    Cow Color Variations

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 08:33 AM PDT

That simple. Just have cows in lighter and darker colors (example) to give them a little more variation. The colors could be genetic too, so if a very dark and very light cow breed, the baby would be middle - tone.

    Avalanches in the Mountain Update

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 07:33 AM PDT

With the mountain biome winning the "biome vote" contest, the addition of snow capped peaks could lead to some interesting challenge while scaling these mountains. With mountains being devoid of mobs, both hostile and friendly, avalanches can bring some much needed danger at the higher altitudes.

Avalanches would work similarly to gravel when a block gets updated, but instead of requiring a block to be updated, it should be based on player proximity. For unlucky players who are caught underneath the downpour of snowier snow, they will start taking suffocation damage. Not having a shovel could lead to a players untimely demise.

    Villager Hums

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 08:09 AM PDT

So u/cantfindnottakenname replyed to a comment thread for a post that said bee's should buzz the backround music and music disc, and I thought it be cool if Villagers (and possibly other mobs) would hum the backround music when doing common tasks, feel free to come up with other ideas.

Pillagers and Piglins should attack each other

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 02:22 PM PDT

I think it would be really interesting to see two armies/factions fighting. Obviously they wouldn't fight that much because Pillagers don't spawn in the nether and vice versa.

The piglin beast’s head should be added in the new update

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 06:46 AM PDT

According to mojang, the player will be able to barter with the piglins. You throw gold at the piglin and sometimes you get something back. One of the new items you get this way could be the head of a piglin beast. It would just be for decorational purposes, but wearing its head would look much more intimidating than wearing a zombie or creeper head.

If you fall into the void, your screen should fade to black instead of the normal death

    Posted: 29 Sep 2019 05:56 PM PDT

Pretty much, as you fall, your screen slowly darkens. When it is entirely black, the option to respawn or quit to title appears. If you tall, but shootback upwards (via elytra or enderpearl) the black would fade away.

I think it would be a nice detail that would make void deaths feel really ominous.

If we ever get another dimension, we should have to travel farther there to go the same distance in the Overworld

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 01:03 PM PDT

If we ever get a new dimension, we should have to walk farther in it to go the same distance in the Overworld, kinda like a reverse Nether; instead of being a subspace bubble, reducing the distance between places, it would be a superspace bubble.

While this sounds inconvenient at first, it would just be useful for other things, namely storage and displays: A major problem in my world is having enough space to build cool interiors and storage systems. By expanding the build into a higher dimension, it would make builds feel bigger on the inside, unlike most builds which suffer from meter-thick walls. The trade-offs would be having to go through a portal each time, and having to mob-proof the area, as well as having an uphill-both-ways kinda feel to it.

    .

While I'm here, what would you think about buildable End portals?

Bees should sometimes buzz Sweden, MInecraft, Subwoofer Lullaby, etc. Maybe they could buzz Stal or Cat or other music discs, too.

    Netherwart Forest Concept!

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 11:10 AM PDT

These are just concepts that i think would be nice and how the Netherwart Forest could work. Remember, recipes may look weird because at minecon, they said the nether will be harder.

    If they are actual wood:

    Name:

    Blue Netherwood and Dark/Red Nethwood

    Recipes:

    1 log = 2 planks

    1. You get two new wood types with all their blocks and items that come with them. Stairs, walls, slabs, fences, etc

    2. They are fire resistant because they are in the nether. Makes sense right?

    3. They are drop netherwart saplings, of both variants. I dont know what they are growing on yet, those are new blocks of sorts so cant make any ideas on that.

    4. They have recipes for items that arent in the game yet. Cant think of any concepts for this part but i would say fire resistant use.

    5. Smelting the wood will apply netherwood pulp. This pulp can be used to grow netherwart instantly on soul sand (like bonemeal on grass). The pulp can also be used to make a new type of armor boots. Cant think of an interesting name so lets just call them Pulp Boots. Pulp Boots allow you to walk on soul sand at normal speed.

    6. Netherwood Boats! What are they? They are nether boats that allow you to boat across lava. This way you can explore the nether better and freely. Best part? No lava damage! However, becareful getting out of the boat and collecting it. It will still do you damage and the boat can still burn from lava.

