If there is ever a cave update, why not have a cave biome with it? Introducing the Mound biome!

    Posted: 12 Mar 2019 01:21 AM PDT

The Mound is a biome that spawns in-between the rarity of ice spikes and mooshroom island.

It looks like a Mound made up of coarse dirt, grass, dirt, and mud (a new block). The biome itself goes up above the clouds and will be covered in large wide ravines, wide caves, large open areas throughout the caves, and a lot of life growing inside, including trees, vines, bushes, and bugs. The caves will not be made of stone and will instead be made up of dirt, mud, coarse dirt, and grass. Since it's made of dirt it won't have stone ores and will instead host varients of the ores imbedded into the dirt. They will need to be mined with shovels instead.

The biome will not be able to spawn as big as most biomes and at it's maximum width will be around the size of 9 woodland mansions in a square.

Now onto the new stuff in the update.

Mud: Mud is the height of a normal block, but looks like a slimier darker dirt. It slows you down when you step on it like soul sand does, unlike soul you can counter the slowing effect with leather boots.

Inside the mound there will be lots of greenery, and greenery will need water. The inside of the mound will have plenty of that!

Mangrove trees: Mangrove trees will spawn inside pools of water that are in or near the bottom of a ravines. You can also find the off to the side of ravines in pools of water that covered by land but still have a light level that won't spawn enemies.

Leafhopper: The caves of the Mound are covered in vines and sometimes grass. But if you pay attention you can see bright green vines or grass. If you hit it a leafhopper might hop out! After that if you feed it an apple, carrot, potato, vines, or leaves it will be tamed and will follow you around. It will start hopping when other bugs are nearby. Leafhoppers are about the size of a silverfish.

Obviously spiders are in the Mound but what about another arachnid?

Scorpion: the scorpion is a hostile mob that only spawns in the desert, mesa, or in the Mound above the clouds. They will hide underground until you are near and will then pop out and try to poison you with a very deadly poison. If you manage to kill the scorpion you can get a scorpions tail, which can be used to severely poison an enemy but with very limited durability, only offering a couple of hits before it's gone.

Worms: worms are passive mobs that can be found in the Mound or Swamp. They have very low health so if you hit them they will die immediatly. They wont drop anything but if you have a bucket in your inventory you can right click worms to collect up to 16 in a bucket. Worms will improve the speed of fish coming to your fishing rod as well as make it alot lesslikely for you to get anything other than a fish. This effect can stack onto fishing enchantment.

Ants and fire ants: Ants will spawn on the outside of the Mound and will be nuetral. They are about the size of a spider and if attacked they will start attacking the player, dealing two hearts of damage.Tgey will drop chiten which can be crafted into the blast resistant chiten block. The fire ant is a rarer, bigger, hostile ant that will deal four hearts of damage and a low chance of getting the player on fire. Once killed the fire ant can drop 1-3 fire chiten which can be used to make a fire chiten block, which works simalarly to the magma block, except you can't avoid the damage by crouching and it is blast resistant.

Mushrooms will spawn commonly in the Mound along with giant Mushrooms, but with this update comes a change to the giant mushrooms.

Mushroom stem: The stem of a mushroom can be mined like a log and will drop a mushroom stem, which can be used to craft fungal planks, a mushroom version of wood.

These planks could craft all the stuff wood can but in a bright white color with specks of light gray.

You can also click on the mushroom stem with an axe to make shaved mushroom stem.

What do you guys think? I know there would probably need to be a bit more features on the design of the outside of the Mound, but I'd like to leave that part to Mojang.

Edit: you could make Daub by crafting mud with wheat. Daub could be a dyable, hardened clay like block of sorts, but instead of having a brown tint to it, it could just be a desaturated, noisier version of concrete.

Credit to the daub idea: NecroseusAnastasia

Edit: I've decided to post this to the feedback website!

    Mini Mob Overhauls

    Posted: 12 Mar 2019 12:25 PM PDT

I have already made two posts about overhauling mobs (zombie pigmen and wolves), and I thought I should make a general post about mobs which I don't think need a huge overhaul, but could use some changes/improvements

    So here we go:

    Chicken:

They could use some different skins other than just the white one. For example: a brown one, a black one, and some brown and white ones with white 'highlights' in their plumage.

They should also peck the ground once in a while in the same way that sheep eat grass. This might require their body to go lower on the Y axis, but their legs stay on the ground.(obviously)

When they are bred, one of them should lay an egg instead of a baby just appearing. The egg could just work in the same way as turtle eggs, just retextured, and a chick would eventually hatch from it. The chicken that laid the egg would sit on it unless a player is nearby. While they are sitting on it, they would reduce the time until it hatches, so it would be best to leave them alone while they sit on them. This would just be a change for consistency and realism. It would also not really affect any farms, as most players just use dropped eggs and throw them to get chickens.

