    Snow Golem AI modification

Snow Golems should run from monsters instead of firing snowballs when they get too close. This keeps the Snow Golem alive for longer. They already have low health anyway, so they could use the extra help. To deal with projectiles, Snow Golems should move to the side instead. This gives them a chance to avoid damage. Increasing the fire rate to be at the same rate as which you can take damage the fastest won't hurt.

Nitwits should "forget" to close doors behind them.

50% of the time when a nitwit opens a door to walk through it, it will not close it behind them.

Clerics should sell 2 random potions at Master level.

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 02:25 AM PST

Why? Well firstly, cleric's jobsites are brewing stands and that is where you make potions. Secondly, this could come as a useful, but not too overpowered trade for people who are looking to get potions.

I am sure by now you would have said, this would kind of ruin the whole point of going to the nether because players can now buy potions instead of having to brew them using blaze powder as fuel. To solve this issue, clerics can charge, etc 1 blaze powder along with their emerald pay. Kind of like you need a book to buy an enchanted book.

Simple potions, like speed or night vision, can have their price vary between 1 to 2 emeralds. Medium potions, like poison, weakness or slow falling, can cost between 4 to 6 emeralds. Regeneration potions are worth at least 10 emeralds.

The potions sold should just be regular, non extended, non splash potions. Just regular potions so that the players can do what they desire. What do you feel?

Wearing a Dragon Head could bestow See Invisibility

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 07:20 AM PST

I've seen a lot of suggestions about buffs that could be attached to wearing the dragon head, and all of it sounds great, but one buff I haven't seen suggested yet is the ability to see through Invisibility. Imagine in, say, PvP, if wearing a dragon head granted Truesight, you'd be trading valuable armor and stealth for a strong counter-ability. And since it's a rare supply obtaining a dragon head, buffs like this and others suggested make exciting goals.

    Bounty Hunting!

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 02:14 PM PST

Here is a proposed idea for a bounty hunting system added to villages.

A new villager is added: the Bounty Master. When interacted with, he will open a special UI which describes the bounty.

The target is a modified pillager which looks different and carries a special banner. When killed, the banner drops and you have to turn that in to collect the reward.

The target will take the place of the first pillager patrol that spawns while the bounty is active.

NOTE: Killing the target will not give you the bad omen effect. No "ominous banner" carrying illagers or pillager captains will spawn in the target's party. This prevents using the bounty system to farm raids.

There are three difficulties. Green is a basic patrol amount, yellow is more people, as well as a higher chance for vindicators and evokers. Red is much more people, with at least one ravager. You get emerald rewards based on the amount of enemies. One per pillager/vindicator, two for evoker, and three for ravager. The target has double emerald rewards.

The target will drop a special bounty banner which will be turned in for the reward. You can only take one bounty at a time, and cannot reuse banners gotten from past bounties.

When you get a bounty you will get a special UI. EXAMPLE: https://imgur.com/gallery/3eEXCRB (not drawn by me)

Massive thanks to u/Awryl and Joebot521 (who isn't on reddit)

They helped a lot with the brainstorming. Joebot521 drew the UI example.

EDIT: The UI would describe the type of crime the target might have done as well. For immersion.

    Tweaking Bee AI

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 06:25 AM PST

    Breeding

currently, you breed bees by feeding them entire flowers, this is kind of weird, bees don't straight up eat the flowers. If they don't eat placed flowers, why would they eat flowers stuffed into their mouthes by players?

If you see the spend some time with the bees in-game, you would realize that they occasionally eat from honey blocks near their nest. I feel like that could be used for breeding purposes.

When bee take a bite out and their nest isn't full, they would have a chance of getting breeding hearts and search for a mate.

When a honey block has been used more than multiple times, it would start having cracks (or another texture change) similar to the cracks when a player is breaking a block

    Attacking conditions

    1. when a player hits the hive/nest with an arrow, the nest would turn into a falling_block entity and fall to the ground, thus releasing angry bees after you in the process
    2. throwing a trident at a nest just destroys it, making nearby bees angry

    Interactions

    1. villagers (baby) may try and play with bees, the bees will sometimes mingle around with the children before heading off to do its job
    2. bees will land on iron golem's shoulders and rest sometimes
    3. When bees are happy (full hive population, lots of different flowers near their nest), they may sometimes do small cute acts:
      1. they will pollinate iron golems and the iron golems will have flowers on its texture for a few days
      2. they land on your head
      3. they land on villager's head (both baby and adult)

    Obtainable Llama Blankets

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 08:27 AM PST

The FPS List has banner patterns on elytra/beds, but what about those amazing llama blankets? It would be great to obtain those somehow and be able to put them on banners and beds. You could approximate some of them with banners, sure, but not all.

