Saplings planted on sand should turn into dead bushes after a while Posted: 16 Apr 2020 10:31 AM PDT This could open up the possibility of dedicated stick farming, and make dead bushes renewable. [link] [comments]
We should be able to favourite singleplayer worlds Posted: 16 Apr 2020 12:48 AM PDT These favourited worlds would appear at the top of the list, and have a little star next to their name. Edit: u/eszynka proposed taht you can't delete a favourited world without unfavouriting it. [link] [comments]
Bastion chests should contain smite books Posted: 16 Apr 2020 06:18 AM PDT Piglins' biggest enemy are wither skeletons. Piglins also seem like they are quite inteligent and know some tricks. Whats the worst weakness of wither skeletons? Smite. Smite books should be found in general bastion chests in levels of 2-4 and there should also be a chance that a golden sword is enchanted with smite 2-5. [link] [comments]
Cook Honey Blocks into Amber Blocks Posted: 16 Apr 2020 09:26 AM PDT This is a small addition. Nothing crazy. Amber Blocks would be nothing but a decorative Building block. You get this block by cooking Honey Blocks in a furnace or Smoker. Its color would match well with normal Lanterns and Fire. This means We can have Amber Blocks to match the color of regular flames, and Diamond Blocks to match Soul Fire light sources. More soul fire parody for your builds! Chiseled Amber Blocks will have the image of a bee chiseled in all sides. For lots of people when they think of Amber imagine some insect fossilized inside. With no easy way to recreate that effect in the vanilla game, I thought this would be a good compromise. Chiseled Amber Blocks would not be crafted using slab other chiseled blocks. it would be crafted by placing one Amber Block in the crafting table. If you want this in the vanilla game please vote for it on the Feedback Website. [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Apr 2020 11:51 AM PDT The new respawn anchor sound resembles shattering glass but is much more mystical and melodic than the current "crash" that sounds when a nether portal breaks. Also Xisumavoid pointed out in a recent video that the sound of a portal breaking gets reaaaally loud for large portals, because it's played for each individual portal block. This should be fixed, with the sound only playing once. [link] [comments]
All structures in the Nether should have a higher chance of containing fire-related enchants. Posted: 16 Apr 2020 08:36 AM PDT Since the Nether has a hell/fire theme to it, I think it makes perfect sense to increase the chance of finding tools, armour and enchanted books with fire-related enchants (Fire Protection, Flame, Fire Aspect) in all Nether structures. Replace the ocean monument treasure. Posted: 16 Apr 2020 08:32 AM PDT Since the addition of bastion remnants, ocean monument gold has been made obsolete, and bastions usually have 10-21 gold blocks hidden inside them, as well as additional gold inside the chests. The ocean monument treasure could be replaced with 4 diamond blocks and 4 gold, as to not make monument treasure obsolete. [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Apr 2020 09:46 AM PDT This would give cartographers more uses and doesnt have a big effect on the game. What do you think? [link] [comments]
The Island Update - Crabs, Coconuts and More! Posted: 16 Apr 2020 09:32 AM PDT Here's my idea for features that I believe could make up an awesome excellent and expansive addition to Minecraft. Islands - Yes, islands do already exist in Minecraft but this would be an entirely new set of island biomes including; 1. Dessert Islands - Traditional sandy island, the type you might picture in your head when you think of a deserted or uninhabited island. 2. Tropical/Jungle Islands - Islands containing a tropical jungle like biome. 3. Archipelagos - Clusters of small islands, mainly consisting of the aforementioned dessert islands but sometimes also containing jungle islands. 4. Treasure Islands - These are again similar to desert islands but contain buried treasure and sometimes have shipwrecks naturally spawning in close proximity to them or even on their shores. These islands are rare and have a chance of only one spawning in an archipelago. Now to go into more specific additions pertaining to these islands. Such as new mobs, blocks, etc. ——————————— Mobs: Crabs - Crabs are small red mobs, they are passive unless agitated or unless you come in close proximity to a group of three or more crabs. Crabs can be killed for crab meat which can be eaten raw or cooked or can be crafted into a bisque using the traditional soup crafting recipe but including a bucket of milk as well as crab meat. Crabs could also drop crab claws although I can't currently think of what these might be used for. Sharks - Sharks spawn more commonly in the water near islands but can also spawn in coral reefs, they are naturally aggressive towards fish and other sea life (including guardians). Sharks are not naturally attracted to the player but are attracted to blood, they will hunt you but only if your health is not at full or you are currently holding some sort of raw meat in your hand. Sharks can drop shark teeth which can be used as an alternative to flint for arrow tips during crafting and can also drop shark fins which can be traded with castaways as a high value item similar to villagers with emeralds. Castaways - Castaways are a new sort of villager that has a chance to spawn only on desert islands, they will consider shark fins to be high value items for trading and also have a unique skin portraying a villager