Wandering traders should only spawn with sky access Posted: 12 Jan 2020 12:04 PM PST It's more than a little absurd to encounter a wandering trader in my branch mine at lava level, or even inside my own home. It seems really easy to fix, too - just say they can only spawn under the open sky. Or perhaps only on the same blocks players can spawn on. Or both. Until then, I hope they realize that I have implemented the death penalty for trespassing. ;) It's on the clearly marked sign, guys, can't you read? [link] [comments] |
The Ender Dragon and Withers should have death messages in chat Posted: 11 Jan 2020 09:57 PM PST I'm currently playing on an anarchy server and one of the major problems is that nobody wants to kill Withers or the Ender Dragon because you don't get credit for it. Since the Ender Dragon and the Wither are both bosses, it makes sense that they should have their own death messages in chat when killed. For example: Player 1 has slain the Ender Dragon using Bow. Player 2 has slain a Wither using Diamond Sword. Adding in death messages for Minecraft bosses would enable players to take credit for killing them in a multiplayer setting. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Jan 2020 07:06 AM PST Svamps would be peaceful mobs found in Mushroom and Dark Oak Biomes. They're only a single block tall, and occassionally cause mushrooms to spawn around them wherever they walk. These include red, brown, and a new blue mushroom, which acts as a light source amd glows im the dark. Normal mushrooms do glow, but barely. The main purpose of Svamps, though, is that upon feeding them certain items, they will cause a lingering effect around them based on what you fed them. For example, sugar gives swiftness. Glistering melon gives healing. Golden carrot gives night vision, etc. If given milk, the effect will be cleared, and they will stop giving off the lingering effect. They would be an easy way to get potion and beacon effects early, without going to the nether for them, on the downside that they are rather rare, and the effect is tied to the Svamps. Ender dragon and Wither custom Posted: 12 Jan 2020 09:00 AM PST Base idea by u/lemonny3663 The ender dragon and the Wither are clearly special mobs, and as such, they not only deserve death messages to let players take pride in slaying them in multiplayer servers, but also should have special death messages in my opinion. This could also be a good opportunity to make some interesting worldbuilding. I'm thinking things like: "HexSay failed the Wither ritual" "HexSay challenged the lord of the end" Furthermore, if the dragon pushes the player off the island, you could put "HexSay lost his/her/their <item_in_main_hand> in the end". So if your main hand has a diamond sword, you could say "HexSay lost his diamond sword in the end" as a way of saying "HexSay got yeeted to the void with his gear" xD [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Jan 2020 11:33 AM PST I've wanted a more red looking plank/log, unlike acacia trees orange, so I thought of this! Cedar trees would spawn in all biomes spruce trees do, and also in Roofed Forests. Cedar trees would be able to turn into planks, stairs, slabs, fences, etc. and provide a more red hue. On top of being a new wood, cedar is also known for its scent. Cedar could be crafted into a candle and would ward off hostile mobs. Mobs would not could within a 10 block radius of the candle, unless there is a wall or other obstacle in the way. Mobs would still chase players into this radius as well. This could be useful for guiding mobs in mob farms, or just protecting your base! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Jan 2020 10:27 AM PST Maybe you would have to add the clock with the daylight detector in a new crafting recipe or in the current daylight detector crafting recipe. When placed and right clicked, the new daylight detector would have an interface where we could chose the exact time it is triggered. I would see it as the clock texture with two left and right arrows to adjust the time. When the arrows are clicked you would see the clock scrolling through day and night (as it does currently when the clock is in your hand). This update could make the clock a more usefull item than it is right now. Hope you like the idea ! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Jan 2020 10:12 AM PST Pretty self explanatory. I think it'd be neat if mobs could have different textures. We already have this in sheep/parrots and their wild wool/feather colors, so why not in different mobs? Zombies, for example. The base zombie is fine, but boring. What if there were zombies without a shirt, so you could see all their rotting guts? There's more than one kind of cow in the world. Black and white cows, or maybe cows with stubby horns of some kind. Just some simple mob variation to add more variety to the game. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Jan 2020 03:32 AM PST Marble is a new type of rock like granite, andesite, and diorite. Unlike those three, marbles have some use. Marbles can be found in a cave at any level, and they have amazing properties. They must be mined with an iron pickaxe or better, but is found in small veins. The amazing properties are while they are mined at the same speed as stone, they can sustain 3 explosions as strong as a creeper or TNT at a point-blank range, and they can't be blasted with a ghast fireball or a black wither skull. They can, however, only sustain two blasts from a charged creeper or an end crystal, and a single blast of a wither explosion (when spawning). They can be destroyed immediately using a blue wither skull. They can be used as a cheap way to make a build blast-resistant for a short period, as they occur more often than obsidian and very easy to mine. They can be smelted in a furnace, creating polished marbles that can be used as a floor decoration (not accurate, I can't seem to find another idea on how to polish it that exists in Minecraft). Posted: 12 Jan 2020 02:27 PM PST If you put 9 flint into a crafting table you should get a block of flint, or as I like to call it "flint stone" it will be a shiny solid black block to replace black terracotta and black concrete. It will also add another use to gravel [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Jan 2020 12:32 PM PST They could be used as a melee weapon (dealing a little less damage than sword counterparts, depending on material); or they could be drawn back quickly not unlike a trident. When released, they would probably not go as far as an arrow or trident. A cross would also appear indicating direction, like when drawing back like any other long range weapon. If hitting a mob or another player, it should probably deal more damage than an arrow. When it does not hit a mob or a player, it will stick into the first solid block it hits, again like other long range weapons, and the player would be able to collect it again. They would also probably disappear when damage is dealt like an arrow. They could be stackable (maybe up to 16?). I don't know of any mobs that could carry them, but maybe some day there will be! Thank you for reading/acknowledging! Any more ideas/questions? