    Ender whale

    Posted: 30 Jul 2021 08:45 PM PDT

End whales are large solid mobs that float through the end. They are grey with purple streaks. They are attracted to and bred with chorus flowers. Whales are 10 blocks long and 3 blocks wide. They can be ridden by 4 players with the person in front controlling with a chorus flower on a stick. Baby whales are the size of a bed and can be ridden by one player. Whales can be equipped with a chest giving a full 27 slots. They drop 4-7 leather

Edit:people say whales shouldn't be in the overworld, but I see that it would make sense with a twist. Whales get hurt in water and rain

    Worms in Dirt!

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 10:16 AM PDT

Worms are not a mob. Worms are in dirt, so they're a block. They spawn in birch forests and when mined without silk touch, it gives Dead wormed dirt. With silk touch it is Wormed Dirt. Dead wormed dirt makes crops grow 3x faster and wormed dirt makes crops give 3x more outcome. They can not be combined.

New use for curse of binding

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 01:39 PM PDT

So basically, after you die, any armor with the curse of binding on it will not be removed from your inventory but stay with you when you respawn, with the curse of binding removed. This is balanced, as the curse of binding is really annoying, and you have to make a decision on the armor you're going to wear until you die. Also, for late game players, they have to choose between a chest plate or elytra(if they choose to use CoB)

Edit: If you're going to downvote me, please tell me why.

    More useful sugar

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 11:10 AM PDT

For example: being able to craft a block out of it (9 sugar, transparent block, attracts bees, can be pushed, dosnt stick).

Being also able to craft watertipped arrows, 1water bucket 1(64)leather 1(64)arrow, they do less (no?) damage, but can stop fire (like water splash potion) and also when hitting the sugar block, it desolves (not from water bucket or rain though).

Eating 1 sugar block will give you 1 heart, but also reduces your hungerbar.

I think that would add new interessting mechanics to already existing materials without beeing overpowerd. What are your thoughts on something like that?

Jungle saplings droprate should be increased for the small jungle trees.

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 01:34 PM PDT

The average oak may drop between 3 to 7 saplings when the leaves decay. the Jungle drops between 0 to 2 ( 3 if you are lucky.) but this means that for technical players it may be hard to run a wood farm for the jungle wood. it runs out quite quickly, using Dusty Dudes tree farm design, half a stack of jungle spalings runs out after generating 27 stacks of logs. However oak will run indefinitly as long as you have bone meal.

Moss spreading to create Mossy Cobblestone

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 07:34 AM PDT

Due to moss not spreading over cobblestone & it creating Mossy Cobblestone in the crafting table, I thought if you bonemealed moss next to cobblestone it would turn it into Mossy Cobblestone to create parity. Aswell as this it could do the same to convert Stone Bricks into Mossy Stone Bricks

    End Hippos

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 08:05 AM PDT

"Hippopotamus" comes from the greek roots "hippo" meaning "horse" and "potamus" meaning "river". There should be a mob in The End called Hippouranos ("hippo" meaning "horse" and "ouranos" meaning "sky" if google translate is to be trusted).

Hippouranos would be big, pink and/or purple hippopotamus-shaped creatures with the anatomy of a balloon. They would fly very slowly, floating and bumbling around the outer end islands. You could tame them with chorus fruit and use a saddle to ride them. To control them, you would need a Chorus Fruit on a Stick, which is crafted in the obvious way.

Gameplay-wise, they would be an alternative method of flight to Elytra wings. Instead of being a fast method of travel with constant forward motion like Elytra, which is great for exploring and traversing long distances, Hippouranoses would be an incredibly sloooow method of travel that lets you hover in place, which is great for building. Basically creative mode flight with restrictions due to the slowness and the drawbacks that being mounted brings (you're in midair so breaking blocks takes longer, for example).

Hippouranos' balloon-like anatomy could come with other drawbacks if it's thematically desirable or if playtesting revealed it was necessary. After losing 1/4 of its health, maybe it would slowly drift to the side while making a sound like a deflating balloon. Kinda like this except, you know, less annoying. If it got down to half health, it could whizz around every-which-way like this. Healing it back up to full with chorus fruit or potions would stop these effects.

