    Minecraft Shulker helmet

    Shulker helmet

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 08:42 AM PDT

This would give shulker shells a secondary use (not saying shulker boxes are useless or anything)

    Shulker Shell (accessory)

This doesn't require any processing through a crafting table. You just directly smack a shulker shell on your head as if its any helmet and call it a day.

it doesn't give that much protection itself, only +1 amour points (1 less than iron helmets)

However, arrows (only arrows, not other projectiles) deal 10% less damage

    Shulker Shelmet

This is a stronger version of the above helmet.

    Crafting:

purpur block shulker shell purpur block
poped chorus fruit poped chorus fruit

This gives 2 amour points naturally.

The main use of this is that arrows deal 15% less damage and shulker bullets deal only 1 hp of dmg

When you shift, arrows deal 25% less damage. This is a reference to how arrows bounce off shulkers when they're closed.

    Reinforced Shulker shelmet

This is an upgrade to the shulker shelmet.

    Crafting:

    obsidian shulker shelmet obsidian
    end stone end stone

natural protection: 3 amour points and 2 amour toughness

Arrows deal 20% less damage, shulker bullets deal no damage (still gives you levation)

all other projectiles (fireballs, eggs etc) deal 5% less dmg

    Notes

    1. this would be the first tiered amour (shulker shell->shulker shelmet->renforced shulker shelmet)
    2. Gives shulker shells a second use
    3. when you use a shulker shelmet to craft the reinforced version, the enchantments should pass over (if possible with Java coding)
    4. you can dye all 3 of the accessories

Approaching a Woodland Mansion with the Bad Omen effect respawns the Illagers inside it.

    Posted: 11 Oct 2019 04:01 PM PDT

This can be useful on both single player and multiplayer worlds. In single player this allows someone to challenge themselves against a mansion multiple times. In multiplayer it allows multiple people to experience a Woodland Mansion without having to travel great distances to find an unconquered one.

I understand that this could be used to farm Woodland Mansions for Evokers, but the Bad Omen effect can already be used to farm Villages for Evokers in the current state of the game.

    Thoughts?

Some of the desert temples’ blocks have enchanting table words written on them.

    Cartographers should display their maps

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 07:42 AM PDT

Village houses with cartography tables should spawn with one to three maps in item frames. That would make it feel like they're displaying their work instead of just putting it in chests.

Enchanting tables should send a signal when a player approaches

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 10:49 AM PDT

When a player approaches an enchanting table, the book will turn to face the player. If this sends a redstone signal in the form of a comparator pulse or an observer pulse, then that could allow for a bunch of fun niche designs. An example would be seamless automatic doors, as enchanting tables can see players through walls you could completely hide the redstone needed to open said door.

Short demonstration, imagine the lamps activating when I get close- https://gyazo.com/c5c66f0bedf2c629914c6ebd310337d4

    Fully customisable creative inventory

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 09:37 AM PDT

    The problem

Every time we get an update, new blocks and items are added. This makes the creative inventory a bit "crowded", so that finding a particular item may be a difficult, especially since done items are organised in a seemingly random way.

A good solution would be making the inventory more logically organised, but why don't we go a step further and allow everyone to organise their inventory however they want.

    The solution

Similarly to how we can customise the game with resource packs and data packs, we would have a new folder where we can place files (.json or .txt, maybe) that specify how the creative inventory should be sorted.

    The customisation options are:

    • Custom tabs: maybe you want a tab just for nether blocks and items or a one for water themed stuff.

    • The order of items: some of the newer items should be in another place. Also, you could put all your most used blocks at the top.

    • Which items appear: you could add anything to the inventory that isn't already there, like command blocks or even items with a certain nbt data or blocks with a certain block state.

    • Compacting many items in one slot: similarly to how the recipe book has alternate recipes in one slot, you would be able to do the same, accessing them by right-clicking the slot.

    • Quickly switch between different inventory arrangements: similarly to how you switch trades in a villagers GUI, you'd be able to change your inventory by clicking an arrow. Each sorting would have its own file.

If you think it would take a lot of work to create the file, don't worry, as someone could make a simple program or website with a simple interface, which assembles the file for you.

