Minecraft Bi-Weekly Build Challenge #81: Nether Base Posted: 29 Sep 2019 05:25 AM PDT LAST WEEK'S THEME: SUBWAYGoldI really liked some of the odd block choices for different things in this build, especially the cauldrons and the anvils. While I doubt it's good lag-wise, they really worked for both structures you had them for and their different shapes made the build more interesting mainly because I don't think I've ever seen them used that way before and it really caught my eye. Onto the rest of the build, I liked how brightly lit it was with the different blocks you used although I think you walked a fine for your block choice there. You had many that were used and something felt slightly off (to me at least) with them but they still worked. Great build! SilverWelp... not really the build I was expecting here but still pulled off really good. I really loved how your subway was built, it looked really nice with the added blue in the walls to go against the grey. Personally the actual train tunnel I wasn't a fan of, just a little too much cobble for my taste. I feel that the cobble could have worked, but the rest of your build had so little that it seemed a bit out of place (even for a tunnel). Good job! BronzePersonally I loved this build. I thought that it was very well built and showed off enough even in a small space (since it wasn't that big). Really liked the colour palette you used, it all fit together very nicely and again, very impressed with how detailed it was in such a small space. Only complaint was the actual train looked good from the side but from the back and front I don't think the blocks you used worked as good cause it would be hard to tell it's a train from just those angles. Honourable mentions Got the mention because it actually works! While this isn't a redstone challenge, thought I'd highlight this build/contraption! IntroductionWell yesterday was a good day if you're a minecraft fan! To some people, they may like the fact that there will be new places to explore. For me, I'm happy we're getting new blocks to build with! One of the purposes of the next update is to make the nether livable so in that case, let's start right now by making some houses in the nether! Happy building! New Textures Since we have an official release of the new textures, they are now allowed (along with the old ones). However, if you use the new textures, please specify. I wouldn't want to think you're using a texture pack and disqualify you. I'm not as used to the textures, so I may not recognize them right away. Inspiration ChallengeNether base Construct a base in the nether. As of now, it doesn't need to be functional (as in has farms, etc) however it must be big enough for someone to be able to reside in it for long periods. Rules
2. Vanilla only No mods that add new blocks or items are allowed. No resource packs are allowed. Any minecraft version is allowed and you may build with custom terrain, creative mode, world edit or etc as long as it doesn't add any new blocks to the game.
