If you name a wandering trader, you'll have a chance to see him again someday Posted: 25 Apr 2020 04:34 AM PDT I've always liked the idea that wandering traders have variable routes throughout a minecraft world, and frequently return to the same places. Since wandering traders spawn based off of specific players, it's possible to give each player a list of traders they know, and have those traders spawn near them again. If you name a wandering trader with a nametag, that name is added to a list stored with your player data. The list can be up to five names long. Whenever you generate a trader spawn event, the game checks your list and has a chance to pick a name from your list for the new wandering trader, making it seem like the same wanderer has returned after traveling through different biomes. The chance is 1/10 per name, so if you know five traders, you have a fifty percent chance of meeting one of them. If you rename a wandering trader, the game checks for its previous name in your list and overwrites it with the new name. If you attack a wandering trader or one of its llamas, its name is removed from your list and it will not return :( There! Now you can get to know the intrepid adventurers who deliver you flora from other lands. Enjoy. Edit: u/shiverdog99 suggests that the llama colors are stored along with the name, so that the traders will always have the same llama companions with them. Edit: u/X_The_D&D_Memes_X (and others) asked for a way for traders to remember the trades you like and bring those items again the next time they meet you. I think the best way to do this is to store the items you purchase along with the other data and have higher chances to get those items again. Each item could have a weight, which is effected by how much of it you purchase, and which effects how likely the trader is to return with more. u/Itz_yaboiaz (and others) suggested that the trader comes back with more trades and better deals the more you trade with them. I think this is a simpler alternative to the above suggestion - storing an xp value is easier than a bunch of different item names and frequencies. Wandering traders who you buy from will gain xp, but unless you name them you'll never see that same trader again, and the xp will be lost. If they do level up, however, they'll have more purchase options and better deals the next time you meet. [link] [comments] |

Gamerule noPearlDamage. Disables damage taken after teleporting using an enderpearl. Posted: 24 Apr 2020 06:31 PM PDT Pretty self-explanatory and a really simple addition I think! E: just to clarify, I'm talking about the fall damage you take due to throwing a pearl. Also, this gamerule would obviously be set to false by default. [link] [comments] |
Make Gravel Plains their own biome Posted: 25 Apr 2020 08:56 AM PDT In the Nether, long fields, plains, and beaches of nothing but gravel can spawn. These are simply nether wastes, while they should be unique. I suggest Gravel Plains is it's own biome similar to a mountain biome or if you drained an ocean, nothing but gravel. The floor is gravel, the walls are gravel, while columns and the roof is made of Hardened Gravel (obtained by smelting gravel or having it touch lava; resembles a smoother and cubic version of gravel texture; doesn't fall from gravity). In the Gravel Plains, you get endermen, striders, and skeletons spawning. You also have a rare chance for a wither skeleton to spawn. Occasionally, concrete powder can generate in small patches here (red, grey, light grey, white, black, yellow, and orange only) like a Mesa with stained clay. Ghasts can spawn here, but less often than nether wastes. Occasionally you'll find patches of obsidian, soul sand, coal blocks, hardened gravel, blackstone, concrete (red, grey, light grey, white, black, yellow, and orange only) and gilded blackstone underground in the Gravel Plains. The Overworld and The End needs updating after 1.16 Posted: 25 Apr 2020 08:22 AM PDT I wanna bring up something i've been thinking about the 1.16 update not only is it the best update ever released, it's actually so good that other features feel outdated. Ill exxplain a little bit better. So this update has added many things that needs updating in other areas of the game. For example the sounds that diffrent blocks make when placed has been added. Or that the fact that there is now three types of gold ores in minecraft two of them being in the nether. these things now needs to be updated in the Overworld and the End. My suggestions are as follows. More types of ores: The same ores in diffrent stone types, so every ore should be able to spawn in granite, diorite and andesite. More vegitation: This is a minor one but i think the nether has alot of diffrent vegitation for example the warped forest and the crimson forest doesn't have the same grass and vegitation. So more diffrent vegitation depending on diffrent biome. Block Sounds: The nether update added an intresting update to sounds which i love. When you place and/or step on the netherbricks it makes a bricky sound this sound should be added to the normal bricks aswell as the bigger bricks like the stone bricks. I also think that more blocks could have