Ores on the other block types

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 09:58 AM PST

I'm surprised no one has suggested that yet, and even more surprised it's not on the FPS List. It's such an obvious suggestion.

It's so simple. Just put an ore texture on the diorite/andesite/granite block. It might add a bit of variety to caves.

    Iron Golems Break Down

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 11:31 AM PST

no, this isn't about iron golems having a dance move they can bust out.

Iron Golems are basically automatons and based off of those terracotta golems, even if they are magic, they're still made of iron. Those get pretty hot when moving.

    Basically -

If an Iron Golem is inside a village and at low health, it will go into a rest position and close it's eyes. From here, Blacksmiths will prioritize these Iron Golems to heal, and will drop their job and hobble as fast as they can. The only exception is during a Raid or a Zombie Raid.

This is so they don't get stuck by you trading.

For the Mods: I disagree with rule 3

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 05:00 PM PST

Rule three says to keep ideas realistic and concise. I agree with the realistic part. However, I do not agree with the concise part. I have never seen a post that is too detailed, but I sure as hell have seem a lot that aren't as fleshed out as they should be. Since there is a strictly enforced thing coming up, telling people to read the rules, I feel like this part of rule 3 could be factoring into the number of poorly detailed posts.

That's all, I guess it's a bit ironic I'm keeping this so concise. I just think that part of the rule should be removed.

    New enchantment: Chain Lighting

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 07:42 AM PST

Chain Lighting will cause a small lighting bolt to to strike a nearby mob from the one you just hit. The effect only works if your sword is fully charged.

There are three levels to it:

Chain Lighting I Only one bolt will occur and the bolt does 2 hearts.

Chain Lighting II One bolt comes off the first mob you hit and a second from the mob hit by the bolt the first does 3 hearts and the second does 2 hearts.

Chain Lighting III Like II but there is a third bolt that acts the same way except it does 1 heart and the second bolt does 3 hearts and the first bolt does 4 hearts.

This can not be combined with Sweeping Edge.

Let me know what you think. Srry if bad grammar on phone.

Uncolored Concrete and a better recipe!

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 11:07 AM PST

Concrete Powder can now be crafted with any amount of Sand/Gravel and Dye, you don't have to use 8. This would just be a small change to make the recipe more versatile.

You can craft 1-8 Concrete Powder with a water bucket to craft Concrete. The bucket is left over.

If you replace the Dye with Sand or Gravel, it crafts uncolored Concrete, which has a sepia tone. You can add dye to uncolored Concrete to dye it that color.

Right now, Concrete is inefficient and annoying to make. This is a shame because it's actually a really nice looking block. These changes would make Concrete a more viable building material in Survival.

    The opposite of Resistance, Vulnerability

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 12:08 PM PST

In the game we have plenty of helpful potions like Regeneration, Strength, and Speed, and harmful effects like Poison, Weakness, and Slowness that are the opposite of the helpfuls. Now, take Resistance. It resists damage, and is helpful, but there's no opposite. I propose a new effect called Vulnerability that makes targets take 20% more damage. It can be brewed as a potion from a new nether mushroom (I'd say the blue and orange one) and also can be gained by walking into the mushroom, similar to the Wither Rose. When an entity is hit and the effect is active, they have broken damage-indicator hearts (the brown hearts you get when you hit a mob). It has 2 tiers of potions, similar to Poison.

    /Name command

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 10:30 AM PST

Come on...I CAN'T be the only person who is annoyed creating a map or base in creative with pets, having to go look around in the creative inventory for an anvil and name tag. We need a command for naming things. And, it cannot only give you a custom name or name tag, it can name an item! So, who's with me on this suggestion?

Easier use of arrows (and quiver)

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 12:50 PM PST

So, Mojang added a whole bunch of different tipped arrows, and spectral arrows.

However, most of us just use basic arrows with infinity, because the time it takes to select a special arrow just isn't worth it.

Here's a suggestion: A use for the quiver.

Here's the idea: - When the quiver is equipped in the offhand slot, the quiver appears on the player's back. - On the bottom left slot of the player's, it shows the arrow currently in use (the one would that would be shot should the player use a biw or crossbow), as well as the number of arrows of that type. - When the quiver is equipped, pressing Q no longer drops an item. Instead, it cycles through the player's arrows, selecting the next arrow, meaning the player would no longer need to go in their inventory to select different arrow types.

Now, the keybind it replaces could be Q, or shift+Q, or F, shift+F, or something entirely different, like R. The point is it gives you a way to change arrows. I propose Q, because its not essential to drop items, its easy to use (close to wasd) and Quiver starts with Q.

Here are some additional ideas, but this more hypothetical brainstorming here.

Enchantments: A player could enchant the quiver with the following enchantments. Again, this is more brainstorming than concrete suggestions.

    • Immunity (unsure of name): Gives the player immunity to their own arrows. This means you could use tipped arrows (speed, strength, etc.) on yourself without taking damage, giving you an easy alternative to filling your inventory with potions.

    • Quickdraw: Make the quickdraw enchantment a quiver enchantment instead of a crossbow exclusive. This might make the bow OP however.

    • Festivity: Makes the quiver select Fireworks instead of arrows, letting you use fireworks on the crossbow without the hassle of putting them in your offhand. (I also suggest buffing firework damage, because rn the crossbow is a little useless)

    • Archer's Grace: Decreases the movement speed penalty when aiming bow/loading crossbow.

    • Witchcraft (unsure of name): Increase duration of tipped arrow effects.

    • Recycling (unsure of name): Arrows that hit you go in your inventory.

So, tell me what you think! If you have any critiques/suggestions, please share!

