Pillager’s change depending on biome. Posted: 07 Nov 2019 06:01 AM PST Similar to villagers. I think pillagers should change depending on their biome. So snow biome pillagers would have fur coats and snow golems. Give each a distinct feature like the pillagers in the jungle biome use poison arrows. This would make pillagers more interesting to fight and encounter. Maybe change the loot of the tower and change up the raids a bit? [link] [comments] |
Lilypads and sea grass HAVE to change colour by biome. Posted: 07 Nov 2019 10:11 AM PST Ever wanted to make a koiless koi pond with some lilypads into it? But the lilpy pads are green and mossy, brown and slimy, Old and dusty, boring a useless decoration now. And sea grass just becouse I hate the way it looks in swamps. My idea is to make Lily pads (and possibly sea grass) biome colourd. And with sea grass, it will change the slightest of colours and also adding detail on how the sea grass has been treated in it's home. Will make sense to have clean plants with a healthy look on them to put on a lake. Also, Lily Pads sticking to the ground by the rute which they have Irl, will make it much more realistec and pleasent. [link] [comments] |
The Ash Plains - A spooky new nether biome Posted: 07 Nov 2019 10:07 AM PST Hello people! Today I've got a suggestion of another nether biome that I've been working on for a while now - the ash plains! I know that ash blocks and a desert like biome in the nether have been suggested quite a bit before, but I've got some unique new features that I've integrated into it that I'd like so share. So let's get right into it. Information is included in the imgur posts. The Ash Plains and Ash Blocks: https://imgur.com/gallery/baG0Vkk The Lurker and Backspike Sets: https://imgur.com/gallery/ONIbF4k Dark Nether Brick and the Dark Catacombs: https://imgur.com/gallery/gbNdVOF Semi-bonus, The Baby Phoenix: https://imgur.com/gallery/ofVct2i So there we have it! Hopefully some nice new features, wrapped up in a cool new biome! As always, feedback and suggestions are always appreciated, so please leave comments to tell me what you think! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Nov 2019 10:46 AM PST I personally feel that the honeycomb block should also be a sticky block with all the functionality of the current honey block, except it can transmit redstone signals when powered. As for the honey block, I feel that you should be able to submerge/sink/go through honey blocks, as they are a liquid in real-life. Not only that, but there is currently no block that people can go through that can also be pushed by a piston, and I think it would make a lot of sense for the honey block to fill that gap. Edit: and with this feature we could have sinking entities be pushed/pulled while they are submerged, so we can have pistons that can pull mobs instead of just pushing them. [link] [comments] |
It's be pretty cool if we could get Zombie Horses in the Nether Update. Posted: 07 Nov 2019 09:24 AM PST That way, we'd have all of the horse varieties naturally in the game. [link] [comments] |
Shift-clicking a noteblock lowers the pitch by one semitone Posted: 07 Nov 2019 03:14 AM PST Currently shift-clicking noteblocks does nothing special. Why is this not a feature? Would make things more convenient Edit: Some have suggested this should only happen with an empty hand. I'm all for that [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Nov 2019 07:01 AM PST (This is a repost but I thought that it would be pertinent with the Nether Update apporoching) Currently, while exploring Nether Fortresses we may come across loot chests made of wood. This is not really coherent with the steril hell-ish dimention that is the Nether. Thinking about what could make more sense in this dimension, I came up with a concept that could add much more than a simple retextured chest : Nether Pots. Nether Pots could be found in Nether Structures instead of regular chest. The loot that it contains would stay the same but hey could also be crafted by players by creating a U shape with nether wart blocks and putting a chest in the middle in a crafting tables. Just like chests, they would drop all the items they contain when broken. I envision them like red Zelda-like pots.To allow players to use it for decoration in different build styles, it would also be dyeable just like shulker boxes. What i described until there is pretty basic but here comes the intresting part : Nether pots would be moveable by pistons and would be affected by gravity ! With this simple feature, nether pots now become an unique block allowing for all sorts of creative uses. I'm pretty sure the redstone community would quickly create a ton of unique contraptions taking avantage of this characteristic as it always do. I think this feature could bring a lot to Minecraft by allowing players to enhance interiors, builds, redstone machines and more. Repost edit : As this idea was quite liked and vanilla friendly, I added the suggestion to Minecraft Feedback website : https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360042638011-Nether-Pot. You can support it there if you'd like to see it in the game. (The post also contains a concept model) Hope you like it. [link] [comments] |