Speaking of chicks, they should have their own texture changed to have a more orange beak and yellow feathers. Please.

(Now I think about it, that could have been its own overhaul, but never mind)

    Pig:

Not much for this one, but they could also do with more skins. The main example would be a grey/black pig as well as pink pigs with grey/black spots and vice versa. Brown pigs would also be an option, and maybe even 'woolly pigs' (search it up, it looks like a strange breeding experiment)

    Cow:

Same deal. Multiple different skins. For example: a fully brown cow, a brownish orange cow and a fully black cow, and all of those with similar white spots to the current cow.

They could use a 'herd mechanic', where, if you hit one cow in a group, all of them will run in a similar direction.

    Sheep:

Herd mechanic, possibly more so than with cows. That's all.

    Rabbit:

Can enter love mode on its own. Maybe all mobs could do this, but definitely rabbits.

    Slime:

Either: They spawn more commonly in swamps. Right now they seem to barely ever appear.

Or: Something is done to make slime chunks more obvious. Maybe there could occasionally be 'puddles' of slime, or mobs like skeletons and zombies could have different skins showing slime on them or something.

    Magma Cube:

Just... make them more common. I barely ever see the poor things. They should maybe spawn more commonly in or around lava. If this would be unbalanced, they should drop less magma cream.

    Blaze:

Their audio range should be increased to fit their player detection range. Usually, if you can hear a mob, it can see you. However, the detection range of blazes was increased at some point and the audio range left unchanged.

    Ghast:

They should fire more frequently. At the moment, they are barely an inconvenience. I they fired more frequently at the player, they might be more likely to actually... hit you.

(Very unsure about this one) They should be immune to arrows and tridents. They were clearly designed with using the 'return to sender' strategy in mind, but I feel that most players just shoot them straight away. Maybe they wouldn't be immune, just take less damage from them. It even makes sense, because they don't feel very physical. I mean, they are literally one letter off of being ghosts.

    Silverfish:

They should just spawn occasionally on infested blocks so they can spawn naturally in strongholds and cause trouble.

    Endermite:

Ooh! This is difficult! They certainly need an overhaul, because they are such useless mobs, but I don't really know what should be done with them. Hold that thought. I'm going to make a post about these guys. Look out for it.

    Squid:

Their ink attacks can give the player blindness for a few seconds if they get a direct hit.

THeY SpAWn biGgEr aT dEepER DePThS!!! No, but seriously. They spawn bigger and more red in colour lower down on the Y axis, and if they are a certain height, they can attack the player and actually do damage to players with their tentacles. They will not attack when unprovoked, but can be mounted by drowned to attack the player. RELEASE THE KRAKEN BABY!!!

And... That's it. I can't really think of anything else, so yeah! What do you think? I doubt there is anyone who agrees with all of these ideas, so leave your thoughts in the comments!

Ropes & Chains! New multi-purpose utility blocks! (Textures, Pictures, & Mechanics Included!)

    Posted: 12 Mar 2019 03:43 PM PDT

    INTRODUCTION:

Ahhh Ropes... one of the most useful and multipurpose tools for any adventurer...
I've seen some rope suggestions once before, they mostly just say its "A ladder that doesn't need to be on the sides of blocks"....

NO! Ropes just aren't for climbing up people! As a new block, Ropes and Chains need to add MANY new mechanics and uses! I am here to show you how Minecraft should implement Ropes & Chains!

    The Mechanics:

Ropes and Chains have a lot of new and unique mechanics to them!
SO much so, that I will be showing off each mechanic though Links! So if ya wanna learn the details of Ropes & Chains, click the links below!

Intro to Chains & Ropes <(LINK)
(The basics of how placing ropes works.)

Chain & Rope Vertical Navigation <(LINK)
(Explains the mechanics of lowering rope & climbing Ropes & Chains).

Chain & Rope Horizontal Navigation <(LINK)
(Explains the mechanics of "Tight Roping" & "Hang Climbing")

    Rope Nets & Chain-Link Nets <(LINK)
(Explains the mechanics that come with building "Nets" out of Rope & Chain).

Rope & Chain Block Compatibility <(LINK)
(Showcases Rope & Chain's compatibility with other blocks like Fences & Lanterns).

Rope & Chain: Crafting & BONUS Builds <(LINK)
(Showcases some additional builds, as well as some potential crafting recipes).

    CONCLUSION:

If you read through all of the links, you will see that Ropes & Chains provide Much more than just being a new climb-able block.
This is what Ropes & Chains Should be, Multi-purpose and useful, just like real life!
I believe all of the mechanics and build potential these would introduce would be immense and deserve a spot in the game!

True: Normal Minecraft. Plants decay, leaves decay, coral dies.

False: Leaves stay when the trunk is broken, coral can live outside of water, crops don't break from stomping, etc.