Hippourani would of course make a pop noise when they die and would drop absolutely nothing, so as to discourage popping your floating hippo friend like a balloon.

EDIT: Another possible name is "hippurpurtamos", a portmanteau of "hippopotamus" and "purpur".

When a player first logs onto a server, they should be immune to mob damage until they move

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 01:22 PM PDT

Okay, so a person with bad internet, logging onto a server can sometimes take awhile and in that time they can die due to no fault of their own. Some things, such as lava, void damage, or fall damage would not be included because it would allow the player escape otherwise peralis situations by just logging out.

Players should have a bit of grace period when logging on/spawning in (lava, void damage, & fall damage being exceptions to that grace period)

All tree types should have their "big" version

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 03:04 PM PDT

Currently in minecraft there are only three types of trees with a "big" (2*2 sapling placement = big tree) version: spruce, dark oak and jungle tree. It makes them more profitable to farm than the other types and this is not fair. I suggest to give oak, acacia, birch (and maybe nether trees as well) an option to grow big trees using 4 saplings. Oak can grow not as high as wide and having a big crown like in fantasy novels. Birch will go not very high but will have a lot of branches and vines going down. And acacia can become a thick tree with umbrella-like crown. Would also be very cool if some trees were wide enough to make a house inside them.

P.S. sorry for my bad english, im still learning it

A leech will grab onto you when you are in the same block. They will slowly bring your health down to (🖤🖤) 2 full black hearts and keep it there, so they can keep sucking your blood. they only come off if you are on fire,

    Icicles!

these would be so you can get get item and they can spawn like sea pickles in just 1 or clusters of 2 or 3 or 4. these clusters can also grow longer and do more damage, and if u walk under them they have a chance to fall on your head, because irl, that could happen. the player can collect these with silk touch and can make longer icicles, which would be like dripstone, but if a mob walked under them they would fall and kill the mob. the longer the icicle, the more damage

    icicles! :)

What if armor stands could look like actual players using commands?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 02:21 AM PDT

I recently learned that you could use commands to give yourself a customized player's head if you use commands. Like, for example, if you use Dream's username in the command, it'll give you an actual model of Dream's head, and you could put it on an armor stand (This feature is exclusive to Java Edition, btw). But what if you could do more than just the head? Well, I idea is that you could give yourself different body parts, like, for example, a left arm, and could put them on armor stands. Putting on all parts on an armor stand would create a full player model, and you could even pose it!

Now, I'm not a command block expert, so I don't know if you could ACTUALLY give yourself different body parts, but if you can't, them I'm just saying that this is a pretty good idea for future updates.

The Camobite, An enemy for the jungles (Basilisk Post V2)

    Posted: 30 Jul 2021 11:42 PM PDT

The Camobite, An enemy for the jungles (Basilisk Post V2)

Note: This is a new version of a previous post, taking into account a variety of the feedback gained from it (and also getting more pictures involved).

    Old Post

So, let us begin again! So there I was, thinking about Minecraft's Monsters, and how almost all of them struggle with the jungle biome.

The Skeletons can't get good shots with trees in the way, and the close-range attackers (zombies, creepers, spiders, etc.) have a hard time stumbling over the bush-laden terrain to reach you, or cramming through tight trees.

I decided a good solution would be to just... suggest a mob that handles this better, a sneaky ambush hunter who doesn't chase, and thus doesn't stumble when trying to hurt the player. So here it is, the Camobite!

(my names suck, so suggest your own. I tried "Basilisk" on the old post, but that has too much mythological baggage, evidently)

    Appearance:

(Look! I improved my blockbench skills by at least 7% since last time!)

As you can probably tell, the various skins are designed to look like the jungle logs and leaves, giving them some natural camouflage (hence camo in the name) a-la original creeper.

