Minecraft Bi-Weekly Build Challenge #79: 3 Year Anniversary Posted: 01 Sep 2019 07:23 AM PDT LAST WEEK'S THEME: STRONGHOLDGoldWell this is certainly a stronghold. Size wasn't a requirement when building this challenge and for most people I would have argued it would be better that they cut down their size. Builds that are too big require a lot of attention to detail so that they still look good when viewed from a distance. However, all the extra space can be an extreme benefit if properly used, which it was here. I love all of the small details in this build like the people milling around. I did like the leaves however I fell you may have slightly overdone them a bit, since some pictures I'm focusing more on those than the build. All in all though, amazing job! SilverI got to say, those first couple shots are beautiful. I really do love prismarine as a block, especially when it's combined with stone. I personally find that it works really well when you have a stone border around walls of it since it brings out the colour so much more. Anyway, really liked this build, especially the shape of the build and how it filled the landscape so well. My only problems is some of the later shots seem a little plain (for example tunnel to underground village) but it was still looking really good! Great build! BronzeWell this goes to show that you can build something with just one colour and if you use enough blocks, it'll still look fine. That being said, I personally think maybe one or two other colours here and there as a accent would have made the build a little more pleasing. Really liked the structural design of this build and the layout. I love builds like this that make use of every space possible for more paths or small structures in their build. It's even better when other people explore it since with so much, it's so easy to miss something and find it again! Nice build! Honourable mentions IntroductionGod, it doesn't feel like 3 years but here we are! It's been a great 3 years and I've got to say that the past year has definitely been the best we've done. The explosion in entries the past couple months has been amazing to see. It may be worse for us, since it's harder to judge, but I'd much rather it like this than the other way around. Anyway, this means it's time to celebrate and what better way to celebrate than a circus or carnival coming to our worlds? Let's cheer up the people and celebrate all the wonderful builds that have been built over these 3 years (and hopefully many more years to come!) New Textures Since we have an official release of the new textures, they are now allowed (along with the old ones). However, if you use the new textures, please specify. I wouldn't want to think you're using a texture pack and disqualify you. I'm not as used to the textures, so I may not recognize them right away. Inspiration ChallengeCarnival/Fair Construct a carnival. It must have an entrance (this can be as simple as some arches), at least 2 attractions (little side shows, rides, houses, etc.) and a large tent (interior not required). Rules
