Banners should be able to hang from the bottom of blocks Posted: 13 Jul 2019 05:41 AM PDT They can already be placed on top and on the sides, but not on the bottom. I think being able to hang banners from the bottom would open up many possibilities for building. [link] [comments] |
Tallow (Fat) from pigs (for candles, and new cauldron cooking) Posted: 13 Jul 2019 09:36 AM PDT Pigs currently only drop porkchops, making them the only farm animal without a secondary use. (Cows and chickens even have tertiary uses.) Pigs should drop tallow when killed, which could be crafted into a candle with 2 tallow and a string creating 8 candles. The candles would have to be lit individually with a flint and steel however. Candles could be like turtle eggs, where multiple candles could be placed on one block, allowing for interesting new decoration options. Candles would be a fantastic decorative block, especially as most places don't warrant electric lighting or roaring open flames of torches. The tallow could also be used to "grease" up a cauldron, allowing it to be used for cooking. A greased up cauldron could be filled with water and have several food items thrown in, yielding 3 bowls of broth that could be scooped out of the cauldron. The cauldron could then be re-greased and used again. [link] [comments] |
Ostrich, Its Feathers & A War Hammer Posted: 13 Jul 2019 02:31 PM PDT Remember last year's Minecon's Biome Chooser? They had an ostrich in their savanna section, and I want to expand upon it here, so... [link] [comments] |
Instant map discovery in creative Posted: 13 Jul 2019 08:54 AM PDT I like to create maps in Minecraft but it takes too long to fill an entire level 4, even in creative. This takes away from building time and actual fun in Minecraft so it would be really helpful if maps became instantly filled if in creative. I don't know how easy to implement this would be, but it would be very helpful [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Jul 2019 12:00 PM PDT Halfturned are villagers who have been attacked by a zombie, but haven't fully turned into a zombie Halfturned live at campsites, and can be cured like Zombie Villagers. Halfturned, unlike Zombie Villagers, are cured immediately. Halfturned aren't attacked by any mobs, including Iron Golems. Halfturned are neutral mobs, who have a 15% chance of turning into a zombie completely at Midnight on Full Moons. They then become Zombie Villagers [link] [comments] |
A new villager type and workstation: Painter and Easel. Posted: 13 Jul 2019 07:10 AM PDT Recently new blocks have been implemented to simplify the creation of items like banners, with prospects for others on the way. So, I thought I'd take this time to suggest paintings get a similar treatment. Painter villagers would spawn wearing a white apron with some paint stains. Unlike other villagers, Painters would actually move their workstation around rather than become unemployed when the easel is broken, unless the player does the breaking. Painters would go a predetermined number of blocks out from their home before placing their easel and seemingly attempting to paint the surrounding area. This could act as an interesting way to discover if a village is nearby should you find a painter. The easel itself would revolutionize paintings. It would be crafted from two planks, four sticks and three paper, and would look sort of like a white banner that doesn't wave and has two legs. (I understand that's not how easels work, but I'm not sure if an A-frame with four legs would look right if translated into Minecraft blocks.) If you interact with the easel, a new UI would pop-up. Three fuel icons similar to the brewing stand are listed along one side within a palette icon, and to the right of that is a blank white space. Below the blank space is a slot for a painting item, which with this new change does nothing yet and is renamed Canvas. By putting amounts of dye in the fuel slots, you would be given access to the different paintings, and when you find the one you like you could "apply it" to the canvas. The new painting items would all be renamed to their actual name, and this would prevent players from encountering the "Oops I accidentally broke my painting, let me replace it and break it for five minutes until it fixes itself" problem. Painter villagers themselves could be traded with to get dye, Canvses or even Paintings. This would remove the trade from Shepherds. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Jul 2019 01:54 PM PDT The Endermites of the Nether, they have a 15% chance to spawn from lighting a fire or they could just spawn in the Nether. They don't drop anything except for XP. [link] [comments] |