Jungle Wood (What I consider the default texture, primarily off making it first)

Jungle Leaves, a disguise people on Fancy graphics will see through easily (or.. I guess not, technically)

Cobblestone. All these textures were made by taking the actual texture off the wiki, smudging it a little, then cut-pasting the same areas repeatedly.

Mossy Cobble. Only upon posting these do the different angles and zooms in screenshotting become evident, argh!

    Side View

Dimensions: 4.5 blocks long, with a maximum height of 0.5 blocks on the head, so it can sneak under half slabs, by a maximum width of 5/8 blocks on the head as well.

An Unsuspecting Individual in poorly-photoshopped land about to be bitten, because they can hide under half slabs.

The Result? No more Unsuspecting Individual, and this top view.

    Spawning conditions:

Probably not the most common mob in the world, due to the danger they bring. I'll say... 65 out of 515, on the mob-spawn-ometer (less common than strays in snowy tundras or husks in deserts), with a spawn group of 1. They obviously don't burn in daylight, so they'll stick around longer.

Leaves-texture ones spawn either on top of jungle trees, or on jungle bushes.

Log ones spawn hanging onto jungle trees, or under cover in the jungle (Such as a cave, or.... a slab porch).

Cobble and Mossy Cobble Textured ones spawn in and around jungle temples, even within the secret room. These are, obviously, the rarest and coolest variety.

    Behavior:

The Camobites mostly enjoy sitting around and not moving much, waiting for a target to approach them. Then, they strike swiftly. They attack rabbits, chickens, bats, and parrots by default.

The Camobites like to hide under blocks or slabs if they can find them, and can curl up to hang onto blocks seemingly impossibly. They also seek out blocks that match their skin texture to hide near.

The Curling Action Done Vertically. Pretend there's a block in there.

A demo in poorly-photoshopped land. Remind me to never mess with partially transparent blocks again.

This generated Naturally, a good example of a place to curl up.

They can also climb walls, if they flatten their various segments to the wall. (Not shown because I don't want MORE photoshop at the moment)

When a player approaches, they strike as well. This is where the hostility gets called into question, as I cover my bases in case someone calls this a "real animal". They could be attacking the player because they're hostile, and want the player as a snack, or they could be neutral, and attacking the player for intruding on their personal space. They also attack if a block they're curled around gets broken, or if something directly attacks them.

Since they don't really chase their targets, and ambushes are in personal space range, either interpretation could work.

The attack will be discussed later. More behavior stuff first.

They are similar to hoglins in that, despite attacking players, can be fed, bred, and leaded. Their food of choice is raw rabbit or raw chicken. Good luck leading them, though, since when they are curled around a block, they refuse to move.

If you feed then enough raw rabbit or chicken (say.. 3), they get into a separate mode, which I call "derp mode". When they're full and content, they get sleepy. Snakes don't have eyelids, so to show this, I pulled artistic license and gave them derp eyes. When in this mode, they don't attack things, and can be uncurled by pulling on a lead. Just.. make sure you drop them off somewhere before they shake it off and remember they hate you. Since you fed them, they refuse to despawn.

Another way to put them in derp mode, but for a shorter time, is to shield their attack. Head trauma works wonders on their attitude.

    Derp.

    Derp Derp.

    Derp Derp Derp.

    Derp x4.

    Attack and Effects:

Health: I'd say 16. Pretty solid, but being smaller than regular creatures warrants a smaller health pool.

When they attack, they uncurl and make a rush at you, moving swiftly to put their tail where their neck was, and use the rest of their body for reach. Due to how flexible they are, this range can also be somewhat vertical, striking an opponent above them, or basically falling on them to get a bite.

Poorly Photoshopped land gets worse, as I attempt to hide that I captured these from the incorrect camera angles for the background I decided on. Well, it gets the idea across at least.

Their bite attack, when done on a non-player creature, inflicts a nasty dose of fatal poison and the venom effect (getting there later) for a nice long while, able to kill most of its prey nice and fast.