    Item frames and movement

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 12:14 PM PST

When a block with an item frame moves, the item frame stays. It will not count as a block.

    Possible Functionality:

-Coloring a flying machine with maps.

Restless spirits rest(less) in Soulsand Velley!

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 01:16 PM PST

Sometimes, things dont want to pass on, and continue to stay in the world to haunt. So adding some sort of restless ghost in Soulsand Valley would be an amazing idea! These ghosts hide in the soul sand, indicated by particles popping out of the blocks every few seconds. Stepping on the block will cause the spirit to jump out and scare you, latching on and dealing 1 HP of damage every half second its on you. Your jumpng is also impaired when its gripping on you, so the only way to get rid of it is crouching repeately to shake it off. Slash at it to take it out before it goes back into the block, it only has 20 HP. They have a chance to drop a special blue powder that can be used in place of a blaze powder when making a fire charge that instead of making fire, it creates a bluish flame circle that freezes mobs who are in it, kinda like a lingering potion of slowness, but speed is completly disabled. I can't think of a name for these ghosts, but i will describe their appearance: They look like transparent white humanoids with blue patches and blue eyes. Can you think of a name for this Soulsand Valley ghost? Ring your idea in the comments for a name.

    Wet sponges reproduce like mushrooms

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 09:02 PM PST

I think gating them with having to clear out a water temple to get the initial ones is fine but having to clear a temple out just to get a couple of them seems pretty expensive given what they do.

A new way to farm honey, BOSS FIGHT

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 04:02 AM PST

considering it takes way toooooo much effort to make a bunch of honey blocks, maybe we could have a mini boss, like a queen bee to fight.

an item could be received to basically become the queen and control bees to produce more honey, killing more queen bees to collect the item, you can combine them to control more bees.

To go along with the target block

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 08:18 AM PST

So I think we can all assume that the target block will come along with fleching table usability so I think there should be three items you can craft with it

1 the iron bow it is made the same way a normal bow is made but with iron ingot instead of sticks. This would have increased durability. And mabye a slight damage buff.

2 golden bow would the same thing for the most part with same crafting recipe with gold ingots of course. No damage buff and low durability but like normal gold it would be easily enchantable that would make it so it could like a one boss fight use really well enchanted bow.

3 emerald arrow this would be an arrow that natrualy deals extra damage this would not work with infinity and would not be able to have potion effects any it would craft 4 with 1 emerald one stick and one feather

    Thanks for your time

TLDR emerald arrow would do more damage with no potion or enchant buffs

Gold bow lower duralbility made with gold super enchantable good use for one time raid, wither, and dragon fights.

Iron bow higher durability made with iron

    Another effect for eating pufferfish

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 06:47 PM PST

I reckon it'd make some sense for pufferfish to give you blindness when eaten. Currently, blindness is only obtainable in survival through suspicious stew, and with the current barrage of negative effects pufferfish gives you, I think it'd fit right in. It'd also be a perfect blend to have both blindness and nausea at the same time, so your vision is nearly completely impaired.

    Elytra attribute for mapmaking

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 08:03 PM PST

Since you can put attributes like attack speed on swords or movement speed on a stick, why not add an attribute for elytra? Flight speed: makes an elytra fly faster or slower depending on the value.

This would allow more custom stuff to be made with mapmaking

Glazed terracotta sticks to different sticky blocks based on color

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 08:34 PM PST

Now I'll admit, I'm not the most redstone savvy person, so I can't really think of any designs using this, but I'm pretty sure experts in the field would love this.

My idea is that different glazed terracotta could stick or slip from sticky pistons, slime blocks and honey blocks based on color. For example, blue glazed terracotta would stick to honey blocks and sticky pistons, but slip from slime blocks, whereas pink glazed terracotta would stick to only slime blocks, while slipping from honey blocks and sticky pistons, while green glazed terracotta would stick to slime and honey blocks, but not sticky pistons, and so on and so forth.

There are 8 possible combinations, including slipping from everything and sticking to everything, so I think it'd make sense if there are 2 colors per combination. However, sticking to everything is a bit redundant, as most blocks do that already, so instead I think slipping from everything should have 4 colors, rather than 2.

Edit: I realized the post was basically just a wall of text, so I edited it to make it a bit easier to read.

    Custom death messages

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 07:08 PM PST

I think there should be something like a death name tag. You would put it on an item that can kill someone and the tag would be like a fill in the blank. (Username) has been killed by _____. I think this could be fun especially in multiplayer to see other players thoughts on your message.

    Instruments

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 11:52 AM PST

There would be a couple instruments to choose from each with a secret ability

Ukelele: when you play the right tune lightning would strike nearby

Concertina: would have water start seeping up from the ground when played correctly

Oboe: when you playing the beginning of "in the hall of the mountain king"small rocky spikes would emerge from the ground

Banjo: when you play the beginning riff to "dueling banjos" a small tree would start growing

These would each require one diamond and various other materials to make to hopefully balance them out

    Aquatic Miner

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 09:02 AM PST

Description: Collect every overworld ore while exploring an underwater cave in one go.

How to get: Mine every overworld ore while in an underwater cave.

Conditions: You must be underwater for at least 1 minute for it to count. If your head leaves the water even once, the achievement resets. The ores you mine must be naturally generated and not placed by a player. Achievement progression will register when you collect the dropped item from the ore. You don't have to mine for emeralds though.

Completion Reward: The achievement and a shirt that looks like what the Drowned's are wearing.

Why this should be in the game: Other than giving the player a challenge, not many people explore underwater caves since they're normally not given a reason to.

Edit: I forgot about emerald ore, so I've edited the post a little to compensate for it.