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Jan 2020 04:18 AM PST could be exactly the same in design but in red or a new design but is spawns in badlands and mesa`s [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Jan 2020 03:48 PM PST I recently updated my server to 1.15 and I am sad to realize out that bees does not spawn in my world because it was generated in 1.14. Is there a command that can regenerate mobs according to version 1.15 ? If not, that would be my suggestion for a command [link] [comments] |
Stone tools made from stone have higher durability Posted: 12 Jan 2020 08:54 AM PST Stone tools made from cobblestone are ok, but put the cobblestone into a furnace first and the resulting tools would have a durability of around 80. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Jan 2020 12:17 PM PST Akin to bees, but wasps would be smaller and more potent than bees with a large swarm spawning alongside a nest. Instead of only generating with the world like the bee's, the wasp nest would also have a chance of spawning in some radius of the player, which means that it may spawn around the players's base. Why does this matter? A constant loud buzzing comes from the nest, which could effectively annoy the player. The wasps would also sometimes attack passive mobs, killing food/resource sources. Now the player can decide: live with the annoyance or get rid of it. Most will want to get rid of it, which will take some effort, for disturbing the nest in any way will immediately cause the wasps inhabiting it to attack the nearest mob(s) or player(s). Disturbing the nest includes: Breaking it, hitting it with an arrow or other long-range weapons, setting it ablaze etc. Unlike the bee, hitting a single wasp won't send the whole swarm after you though. Since the wasps are smaller, they would be harder to hit, making it more difficult to fend the swarm off. They could be good for one thing, though: a weapon. If the player could somehow place/locate a wasp nest near another player or mob they wish to kill and shoot it from far away, they would swarm whatever is near them. I'd live to hear thoughts/ideas in the comments. Thanks for reading! [link] [comments] |
Option to use GPU instead of CPU Posted: 11 Jan 2020 11:00 PM PST Minecraft runs better with most GPUs and I'm wondering if there could be simple option in the launcher to use it to run Minecraft instead of CPU. As making Minecraft run using a GPU is kind of complicated to do right now, especially if you have a laptop or a AMD GPU. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Jan 2020 09:16 PM PST Glass with various beautiful textures on them like frosted glass. [link] [comments] |
If shovel is on your off hand throw snowballs farther. Posted: 11 Jan 2020 04:06 PM PST Basically the title, it would probably use up some of the shovels durability but seems to make sense to me. [link] [comments] |
Golems need a rework to better protect from pillagers Posted: 11 Jan 2020 04:30 PM PST Iron golems are designed to protect a village, they are entirely useless at their job. In the first wave of every raid, my naturally spawned iron golem gets killed, I have no way to heal him or see how much health he has, I have no way to upgrade or arm him and he is basically useless. This would be okay, but raids are becoming quite frequent and fighting them off is very tiring. I think a nice addition would be some way to upgrade, heal and position golems so they can actually protect your village. Snow golems could also be made useful by building little guard posts for them where they can attack pillagers at range maybe, but that is an after thought. I hope this makes sense, I think golems need a bit of filling out now villages actually require protection. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Jan 2020 08:40 AM PST If you travel you may rarely find a random structure of endstone bricksand 2 shulkers, maybe they will be in the 200 block radius of the Strongehold so they can hint you about it's existance... I don't think the look/name will be the same as in the picture/title but I think something like this will make players able to have the end in the overworld [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Jan 2020 07:18 PM PST Suggestion for Minecraft: Utilize the beacons mechanics and make it so that after the 4 layers, you can still keep adding layers and every doubling of layer after 4 layers, gives more beacon effect range (in all directions) and also give higher effect of a specific potion. I.e 6 layers of say, iron blocks, will give more range and effect level, like making Speed III instead of II, and range from beacon 60 instead of 50. But, it wouldn't be too overpowered, as every time you want the next effect and range upgrade, it takes an exponent of 2 plus 4. (The starting layers). Meaning that to get speed III you need: 2 times 1 (1 is the number of beacon level upgrades above 4) plus 4 = 6. For speed IV, you'd need: 2 times 2 plus 4 = 8. And so on. What do you think? Posted: 11 Jan 2020 05:18 PM PST Currently, I see there's a mod for nearby voice chat. Gliby's Voice Chat Reloaded allows you to do this. But it requires all players must have this mod installed for their clients, so the game clients can receive the broadcasted voice clips for playback. I may be wrong on this. I would like to suggest this as a native feature in Minecraft. I think it will enhance gameplay and be used as an assistive technology. It's not suggested in the list of feature requests Thoughts?9 [link] [comments] |