more diffrent sounds when placed like the gem blocks could have a clinging sound when placed. There are basically only 3 diffrent sounds that each new block categorize in to. wood, stone and grass. So i think that diffrent types of stone wood and grass blocks should have unique sounds. Ambient Sounds: Only caves have this feature in the overworld, In the nether though diffrent biomes have diffrent ambient sounds. I think diffrent biomes in the over world should have unique ambient sounds, like the jungle could have a typical jungle sound with monkeys and birds snakes and crawling spiders. ore the snowy biomes could have a could windy sound. The savanna could have a cricket sound. Block types: more bricks, chisled and polished versions for the diffrent stones in the game like granite, diorite and andesite. Also the fact that the big mushrooms should have its own wood type, a white wood. This wood would not only make the mushroom islands more interesting but also opening up a new possibility for builders. I think if these things were added the exploration of minecraft would be a lot more fun as exploring in the nether has been alot of fun. [link] [comments] |
Sugarcanes should be affected by bonemeal. Posted: 25 Apr 2020 12:07 PM PDT Bonemeal would be an amazing way to farm sugarcane without 0-tick farms. When I discovered I couldn't just quickly bonemeal sugarcane, I was disappointed. Hopefully this makes sense to the rest of you. EDIT: Also make cactus bonemeal-able. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Apr 2020 02:32 AM PDT Soulfire items should work underwater and be waterloggable, this happens in real life with magnesium flames that make light underwater. This way you have another option for underwater lighting. Edit: You can vote for it here: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360061683191-Soulfire-items-work-underwater [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Apr 2020 08:19 AM PDT There's tons of wood types in minecraft but only one type of ladder, which won't always fit with your builds. Almost all other wooden objects have variants for each type of wood, so why not ladders? If you're building something with the warped wood, it be awesome to have a warped wood ladder that'd fit right into the build, instead of a normal ladder that takes out some of the immersion. I know that the first though is that you'd need stick variants to have ladder variants, but what if you could just add a block of the type of wood you'd like the ladder to be, like this, then stick variants won't be needed. Posted: 25 Apr 2020 11:52 AM PDT How about this: when you attack a Mooshroom, all other mooshrooms in the area run away from you, using the same rules as the old zombie pigmen. This reflects what fungi do within the plant kingdom, carry messages to other plants. And if you shear a mooshroom and then hit the cow, this wouldn't work because the cow is no longer connected. And if you hit a mooshroom and there's a cow in the area, the cow won't run away because it doesn't have the mushroom trait. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |

Hay bales as a fuel source for furnaces Posted: 25 Apr 2020 12:39 PM PDT All the blocks and items that have been able to be used as a fule sourc in a furnace now it baffles me that hay bales can't. [link] [comments] |
If you kill a big Slime with a silk touch item it will drop a Slime block and won’t spawn more Posted: 25 Apr 2020 11:32 AM PDT This would be a neat little feature doesn't really seem needed but it's nice, I guess. [link] [comments] |
Striders make face expressions Posted: 25 Apr 2020 09:33 AM PDT It's similar to how they become cold on land. Have them frown when they are cold. They are neutral when on lava. They smile when the player is holding a warped fungus or a warped fungus on a stick. It's a small change but it will add depth to the strider and I would love to see it added to the game. Posted: 25 Apr 2020 03:10 PM PDT (Not sure if this goes in Sounds or Blocks) So, how does it work? You craft a blank disc like a slab of dried kelp (suggestions for crafting recipes?), you then place down the microphone, put the blank disc in the microphone, then power it with a redstone source, the longer its powered, the longer the disc is. When its powered and it has a blank disc, any nearby sounds get recorded onto the disc, with a radius of 50 blocks. Each of these sounds is recorded like it was next to the microphone, in order to not have horrible fading sounds. Once a song has been recorded, the microphone will play a snippet of the song, to let you know its done. You then open the microphone, a GUI comes up, much like an anvil, instead of enchanted books its dye, to color your disc (The default color is white), and to also name it and sign it, like a book. Im also suggesting a new advancement to go along with this. [link] [comments] |
Spectator Mode & Hardcore Difficulty Posted: 25 Apr 2020 09:17 AM PDT I mean it doesn't sound crazy adding these two simple things in the Bedrock edition of the game in the next update (1.16), so much time has passed and we still don't have such a simple gamemode like spectator mode, let me know what you think : ) .
