A dark gray or black stone, with similar blast resistance to stone, should generate in the Nether.

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 12:15 PM PDT

This would add some variety to the blocks we can build with, because Obsidian is the only black stone that's in the game, and it takes forever to mine. Also, it would make the Nether landscape more interesting.

They could just take the Granite texture and make it dark gray or black, and call it "Dark Granite". That sounds Nether-y.

Also, there could be a Polished Dark Granite that forms the floors of Nether Fortresses, and you could craft it yourself in the same way that you craft polished Andesite, Granite, and Diorite.

    Firework minecart

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 10:53 AM PDT

OK so basically when you have a minecart and right click on it with a firework equipped, the minecart go as fast as a firework and can only be stopped by ramming into a solid block (it kill/damage every mobs, boss and players on his way) and it can be used to fly long distance BUT after a certain amount of time the firework explode and damage the cart. (after 4 fireworks exploded the minecart is dead)

    Floating islands

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 02:44 AM PDT

What if floating islands could be added with small bits of rare ore and different biomes depending on which biome the ground is. It can rarely have villages and have a floating castle which has new mobs or just illagers

make fish flee the player, as being able to kill them with swords makes fishing rods less useful

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 12:07 PM PDT

it's also a realistic thing, however, they should not be faster than the player so that catching them with a bucket (for aquariums for example) will still be possible (buckets are not a practical way to catch fish for food so they don't replace fishing rod, unlike the sword)

Villagers should be affected by Beacons

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 08:31 AM PDT

So I've been playing the last snapshots for a few weeks now, and pillagers raids can be really deadly, even more early in the game when fighting them back can be very dangerous for the player.

Later in the game, they're far more manageable, but still really deadly to a village. We did fortifications around the village, but the pillagers raids can spawn really close to the village so it happens that they can spawn IN the village, inside the defenses. We popped some extra golems to defend the place, but it doesn't change the balance.

Living next to a village, we sometimes miss passing throught pillagers, and they're killing our villagers without us noticing it.

So, in the end, I would find it legit that we can help them a bit more with a Beacon. Plus it woulnd't be too OP because well, you can do it to only 1 village.

Open to discussion, but it seems really important to me to balance the fight and allowing the player to do more for the village you want to protect.

    Thanks for your time.

(I hope I did well choosing the flair)

    More renewable resources ideas

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 02:35 PM PDT

    1) Sand is a trade for the wandering trader, add gravel as a trade, as that would make concrete kind of renewable. Would even be great if those 2 were traded by another villagers too.

    2) Block of quartz can be crafted back into nether quartz. This would also allow for more compact storage of quartz. Blocks of quartz can be bought from the stone mason in 1.14, making it renewable.

    3) Have drowned drop sponges again, although a super rare drop and only by manual kills.

    4) Have zombie pigmen drop iron like 25% of the time instead of gold. Would make the nether more usefull as everyone needs iron and it would eliminate the need of creating iron golem farms with villages, which Mojang seems to want to remove.

    5) Animal trades from the butcher. Buy living animales off the butcher (chickens, cows, pigs, sheep, rabbits) in exchange for emeralds. Buying one will spawn one next to the butcher.

    6) Shulker spawners in end cities. Very rarely spawn a shulker spawner or have them respawn. Useful for servers with a lot of players.

    7) Composters occasionally drop a piece of dirt. Crafting a dirt block + grass seeds gives a grass block. Dirt and mushrooms give a block of mycelium.

    8) Husks occasionally drop sand (rare drop)

Can we get error logs/error codes when a server fails to connect or if the game crashes?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 01:18 PM PDT

I'm mainly talking about Bedrock here, but as I understand it Java players don't get a lot of info either.

A quick example, for whatever reason I can't connect to my Bedrock realm on my laptop, I keep getting the error "Can't connect to world".

What does that mean? Is it client-side or is it a problem with the server? Is my internet connection bad, or maybe I'm not completely updated? Some details or error codes would work great here as I can ask the community specific questions instead of spending paragraphs explaining the situation just for the specifics to get lost in communication.