New crafting table - Potter's wheel Posted: 07 Nov 2019 09:02 AM PST In this post I will talk about the potter's wheel. A potter's wheel is a device for forming utensils and ceramic products, which allows using the inertia of rotation to create the shape of products. In Minecraft will look like in real life, and the functionality will be similar to the of the loom. Thus, there is a new craft-pottery. If we click the right mouse button, we will open it and be able to do a variety of pottery. After that, we can make different shapes, different colors and several patterns on these products. After all, clay is only needed for bricks, and ordinary pots are already fed up. Pots, pans, vases of different shapes and colors. ll of them will also remain for decorations. After that, we will collect and vases with pots, and banners. Also, you can vote for this idea on Minecraft Feedback: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360054747712-New-crafting-table-Potter-s-wheel?flash_digest=d34565608b929f025cbf31012d5c1d542676929d [link] [comments] |
Getting Zombie Horses by breeding a Skeleton and a normal horse. Posted: 07 Nov 2019 04:18 PM PST Zombie horses are currently creative/commands only. I think it would be a cool thing if you could get them in survival by breeding a skeleton horse and a normal one. Feed both wheat, they breed, and then there's a baby zombie horse. They would be rideable upon becoming an adult. [link] [comments] |
New mob idea: The Indestructible Blob Posted: 07 Nov 2019 04:10 PM PST They'd be fairly large and tall (about the size of the largest slime), and be reddish or purplish in color. They would be very slow, no faster than a walking cow. They would also be able to survive in daylight, but at night time would be able to move somewhat faster. Primarily, the source of their danger is they'd be just about indestructible. Manufactured weapons won't harm them, not even enchanted diamond swords or axes. They'd be vulnerable only to explosions or extreme heat, things like creeper explosions, TNT, lava, and so on. They would have no ranged attacks, but their melee attack is both deadly and poisonous. If they could somehow be destroyed, they would drop a random item that would have likely been found in the inventory of a previous player. Large amounts of water would harm them, so they would avoid swimming. Rain would be the worst. Bottles of water might do slight amounts of damage, but not enough to really take one out unless you have a huge number of them, and might make them briefly retreat. Blobs might be encountered underground but be more rare, since food is scarce down below. Blobs would also hate cold biomes, and would stay away from snow blocks even if they aren't harmed by snow specifically. They wouldn't spawn in cold biomes or in the Nether. Blobs shouldn't be divisible like slimes, since we have two divisible mobs already. Inspiration for this mob comes from a certain 8-bit home video game ... look for the purple blobby things that can't be damaged by arrows but will very quickly consume the player on touch. Asian Hornets in Minecraft 1.15 Posted: 07 Nov 2019 11:47 AM PST Minecraft was entitled to bees recently so why not a hostile mode like bees, who attack them and are dangerous. Here are my ideas : Asian Hornet : Asian hornets are the natural predators of bees and attack the hive if they see one. The asian hornets, if you have a hive, would attack the bees to kill them and take their territory. The hornets have a hive but huge, the player will be able to enter to explore and destroy it with TNT for example. Asian Hornet Hive : In the hive we could find a treasure or a primordial object that would help us in the game. Unlike bees they do not lose their sting and the poison lasts for 2 or 3 minutes. They would be very hostile mobs and more fast than bees and would inflict a lot of damage unlike them due to their deadly poison. Asian hornets would appear in all depths of forests, especially black forests. They would make a high bass sound and make a lot more noise than a bee. So it will be easy to spot them. They have a chance to make a nest in a player base. A little like the raids with the pillagers they will come to your base to try to settle. They could have such a well exploited utility for example to defend the base of a possible intruder but the player will have to bear their noises and should not be around even at night because he is also an intruder for them. After the players will do what they want because it's Minecraft. They would be as numerous as bees. While exploring the world one could fall on a swarm which makes a patrol and if the player is near this swarm the hornets will attack the player. Minecraft lacks danger especially during the day, so the introduction of asian hornets could be good and add a difficulty in the day and especially to protect bees like in real life. Give me suggestion if you have ideas and criticism if you want ? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Nov 2019 12:54 PM PST When going above y=1000 in elytra they would go up in flames and you would get the "Burning Icarus" achievement with the caption "Flew to close to the sun" [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Nov 2019 06:51 AM PST Spectral arrows should reveal every mob in a 10 block radius of where it hits or lands, rather than revealing a single enemy. The trade off could be it dealing less damage than a regular arrow. This would make the arrow more viable. [link] [comments] |
