Making different kinds of water with a cauldron

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 01:58 AM PDT

When building a dungeon, a swampy cave, ruins etc, you commonly use water, but are limited to the biome specific color. A solution for that would also be a solution for the useless cauldron.

You could put water in a cauldron and throw a plant in it in order to change the water its in.
Here are some examples: Lilypad gives swamp water, vines give jungle water, kelp gives ocean water, etc.
There also could be some unique water forms, like pure water from white flowers and darkened dead water from wither roses. The water buckets also are found in the creative inventory. The effects can also be reverted by putting glowstone in it, "cleaning" the water.

Horses should make a "clip-clop" sound when on stone

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 08:05 AM PDT

I just think it would be cool and immersive, they could even just make it so more sounds play when on different blocks. I use horses as my main mode of transportation so it'd be cool to hear all the unique sounds

    New Flowerpot recipe

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 10:06 AM PDT

I am trying to survive only in the nether without gathering Overworld resources. (I'm doing this is the 1.16 snapshot btw) and in order to make a flower pot, I need 3 normal bricks. I'd like it if as an alternative, you can also make flower pots with 3 nether brick, and/or maybe even red nether brick!

I wanna be able to have warped fungi in flower pots but I can't, so I'm just hoping maybe Mojang could add that. :)

When Husks are hit by a torch, there should be a chance for them to be set on fire

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 12:14 PM PDT

As the title says, hitting Husks with a torch should have a certain chance (higher than 50% probability) for the Husk to be set on fire.

The reasoning behind this is that Husks seens to be either dried-out zombies or zombies formed through dehydration via the scorching heat of deserts, which would make them very flammable.

Another small reason for it to be added is that they are a special kind of zombie, with special effects when attacking the player. It would be an interesting balance if along with a special attack, they also had an special weakness when fighting

Falling on hay bales should have a special sound effect.

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 09:01 AM PDT

Hay bales reduce fall damage, but the damage sound is the same. There should be an auditory reminder that the player took less damage, perhaps a soft thud.

Coal blocks should have a chance to be generated under fossils in the Soul Sand Valley

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 11:47 AM PDT

One of the most frustrating gaps in the Nether tech tree is the lack of a good fuel. The only fuel one can obtain from starting in the Nether are sticks from Warped or Crimson Stems. You can use Blaze Rods as well, but those are hardly accessible to the player at the beginning of the game.

My proposal is to generate coal blocks under fossils in the SSV. Currently, the SSV is the only Nether biome that has no resources or rewards for the risk of travelling there, which this suggestion will also solve. Adding the coal blocks underneath fossils would also make some real-world sense.

A new ranged weapon: The Blowgun!

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 07:08 AM PDT

This weapon would be crafted from 3 bamboo and a feather and use darts as ammo which would be crafted like arrows but without the stick.

They would fire 2x faster than bows but do half damage and would have a lower range. They would have 2 special enchants and cant be enchanted with infinity, power, punch, multi-shot or quick charge.

Ricochet would be an enchant that makes the darts ricochet off of mobs and blocks and have 3 levels that let it ricochet more 3 times for I, 4 times for II and 5 times for III.

Homing (which could also be put on bows) would be an enchant that makes dart/arrows home in on enemies i at certain range and has 2 levels, they would home in from 4 blocks away for I and 8 blocks for II.

this would be a nice addition to the ranged weapons and give another use for bamboo other than scaffolding and panda breeding.

    End Gravel and Light Concrete

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 11:28 PM PDT

The end gravel falls upside down and it looks like gravel from endstone. It appears from below the edges of the end islands.

Light concrete: 2 end gravel + 6 sand + 1 dye. Light concrete has more pastel shades and less durablity.

I've been saying this forever, but we need a play mode that is like peaceful but you still have to maintain hunger

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 02:46 PM PDT

I would love a play mode where you still have to eat, so you still have to farm, but you don't have to deal with aggressive mobs.

    Built-In Game Recording

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 12:31 PM PDT

You can stream with F6, so why not record? When you press F9 it will prompt if you'd like to record your game. After clicking Yes a yellow message will pop up in chat saying the recording has begun. Pressing F9 again will prompt if you'd like to stop the recording and after stopping it will ask if you want to save. When you save it will save it in a folder called records in your .minecraft folder. A new tab would be added to Options called Capture Settings where you can disable your cursor/audio/desktop audio etc. from being recorded and adjust your resolution.

    Swamp sub-biomes

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 10:20 AM PDT

    Mire

A mire would be an area full of a new block called "peat". Peat wouldn't flow into other blocks, but would be similar to lava in that you would be able to walk through it, but not swim in it. Putting it in a furnace, you could turn peat into dried peat, a highly lucrative fuel source. Wet peat would turn dry peat around it wet. Putting a sponge by peat would dry it. Also think that it would be neat if creepers had a higher spawn rate here, a nice little reference to the only Game Theory minecraft video that I like (I know that violates rule 8 but I think it would be fun.).