Cotton - an alternative to wool plus ways to get it

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 03:16 AM PDT

    INTRODUCTION

Cotton is a new crop type that will serve as an alternative way to craft wool and string. Plus it can be turned into cloth

    USES

Cotton is a crop that grows twice as slowly as other crops and give you only a single cotton, but the more cotton you plant, the more you'll inevitably get. Cotton can be used to craft a cotton block (9 cotton = 1 cotton block), to craft wool (4 cotton = 1 wool), and a way to get cloth (6 cotton = 1 cloth). This will also help with people who try to avoid killing animals whether by choice or challenge, or peaceful players

    CLOTH

So what's cloth used for and why do I need it? Well, cloth can be used as an alternative for leather. Any recipe you'd normally use leather for can be swapped to use cloth instead. That includes books! Are you like me and hate gathering tons of leather for books, well cloth will make this so much easier. Cloth will also give leather armour. This won't take away from leather though, only serve as a useful alternative. (This includes being able to be used to craft item frames, leather horse armour, etc)

    COTTON BLOCK

So that's all well and good, but what is a cotton block and is it more than yet another storage block? Yes, it is! Cotton blocks can be used as a fuse. When lit, the fire will spread through it, destroying the cotton block and moving onto the next one(s). But it will only burn the cotton block, nothing else (except TNT, coming to that soon). That means you can thread cotton blocks through jungles or house without it being lit. What's more, cotton blocks will trigger TNT and can do this from a very long distance away as not needing redstone

HOW TO GET IT AND CATTAIL

So how can I get cotton? Two ways. The easiest and most efficient is through the cotton plant. Cotton plants are a new crop planted on farmland. Each plant will give one cotton. Cotton seeds can be found in dungeon or mineshaft chests or as a rare trade by the wandering trader

You can also get cotton from cattail (1 cattail = 1 cotton, 2 cattail = 4 sticks). Cattail can be found in the edges of rivers and swamps

    Cat in desert temples

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 05:37 AM PDT

There should be a cat in the desert temples. This is because Ancient Egyptians worshipped cats, and would make sense without being too op.

This suggestion is based upon the "Add Honey to Pyramid Loot Tables" suggestion.

Map rooms in woodland mansions should spawn with actual maps in item frames.

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 10:31 AM PDT

Currently, woodland mansions have a chance to spawn a room with a table with carpet on top resembling a map. This should be replaced with item frames containing maps of the area around the mansion.

Bees should occasionally perch of Iron Golems' shoulders

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 03:24 PM PDT

Given how big of an update golems got alongside bees, and the fact that plains villages provide quite a few trees for bee nests to spawn on, and golems literally hand out flowers, I think it'd be a pretty cute addition to have bees occasionally sit on golems' shoulders, they're even almost the perfect size for it!

    Weapon-crossbow with slowness arrows

    Unique ability

    Summons Zombies-48% Skeletons-48% Spiderjockeys-2%

Fortune and Looting should affect xp.

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 05:23 AM PDT

The Looting enchantment on weapons should increase the experience points dropped by killing a mob and the Fortune enchantment on pickaxes should do the same when mining ores.

The honeycomb block should stick to honey blocks, but not slime blocks.

    Posted: 11 Oct 2019 11:43 PM PDT

Honeycomb blocks are wax, and like wax paper, things don't stick to it, including slime. They can still stick to honey blocks though. Imagine the redstone mechanics.

Honey bottles in a cauldron over a camp fire should make honey blocks.

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 03:48 PM PDT

Honey blocks are a nightmare to craft together in any meaningful quantity. You need four inventory slots to make one block, so making an alternate crafting method could work wonders.

    Ghost/Will o' Whisps

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 11:04 AM PDT

I thought of a fun mob for the upcoming Soulsand Valley.

It looks like a phantom. Imagine a phantom but without the blue skin and cream belly. Only the bony parts (with a skull instead of a fleshy head). The eyes shine light blue instead of green. The particles on it's wings become blue sparks, similar to the ones of torches and furnaces.

It has a different AI, adapted to the Nether's tight caves. It appears after the player stays in a Soulsand Valley for a time equal to one day in the Overworld.