    7. Nether beds! Crafted from Netherwood planks and goat wool. And yes, goat wool isnt official, but lets say thats one of the things you can get from goats. Thats one use goats will have. Nether beds only work in the nether also.

    8. Piglin camps! Not like normal villages, these are scary looking villages found in red netherwart forests. In the center is a trapped piglin beast and dotted around campfires that have cooked porkchop in it.

These are the concept ideas i have for the Netherwart forest.

If you have questions, number them related to the concept number. If you multiple questions of a concept use a letter after each number. Ex: 1a, 1b, etc

    Bonus:

If there are more biomes, which unless i misheard them, they said they will show us a "few". This potentially may mean more biomes with more insane stuff. If so, that will mean more uses of this wood potentially.

Tridents or Pitchforks of the nether

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 02:05 PM PDT

In the Nether update I'd like to see a new variant of Trident come into the game, I think a red and black recolour of the trident being used by new Nether mobs would be a cool addition to the game and also bring a new way for us to get tridents. maybe fire aspect could be enchanted on the nether versions

    Make Endermen afraid of gold

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 12:01 AM PDT

With the new upcoming addition of Piglins came a new purpose for gold. Piglins hoard gold. And they won't attack you if you wear a gold armor. Why is it that? Many people were confused by that. "Wouldn't they want to steal your gold to add to their collection?" people asked. And here I suggest an answer alongside a new use for this often underpriced ore. They hoard it because they like just having it around. Because the weird and dangerous beings from another dimension fear it. The Endermen. I think about the Nether as a dead dimension after Chaos from the End overtook it. But Endermen still patrol around there. Piglins aren't a match for them in a fight so they try to protect themselves in another way. And they discovered that Endermen fear gold. Much as in our world, monsters fear silver. So it became a necessary custom to always have gold on yourself. If Piglins see another weird being from out of their dimension (player) they instinctively attack it. But, if they see that the being (player) knows their customs and is suited in gold, they know that the player is on the same side like them. Against the Endermen. And are even willing to barter with them.

This would, alongside interesting nether lore, add a new use for the gold. If you have full gold armor, Enderman won't go aggressive if you look it into its eyes. Much like with the pumpkin but instead of vision trade off it would be an armor trade off. They also try to actively teleport away. Very useful on nights when you don't really want to face the most dangerous monsters in the game and you are brave enough to go fight in not so protective, yet so shiny armor. Not even talking about the End fight where this would be a major bonus. I would also propose Endermen taking more damage from gold sword and axe but I'm not entirely sure about this one.

    Abandoned houses in forests

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 01:30 AM PDT

I thought it will be a cool idea if you were walking in a forest and find an abandoned house in the woods. The house will have a chest with 1-3 items in it (who would abandon a place while the good stuff is still inside?) mostly common items. Some of the structures also have a bed which will be helpful in case you have never found a sheep (always happens to me).

    Piglin campsites

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 01:48 PM PDT

Piglin campsites could spawn at the new Nether wart biomes and function has spawning points. Each campsite would have 5-10 piglins.

This would make farming piglin for any useful drops they may have easier and obviously give them a place to go after they hunt piglin beasts.

Flowers not touched by bees should drop nectar when harvested.

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 01:45 PM PDT

Flowers in real-life pollinated by bees produce nectar. This is the whole point of those bees going to said flower. I think that flowers not yet pollinated by bees in-game should drop nectar when harvested along with their respective flowers. This nectar can then be used to directly feed bees or their hive and boost honey production. It can also be used for honey farms, where bees won't need flowers to produce honey as long as a player is providing them with nectar.

(In real life, bees don't use pollen to make honey, so theoretically bees don't actually need flowers to make honey as long as they have some supply of nectar. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any articles about honey production without flowers, but it's scientifically accurate that the bees only utilize the nectar of flowers.)

This, of course, wouldn't apply to flowers placed by the player, since their nectar would've already been dropped. It could also be educational as to how bees actually make honey, instead of just, "They make honey from flowers!"

    New Food Item: Borscht

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 01:15 AM PDT

Beetroot is pretty worthless. So why not give it a use? My Idea: Borscht. Borscht is a food item made with this recipe

    Steak
    Carrot
    Beetroot Soup

When eaten, Borscht restores 6 hearts of health and gives Respiration I as a compensation for the expensive recipe.