with tattered clothing. Islands containing castaways have a chance of also spawning with dessert shelters on them which are makeshift houses used and built by the castaways. If you manage to transport a castaway back to a mainland village their texture will return to that of a normal villager and you will be rewarded with emeralds. Seagulls - Seagulls are a new flying mob that will primarily hang around islands. They drop feathers and will also attempt to collect food items of places on the ground. I'd killed a seagull will also drop any food it has collected. Tropical Fish - New fish variants that spawn around islands, mostly near jungle islands. —————————- Blocks: Palm Trees - Palm trees are already to be added to the game in the future, they will spawn on both desert and treasure islands. They will also sometimes contain coconuts which hang from them similarly to cocoa beans. Treasure chests - A new more decorative chest variant which can only be found buried on treasure islands (perhaps "X marks the spot"). White sand - a new sand variant that can sometimes be found on island shores and beaches. Sails - Made by crafting a boat together with a banner, increases the boats speed to 130% and could be used a new way to display banner designs while Traveling. —————————- Food: Crab meat - See above. Bisque - See above. Coconuts - Spawn on palm trees, can be right clicked with a bottle to collect coconut milk which acts similarly to regular milk but recovers less hunger. Tropical Fruit - A variety of new tropical fruit/fruit trees can spawn on jungle islands including things such as pineapples. ————————- Items: Shark Teeth - See above. Shark Fins - See above. Crab Claws - Taking suggestions on this one. Nets - Crafted using string, when placed in water will accumulate fish overtime. Island Treasure Maps - Can now be found in shipwrecks, lead to treasure islands and specify the general digging location with an 'X'. Potion of Repellent - Repels sharks and other mobs that aren't always naturally aggressive (llamas, wolfs, crabs, bees, etc) the potions effects are rendered irrelevant however if you go out of your way to attack one of these mobs while under its effect. Island Tracks - See below. Sea Shells - can be used for decoration, spawn on beaches and can also be traded to castaways but are lower value than shark fins. ———————- Features: Sails - See above. Docking Boats - Boats can now be docked using leads. Island Dungeons - Sometimes treasure islands will spawn with underground dungeons protecting their treasure. Castaway Reuniting - Castaways reward you if returned to a mainland village. Island Shelters - See above. Nets - When stepped on/through have a slowing effect similar to spiderwebs. Turtle Change - Turtles are now found primarily near islands. ———————— Ambient: Ripples - Water now ripples when interacted with (jumped in, swam/boated through, has item thrown into it) Island Tracks - New 'tropical' sounding audio tracks that can be found in treasure chests and in island shelters. —————————— That's all I've got for now. Be sure to post your opinions and your own additional suggestions :) Thanks Edit: Sharks should not drop fins, instead nautilus shells will be considered high value items by castaways [link] [comments]

We can see where pigs ears are headed, so how about just update them now? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 10:21 AM PDT If you've played the new Nether Update then you'll know that the inside of the Piglins ears which is under the flappy ears is the exact same shape and "ear" used on the normal pigs, but if you don't know you can see it in this image. So we can see where this is headed, and instead of waiting abunch of updates for the pig or even 3 other animals to get 3D/flappy ears why can't we just do it now? The ears seem casually easy especially since it would be added on to already existing animals, and it's a low amount of animals so I personally just can't see a reason to hesitate on a cool change like this.. Posted: 16 Apr 2020 07:56 AM PDT I don't think this is a bug, I don't know though. They currently kill the offending piglin, then go after you. They shouldn't work that way. Additionally, zombie piglins should become neutral again once they kill you. [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Apr 2020 07:54 AM PDT " Nether is now liveable but all pets there tend to die because of the lava. Pets make the game more interesting and lovely, and it is good to have a friend in the harsh environment of nether. Salamander would be a new pet mob that could be tamed using magma creams. Found in basalt deltas, they would rarely spawn as individuals and would hunt the medium and small sized magma cubes. If no magma cube is around, they would like to sleep on magma blocks (like foxes). They would essentially be like wolves, neutral but will attack when you hit them and when tamed they would attack any mob they you attack (plus magma cubes on their own). Their special feature would be that they are fire resistant and can swim in lava (similarly to marine iguana) which would make them suitable for the harsh nether environment. When in over world, their colouring will be more dull, they will be slow and un-taim themselves. They will not attack anything but will try to stay away from all mobs (like lizards that did not heat up) and water or rain will kill them. " The text above is what I put on feedback page (waiting for approval). I picked Salamanders because of their mythical or fantasy relationship to fire, essentially being like small dragons but also because in their looks they look like a lizard and thus could (for game purposes) have a similar behaviour where they like too sunbathe (heat up) to speed up a bit whist when cold they get slower. Posted: 16 Apr 2020 10:26 AM PDT I love that the Pigstep record has the nether color scheme, it's a great touch! But I'm struggling to imagine what the disk could be *made of*. I'd suggest turning it into a golden record with a reddish center instead of a netherrack(?) record with a golden center. In the real world, the Voyager spacecrafts held golden records for the off chance that an alien civilization would discover the probe. Gold is soft and malleable enough to form a record out of, and we know Piglins love the stuff. Also the Pigstep soundtrack is a banger. [link] [comments]