Wither Skeletons spawn with Shields and become tougher for the Nether Update. Posted: 06 Nov 2019 06:50 PM PST Seeing the new Chopping encahntment for axes, I believe that Wither Skeletons should use shields to fight you for now on. Well, some of them have the chance to have a shield (as well as a Gold Helmet they took from the Piglins). And commonly block your attacks before striking you! This would make Wither Skeletons much more challenging and fucn to fight against. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Nov 2019 04:23 PM PST Let's face it. The End is boring. Nobody likes traversing thousands of blocks while seeing nothing but chorus plants and endermen while you look for an end city. The Nether used to be boring like this, but it's getting an update which will make it much more exiting. If the Nether can get its own update, why can't the End? So here are some ideas I came up with to make the End better! Bellshroom Forests Bellshroom Forests would be large forests of massive Bellshroom Trees with bark that can be crafted into purple Bellshroom Planks and also has purple mushroom blocks. The top layer of the terrain in these biomes would be made of a new dark blue grass type on End Stone called Endmoss. The terrain would have mini Bellshrooms and purple endgrass. These biomes would also have a new mob called Cockatrices! Cockatrices Cockatrices would be the main source of food in the end, alongside chorus fruit. These would be aggressive giant purple chickens that would be fast and squawk loudly when they would begin to charge. This squawk would also cause other nearby Cockatrices to attack. They drop Cockatrice wings which can be cooked for a filling meal. They would be bred using chorus fruit, and can lay large Cockatrice eggs. Endfrost Tundra Endfrost Tundras would be biomes made of Frozen Endstone. They would also have large spikes that can spawn on the bottom and top of End Islands that are made of Endfrost, a new purple type of ice that can only be harvested with silk touch and is more slippery than Blue Ice. These biomes also contain Teleweeds, which teleports any entity that comes in contact with it to a random nearby location on the ground. End Caves Caves would begin to generate in the end, with End Vines which will teleport you to the top or bottom of the vine when climbed. They also spawn Endermites, and Infested End Stone is added. Ender Quartz Ore can also be found now as well, which can be used to make black versions of quartz blocks and some new Redstone components. Ender Creepers Ender Creepers would spawn all across the end, and even in the Dragon arena. These skinny, taller, and purple creepers will teleport any block that can be blown up to a random nearby location, instead of destroying them. When killed, they drop Gunpowder and occasionally Ender Pearls. Ender Merchants Ender Merchants would be NPCs that would travel across the end, searching for End Cities. They could throw Ender Pearls to navigate islands, and they will trade rare items with you for Diamonds. Follow them closely to locate the nearest End City! Shulker Huts Shulker huts would spawn in Endfrost Tundras. They would be made of magenta and black wool, and would house a single shulker inside. There would also be End Rods inside. Ender Storms Powerful Ender Storms can strike the Far End, causing rain that slows you down to fall from the sky and powerful lighting that causes small explosions. To protect your base from these strikes, End Rods will prevent these powerful strikes in a 12 block radius around them. More Islands End Islands can now occasionally spawn above the normal island height in the Far End. Green Fire All fire is now green in the end, and will be green in other dimensions if fire is lit on Endstone. Obsidian Pillars Obsidian Pillars now spawn around the end, Crystal and all, to spice up the End a little. I hope you like my ideas! [link] [comments] |
Dragon's Breath can be put in Cauldrons. Posted: 07 Nov 2019 11:37 AM PST Simply right-click the Cauldron with a bottle of Dragon's Breath, and the Cauldron will be filled one level. You can then take the Dragon's Breath back by right-clicking the Cauldron with an empty bottle. Adding Water to a Cauldron filled with Dragon's Breath will remove the Dragon's Breath and emit a hissing sound. Breaking the Cauldron will spread the Dragon's Breath all over the floor similar to how Dragon Fireballs work. Going inside the Cauldron deals damage. The Cauldron emits purple, swirling particles. Stone Signs / Plaques / Inscriptions Posted: 07 Nov 2019 07:50 AM PST Why hasn't there been a stone / cobble / diorite / andesite / granite and the polished or smooth versions of signs yet? Stone inscriptions have existed for thousands of years before we made wooden signs IRL so I think it would be really fitting if these existed and would look amazing! It wouldn't even be that difficult of an upgrade as well. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Nov 2019 09:04 AM PST One of the oldest features of Minecraft that has almost never been updated is fire. In the past the length of fires and the spread of fires through forest and other burnable structures has been changed, but the effects of fire have always been the same: Burnable blocks disappear completely without a trace. This has always bothered me. Because when a real forest burns you will see the charred remains of trees and scorched earth beneath them. When a real building burns, you see burned/charred remains of the structure and piles of rubble on the ground. Yet what do you see in Minecraft? Nothing except of fields of pristine green grass. This makes no sense and should be changed. I propose to following 'small' changes to improve the effects of fire on the Minecraft world. Changes to fire behavior