Blue Fire deals more damage than normal fire

    Posted: 29 Sep 2019 08:03 PM PDT

Since real-life blue fire is hotter than a normal fire, it should be the same in Minecraft. Maybe it can do half a heart more damage. It would give make the blue fire have a purpose other than being blue.

A new mob : skunk , with a new potion and a new effect which could be used for pvp

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 03:21 PM PDT

Mob : a kind of skunk, a neutral mob, but if you attack it, it fart a gas on you which give you a nausea effect for few second and a new effect for few minutes : the stink effect. Like lamas, skeletons, ... you can dodge the attack, and if it touch an other mob, this mob will attack the skunk. We could reproduce them with sweet berries or honey. When the mob is dead, it could drop rabbit hide (but renamed to fine leather ) and stinky gland (used to prepare the new potion). We could find it in taigas or mountains ( or why not a nether skunk in the nether)

Effect : stink effect . With that effect, we smell bad and villagers don't like the smell and don't want trade with us. But pillagers don't like too and run away when you approach them. But also, i thought witches could love the smell and become friendly with us and you can trade with, it could be like a kind of alchemist villager.

Potion : a stinky potion. When we use this potion, it do the sames effects as the skunk fart. It could be prepared with the stinky glands (new item dropped by skunks).

For pvp : we can launch a stinky potion on enemies to disrupt their vision during fights with nausea effect, and if the anemy is alive, he could not trade with villagers (villagers are necessary for some pvp games) to get armors, weapons,...

    Disarmament

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 08:08 AM PDT

    Inspired by this video.

The player releases its shield right after the shield is hit with a weapon. Assuming the average game runs at 120 FPS:

    • Releasing by the next 15 frames will completely disarm the opponent. The weapon drops as an item.
    • Releasing by the next 30 frames will temporarily disable the opponent's weapon, similar to how axes can disable shields.
    • Releasing too late or early does nothing.

There's still risk to this. Releasing too late or early completely exposes the player to damage.

And if the player is just going to spam their own shield up, then the opponent could punish them with an axe blow.

The disarmament technique will also work on armed mobs.

    C=comparator.

    CS=comparator subtract mode.

C, the highest value will become the max for an output, and the minimum value become a minimum for an output.

CS, will subtract the two values from the current value.

    Boiling Water In The Nether

    Posted: 30 Sep 2019 02:27 PM PDT

Now that The Nether update is being planned to make the Nether more livable, they should allow us to place water in the Nether. There's a catch! Whenever you place water in the Nether it will become boiling water. You will take damage when in boiling water, but you'll be fine once you leave it. If you're on fire and you go into boiling water, it will put out the fire but will continue to cause you damage until you get out of it. Since boiling water is less dense, you would sink faster, not necessarily being pulled down. Boiling water will have bubbles in its textures and bubble particles in it with steam rising from it.

You should be able to cool boiling water to normal water by surrounding at least 3 sides of it with packed ice or blue ice. It would then behave as normal water. There would be limitations to the dimensions of a body of water, factoring in how many sides are covered in packed ice and/or blue ice, and how wide and deep it is. If the depth of the water is deeper than 5 blocks, it should have to be 5 blocks wide or less in order to cool the entire body of water. If it is 5 blocks deep, but wider than 5 blocks, that would be okay. So the optimal dimensions would have to have either the width or depth of the water 5 blocks or less, and 5 sides enveloped by ice. If it is bigger than that, only the water at the edges would cool, and the water at the middle may remain as boiling water.

Boiling water should be able to be used in buckets and bottles. Drinking boiling water will hurt you, but is beneficial in the brewing stand. With bottles of boiling water, you no longer have to use blaze powder to heat it up. Boiling water should only flow just a few blocks away from the source and evaporate at the edges if it is allowed more flowing room. When it reacts with lava, it should either simply fizzle or make stone, but have an EXTREMELY low chance of making obsidian, so it's not OP at all. If it is allowed to flow from a height, the flowing blocks will evaporate 5 blocks away from the source block. Boiling water will not generate in the nether, unless maybe it would generate in the nether wart forest biomes. If it won't be allowed to generate in nether wart forest biomes, you should have to bring your own water.

This is an idea to allow the placement of water in the nether without making it too OP, while fitting in with the Nether Update theme of making the nether more habitable. Tell me what you think.