    Nether Brick Flower Pot

    Posted: 11 Mar 2019 06:02 PM PDT

Maybe Mojang could add a flower pot made of nether bricks, it would be similar to the regular flower pot, but you would be able to plant nether warts in it.

    Deactivation of the profanity filter

    Posted: 12 Mar 2019 04:43 AM PDT

    Hi,

I'm actually slightly pi**ed. me and my friend try to play on a realm on bedrock edition and besides the many bugs in 1.9. ( crashs, wrong spawning, blackscreen under water,..), signs and chat are just unusable. When I write mine and his name as: Patrick and Alexas Home Alexas and Patricks Home Alexa's and Patricks Home etc it just doesnt work. the word "west" is also censored.. wth?

I'm an adult woman and there are quite a lot adults playing this game. What on earth led you to domineer all of your playerbase? why havent you a working profanity filter? (its actually the worst I have ever seen) why isnt there an option to deactivate it. this is just stupid ( also a censored word)

pls fix this as soon as posdible.

    The Kiln: For Further Consistency

    Posted: 12 Mar 2019 01:13 AM PDT

In Update 1.14, we are getting two brand new upgrades to the original Furnace block: the Blast Furnace block, and the Smoker block. Basically, the Blast Furnace can smelt ores and armor/tools in half the time a normal Furnace can, and the Smoker can cook food twice as fast as a Furnace can. There is, however, one problem: there is no upgrade for smelting a certain block into another different block. Examples include:

Smelting Sand into Glass Smelting Cobblestone into Stone Smelting Clay Blocks into Terracotta Smelting Stone into Smooth Stone Smelting Colored Terracotta into Glazed Terracotta (etc.)

This is inconsistent with what Mojang did with the other two furnace upgrades, so I propose the Kiln, a new Furnace upgrade block that smelts natural materials into more manufactured ones twice as fast as a normal Furnace. It is crafted with four Brick items and one Furnace in the same arrangement as the Smoker. They can be used as an alternate workstation for Masons, and will sometimes spawn in the place of Stonecutters.

Redstone Magnets for Pushing and Pulling Iron Blocks

    Posted: 12 Mar 2019 03:19 AM PDT

Iron is one of the few elements which is strongly attracted to magnets and can be magnetized. A piece of iron can be turned into an electromagnet by wrapping a wire around it in coils and powering it with electricity. The Minecraft counterpart is crafted with an Iron Block surrounded by redstone.

The Redstone Magnet has a north and south pole. Placing it as a block points the south face to you and the north face away. Powering with redstone makes it push from the south face and pull from the north face. This only affects iron blocks directly in line with those faces or other Redstone Magnets. Perhaps it could be used to pull Iron Golems as well. This force will be applied even through other blocks up to a range of 5.

When a block is moved by an electromagnet it becomes an entity with a collision box but is unaffected by gravity; The Redstone Magnet retains its magnetic force while this happens. This collision box should push other entities and allow entities to stay on top as it moves. When the collision box hits another block in its path, the moving entity becomes a block again. Slime blocks could be attached to these magnets or iron blocks to create elevators, floating moving bridges, item conveyers and all sorts of fun things. As is suggested in similar posts, the Redstone Magnet could be used to train a Compass to always point towards it.

The Redstone Magnet could be combined with 4 Iron Ingots and 4 Cobblestone to create Minecraft's equivalent of a Brushless Motor. Let's call it a Blower. The Blower could be powered by an alternating current of Redstone to make it spin. Each time the power switches on or off the fan will rotate 180o. Each time this happens it creates a forward force that pushes mobs and items in its path for 2 ticks. The Blower could be placed facing a Furnace, Smoker, or Blast Furnace. When powered by AC redstone, each switch will increase burn rate and processing speed by 10% for 2 ticks. These effects stack by themselves and with other Blowers.

I hope you enjoyed this oddly sciencey suggestion. If you have any further ideas for how to use the Redstone Magnet, let us know.

    After Death

    Posted: 12 Mar 2019 03:53 PM PDT

After you die you get in after death dimension where you start from 0, it has new blocks and stuff like other dimensions, you have to kill a boss to resuscitate, so you spend a bit of time there but not too much, like you have to ascend and kill the big guy. If you have more ideas to add tell me.

    MaxMobLight gamerule

    Posted: 11 Mar 2019 11:39 PM PDT

I'm not sure about the name but let's talk about the idea itself:

The OVERWORLD hostile mobs spawn only if the block below them has a light level of 6 or less.

This gamerule will get a number as input, and will change the maximum light level required for hostile mobs Special cases:

if the number is 15 (or more), hostile overworld mobs will be able to spawn at any light level.

if the number is 0 (or less) the overworld hostile mobs will never spawn naturaly.

If a mob falls on top of a mob, they'll both get damage.