    Marsh

A marsh would be the same as a swamp, but would lack trees, a much higher spawn rate for seagrass and grass, and be more flat than a swamp. It would only be able to spawn by the coast.

[META] Facts and tips regarding the FPS list and other rules

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 04:42 AM PDT

This post isnt a message to the moderation team, but more to the community. So, the FPS list. Wherther you like it or not, it's one of the rules and if you suggest something that's on the list, it will likely get removed. Its very clear that many people don't read it eiter because they are new to reddit, or simply dont read rules, however I'm not sure there's something that can be done about it apart from informing people to read the rules when they break them(which is alreadly happening, and a lot).

There are cases that simply say they were unaware of the FPS, and there are cases when the OP defends his post in various ways even though they did read the FPS list.

Firstly, I want everyone to know that the reason the FPS list exists is because there are lots of obivous suggestions that crossed the minds of many people, whose then suggested them here, creating a flood of almost identical posts, which then make the unique ones less noticed. Thus, the argument "But I want this added!" Is invalid. Sure, if you want that added, go upvote and/or comment with possible improvements on existing posts regarding that exact feature. Theres no point in having 10 posts with 50 upvotes each rather than 1 post with 500 upvotes and 20 comments. Posts with more upvotes also get to the top where they can get even more upvotes and get noticed more.

There are also cases in which OP says "But how about X? That is in the game and is also affected by that entry, so there's no way this can't get implemented!" First off, it depends on the details and situation really. Second off, I also want people to know that the FPS doesn't affect things alreadly in game and doesn't affect wherther or not can a feature be added. What it does affect however, is what you can or can not post on this subreddit. Thus, this argument is invalid(apart from exceptions). However, that doesn't mean you'll flood other subreddits/social media with the idea. Again, its better to have fewer posts that get more attention than many that are only annoying. Mojang reads suggestions, even though you may not know it. They are very involved with the community and do listen.

And now, I want to cover a bit if other rules and not just the FPS list.

The rejected ideas list. This list, unlike the FPS list, does affect What will or will not get added, because as the name suggests, its a list of ideas rejected by the developers, so they are clearly not happening anytime soon, regardless of how much they are suggested.

Suggestion listing. This rule is very important mainly because of the voting system. I think it's written right in the rule description, but I'm gonna write it here too. This rule exists because suggestion listing makes it difficult for readers to give constructive criticizm to each suggestion on the list as well as deciding on voting. Lets say OP suggests feature A and feature B, which are unrelated, and you only like A. What will you do? Upvote, downvote or dont do eiter of those?

Tip: format your post properly so it's not a wall of text, because readability may be the difference between 50 upvotes and 500 upvotes.

the part above was aimed more towards posters, but now I'll aim towards commenters/readers.

Be kind to OP's even if you dont like their suggestion, and if you like it, dont write "OOOO THIS IS GOOD I WANT THIS ADDED" in the comments, because such a comment does nothing more than a simple upvote(apart from occupying space). Comments are meant to be eiter constructive criticizm or ideas on improving a post. Don't make comments that are a wall of text(same goes for posts), because it's very hard to read.

If you like the suggestion and have nothing to add, simply upvote and move on. If you have something to point out, do it. If you don't like a suggestion, you may also downvote, but you need to explain why you did so, and what can be improved on said suggestion. Also, don't use usernames/other posts/other unrelated content as an argument. Example of this problem: A:"I dont like this suggestion because it's unoriginal." B:"it's still more original than the one you posted last week". At that point its no longer a conversation, but only insulting others.

simply put, rules are important and have their reasonings. Try and respect them, because it makes this place better for everyone. I know this post won't stop everything bad or rulebreaking, but I hope at least some people who read this will get better. Obivously I didn't cover everything, but I think these are one of the more important things to remember when being on this subreddit.

Have a nice day and thanks for reading!

    New biome: cliff beach.

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 01:39 PM PDT

The beaches in Minecraft are today very bad. A beach update would be fantastic, but that's not what i'm talking about. I wanted to propose you the cliff biome.

Talking about wich biome would it spawn near, it would be near cold oceans, hills, mountains. The structure of the biome consists in a beach, a small grassy area and a giant cliff. There would be two tipes of beach: the long beach and the short beach. The difference would be like beetwen low tide and high tide. The long beach would be about 50-100 blocks long, consisting of a layer going up and down randomly, forming little lakes (like water remained in holes when the sea retired) and low "hills". After that, the soil would literally fall to the bottom of the sea, almost vertically. The sand won't reach the cliff, ending in a small grassy area with trees, grass, mushrooms. Instead, the short beach wouldn't be more than 15-20 blocks long. It would be full of dead bushes, little grass blocks spots, that would replace the grassy area of the long beach.