Gravel in the nether should be more reddish to fit the theme Posted: 16 Apr 2020 12:24 PM PDT I know that the layers of gravel in the Nether are there for a reason but i think its way too out of place and i thought that it would be cool if they actually looked like their environment and wont stand out that much [link] [comments]

The Buckler: A Golden Shield for the Nether Posted: 15 Apr 2020 07:12 PM PDT The Shield is an incredibly useful item. However, given that there is no source of iron in the Nether, you have to loot a fortress to get one. The Nether already has gotten many improvements to make it livable. Adding a gold-based shield, the Buckler, would be another step in that direction. Name"Buckler" is a real-world name for "A small, round shield either carried or worn on the arm." Crafting
LooksThe Buckler is shaped like a square instead of a rectangle, with a golden outline. StatsLike all gold tools, the Buckler would have lousy durability. Given that it is smaller in size, it would also block less area. The Shield blocks about 180° in front of the player, so the Buckler could block only 120°. To give the Buckler a unique use, perhaps they could make projectiles that hit them ricochet farther than Shields do. This would be a fun mechanic to play around with, allowing you to kill a skeleton with their own arrow from quite a distance. EDIT: u/Miketar85 Suggested that Bucklers could block fire, making them more useful in the Nether. EDIT: u/Torbait Suggested that Bucklers could hit fireballs back, which makes sense given their ricochet ability. EDIT: u/PJDemigod85 Suggested that "bashing" (right-clicking) Bucklers at the right moment could make incoming projectiles ricochet even farther and more accurately. MobsOne good use for the Buckler is allowing Piglins too use them. Finally, the axe's stun ability will be useful in survival! Bucklers could also be found in Bastions with useful enchantments. Overall, I think adding shields would make Nether playthroughs much more enjoyable, while also adding a unique weapon that is fun to use. EDIT: Made crafting grid look nicer EDIT: Feedback link (waiting for approval) https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360061392471-The-Buckler-A-Golden-Shield-for-the-Nether EDIT: I am aware that iron is obtainable in the nether from fortresses and Piglin bartering. However, given that the Shield is quite an early-game item, people who start in the Nether should get access to it before that. And because the Buckler has unique uses and is more suited for the Nether, it is a good option for even normal survival players. [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:06 PM PDT piglins get stuck easily, so in many cases they are not a big threat. bastions are piglin's home, and they're full of lava. they even have lava pools and falls. but piglins die in the lava. netherite armor as a loot is a bit too op, but a netherite scrap is okay. last week they added the home of magma cubes, but now you can find a spawner in a certain type of bastions. so i think that, there should be more piglins (ex: a group of five near every chest) and maybe they should see you from farther away. they should be immune to fire damage and personally i would remove magmacube spawner and replace it with something else (open to suggestions) maybe a new hostile mob ? like a beast (hellhound or something like that) tamed got used to live with piglins. Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:36 PM PDT The Warped Forest by itself is a fairly boring biome. Unlike the other biomes with their variety of special blocks, mobs, structures, etc the Warped Forest doesn't offer as much and seems bland contrast. Sure, there's warped versions of the crimson blocks and plants but something still seems missing to keep it interesting. I think we should add a structure of some sort. Now it doesn't have to be exactly like this but I think it's a good example of what could be. My idea of this structure is something I call the Warped City. It's has a similar build to the End Cities however it would be smaller since there isn't as much room in the Nether. It's also a mid-game structure as well, so the loot would definitely be lesser than that of a regular End City. It should, of course, take advantage of all the new blocks being add to the Nether like the various warped blocks, basalt, the new lanterns, etc. I feel like this would bring some excitement and purpose into the Warped Forests. We would have more reason to explore this biome than just for blocks and ender pearls. Here's some examples what I think it could look like: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th. [link] [comments]
