring grass and spectacular cliffs.

The Coniferous Forest would have a combination of Spruce and Coastal Redwood (shortened to just "Redwood") trees.

Animals: Bear, deer, cougar, rattlesnake, lizards, wolf and fox.

    Mangrove:

    - A mangrove forest, consisting of, well, mangrove trees. Hard to navigate by boat.

    - Found on coastlines bordering to warm biomes.

Animals: Crocodiles, different species of fish (feel free to suggest more)

    March:

    - Shallow body of water, alternative to swamps but instead as a lake in warmer biomes.

    - Contains quicksand, bog and tall grass that sticks out of the water

    - Similar to real life marches or flooded grasslands found in savannas.

    Animals: Hippos, Crocodiles

    Improved Biomes:

    Swamp:

    Completely changed

    - Murky water with almost no visibility

    - Hard to navigate by boat

    - Cypress trees dominate the landscape

    - Willows are also commonly found

    - Lots of seagrass

    - Grass sticking out of water

    - Plenty of lily pads

Animals: Crocodile/Alligator, bear, deer, otter/beaver, frogs and fox.

    Savanna:

New animals, trees and river changes

    - Rivers are shallow and full of vegetation, and quite dangerous

    - Addition of Baobab trees, Mango trees, Pomegranate trees and Almond trees

Animals: Lion, Elephant, Zebra, Hyena, Gazelle, Hippo, Rhino, Giraffe, Crocodile, Leopard, Cheetah and Ostrich

    Desert:

    Changed terrain and river generation

    - Terrain generates as sand dunes

    - Rivers can be dried up

    - Rivers are lined with vegetation and Ana trees

    - Oases are also found in the desert and consist of a lake surrounded by grass and Palm trees. They are also a hotspot for animals

    - Salt pans can, although they're quite rare, can also be found. They are shallow dried up lakes with a bottom of salt, a new block type

Animals: Camel, Elephant, Flamingo and Oryx

    Jungle:

New animals and more tree density

    - A constant fog/misty effect

    - Typical Jungle sounds

    - More lush and more density

    - Addition of Banana trees

Animals: Jaguar, Tiger, Okapi, Gorilla, Orangutan, Sloth, Capybara or Tapir, Rhino and Poisonous frogs (could possibly be used for arrows)

    Forest/Plains:

    New Fruit trees

    - Addition of Apple trees, Pear trees and Plum trees

Animals: Pronghorn, Deer, Bison and Moose

    Other animals:

Snowy: Woolly Mammoth, Penguin, Saiga Antelope, Bison, Muskox, Moose, and Reindeer

Taiga: Bison, Bear, Moose, Reindeer and Deer

Split mobGriefing into two game rules, friendlyMobGriefing and hostileMobGriefing

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 11:39 AM PST

A lot of people play Minecraft with mobGriefng set to false so that creepers do not destroy their stuff. However, this results in villager farms breaking, certain woop farm designs not working and so on. A solution would be to split mobGriefing into two game rules so that we can have farms work without creepers destroying our buildings.

    Mountain chains

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 03:43 AM PST

My idea is to make new tall snowy mountains from 1.17 generate in chains, just like in real life. There should also be smaller mountains (the old ones) surrounding these chains as foothills.

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 07:44 AM PST

An Achievement for creating a custom firework. I feel like this would be really helpful in teaching people you can actually make custom fireworks! Every time i go on someones world the only fireworks the have are Elytra Boosters, and the few rare default fireworks for partying. Never any custom ones! So adding an achievement for creating one would be splendid, Thanks for listening!

    Sticky rails

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 08:04 AM PST

Sticky rails would be crafted with a rail and a slimeballs. There would also be a sticky variant for the currently existing rails. These would let the cart go on walls and ceilings. This would be really fun for making coasters and give a bit more attention to a feature that isn't currently used too much.

    Abandoned Sewers

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 01:28 PM PST

    Structure

Abandoned sewers are an underground, labyrinth-like structure (like the abandoned mineshaft) made out of tunnels. These tunnels could be made of stone bricks or deepslate bricks, depending on the structure's depth. There would be iron bars in some locations and also a new glowing white seagrass in some locations, which would provide a bit of lighting in some places.

The main difference between the abandoned sewers and the mineshafts is that the sewers would be completely filled with water. So, it would be an interesting non-ocean underwater place to explore.

Sewers would also be a more "3D" structure rather than a 2D one. That means, besides having tunnels in the X and Z directions, there would be many tunnels in the Y direction (going up and down). Sometimes, a sewer could also end up being connected to the bottom of a sea or the bottom of a river.

    Dangers

Besides the dangers of water (drowning and not seeing much without adequate potions), sewers would have Drowned spawners as well. Most spawners would be near loot chests, but some would be in other places too.

    Loot

Sewers would be on of the best places to find potions (of many different types) in the game. Most loot chests would have 1-2 potions in them, and there would be a high diversity of types of potions there... both normal and splashing, with many different effects.

The chests would also have decent amounts of iron ingots, copper ingots, and slimeballs.

Finally, we all know that almost every loot chest in the game must have a few weak or useless items. Here, these items would be mostly plain water bottles and buckets.

    Open cave strongholds and dungeons.

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 07:42 AM PST

If a stronghold happens to spawn in an open cave, they generate with rooves and iron bar windows, along with supports stretching the buildings towards the bottom of the cave, like they do with village houses that spawn on cliffs. It's a bit jarring to see a floating stronghold in the middle of an open cave.