    Fog around unloaded chunks

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 01:57 PM PST

I know this is just a thing that Minecraft does, but I think that chunks just popping into view always felt unnatural. I think that unloaded chunks should have a slight bit of fog around them, that fades away when the chunk loads. Imagine view distance 2, where blocks neatly fade in.

    FULLY. FORMED. RIVERS

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 06:10 PM PST

Rivers should be long, continuous streams that lead from a mountain to a sea or lake. Being thinner closer to mountains and wider closer to waterbodies, like real rivers. Rivers in minecraft are too patchy and thin for me and just don't look pleasing at all. I think they should generate to be more fully formed instead of 100 or so little ponds

    Bash enchantment

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 12:23 AM PST

This enchantment would make shield a bit more useful than blocking hits. So basicially if you only have your shield in hand and run to a mob then hit it, mob would take more damage and knockbacked even further or when mob gets hit, it wouldn't move for 1 sec and each level would increase that up to 3 secs. Like bash 1,bash 2, bash 3

Trees should no longer be able to grow on paths in villages

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 03:08 PM PST

I've been squatting in a taiga village in my newest survival world, and there are so many trees in the village that I can't see which house is which. I think making it so trees won't generate on village paths would solve this problem.

The Cloudlands - a new dimension

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 04:52 AM PST

When sleeping, there is a small chance you will wake up in a dream world high up in the sky. This dream world is an area of floating clouds with stone structures, rainbows and even a pot of gold that generates somewhere on a floating island complete with an elf npc! (If you can find it).

    What is this dimension?

As stated above, it is a dream dimension. It builds upon the scrapped Sky Dimension that was changed into the End, and turns the Sky Dimension into a Dream Dimension. Here, there are elves that function similar to Villagers, and new mobs. The sky is a much deeper blue, and it is always daytime (noon) and hostile mobs will NEVER spawn, even in dark places. While weather can occur here, it occurs less frequently, with sunny being the most common.

    Structures

There are many structures here on floating clouds. These include:

Fountain of Friendship A unique fountain that spews out yellow smiley particles rather than water. You can use a bottle and a brewing stand to brew a Potion of Friendliness. Turns almost any mob friendly, and heals all pets within its radius. It will not work on neutral mobs, the Wither, and the Enderdragon however. You cannot turn pillagers or Creepers friendly with this potion however.

Pot of Gold A cauldron with gold inside it. Breaking said cauldron causes 5 gold ingots to come out, but doing so will make the little elf mad, and throw coals at you. This cauldron generates only ONCE to prevent farming.

    Weather Globe

A massive sphere of hollow clear glass that can be entered through a door. This weather globe when first generated, does not produce snow. In order to make this globe produce weather, you must turn it "on" first. There is a button that will turn it on, along with levers that can be switched on/off to change weather inside the globe and temperature of the globe. This globe also contains a wooden cabin.

    Cloud Village

A village just like any other, except it is made of cloud. Residents here have white wings on their backs, enabling them to fly. The village has more beds than a usual village does, and trees do not generate here. Structures like a Cloud Temple may be seen here.

    Cloud Temple

Here, you can walk into the middle of a majestic pillared hallway. There is a grand fountain, where if you toss an emerald into it, it will increase your luck temporarily by giving you a lucky status effect. Beware, as it may reject and curse you with a random bad effect like Wither or even Bad Omen!

    Fairy Grove

This is a small park that sits inside every Cloud Village and has fairies flying around it. Fairies can be great companions, and can resurrect pets when they have died, which also causes a name tag to drop with the pets name. Fairies can be bottled and let out at any time, and when let out, they will fly around and follow you increasing friendship with the fairy. It also looks cute too.

    Mobs

There are all sorts of new mobs to find out in this dimension. Here they are!

    Exploding Present

Exploding Presents are presents that bounce around similar, but higher to slimes and have a ribbon on top. When they get close to the player, they explode, releasing confetti particles and a few paper items as a side effect of the wrapping tearing apart. This also damages the opponent a little for half a heart. This mob can also be created by surrounding a crafting grid with paper, and an item in the middle. When this mob explodes, the item inside it will also be released. Crafting it with TNT will make for one explosive present! KABOOM!!