When it's on a player, turns out you're a little more resiliant than most, and the attack is dose-dependent, so you take a slightly less terrible fate. The main idea behind their attack is that its not going to kill you outright, but leave you feeling vulnerable and terrified for a while, unless you handle it. It is intended to build tension, and to have you actually attempt to cure an effect for once in the game, giving honey gainful employment.

Generally, once the camobite makes an attack on you, and realize it doesn't kill you easily, they aren't exactly the most eager on follow up attacks, unless you strike them in retaliation.

Easy Mode: Does 1 damage, gives the Venom I Effect for 4 minutes

Normal Mode: Does 2 damage, gives the Venom I Effect for 7 minutes, gives the Slow Acting Poison Effect for 5:00.

Hard Mode: Does 3 damage, gives the Venom II Effect for 9 minutes, gives the Slow Acting Poison Effect for 8 minutes.

    Definitions:

Slow Acting Poison - Technically just a regular poison effect, able to be cured with honey and milk, using the same effect appearance, etc, but at a much slower rate. It needs its own name, because Minecraft won't allow a Level 0.0833 Poison effect to exist (yes, that's how slow it is). That's 1 damage, every 30 seconds, for however many minutes the effect lasts for, which is generally a lot.

For the normal mode bite: You'll take 10 damage over the course of its duration. Fortunately, this damage can't kill you, because it's non-fatal poison by default.

Venom I - Venom doesn't act the same as poison, as your body can and will attempt to fight it differently, leaving it weakened and compromised. Thus, your body loses the ability to naturally regenerate, similar to /gamerule naturalRegeneration false.

This means that food doesn't become health over time.

Some might consider this nice, as it reduces the amount you have to eat, but it means that damage easily racks up against you, and you can't rely on a full belly to save you. Fortunately, unnatural methods of regeneration, such as the regeneration and instant health effects, from their various sources will still work. Also, venom works like poison, it can be cured with milk or honey. < - DO THIS. (Seriously, you can take 16 honey bottles with you in one slot instead of 1 milk bucket, that's about 16 bites you can cure on the spot, while also recovering hunger)

Venom II - See Venom I. Your systems are so compromised that you also fail to hang on against poisons, making it that you don't hold at 1 health against poison effects. In short: all poison is fatal poison.

    For the hard mode bite:

This means that the slow acting poison becomes fatal poison, and thus the bite might be able to 1-shot an unprepared player in hard mode, if 1 additional damage was taken, none of the initial hit was armored, and the player didn't cure or counter the effects over a relatively long available time.

    Drops:

0-2 Bones (more with looting) (Either from the camobite, or from its previous lunch, your pick)

Rarely: Chicken or Rabbit Drops, (definitely its previous lunch), which is more likely if he killed the creature in question recently, but not impossible otherwise. Again, can have looting and fire aspect applied.

0-1 (Chance of 2 with looting) Venomous Fangs

    Venomous Fangs:

Fun Fact: Based on Cooked Mutton, with a bunch of effects applied.

Used to Brew Venom Potions, using the venom I and venom II effects shown above, which of course have splash, lingering, and arrow varieties. Also probably the Icon for the venom effect, for obvious reasons.

Venom Potion. Hope this Shade of Green isn't in use yet.

And because I wanted to give it another use:

    Fang Dagger

Craft a Venomous Fang with a stick, and you create a Fang Dagger, a unique weapon.

Perhaps making my own, smaller hilt would have been beneficial. All well, live and learn.

The Way I designed it, this dagger is a sort of "melee arrow", it's one use (one durability), with it sticking into the enemy player model if it hits, but that use can be blocked by shields. Of course, you can one-two combo it using an axe to disable their shield.

    Damage: 5

    Attack Speed: 3.2

On Hit: 30 seconds of Venom 1, 5 seconds of Poison 1 (does 2 damage)

    Possible Enchantments:

Sharpness, Looting, Knockback and Curse of Vanishing.

Poisonous Blade - Extends the poison effect added by 5 seconds per level, naturally goes up to level 2.