    Posted: 11 Mar 2019 11:29 PM PDT

It also depends on the height of the fallen mob, higher this mob is, the stronger the hit is to the both mobs/players

    Enchanted Horse Armour

    Posted: 12 Mar 2019 12:58 AM PDT

Due to the rarity of horse armour, but it's overall lacklustre protective quality, I don't ever see horse armour used let alone people using horses. I feel as if the horse armour could be given a few specific enchantments to make it a more valuable dungeon item, as well as a more used item.

    Suggested Enchantments:

    • Protection I - III

    • Projectile Protection I - III

    • Fire Protection I - III

    • Blast Protection I - III

    • Feather Falling I - III

    • Thorns I - III

    • Frost Walker I

I think this would be a really neat little feature that would add a lot!

    Thanks for reading!

    Edit: Changed IV to III

    How to fix bats!

    Posted: 12 Mar 2019 01:35 PM PDT

As of right now, bats do absolutely NOTHING . I think they just need a cool useful feature that isn't too big, that makes "caving" more enjoyable and better.

So my suggestion is that bats can randomly bite the player, and when bitten, will give you 13 seconds of night vision (or something like that). It will deal half a heart of damage.

It is very small, but would be a cool feature.

If you like the idea, it would be amazing if you upvoted it here: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360039371671-How-to-fix-bats-

Embers and ash in the air in the Nether and while in fire/lava

    Posted: 12 Mar 2019 01:34 AM PDT

Its like the embers and ash in Zelda BotW. Aesthetics for weather. Damages every few ticks by 0.5 hearts. If the player is unlucky enough to die from it (iron/gold/diamond armour will protect against the ember and ash damage), the death message will say: "<player> died from overheating."

Adding the final polishes to the Ocean

    Posted: 11 Mar 2019 08:20 PM PDT

Don't get me wrong, the Aquatic Update was amazing and one of the best updates Minecraft has ever received. And while there were quite the handful of creatures added, we could use a few more -

Sharks - I know Mojang said that Sharks would not be added to the game but come on, this animal is a staple of the ocean - Great White Shark, Hammerhead Shark and Tiger Shark (obviously hostile) 20 hearts of health, deals 5 hearts per bite

Crabs - Spawn on beaches and can hide in the sand / small chance that a crab will pop out of sand like silverfish - (Passive) 5 hearts of health

Whales - Spawn in Deep Ocean's and vary in 3 sizes - (Passive) 25 hearts of health

Eels - Spawn in Ocean ravines and Deep Oceans (Neutral) 10 hearts of health

Sting Ray - Spawn in almost all Ocean Sub-types and will drops it's stinger upon death - (Neutral) 12 Hearts of health

Jellyfish - Spawn in Deep Oceans, will sting you when touched - (Neutral) 8 hearts of health

Seahorse - Spawn in Warms Oceans - (Passive) 10 hearts of health

Black Snow: a Nether equivalent of overworld snow

    Posted: 11 Mar 2019 06:59 PM PDT

This snow is found only in the Nether. It occurs at high altitudes. Black Snow has the texture of snow, but black and grey instead.

    How to craft:

Use either a black dye or ash and snow to create Black Snow.

You can also craft Black Snowballs, these set whatever is struck by them on fire, with the exception of some mobs, like blazes, and also the Ender Dragon.

Eight Black Snowballs will craft one Black Snow Block.

    Uses:

If you burn or use lava on this snow, it melts into lava.

Spawning Black Snow Golems, these shoot fireballs, and take damage in water and rain and also cold biomes. These golems fight for you. They are the opposite of the Snow Golem, which is white, and takes damage in warm biomes.

Can be used to make TNT, although this requires eight Black Snow Blocks.

Aesthetics (Just don't set it on fire, you've been warned!)

    Black snow igloos.

    Easier lava farming.

    Lava traps.

It will snow Black Snow from time to time in the Nether if this gets implemented, just like in the Overworld it snows the ordinary Snow. Black Snow is a hot type of snow.

    New Block: Hearth

    Posted: 11 Mar 2019 06:38 PM PDT

In medieval times, most homes had a 'hearth' at their centre. It was mostly used for heating the home and for cooking.

I think it should resemble the Furnace, Blast Furnace & Smoker blocks. That way you could easily build a custom chimney for it.

Now, we use Furnaces and Blast Furnaces to smelt ore, and we use the Smoker to cook food, so I think the Hearth should simply be used for 'heat' (light) and as a way to keep mobs away from the home.

It could work like a Beacon, with an effective 'range', where mobs wouldn't spawn, nor venture.

This way, players wouldn't have to be so careful about lighting up their base perfectly.

As long as you had a Hearth somewhere around the centre of your base (and as long as it was actively burning wood/fuel), you wouldn't have to worry so much about mobs killing you.

I don't know what the best range should be, maybe 10 or 20 blocks in every direction?