    Thank you! :)

Edit: Here's a link to the Minecraft.net feedback thread that I made about this topic: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360043082532-Give-error-logs-error-codes-when-the-game-crashes-can-t-connect-to-a-server

Some enchantment ideas that are probably bad

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 03:52 AM PDT

    Blank means only I

    Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel, Hoe:

Refix (I - III) Low chance to gain slight durability instead of breaking on the final use. (I=3, II=6, III=8) Could be useful if someone doesn't notice their pickaxe is gonna break

Hoe: Unbreaking is also added Harvester (I - III) if this actually existed crops wouldn't give as much normally A chance to increase overall crop drops by 1 per level

Farmers Luck (I-III) Gives a low chance for a Golden Carrot to be harvested from fully grown carrot crops, and for poisonous potatoes to be less likely to appear

Hydration (Blank) When using the hoe, as long as water is in the proper radius, will automatically hydrate. However will use 2 durability instead of 1 (only if it also applies hydration)

    Sword:

Slicer (I-III) If holding down left click (or whatever your key bind for attacking is) charge your sword. When letting go, dash forward in a circular slice damaging all mobs caught in it. (I=1h, II=1.5h, III=2.5h)

    Leggings:

Power Jump (Blank) only found in structure chests besides Blacksmiths, Fortresses, End Cities, Underwater City, Shipwrecks. Can also be obtained by fishing. If holding spaces for at least 1.5 seconds, charge a jump boost that let's you jump 2.5 blocks high (Yes, jump boost potion exists, but is it permanent?)

    Helmet:

Spelunker (I-V) Gives off a very dim light like a mining helmet. The higher the level, the higher the lighting. Can go a maximum of a bit beyond a redstone torch lighting level.

    Trident:

Ground Pound (Blank) Can only be applied to a trident with Riptide, if in the air and throwing the trident downwards slam the ground (with some fall damage, so have to be careful) and deal a shockwave of damage to nearby enemies for 2h

Weather Control (Blank) When the trident breaks, a thunderstorm will 100% start. May not be useful on a trident you keep, but maybe a drowned will have it and you can use it till it breaks.

Special dimension-exclusive flowers, for special stew effects.

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 07:51 AM PDT

I once saw an idea for using Suspicious Stew as a way to get the Levitation effect: crafting it with Chorus Flowers. But this was sadly denied. The devs had never intended the plant to be an actual flower, and using it in Suspicious Stew made no sense with that in mind. Furthermore, it had no association with Levitation itself, its only link to the effect being that it shared a dimension with the Shulkers. So I brainstormed a new End-native flower to fill its role, and along the way came up with a few more for other dimensions so the End one wouldn't feel out of place. Here they are...

    NETHER FLOWERS

Ember Bulb- Tulip-like flower with petals made of solid magma. Grows in small patches of 1-2 on Magma Blocks, and can only be planted on them. Can be used as a furnace fuel with half the effectiveness of lava buckets. Can also be used in Suspicious Stew to give a brief "Nether Skin" effect, allowing you to swim faster in lava and inflict fire damage with punches.

Wither Rose- The one we already have. Grows rarely in singular "groups" of 1 on Soul Sand. All other properties stay the same.

    END FLOWERS

Obsidithorn- Scraggly bushlike plant which grows in uncommon clumps of 2-5 on the inner End Islands. Can filter out dropped items if they are traveling along a water stream, allowing the liquid to flow through the block occupied by the Obsidithorn while the item is trapped. Can be used in Suspicious Stew to give a temporary "Bramble" effect, giving you the ability to damage enemies by running into them.

Carapetal- Mysterious purple blossom found in item form in End City chests. A rare find, but generates in stacks of 2-3. Can only be planted on obsidian, and then farmed with bone meal. While holding the flower, Shulkers have an increased detection range and a higher chance to teleport towards you (like the smell of the flower is attracting them). Can be used in Suspicious Stew to give the Levitation effect.

    Creeper interactions

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 01:36 PM PDT

Since flint and steel ignites creepers, I say we extend the list of things that ignites creepers to flame bows, fireballs, nearby TNT explosions, and walking into actual fire.

A potion that explodes on impact? Like the Minecraft equivalent of nitroglycerine?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 12:29 PM PDT

Explosive Potions could be crafted by adding blaze powder to a Thick Potion (water bottle + glowstone dust), and then adding gunpowder to make it a throwable potion.

The explosion would have to be weaker than that of TNT, so you're less likely to blow yourself up.