    Fairy

This cute little mob is so small you can bottle it and take it everywhere you go. It initially starts out with a base friendship of just 0, and may wander off on its own, as it's not used to you. However, if you walk with said fairy (best to use a leash), it will gradually become more friendly for every, let's say, 50 or 100 steps you take in the game. The fairy will start following the player at a friendship level of 10, and later at 30, start to trust the player more by attacking any hostile mob with magic should any mob attack it This is very weak magic however. At friendship level 50, the fairy may play with you, zapping you harmlessly with its wand at times. Attack magic will get stronger. At friendship level 75, the fairy will defend you from hostile mobs, and be medium in attack power and follow the player as if it was a shadow. At friendship level 100, the friendship is maxed, and the fairy may also resurrect any pet that has died of your choosing. Fairies cannot resurrect a fallen player. Friendship is not reset upon death. Right clicking a fairy will "tickle" it, and this causes friendship to go up by a few points. Rotating the view simulates a stroke, like you'd do on a cat. Fairies have personalities, some can be quick-tempered and become hostile upon hitting/or having water poured on them, some are calm and will not get angry, others are friendly, others are timid. Quick-tempered fairies emit campfire smoke particles with embers and have a flame-shaped wand tip, calm fairies simply have a flower tip on their wands and glittery particles, friendly fairies have a heart shaped wand tip, and have pale yellow glittering particles, timid fairies have a ghost shaped wand, and will have white particles emitting from them. All fairies emit a light level of 3-4, but the quick-tempered fairy will emit a light of 15, and the timid fairy will emit a negative light level of -15, making it an anti-light fairy, which is also really fast.

    Elf

This cute little human-like creature is dressed in red and green, and can trade with the player for unique food like candy canes and other festive foods and blocks. This mob is normally friendly, but break his cauldron pot of gold, and he will throw you coal and his trades will give you nothing but coal. This also applies to when you hurt him. You will also have any item currently in your hand turned to coal. Be nice!

    Cloud Villager

This is just like a normal villager, except flying, and is immune to fall damage. You can trade with them for the same items villagers have outside the dream dimension.

    Gingerbread Man

A small human-like thing made of cookies that are normally baked in the oven. This mob is passive, and carries a candy cane, but will not attack. Killing the gingerbread man drops 1-2 cookies, which 3 of them can be used to create a gingerbread man by using 3 item frames in a vertical row.

    Blocks

This new dimension has a lot of new blocks. Here!

    Cloud Block

The basic stuff that comprises the dimensions terrain. Is fuzzy and fluffy in appearance and comes in all 16 colours. If you waterlog this block, the block will rain the water downwards. Can be mined with any tool and the hand. If you place snow above it, the block will produce snowflakes which start making top snow below. If you place dark grey or black cloud blocks, it will produce thunder and lightning intermittently (once every 7 minutes). Use brown cloud blocks if you would like your rain to be acidic and damage mobs below. Bonus: Put any kind of ice below, and bang! Tiny little hailstones will fall. These will not damage or destroy anything.

    Candy Floss

A pink sugary block that generates only in this dimension. It generates sparsely, but can be crafted for 8 sugar and 1 pink dye. Restores 1 drumsticks of hunger (it isn't very filling anyway).

    Candy Cane Block

Also known as the Lolly Block, this red and white block again restores just 0.5 drumsticks of hunger. You can however, cure debuffs with this block by eating it. This block is crafted from 2 sugar and one red dye and one white dye.

    Rainbow Block

An aesthetic block that cannot be crafted due to the the fact that the crafting slots in the 3x3 crafting grids are not enough for 16 dyes. They can however, be used for decoration in Creative Mode, and come in many texture variations like stars, flowers, creepers, and polka dots.

    Stethoscope

    Posted: 26 Nov 2019 01:17 PM PST

Simple idea for a new item in "Minecraft" the Stethoscope. The stethoscope when used can allow you to see how much health a mob actually has. Though probably rather pointless to try and use on a enemy mob; due to them attacking you, this would help you care for your villagers, golems, tames and other friendly mobs.

Unlike many of the useful items in the game I don't think that this item should degrade through it's use, since real stethoscopes don't degrade and I don't think the item would break the game. I think the recipe should use some Iron Nuggets and String.

    Real Survival mode

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 10:01 PM PST

    When I say real, I mean a Minecraft mode really based on survival (working on name for it) that would be outside of regular survival mode;

-Food in nature (berry's, melons, etc...) will be more scares so you would need to salvage more often to survive

-animals will be tougher to kill and better AI so they can flee more efficiently, so instead of just running up and hitting them a few times you need to really hunt them down, would also allow for more tactical use of bows and crossbows (maybe a way to sneak up better or use camo or hiding behind trees, something like that)

-certain foods go bad (meats for most part)

-in snowy environments being out in snow too long can deal damage (without proper gear, too little armor)

-being in desert or badlands can cause damage due to heat (without proper gear; water, minimum armor (giving too much heavy armor a downside))

-some kind of tweak to hostile mobs, fighting common mobs (zombies, skeletons, spiders, etc...) just seems like just swinging as fast as you can and too easy even when first starting a game, some kind of tweak to mods would allow for them to be an actual threat (exp; better AI, more damage, more health, just ideas)

-need to hydrate (I know this has been brought up a lot but I feel like it would fit in this game mode)

These are just a couple things I can think of. I feel like an actual, separate, true survival game mode though would allow for a whole different game style to a game that was intended to be a survival game, without messing with how great Minecraft is now