    Glow Shroom

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 12:37 PM PST

The Glow Shroom would be a new mushroom spawning in the lush caves. They would spawn in small packs of 4-7 and these packs would spawn occasionally.

The glow shroom would have a unique ability. They would emit light but would stop emitting light at certain times. They also won't emit light if there is light nearby. The way this would work is that these shrooms would attempt to emit light every 1 second starting when there is no light, there is a 1/5 chance this attempt will work and it will emit light. When it emits light, the nearby shrooms stop attempting. The shroom then emits light for about a minute when it stops and the others begin attempting to emit. A shroom will not attempt to emit light if they already did in the last two minutes.

They can be made into mushroom stew.

In addition to this, you can use these to breed the glow squid, you can also use this to make a potion of glowing in a brewing stand. I think they will be especially used for decoration however.

Another use is that the glow shroom can be pollinated and when pollinated they will glow for a bit. When a shroom is glowing, bees will attempt to pollinate it no matter what.

They can be fed to pigs to give them the glowing effect (and also breed) and can be given to mushrooms to turn into suspicious stew (which will make you glow).

A final use is that it can be used to lure some dumber mobs such as the pig, sheep, cow, rabbit and the chicken (and more). They also can be used to lure the glow squid but not because they are dumb, just because they eat the shroom. The bee is also another mob which will want to eat the shroom but will only do so since it wants to pollinate. Note that the shroom doesn't have to be in hand to lure mobs, it can also be on the floor, but it will only lure mobs when glowing.

Piglins should drink fire res potion when on fire/lava

    Posted: 10 Mar 2021 10:57 PM PST

As of right now, piglins barter fire res with you... but when they're in lava, they kind of just let themselves die.

As such, i suggest that when piglins come in contract with lava, they either drink their potion of fire res or splash one onto themselves.

This can prevent cheesing of piglins in bastions.

Please put mushroom caves on the FPS list

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 01:09 PM PST

Ok, this is getting stupid. Everyday the same idea is suggested with slight differences: mushroom caves. While, yes, the idea is actually pretty cool and has potential, it has been WAY too over-suggested, and is frankly just getting boring. I believe that mushroom caves should be put on the FPS list, to make more room for unique, original ideas.

Add a glade sub-biome to spread awareness of an endangered ecosystem.

    Posted: 10 Mar 2021 09:43 PM PST

In real life, glades are clearings in forests where trees no not grow for various reasons. This makes them a good place for small plants, such as moss. Unfortunately, they are currently an endangered ecosystem, which threatens the species native to them. In Minecraft, glades could occur where a lush caves biome intersects a forest biome. The surrounding area would be clear of trees, except for the azalea tree. The ground would be grassy, but with large and small patches of moss. There would be grass, but no 2-block tall grass or flowers. Lilly of the valley, azure bluets, and dandelions should spawn naturally in them.

Minecraft Feedback is a terrible site, and here's why

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 02:07 PM PST

Before I post suggestions, it's important for us to discuss what's meant to be the official site for it, and why it's so difficult to use. Here's my experience on the matter.

I've been trying to criticize this site on the official site, but posts kept getting deleted arbitrarily by site bots and mods. And that's the first issue. What appears to be a fight against spam posts, turned out to be harmful to constructive feedback as well. Well-thought of posts get deleted, whereas spam posts continue to rule. Even if your post gets past "pending approval" and is out there, it'll quickly get buried by all the spam posts. There's no room for constructive feedback to grow. I'm going to try to say this in the least offensive way possible, but Minecraft Feedback is ruled by very young people who could barely form sentences.

The second issue is that I can't talk about "duplicate topics" at all. If an idea is popular enough, then there will be many spam posts of that idea in the site. It's impossible to give constructive feedback of that idea because people have posted about that idea already. But often, those posts are low-quality and doesn't add any meaningful discussion. I've been trying to post on how Minecraft could add tameable dragons in a balanced way. But it's such a popular suggestion that if my post has those very words, it'll quickly get deleted. And so, those spammy "please please give us dragons!!!!" continue to rule, and any attempt to give detailed feedback is stomped on.

Lastly, the site feels more like "Minecraft Ideas" than "Minecraft Feedback". If I give feedback without giving ideas, it'll get deleted. For example, I tired to discuss that we need more variety in hostile underwater mobs, as fighting Drowned and more Drowned gets boring. But it violated the "more mobs are vague" rule, and got deleted. Thing is, even if I add my ideas for a mob, it's very unlikely that Mojang will take that exact same idea, as they're too afraid of being unoriginal. So I'd rather leave the question of "what mob" to Mojang.

It gets tiring to try to post constructive feedback if it keeps getting deleted. Sorry Mojang, but please fix the site first before asking for feedback. In the meantime, I hope that there's plenty of Minecraft devs here that will read these suggestions.

    Animal Happiness

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 06:03 AM PST

Animals (Pigs, Sheep, Cows, etc) shouldn't be able to be shoved into a hole and breeded forever to get food. Animals in these situations (in a small space) should drop 0-1 of their items to discourage this. But if you have 1 block of grass per animal and access to water they should drop with the normal drop rate.

It would be nice if there was an opaque Flowering Azalea block as well!

    Posted: 11 Mar 2021 08:09 AM PST

As the title says, it would be nice if we could create similarly opaque shrubs with Azalea flowers. Currently the fact that they are see through makes it look pretty bad next to a mossy shrub. Having the option of making it opaque (perhaps with moss in a crafting table) would alleviate this issue!