Make Cauldrons actually useful Posted: 13 Jul 2019 04:47 AM PDT So now I believe the cauldrons are almost useless. I have got an idea of making soups inside! The soup can have 10 ingredients inside, every ingredient turns the soup 10% to it's color (For example 1 Carrot - 10% orange, etc.) The ingredients can be meat, vegetables and mushrooms. The soup's food recovery is equal to it's ingredient, for example soup made of beef (8) and 6 carrots (6) gives you 14 hunger points. You can't add any more ingredients if food recovery will reach 20. Every bowl contains 1/3 of the whole cauldron's food recovery stat. (Fixed, thanks to the comments) Here's a simple idea on how to make a soup:
Hope you guys like it, I'll answer your questions in the comments [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Jul 2019 08:36 AM PDT Make certain places have different water types (Example: nether has special bloodwater or something) Which all have different behaviours (Example: bloodwater can exist in the nether but flows not that far & VERY slowly) and the special types of water can be used to create different sets of potions you can brew using that special water in a bottle (Bloodwater has Nausea,Glowing,Wither ECT) and they can be drinked from a bottle for special effects (Bloodwater gives you instant damage when you drink it) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Jul 2019 10:49 PM PDT The addition of raids in Minecraft is great, but I'd like to take it just one step further and add a new structure connected to them; destroyed villages. These would be like normal villages, and the biome variants would remain the same. However, the whole village would be dilapidated. Vines and various other overgrowth would be covering the partially destroyed buildings, crops would be missing and farmland turned to dirt, loot in chests would contain more in the way of bread, saplings, and apples rather than more valuable items like iron and armor, etc. There would also be Pillager banners decorating the now destroyed villages as a mark of victory, like "Yeah, we did this." I don't know about you, but I think this would be pretty intimidating to come across, especially as a new player or if it's the dead of night and there aren't any villagers, cats, or golems to be seen. Also, the banners seen around the ruins could maybe vary in a way that makes them unique and gives the player more of a reason to explore the village if they want the banners. Just a side thought, though. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 13 Jul 2019 05:48 AM PDT A while back, u/SirScutoid and I were talking about how lightning in Minecraft could be edited for the better. One thing is actually something I've seen on this sub. And that would be any player or entity taking damage when in the water, while in the proximity of a strike. This could also lead to enchantments such as lightning immunity (the name needs some work) for safe swimming. It would also add to gameplay and strategy if lightning was urged to strike higher places. This could make storms more interesting and potentially more dangerous. Finally, lightning rods. These would be crafted with three ion ingots stacked on top of each other. One might ask why you would need a lightning rod. Well, to get mob heads of course! The only way to get mob heads is to have a charged creeper kill them. Very unconventional. With a lighting rod, you could charge a creeper yourself. Maybe the lightning could even serve as power for machines? This is a fairly undeveloped idea, so I need thoughts! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Jul 2019 11:35 PM PDT "Whaaaat? I've already seen this post?!?" Let me explain why. There was a troll in the comments, so a mod told me to repost it. There are also slight changes. Onto the suggestion. Right clicking a Iron Golem with a iron ingot heals them 5 HP (2 and a half hearts) and increases your popularity in the village by 1 (Makes iron golems trust you more), if it has max HP already, it will give it 1 absorption heart each ingot, with a maximum of double HP. This would be really useful for raids and zombie sieges. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Jul 2019 02:32 PM PDT Almost every trade is bad and he spawns say too often A good trade would be maps of dungeons , enchanted books , etc Also should have like an 2-1 hour spawn time . Upvote if you agree Thanks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Jul 2019 05:08 AM PDT Maybe instead of cows running around randomly they could tilt their head down and run around randomly with their horns out ready to attack a player in the way, just to spice the animal up and give them some kind of defence. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Jul 2019 01:35 PM PDT TLDR: let me pull a bar to determine how much land/water my world has. The same for biomes. As the title says upon world creation (in the more world options tab) there would be another tab that reads: Ratios. Clicking on that tab would bring up two bars on upper bar would say Land ___________________________________ Water This ratio would be calculated be examining the overall world (as it essentially can be treated as flat), starting at level 62 (the highest sea level) and rationing out the land ratio to water ratio based on the flat surface area at level 62. So, for example lets say the MC world is 100 by 100 blocks. 