New blocks Scorched grass (or other ground cover variant)
Scorched wooden planks
Scorched versions of all normal wooden blocks (doors, trapdoors, etc)
Ash block
Burned Logs
Potential new biome
The proposed changes could improve to game in many ways, for example:

Piglins can spawn in gold armor Posted: 07 Nov 2019 05:49 AM PST I think it would be cool if piglins would spawn in gold armor. People give them gold and they obviously like it so why dont they wair gold armor it would make more sense than iron or diamond cause where would they get that in the Nether? But gold gold is the new iron in the Nether! Pls if they have so much gold why don't they use it for armor? Its strong, protective, and replaceable. In a dangerous environment like the Nether you are going to need to protect yourself even if it is just a little protection its better than getting shot by a ghast or sent flying by a piglin beast. Make the time it takes for entity’s to go through a neather portsl the same as the player Posted: 06 Nov 2019 10:09 PM PST Hear me out, it doesn't make sense that chickens and villagers go into the nether as soon as the enter the portal. It shouldn't be like this, it should be that it takes the 4 or 5 seconds it takes to get transported to the nether. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Nov 2019 03:04 AM PST As it says on the tin: Wands and Magic. Crafting: Wands would be crafted using a diamond in the top-mid slot, gold nugget in the low-mid slot, a stick in the middle and the rest of the slots filled out with Magic Powder. The Wands design will be a stick with gold on the bottom, and a crystal on the top surrounded by a rainbow-esque glow around it Magic Powder would be made with Diamonds in the mid-left, mid-right, top-mid, and low-mid, Emeralds in the top-right, low-right, low-left, and top-left, additonally you would need a Blaze Powder in the middle. This would give you 16 pieces of Magic Powder, what would you need 16 Magic powder for, when you only need 6 you ask? Well i'll tell you. Spells and Durability: Let's start with the basics, when you right click with an empty Wand in your hand, you would enter a GUI where there is a slot in the middle, three others in a triangle around it, and three additional Rune slots. The inner slot is for primary spells, the three outer are for secondary Ingredients. But let's start with the Durability of Wands first. Wands have 100 base durability (This can be upgraded with enchants), each Spell cost a certain amount of Durability, and when the Wand runs out it will lose its glow, and wont work until it's refilled. You can refill the Wand by putting it in a Crafting Table along with 1-8 Magic Powders (1 Magic Powder=25 Durability). Spells are split into five groups: Basic, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Other. Basic is the basic five spells (which will be explained later) Rare, Epic, and Legendary are respectively stronger, and upgraded versions of their predecessors. Other is for recreational spells like healing and travel. Let's start with the Basic spells. (Name) (Cost) (Durability cost) (Effect) Mark 5 Charges for 1 Coal 3 Shoots a piece of coal with a trail of smoke following it, if it hits an enemy, the wil get the Spectral effect until Death. Spike 4 Charges for 1 Iron 5 Shoots out an Iron Spike which deals 5 Base Damage on hit. Freeze 1 Charge for 1 Lapis 10 Shoots a chunk of Lapis with a trail of icy particles, will give Slowness X for 5 seconds on hit Burn 1 Charge for 1 Redstone 10 Shoots a piece of Redstone with a fiery trail, will give Undying Flame (just like fire, but wont go out until the time is over, can even resist water) for 10 seconds on hit ClusterShards 3 Charges for 1 Diamond 7 Shoots a Diamond which deals 10 impact damage and explodes into 5-10 pieces of shrapnel, each dealing 5 damage on hit. Rare, Epic and Legendary spells are WIP, so are Runes, but if enough people ask for them, i will make a followup post Other spells: Heal 1 Charge for 1 Block of Lapis 15 Shoots a block of Lapis which explodes on impact and heals everyone within a 2 block radius 10 health. Teleport 3 Charges for 1 Ender Pearl 10 Instantly teleports you to the point you are pointing at, if there is no solid ground to stand on atleast 3 block under, a red X will appear as your crosshair, it deals 3 recoil damage. That's all i have for now, but i'll be happy to make a follow up post if people want it, bye! [link] [comments] |
The ability to sleep during the day Posted: 07 Nov 2019 07:43 AM PST You can sleep during the day and wake up at night, but if you try to sleep again, it will say "You have already slept" and you cannot miss the night. To sleep again, you must wait the night and sleep again during the day or skip the night. And if you slept at night, then miss the day will not work. If you skip the day, the Phantom won't spawn at night. [link] [comments] |

Altogether, this gives us a unique new kind of block to play with that can be aesthetic or heavily engineered depending on the type of player. It is not especially easy to obtain but neither should it be a big deal after a player has progressed far enough. Mapmakers might create some form of moving, alterable floor of clouds to navigate across, or something like that. If nothing else, wind, cloud density, and multiple cloud heights should give us more interesting skies. [link] [comments] |
