New room in the Woodland Mansion

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 01:35 AM PDT

A NEW BOSS. Im just kidding, Where are Ravagers kept? No seriously, were are they? Mojang probably wants Ravagers to be raid exclusive, and im fine with that however, there should be a new room in the Mansion, just a simple little pin for the Ravager there should be Hay Bale in them aswell and a cauldron. And a chest with some food items in it. And some chains since chains are on the Ravagers, and saddles. (Edit) Wow! Thanks for all the positve feedback!

[BEDROCK] Pausing should stop the game.

Its common sense. When you enter the pause menu in Bedrock, the game stops, just like every other offline singeplayer game.

    New room in End Cities

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 06:53 AM PDT

Ever wonder why Endermen take overworld blocks, or where they take them? I would like to see an "overworld room" have a chance to spawn in End Cities, as a place the Endermen collect and show off the blocks they take. The room would have mostly dirt, sand, stone, and other common overworld blocks, but it would have a chance of containing different ores as well. Not the most useful, mostly a flavour feature, but I think it would add some interest to the End and explain the Endermen's habits.

Lily pads should grow lotus flowers after a while

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 11:48 AM PDT

I don't know if this has been posted before but I would love it if lily pads grew lotus flowers after a while.

Single lily pads will grow lotus flowers in a few days

If four lily pads are placed together, then a big lotus flower will grow in the middle if the lily pads are - placed in a water body that's 3 blocks deep or less - there is sunlight - no one steps on the lily pad for a few days

A baby animal has a high chance to take after one of their parents

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 12:47 PM PDT

It would work for llamas, cats, foxes parrots, horses, donkeys, and mules only. When a baby animal is created, while it can still be random, it has a high chance of being the same variant as one of its parents. If both parents are the same variant, the chances of the baby being that variant are doubled.

Example: If a black cat and a Siamese cat bred, the resulting baby cat has a higher chance of being a black or Siamese cat than any other variant. It can still be a different variant, but it has higher chance of being those two.

Example 2: If two snowy llamas bred, the resulting baby llama has a higher chance of being a snowy llama than any other variant, and the chance of it being snowy are doubled as it can take after one parent but both parents are the same.

Fishing in different biomes should give different loot

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 03:36 PM PDT

I think fishing in different biomes should give some different loot. Fishing in warm oceans can give lots of cod and tropical fish, fishing in cold or frozen oceans can give lots of salmon, fishing in mushroom biomes can give more loot than normal, and fishing in swamps can give more junk. You can fish wherever, just fishing in certain biomes will give an increase of something

    New Underground "gold digger" mob

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 06:18 AM PDT

I was thinking of a new passive/neutral mob that would kind of "scurry" along caves and be attracted to shiny ores (gold, diamond, emerald). It would be able to pick them up like enderman (1 at a time) and would bring it back to a "lair" and place them down there in a pile.

Maybe you could also be able to tame them and they would bring ores back to you (although there'd have to be a limit on how far they could go from you) or maybe they could sense shiny ores up to 2 blocks behind stone and would claw at the stone so you could know to dig there or something. I'm not sure if that would be too op so maybe you would have to keep feeding them diamonds or something to keep them tamed.

For the next update, they need to improve minecarts

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 08:57 AM PDT

They should make furnace minecarts go at least twice as fast, and they should add a minecart coupler. what you do with it is you shift right-click one minecart while holding it and then shift-click the minecart you are attaching it to. you would craft it by placing a lead in the middle and then surrounding it in iron nuggets. These are just a few ideas I came up with while trying to develop a railway that doesn't use any powered rails.

    Continents

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 12:59 PM PDT

In Minecraft typically you just have very random island scattered around in the ocean, but what if you were to control this madness? Maybe there could be a new option in creating a world similar to another game called World Box (its basically overview Minecraft), where you can change the size, shape and biome makeup of the land in your world. You could have Super Continents, small Archipelagos or a desert with two lakes, the possibilities are endless! As one final thing, this could just be slapped on the custom world generation, which would be totally fine. Overall, I think this would be a great addition to the game.

    Cheese

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 01:16 PM PDT

Crafted from 1 milk (perhaps it could be goat milk when goats are added) , 1 brown mushrooms, and 2 sugar. Cheese would provide the player with 2 hunger points (1 meat on the hunger bar) when eaten. In addition, cheese would act as a stackable form of milk as it would get rid of any potion you have. I feel that this aspect isn't that overpowered because it takes quite a lot to craft. Anyways, what do you think? Any ideas to improve this suggestion?

Create new blocks, items, inventory categories and block menus using .json files in data packs

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 10:00 AM PDT

Data packs creators should be able to create new blocks, items and their own category using .json files, that would be stores in the "items", "blocks", "category" and "gui" folders inside the namespace folder in the data pack.

