Give every ore a unique texture for colourblind accessibility. [Examples inside] Posted: 15 Jan 2019 01:23 AM PST I just want to preface this that I am in no way claiming to be colourblind, I just want to suggest this because I know some people struggle identifying ores. The suggestion is fairly simple, give every ore a unique texture. A few reasons to do this: -Colourblind accessibility -Variety in underground -Removes reused textures I've prepared some potential textures myself (these have been upscaled to 512x512.) Coal ore: https://imgur.com/a/eJLGsU8 Iron ore: https://imgur.com/a/26UoUzm Gold ore: https://imgur.com/a/94v3dRL Redstone ore: https://imgur.com/a/LMTl3yI (Diamond ore would retain the old texture as it iconic. Emerald and lapis don't need to change.) While making these textures I wanted to make sure they were natural looking, however I did make redstone look a bit like wiring or electricity. When making these textures the most important thing for me was making sure the ore was within the two pixel border of stone. The reason for this, and I'm not sure if Notch did this intentionally while texturing the original ores, you can't see an ore if it is over the edge of a lava lake, so it looks like normal stone. Let me know what you think! Extra fun bonus fact: Iron ore actually has a different texture by two pixels in the bottom right, I'm fairly sure this was a mistake of Jappa's part as the old texture had no change! EDIT: Here's the link on the official feedback site: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360038921452-Give-every-ore-a-unique-texture-for-colourblind-accessibility-Examples-inside- Didn't realise that existed. Can confirm Swordfish974 is my old username. [link] [comments] |
Measuring player’s inventories Posted: 15 Jan 2019 09:52 AM PST Weighted pressure plates should output different redstone signals depending on how full the player's inventory is [link] [comments] |
Introducing the Hurler and the Boomerang Posted: 15 Jan 2019 11:33 AM PST BoomerangBasics It can attack multiple entities if you throw it right. Its path is a circular path before returning to its spot. Boomerangs can be tipped with potion effects making it more powerful. Boomerangs can be stolen by other players in mid-flight. For example, you threw a boomerang, but your friend runs toward it and catches it by right clicking. He must right click otherwise the boomerang will go through and hurt him. It will be dropped as an item if it hits blocks. Enchantments Give Up: Other players cannot steal boomerangs with the Give Up Enchantment. Bounce: The boomerang will bounce off blocks instead of being dropped. Loyalty: Returns to the player that threw it, not to the thrown spot. HurlerThe Hurler is an Illager that wields a boomerang. It will spawn in high tier raids. You can steal a Hurler's boomerang unless it is enchanted with Give Up. If you stole a Hurler's boomerang, the Hurler will "pull out" a golden sword and attack you. So stealing a Hurler's boomerang doesn't make Hurlers useless. If the Hurler gets its boomerang back, it will go back to normal. ------------ What do you think? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jan 2019 01:56 PM PST Parrot color defined by NBT Data, if its not already a thing Cartography Tables being able to store AND display one map, that map being maybe half a block big, bookshelves being able to store books the obligatory "more stairs and slabs" demand The ability to combine potions to give you multiple effects with reduced duration Directional lighting Light color being effected by stained glass The ability to give blocks whose IDs arent natively in minecraft, which are rendered with some default texture, unless the used resource pack allows for it Placeable bottles and buckets Mossy or rotten wood? Seeds placeable by dispensers A gamerule pistonPushLimit, maybe capped at 50 or so, but giving map builders more options and most importantly, biomes not only being generated according to their temperature, but also humidity. A jungle directly next to a desert is not really that realistic. Maybe even work together with the Optifine developers and make it a native part of the game, it increases performance dramatically, even today. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jan 2019 09:25 AM PST When Running, The Player's arms would swing forward farther than they do currently, and when jumping while sprinting, it would like more like the skipping animation made by the removed human mobs. I think it would make the running animation look a little more interesting and pay homage to minecraft's past [link] [comments] |
[Discussion] What should never be added to Minecraft? Posted: 15 Jan 2019 10:31 AM PST I thought it would be a good idea to create a list of things that should never be in the game, which could probably be pinned on the sub so that people can see if their idea is worth posting. This list wouldn't focus on specific or obvious suggestions, like goblins or jet-fighters, but more general concepts, like microblocks, for example. Bellow is a list of the "forbidden" stuff, based on feedback, so it will change.

Posted: 15 Jan 2019 05:23 AM PST The Ender Dragon boss fight hasn't changed majorly for years, and I think that it is time to put that fight back into consideration: New Attacks:
AI improvement The Ender Dragon will now try to block the arrows that are heading towards an end crystal (which usually fails) [link] [comments] |
Allow us use the scoreboards we make in other commands Posted: 15 Jan 2019 10:48 AM PST I know the title isn't clear. Let me explain: you write /scoreboard add "exm"... then my idea is you will spend this in commands like /give @p stone count:{score:"exm",ScoreOwnerSelector:"@e[type=sheep,limit=1,sort=nearest]"} The "grammer" of the method will probably be different, this is just an instance. However, you realized the main idea, use the score the entity got to set a number in commands, I'm not sure you can do it with commands right now, so this will make the job, upvote if you liked. But if you want this in Minecraft, press the link https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360039085352-Use-scoreboards-in-other-commands [link] [comments] |

the fire block should use the new smoke effect Posted: 14 Jan 2019 07:08 PM PST it would go up for only 5 blocks (differently from the campfire, which goes 10 blocks) [link] [comments] |
Let there be an option to enable swearing in a server/realm Posted: 14 Jan 2019 07:58 PM PST This doesn't apply to Cubecraft, The Hive, etc. I feel like we need an option weather or not we should swear. [link] [comments] |
drinking milk from bottles instead of buckets Posted: 15 Jan 2019 04:47 AM PST Ok, think about this, when you place down lava/water they take up almost a whole block, which means that a bucket contains about one-meter square of liquid, Also, when you drink milk, you drink it in 2 seconds (i think), with this information, we will find out that a player drinks 1 cubic meter of milk in 2 seconds. Which makes no sense even for a game with exploding piles of leaves and 3 headed demons. So I think that instead of milking a cow with buckets, we should milk them with bottles, it makes (slightly)more sense, and it is cheaper than a bucket made of iron. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jan 2019 03:33 AM PST I know many devs confirmed that connected textures will never come to vanilla Minecraft but if this suggestion became the most requested feature, Mojang can't refuse it if they wanted to gain the community's trust. This is what I'm talking about anyways: connected textures will not only be implemented for glass but for other blocks as well especially grass. [link] [comments] |