    Creepers that actually creep

    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 09:36 PM PDT

I'm not sure where I saw this idea (if it was here then I apologize for reposting someone's idea), but I think it was in a Youtube comment.

    1. Creepers have a better AI that sort of resembles that of a skeleton. If a player is facing a creeper, it will stay away and try to hide behind something... but if the player faces a different direction, the creeper will run up on the player at a speed similar to the skeleton's run speed. I think he also suggested increasing the creepers' player detection radius... which makes sense if we're going to have these stalker creepers.

The problem with creepers is that while they are annoying and sometimes dangerous in close quarters, they aren't actually scary. I almost always see them before they see me, and its easy to kill them even in close combat because they do nothing strategic. With this feature, I would actually think twice before going out at night/early in the morning.

    1. By the way creepers are colored, you'd think they're meant to blend in. Maybe I'm wrong, but it makes sense. Obviously, creepers are the most iconic part of Minecraft, so changing their texture is best avoided.... but if they could camouflage themselves, it'd be much more fitting. As I said though, this causes problems because it is best to not change the iconic creeper skin. My best solution would be only having new skins for natural grounds (grass, dirt, stone, gravel, sand, water, and even leaves), while on artificial blocks such as planks, the creeper reverts to its "natural" color.

These two features would bring creepers back as the most feared/dangerous common overworld mob in the game (as it should be).

    Villager gossip bubbles

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 03:56 PM PDT

When villagers meet at the village bell, they "gossip." But there's no way to tell when they actually do it. To add some flavor, I think the there should be speech bubble particles, so the villagers don't just look like they're walking around and staring at each other.

    Concept picture:

    https://imgur.com/a/VMjucPO

The "golem" gossip is, of course, a golem, the "trade" gossip is an emerald, and the "minor_negative" gossip is a sword.

    End Storm-End weather

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 03:23 AM PDT

This weather will appear sometimes, but I think to not surprise you at the middle of the dragon fight, 5 days after you killed it, refighting resets the 5 days timer. End Storm will hit a block, and this block will become an Endermite if it was Endstone, the storm will not stay forever, after one gameday or less it'll disappear until next storm, but if hits the player or another Entity it will lose one health heart and be teleported to somewhere near, like the player eats churos fruit get teleported.

    Dense Sandstone

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 08:48 AM PDT

This new type of sandstone "Dense Sandstone" will generate under desserts (regular) and mesa's (red variant)

The reason this block should be added, is because when ground down in a crafting table, it yields sand of the respective color. This makes sand an easier to get resource, without having to tear down whole landscapes for sand used for TNT and glass. Nowadays players resort to spending half a day digging out a dessert, ruining the look of the world.

This block would generate a bit like andesite, diorite and granite, except it will be exclusive to the dessert, form in larger quantities and more frequently, the idea is that there will be large patches of dense sandstone replacing a lot of the stone (because stone is still required to generate certain structures and ores, it might be useful to bump up ore spawning in dessert alongside this block, or allow ores to also spawn in the dense sandstone, as long as the textures don't clash.)

Dense sandstone should yield either 9 sand, (crafting it with 9 sand) or maybe yield 16 sand and require 4 sandstone to craft, or something along those lines.

Not a post to the FPS List, but a warning about a User to the community.

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 04:13 AM PDT

I don't know if this is the correct Flair, or if I can even make posts like this, but I feel this needs to be known.

There is a user out there named u/chobou71. I expect him to make another bad, false comment on here. I don't know if he's been banned yet, because I reported him and talked about the situation I had on the MCS Discord, but if he isn't, I advise you to ignore his comment and block him.

Why do I say this? Well, for one, his comments are mean and demoralizing, and it's just annoying. Another reason why you should ignore it is because it is based off of false facts. On my Combat Concept Post, he said that it should just be 1.8 Combat with Combos, Which is bad and is just Spam, so naturally I said that's bad. He then said "R u stupid???" and "Go on BOTW and tell me if you see an Attack Cooldown on there." That's not exact, but it's close. I can inform you that there IS an Attack Cooldown on BOTW, it's just not as obvious.

Again, I don't know whether this is allowed to be posted or if I'm using the wrong Flair, but I just want to inform you as a community to not listen to this little good-for-nothing. Thank you for your time.