When it bites the player, it makes it burn with (blue?) fire.

After killing the dragon and freeing the end, endermans will stop enjoying the sounds idle4

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 12:23 PM PDT

The sounds resembles the endermen saying "Look for the eye". Wich means, find the stronghold, the end portal and save us. After doing so, the endermen are free and won't make the sound anymore.

Edit: Small error in the title, it's not enjoying, it's emmiting. Auto corrector let me down again. For some reason I can't edit the title.

4 new crossbow enchantments that will give new meaning to the crossbow

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 03:47 AM PDT

Actually 5 enchantments if you count a curse. These new enchantments - plus a curse to keep it interesting - should make the crossbow a better weapon, I tried to balance it all out by making rules of what some can and cannot be combined with and by adding a curse. Hope these ideas are as much appreciated as my elytra enchantment ideas and hoe enchantment ideas, thank you

    BUST - I

    • Allows crossbow shots to bypass armour. Cannot be paired with Piercing, Multishot, Reloading, or Quick Charge. Does not bypass armour toughness

    RELOADING - I

    • Reloads crossbow at the same pace as if a player were doing it but automatically. Cannot be paired with Bust

    RANGE - I-V

    • Increases maximum range of a crossbow

    MAGNETIC IRONY - I-III

    • Arrows home towards enemies that wield metallic tools/weapons or wear metallic armour

    MISFIRE - I-IV (Curse)

    • Chance for arrows to misfire and damage the wielder of the weapon by half of the damage it would've dealt

    Owls

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 01:53 PM PDT

Owls will be able to come in two variants; the forest owl, and the snowy owl. Forest owls obviously spawn in forests and snowy owls in snowy tundras. As well as an owl, the forest will also have rabbits

Owls will spawn at night and wait on high areas until prey - a rabbit or chicken - runs in their line of sight. When this happens they attack. Owls, when killed, drop feathers, and can drop raw chicken, and rabbit meat

As well as being a cool now mob that rarely spawns in forests or snowy tundras, owls can also be tamed. You can tame an owl with rabbit meat and/or raw chicken

If having an owl follow you around wasn't enough, owls serve as a sentry too. When they are set to guard (sit them down somewhere and they will automatically do this) they will screech loudly when any hostile mobs move near them

Eye of Ender doesn't like you

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 12:35 PM PDT

What if the eye of ender while in the player's inventory had the ability to either increase spawn rate of hostile mobs and/or make more obscure mobs appear?

It could act as a buffer to more stronger mobs for those who want a challenge and equipment since its an item that requires you to at least kill an endermen and go to the nether for blaze rods.

Thinking for a while about phantoms and how they could in some way play a role in the overworld while at the same time not be an inconvenience for players who tend not to sleep

The eye of ender does already have a function but I can't get past the "eye" part when all it's used for is to find the end dungeon. If it's an eye then something is looking around....And can see you.

/setworldspawn should be able to override spawnpoints

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 03:46 PM PDT

Sometimes, in maps, people use /spawnpoint, and it permanently sets their spawnpoint to the specified location. This can't be changed except by either externally editing the map or by making the player sleep in a bed, destroying the bed, and killing them. Both are very exhausting, and that gives me a new, simple suggestion for a command:

    Old: /setworldspawn <x> <y> <z>

    Updated: /setworldspawn <x> <y> <z> [overrideManualSpawnpoints]

Typing in either true or false in [overrideManualSpawnpoints] will overwrite all manually set spawnpoints.

    Pros with this idea:

    • Override Manual Spawnpoints is optional, making it backwards-compatible with any other commands.
      • This also means that people who won't use it can ignore it.
    • In maps where lots of people frequently set their own spawns (or perhaps with a command block), spawnpoints can efficiently be removed.

    Cons with this idea:

    • None, really, since 'clearing' a spawnpoint makes it update with the world spawnpoint, instead of manually overriding it per-player with the default world spawn.

    Bamboo Weapons

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 03:45 PM PDT

The only uses for bamboo are sticks and scaffolds. If there was a weapon made of bamboo, e.g. a spear, or blowguns, that would make bamboo more meaningful.

Feel free to expand on this idea!!