    • For blocks and items:
The .json should contain the id of the block/item, the display name, the model (inside the .json or in a separate file) and/or the texture, the functionality, the sounds it should make when an event is triggered or in a loop, the recipe (stores in the .json or in a separate file), the tab in which it should appear, the menu it should open (optional), etc.

Example for a new item .json:

    { "id":"my_item", "display_name":"Item Name", "textures":{ "layer0":"textures/block_texture" }, "sounds":{ "trigger":[ "minecraft:use_item":{ "sound":"sounds/item_sound" } ] }, "recipes":"recipe/item_recipe"

    }

Example for a new block .json:

    { "id":"my_block", "display_name":"BlockName", "model":"blocks/my_model" "sounds":{ "trigger":[ "minecraft:step":{ "sound":"sounds/step_sound" } ] }, "recipes":"recipe/item_recipe", "events":{ "minecraft:on_right_click"[ "minecraft:open_gui"{ "gui":"gui/my_gui" } ] }

    }

    • For the categories:
The .json should contain the id, the display name and the icon (when using an item or block, could be one created by the data pack).

Example for a new category .json:

    { "id":"my_category", "display_name":"New Category", "icon":{ "item":{ "id":"my_datapack:minecraft.my_item" } } }
    • For menus/guis:
The .json should contain the id, the display name (and position), the texture it is using, if it is a storage of crafting menu, the position of the spaces (and if it accepts only some items and if it is input only, output only or both (no need to specify in this last case)) and, in case of being a crafting menu, if it is a optional crafting (like crafting table) or if it is a time processing crafting (like furnaces, need to specify if it is item dependant or not).

Example for a new menu .json:

    { "id":"new_gui", "display_name":"My Gui", "texture":"textures/gui_texture", "type":"minecraft:crafting"{ "type":"time_processing"[ "time_is_item_dependent":false, "time":60 //in ticks ] }, "tiles":{ "ingredient":[ "pos":(300,300) "only_accepts_some_items":true{ items:[ "id":"minecraft:oak_planks":{}, "id":"minecraft:spruce_planks":{} ] } ], "result":[ "pos":(600,300) "output_only":true ] } }

The examples are a bit messy, but I think they show what I'm suggesting.

    • Why adding it:
Creation of blocks and items would make data packs more diverse and creative, eliminating the need to spawn entities when making todays custom blocks (and, therefore, making it less laggy) and eliminating the need to run long minecraft .mcfunctions to add a simple custom crafting table (like the ones used to make custom items that use dispensers and armor stands), for example.

They are the same as regular chains, but are golden and made from a gold version of the recipe. It can be broken quicker due to gold being a softer metal (1.5x speed). Golden chains also can be used for decoration.

Locally importing skins, texture packs, etc

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 02:30 AM PDT

Bedrock Edition has a serious problem with skins, textures, etc, (besides the obvious glitches that have been going on).

In order to get new skins, textures, maps, etc on Bedrock Edition, you MUST go through the marketplace; A store where creators can sell many different types of items, all in exchange for "minecoins". Why Minecoins? Who knows! Simply put, the Marketplace doesn't work for 2 reasons:

    1. Many of the content creators on the marketplace are producing A1 garbage, all the while asking people to pay ridiculous prices. Although this isn't everyone, it's certainly the majority. Greed and lack of talent are very prevalent on the marketplace.

    2. Becoming a Microsoft partner is your first step into producing content on the marketplace. The only problem is that you have to submit tax forms, which many of you probably don't have. You also have to submit an application and be part of a group to do it, meaning you can't do it alone, according to Microsoft. This is enough to turn away most talented creators, while attracting people that are simply looking for a buck.

This leads to the main topic of this post:

Why can't we just locally import skins, packs, etc from a usb device? There are hundreds, if not thousands, of skins and textures online; Most of them for free, with many of them being made with Bedrock Edition in mind.

Obviously, nobody is going to sell content on the marketplace while also giving it away for free, so it wouldn't affect the marketplace directly; Even if people had ill intent, I don't know if it's possible to access the files of the packs and skins you buy, due to being stored in the cloud. Additionally, if Microsoft is worried about hacking and stuff, they could simply have the import coding scan the folder to make sure there's no weird files inside; A texture pack and resource pack is required to have a text file that says certain things, have differing uuids, etc. There's no reason they'd have to worry about that.

Currently, the only way to import skins and textures into the game is through the developmental pack folders, located in the game's files. This is easy enough to access, and use, for computer players of Bedrock Edition, but what about console players?

Being able to import directly into the developmental texture folders, on all platforms, straight from the game's menus, (rather than through the files), would only serve to make the game all that more enjoyable to play.

When pressing the pause button, players on your list will have an icon corresponding to their map color.

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 08:05 AM PDT

Hopefully some of you remember the xbox 360 and ps3 versions of Minecraft.

If you don't, there was a neat little feature which would behave similarly to the chat window, without the chat part. We would see the list of players in our worlds, and in from top to bottom, they would randomly be assigned one of the 8 map pins so that they can be identified.