Spicing Up and Balancing enchantments in a fair way, also making space for more magic related ideas in the future

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 03:14 PM PDT

Just adding a "Magical Energy Bar" would do the trick.

    Explanation:

*"Essentially if I were to use infinity i would not require to have any arrow in my inventory as long as i have "mana" (or whatever magic name you want to give it) because they are magical arrows.

But when "mana" goes to zero the bow acts like an un-enchanted bow (using arrows) until the "mana" bar fills again (It should fill on its own but like health but some items [like golden apples for health) replenis it faster]."*

Same thing should apply to Fire Aspect, Flame, Punch and Bane of Arthropods. But not for stuff like Unbreaking, Multishot (it already uses more ammo so it's balanced).

Also Thorns should use a "mana" point for every heart of damage dealt (They are magic spikes essentially, so why not).

Aside from giving obvious balances, this "Mana" sistem would also make place for stuff like magic wands, fire-ball summoming tomes and many other things the community has asked the devs for many years and only got through mods.

    Just imagine the possibilities.

    Thanks for reading.

    Tree Heartwood

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 03:08 PM PDT

Tree heartwood is pretty much just a log block with the top and bottom textures spread around the sides. This is pretty much what it'd look like.

    Crafting

    l l l = h 5 l l l l = log h = heartwood

All the logs must be the same. The output will be five Heartwood of the log type.

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 03:06 PM PDT

Have you ever made a floating island on a "cloud" (wool or snow or any white block) but it looks really ugly and there's an intense shadow underneath on ground level?

    I'm not a fan either...

I think being able to spawn a stationary or moving cloud, or even having a cloud block would be a cool and welcomed addition for builders!

Also... Cloud villages would be pretty cool too, maybe? ;)

Trees need to be a bit taller

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 11:01 AM PDT

With things like woodland mansions and just normal huts/houses, trees get completely dwarfed because they're usually 5 blocks tall. For most builds I think it ruins the perspective of how big things actually are compared to their surroundings.

Of course a major issue with this is breaking down a larger tree is going to yield far more wood, this would be an issue as you would be spending more time on a single tree rather than a few for the same amount of wood. A way to balence this may be to reduce the number of wooden planks you get from a single piece of wood from 4 to 2 - or just keep it the same and let players get used to it.

The sky changes colour as you rise higher

    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 08:07 PM PDT

As you rise higher into the sky, the sky gradually changes fron standard blue to turqoise (40 to 80 blocks high), to dark blue cobalt (140 to 190 blocks high), and finally to black (190 to 240 blocks high). Since this is already possible, it would be fairly easy to implement. The sky already does this in real life. Light levels will not be affected, and the sun gets whiter the darker the sky goes (the sun is white in space, and the stars come out at 180 to 225 blocks high). Stars should twinkle, but only when below 190 blocks high. Lava turns into obsidian at a world height of 120 blocks (due to extreme cold), and water will randomly turn to ice or steam when a water bucket is used, making water and lava useless due to the thin air. The moon is completely white at 220 to 256 blocks high.

This could also apply to the Void, where it is all black, like in Java.

This could be turned off in the Video Settings.

Buff ideas for the Totem of Undying

    Posted: 25 Mar 2019 05:07 AM PDT

—Here's some ideas on how the Totem of Undying could be improved!—

    1. More effects: By adding or improving the effects it could be made a more reliable item to have.
    2. Durability and cool-down: Since the Totem of Undying is already an unstackable item and is pretty rare, why not give it durability? Allowing it to have multiple uses but a cool down to prevent it from becoming a source of invincibility. (Would also be a kick in the but to hack clients with auto totem XD)
    3. Bindable: Allowing it to be bound to a player (or item) instead of being required to be held would free up the space for players to use the more useful items that currently take president over it while still being able to take advantage of it.
    4. Crafting recipes: No, not craftable totems, but unique recipes that use the totem. For example you could craft a totem that sends you to your spawn point upon use, or a totem that when you enter the void it teleports you up and to the nearest block you can stand on within a certain range.
    5. Enchantments: either being able to use it to make unique enchantments for your items or unique enchantments to improve your totem.

    Disclaimer

Most of these ideas are made with the intent of only one being added as the buff, so just remember that before you post feedback!