100 x 100 is of course 10,000. Which would be the general surface area of the world. And let's say I want 90% water and 10% land so 90% water would be 90,000 blocks of water with 10,000 taking up the remaining area as land. Now since the world is a cube, divided into chunks (16x16x256) you could fit 62.5 whole chunks into the grid. With a little math we have 56.25 of those chunks being water (90 x 62.5/100). The biome ratio would follow the same math where you would be able to set the biome ratio and the world would distribute the chunks approximately. And the biome distribution ratio would follow the same math. You'd definitely have some funny looking biomes but as long as you stick with whole percentages things wont look too bad. This would be extremely useful for roleplaying worlds, and hard survival runs. 90% desert and 5% water and 5% woodland for the entire world? Yes please. [link] [comments] |
Slimes and Magma Cubes Merging Posted: 13 Jul 2019 05:12 AM PDT So basically when 2 (or more) Slimes or Magma Cubes collide they merge into a bigger one. If they merge into a really giant one they turn into a boss/miniboss named King Slime/Magma Cube. It's a giant Slime/Magma Cube with a crown. It's also an original way to summon a boss/miniboss. The drops of the King are just lots of Slimeballs and Magma Cream and a crown. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Jul 2019 04:20 PM PDT Small, grey, neutral mobs that look humanoid. They only spawn in the desert and badlands. If attacked, they turn into a tornado and knock you back three blocks. They will turn back to normal and run towards you. Once they are within one block of you, they'll pause for a second, before turning into a tornado and attacking you again. They have eight hearts, and drops terracotta and a 50% chance of dropping cut sandstone and a 50% chance of dropping gunpowder (one of the two is always dropped) [link] [comments] |
Fireworks should work as Flares Posted: 13 Jul 2019 03:57 PM PDT Imagine you are stranded in a multiplayer world, then you see from the distance, even farther than the render distance, a firework light, then after some seconds you hear it's burst... The campfire smoke is already rendered farther than render distance so it shouldn't be a problem [link] [comments] |
A new possible mob for the end: The Clamper! Posted: 13 Jul 2019 03:40 PM PDT Here's how I think it would look! Pardon my art skills. The Clamper would be a somewhat rare mob in the end, at a rate of about 7 endermen to 1 clamper. It would also spawn in End Cities, usually at the top of those tall tubes. Given that the end is made up of islands with just the void under them, I feel like there should be a mob that works with that. The clamper would serve a few purposes, them being:
So, how would this work? Well, whenever a clamper saw you, It would start running after you, and if it caught you it would pick you up with it's claw, and try and throw you off the edge of the island. It would be quite fast, running at you even a bit faster than an angry enderman. It's HP would be about as much as an enderman as well. Now, it's drops would be even more interesting. It would very rarely drop an item called a "Clamper Claw". The clamper claw would be a combination utility item and combat item. The utility use would be that you could right click on a player / mob and right click to set them back down. This would be useful for moving mobs such as villager without complex mine cart rails or leads. But for aggressive mobs or players, attacking would give them a chance to break out of the claw. The combat use is that after picking up anything, you can left click to throw them about 20 / 30 blocks away! A few extra details:
Suggestions would be very appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Jul 2019 05:01 AM PDT I have an idea which could bring farms to a new level. First of all, feeding trough, which not only heals your animals when it has correct food inside, but also sets their "home". You can tame animals and they will be assigned to the closest feeding trough. This means that they will not get too far away from it unless they're panicking. You can tame every farm animal (Pig, Cow, Sheep, Chicken, Mooshroom) Now some balance or something. You know Sheep eat grass to recover wool. I think Cows and Chickens should do the same with Milk and Eggs. Mooshrooms should also eat grass like cows, and after being sheared, instead of turning into normal Cows they should just lose mushrooms on their back. After eating grass, they would recover, as well as Milk and Mushroom Stew. What do you think about it? [link] [comments] |