So, at peak damage, after investing XP into a one-use item:

    5 * 1.5 (Crit) + 3 (Sharpness 5) = 10.5 damage that can be armored

    + 6 (15 seconds poison 1) that can't be armored

None of which can be naturally healed off for 30 seconds, on top of all other damage outputs. Not bad for an item that only costs a fang, a stick, some XP, and an inventory slot.

Obviously, the potions and arrows have better duration and can potentially stack, and swords do better melee damage and don't shatter against shields, but this is a weapon that combines a lot of things, venom, poison and melee damage, for a lot less brewing.

Can be dispensed, which makes it attack creatures within 1 block of range, like a mix between an arrow and shears.

And... uh, yeah. I think that's everything. Some new ideas, some suggestions, some poor photoshopping, and some blockbench experience.

    Biome Locator

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 08:13 AM PDT

With a large change to Minecraft's biomes coming up in the next update, I feel their should be an item that takes advantage of the way biomes spawn and makes exploring more interesting.

My solution to this is the biome Locator, a late-game item that can help locate biomes for materials in a new portal location, find places to build bases, and make exploring more purposeful

    Here is the sprite: http://imgur.com/gallery/SHIkBGj

The crafting recipe is rightfully expensive:

    N - Netherite Bar

    A - Amethyst Crystal

    C - Compass

    • A •

    A C A

    • N •

To use it, you need to hold it in your hand and right click to open its menu. You must deposited one amethyst crystal and an item of your choice. The item correlates to different biomes. Here is some of the examples I came up with.

    Item Biomes
    Oak sapling Forest, plains, swamp,
Birch sapling forest, birch forest, tall birch forest
Spruce sapling taiga, snowy taiga, giant spruce taiga, giant tree taiga, wooded mountain, mountain grove
Jungle sapling bamboo jungle, jungle edge, jungle
    Acacia sapling savanna
    Dark oak sapling dark forest
Mushrooms (any type) mushroom fields, dark forest, swamp
Flowers (all but blue orchids) plains, sunflower plains, flower forest, meadow
    Blue orchids swamp
Sand lake, river, beach, desert, warm ocean and lukewarm ocean (including deep versions)
Gravel lake river, cold oceans, frozen oceans, gravelly mountains
Clay lake, river, beach, swamp, all non deep oceans, lush caves
Dyed hardened clay (red, yellow, brown, white, orange) badlands
    Red sand badlands
    Cactus desert, badlands
Snow snowy tundra, ice spikes, frozen oceans, snowy taiga, frozen river, snowy beach, Gravelly Mountains, Mountains, Wooded Mountains, mountain groves, snowy slopes, snow capped peaks
Powdered snow mountain groves, snowy slopes
Ice snowy tundra, ice spikes, frozen oceans, snowy taiga, frozen river
Packed Ice frozen oceans, snow capped peaks, ice spikes
    Blue Ice frozen oceans
Tropical fish/pufferfish bucket warm ocean biomes
    Cod bucket river, pond
    Coral (any type) coral reefs
    Kelp any ocean biome

I would also like to hear other ideas for blocks that could work with the locator.

Once the block and amethyst have been deposited, it will point to the nearest biome based on the block. Once inside the same y value of that biome, the locater will spin, similarly to a compass in the nether (quick note, the biome locator can only be used in the overworld, so no nether biomes).

Another reason for this is to make somewhat useless features have a use. For example, with this item, amethyst now has a reason to be farmed and there would be a reason to drop 5 emerald for blue ice with a wandering trader.

    Edit: formatting

    Crevasses

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 04:27 AM PDT

We already have Ravines, but what about an Ice Crevasse? This is an Ice coated version of the Ravine that goes to bedrock level, and contains obsidian frozen over by a layer of ice blocks. All lava that attempts to generate is replaced with Obsidian, and the Crevasse usually has lots of snow layers at the bottom and powdered snow. This is a very hazardous variant of the Ravine, which can tear through a mountain, and is restricted to icy and mountainous biomes. Lots of Blue Ice blocks can also be found in the Crevasse walls as well as tons of diamonds at bedrock level! This is a somewhat rare version of the Ravine.