This made it easier to distinguish between players, and the color given to you was based on who joined the world first, in that session.

I feel like this would be a neat feature on Bedrock, since nobody knows who is who on a map, so perhaps coloring their nametags in game, giving them a color blob next to their names, or in the pause menu would be very helpful.

    Weak Shield

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 09:40 AM PDT

What if Minecraft had a new type of shield? I'm not referring to a new stronger type, that's basically just a shield with unbreaking, unless there could be something else added to a stronger shield. What if there was a weaker version of a shield?

First off, what would a weak shield be? Well, by replacing the iron ingot with a wooden plank in a crafting table, you'd get a weak shield. This shield would have worse durability than normal, but it would also have a 1 in 4 chance (maybe a lower chance, whatever's balanced) to not successfully block an attack. There could be more downsides, but this is what I could come up with.

Now you may be asking, "Why would you want a clearly inferior version of a normal shield?" Well like I said, this shield wouldn't require an iron ingot, so if you don't have access to iron yet, but you want something to defend yourself with from creeper explosions and skeleton arrows, then you could simply craft a weak shield until you want to make yourself a better type of shield.

If somebody else posted this idea before me, than it was just a coincidence. I thought of this idea on my own, but it's possible somebody had a similar idea as well. Thanks for reading!

Crafting new types of arrows with a fletching table.

    Posted: 19 Jun 2020 04:56 PM PDT

What if, by using a fletching table, you could combine arrows with certain materials to get unique types of arrows? This includes combining glowstone and arrows to make Spectral Arrows, and combining potions to make tipped arrows, but maybe they could add new arrows as well!

Here's my ideas on what types of arrows they could add, with the material used to craft them:

Snowball (x2?) - Ice Arrow: These arrows, when shot, would inflict a new status effect for about 2 seconds, being called frozen. When something has the frozen status effect, they start shaking, and can't move or do anything until the status effect wears off.

Redstone Dust - Redstone Arrow: When shot, this arrow could trigger a redstone signal. This would be different from the new target blocks due to the fact that they could activate a redstone signal without having to have a specific block placed.

TNT - Bomb Arrow: This is probably self-explanatory, when they land, they blow up. Simple. Also, the arrow itself would probably be destroyed in the explosion to keep things balanced. (Edit: They'd also probably have weaker and smaller explosions compared to TNT, so TNT doesn't become useless.)

Emerald - Triple Arrow: This arrow is probably the 2nd most dangerous arrow on this list, only being beaten out by bomb arrows. My general concept is, if this arrow hits something, the hit target will take damage, but the arrow will keep flying until it hits a wall or hits 3 mobs or players. When this arrow hits it's 3rd mob/player, it despawns, like a normal arrow does when it hits a mob/player.

Ender Pearl - Ender Arrow: I've been saving the best for last, this is by far my favourite of these ideas. When shot, this arrow would teleport you to wherever it lands. This would definitely be really fun to use in maps and PvP in my opinion. Imagine this, you see a player, so you shoot an ender arrow at them, which makes you teleport to them, and then you attack them with your sword/axe. Doesn't that sound like fun?

By the way, I didn't steal these ideas from someone else. If there's already an idea here that has been said on this subreddit, then it was probably a coincidence.

EDIT: Triple arrows are just the Piercing enchantment, woops.

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 05:19 AM PDT

I understand this sounds ambitious but imagine it, a ominous castle with pillagers raining arrows down on anyone unfortunate enough to get in the forts view, further more, entering the castle will start a siege, with a health bar at the top showing allies and illagers, speaking of allies, any iron golems spawned or freed from the dungeons will join the siege as an Allie, as well as all other players, so will dogs and tamed foxes, competing a siege (ie killing all illagers) will award you with the achievement "payback"

A broom that lets you sleep on most blocks.

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 11:27 AM PDT

    How to make a broom:

Surround a piece of wheat with string in a crafting table to make "bristles". This item is useless until crafted into a broom.

Craft the broom by placing bristles and two sticks in a reverse sword pattern.

This item can be used to "clean" certain blocks, allowing you to sleep on them. Blocks not included would be the types of dirt, leaves, ice, and several others.

This can be used as an alternative for a bed, as it will set your spawnpoint, and it will look better for people who want to make large beds out of wool.

Ghast tear of joy and new potion of divinity

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 02:44 AM PDT

The ghast tear of joy will be a super rare item dropped by ghast who are killed in the overworld, It will be a gold honey looking ghast tear model. This will also have a lore aspect for the achievement uneasy alliance as it says you have to free the ghast from the nether so pretty much you are letting the tormented soul of the ghast free when you kill it instead of killing it in the nether and keeping its soul trapped there. Anyways on to potion of divinity it will first off be colored yellow and be made by brewing the tear of joy with a awkward potion, it will give you absorption and good luck for 3 minutes and could be extended to 8 minutes. So this will kill two birds with one stone by finally adding a potion for luck and absorption as well