Warped Ravens: A way to track down those pesky fortresses Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:55 PM PDT Easily the biggest slog in Minecraft is tracking down a fortress in the Nether. It usually devolves into you aimlessly wandering the Nether's treacherous landscape for hundreds or even thousands of blocks hoping you stumble across one, and if you ever wanna brew potions or get to The End, you have to find one. Another problem those in the Nether may face is that there is no reliable source of feathers, and in turn arrows, which makes certain mobs an absolute nightmare to fight (Looking at you, Ghasts). A new mob could kill two birds with one stone, the Warped Raven. They would spawn in warped forests, in groups of 1-2. Warped Ravens are slightly smaller than parrots, and have black and blue feathers, with the large, soulless eyes of the Mooshroom. They are passive mobs and if you feed the Warped Raven Crimson or Warped Roots, they will sit on your head and lead you to a structure depending on what you fed them. Feeding them Crimson Roots will have the raven lead you to the nearest Bastion Remnants, and feeding them Warped Roots will lead you to the nearest Fortress. To find the structure, you need to play a game of Hot and Cold with the Warped Raven. It will chirp happily if you are getting closer to the structure, and will angrily squawk at you if you are getting further away. They will also peck at you for half a heart of damage if you're going the wrong way long enough. Once you reach the structure, it will go off your head and fly away to the nearest Warped Forest. They can also be bred with Nether Sprouts and will drop 0-2 feathers on death. [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Apr 2020 06:34 AM PDT Before someone asks: The weapon a mob uses DOESN'T affects their damage(except Drowneds in Bedrock Edition). We don't have many mobs that wield Axes currently, and making some Piglins spawn with them would add more variety and difficulty for Bastions and the Nether as a whole since Axes have the ability to deactivate shields for a certain time! To balance things: •Priority of Axes is lower than the Swords and Crossbow ones to make sure that not to many of them spawn with Axes. •Their attack speed is slower when equipped with axes. Don't worry: •They won't attack you anyways if you're equipped with Gold Armor(except if you open a conteiner). •That would add more complexity and make Bastions a little more challenging, which is fine! Bastions have really good loot(even Netherite Stuff), so offering a little more challenge would be fine and would make players take more care when exploring this structure. •Only Vindicators use axes actually so that would make things more interesting and Piglins have less health(8❤️), so that wouldn't be that big of a deal if you're well equipped. Posted: 16 Apr 2020 10:55 AM PDT Jockeys are a rare mob that spawns in few places, and they should spawn more commonly. I suggest: Polar Bears (adult only) now have a chance to spawn with a Stray riding them. Rabbits now have a chance to spawn with a Husk (baby only) riding them. [link] [comments]
How To Make The Goat Mob Interesting Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:07 PM PDT The goat will be coming in the next update after the Nether Update (kinda disappointed mountains are being reworked later) and was a community voted mob. I have some ideas to make the goat more than just a sheep variant on mountains. Behavior: Goats obviously would be found on the soon to be jagged peaks of mountains. They should be able to hop at least 2 blocks high in order to move about the terrain. Goats should also eat grass much like sheep. Goats are neutral mobs and will ram into players off mountains if they're provoked. Eating Mechanic: Goats in real life have powerful stomachs so imagine that if a player dies or drops an item the goat will munch on it. The goat should be able to eat items like wool, leather, wood, and foods. Drops: Goats should be shear-able like sheep and drop wool and mutton. However they should also drop Goat Horn. This item would be a rare drop and can be held by the player. The player can then emit a deep sound. This sound could scare off certain mobs, give a power boost to nearby players, or be an item for fun. [link] [comments]
Nylium should be a vertical orientable block Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:55 PM PDT Since how the nether generates, Warped Nylium and Crimson Nylium should be should have it's ceiling equivalent. This is more suitable for the biomes. Note: It's just the vertical orientation, horizontal ones shouldn't be included This will not ruin the players' building experience and will not annoy them because nobody will place Nylium at the ceiling if they want Netherrack. And the players who do so will get used to it (like me). And since it will never be horizontally oriented, players will have no problem doing the flooring. Mojang did a great job in doing Piglin Bastions, so I'd assume they can do this greatly. criticism is encouraged. [link] [comments]
Striders can’t get their food source Posted: 16 Apr 2020 02:51 PM PDT Striders spawn in lava lakes and so to ride them across the lava you first have to build across the lava to them. To improve this striders should be attracted to placed warped fungus from distances of maybe twenty or thirty blocks. This way you can attract striders to "docks" along the coast. They wouldn't get out of the lave to go to it but if it's on the edge they would get close enough to where you might be able to imagine them eating the fungus. Warped fungus is the what they're attracted to and bred with but it doesn't make sense. Edit: The title should say that it should be easier to get to them [link] [comments] |