The cliffs would be beetwen 20 and 30 blocks high, to avoid ending in giant structures higher that the actual mountains. They would be made of a type of stone, that would slowly become dirt and grass. After the cliff has reached his top, it starts the next biome, as a mountain or a hill. In a very rare case, the cliffs would be completely made of diorite, as it is the most similar thing to the chalck the white cliffs of Dover are made. I couldn't upload any image, but an example of a real beach similar to the minecraft long beach cliff could be Omaha Beach.

Charged Creepers give a new effect: Deafness

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 11:44 PM PDT

Deafness would be much like a stopsound command, but unlike commands that have gaps with ticks, the player can't hear ANYTHING for 20 seconds on easy, 40 on normal, 60 on hard, etc.

This would make sense, explosions damage your hearing, and Charged Creepers explosions are much more powerful.

Their explosions would be the only natural way of getting it, but with commands, it could be useful for map creators.

    Villager Animations

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 06:28 AM PDT

Why not add villager animations? For instance, the weapon smith shall pound an anvil with a hammer, the librarian shall take off it´s book hat and read it, the cartographer stares at a map and every now and then adjusts it´s monocle, the farmer chews on a wheat leaf, the fisherman actually goes fishing and so on and so forth. This would make people not think villagers are idiots and accompany the new emotes.

    Cave Mobs

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 07:50 AM PDT

if they make a cave update they need more mobs for the caves. even if they don't make the update, we all can agree that the caves are kinda boring. all you have are zombies, skellies, creepies, and spideys. As well as an occasional enderman. it's easy to get rid of all five with torches, and none of them are unique to the caves. i propose that these mobs and structures only spawn beneath y=40 so that they make caving a little more interesting.

    ------------

    Mobs

    -----------

Mole - the mole would hide inside blocks, similar to the way a silverfish does. you can get it out of the block by mining it, and the block is an instant break, however unlike silver fish the Mole can attack you from within it's block, without ever needing to leave the block. The mole can also change the block that it is inside. it can move through stone and dirt, but when it move through stone or dirt it changes them to gravel.Once you break it out of the ground it cannot move and will slowly suffocate to death.

Shade - a small, wispy mob that destroys torches. it has really low health and damage, but can be annoying because it destroys one of the most common light sources, the torch. it is to weak to break lanterns, but will try anyway, killing itself in the process. this would make caves a bit more difficult because it torches can prevent mobs from spawning. when this get's rid of them it leaves you unexpectedly vulnerable.

Cave Creeper - basically just a creeper that's designed to blend in with cave walls. it also has a larger explosion.

Heavy Weight Skeleton - the arrows can break through two blocks of stone or three blocks of dirt. it deals less damage than a regular skeleton, and doesn't shoot as far, but prevents you from blocking it off. it also helps pave a way for other mobs to get you. it can, or course see through 3 block when pathfinding towards you.

Sting - a weak, way slower version of the vex. it is extremely rare but can be quite irritating as it is nearly impossible to know where it is coming from while you are in the cave. it takes damage when in light level 7+ and heals health when in light level 4-. combined with the Shade, it can be a very intense foe.

    ---------------

    Structures

    ---------------

Spider Nest - it would be larger than a normal spawn room, with far more cob webs and at least 2 cave spider spawners.

Bat Cave - a room full of bats. nothing hostile about his at all, just a nice room. most cave structures are full of hostile mobs and things that can kill you. this is just aesthetic.

Tomb - a maze like husk-spawner that is only found in deserts.

    Seagulls

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 06:02 AM PDT

In minecraft we need birds so my idea is that there are seagulls. This will create more of a realistic world of minecraft look.

Seagull: seagulls will spawn in beaches above oceans(luke warm ocean, deep oceans etc). Seagulls will take food from your main hand and off hand. When killed it will drop a cod, salmon or a tropical fish and will drop white feathers and rarely it will drop a nautilus shell. They will spawn 1-2 in a group

Something else that can be is they can drop bird eyes which can be used for levitation potions or something else not sure. More suggestions and feedback would be appreciated even an upvote would be good.,

    New uses for pigs

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 10:03 AM PDT

Pigs in minecraft only work for meat, which is sad considering they have done nothing wrong to you and are scared when you kill them. They can also be mounted but it is very slow and useless compared to a horse because you need to have to feed them for them to go quicker. What could be another use for pigs? Please leave your suggestions below. Maybe they can produce fertilizer if you feed them regularly. Or maybe they can be tamed.

    Crows in minecraft

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 06:00 AM PDT

In minecraft we need birds so my idea is that there are crows. This will create more of a realistic world of minecraft

Crows: crows will spawn in plains, spruce or any similar biomes. Crows will not attack(exept when hit they will hit you and fly of)you but will pick on your crops, villagers crops and even berries when a crop is picked on it will reduce a growth rate. The crow will drop black feathers and occasionally will drop a crop(wheat, seeds, berries etc). They will spawn in groups of 3-4.

Something else that can be is they can drop bird eyes which can be used for levitation potions or something else not sure. More suggestions and feedback would be appreciated even an upvote would be good.

    bubbler blocks

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 12:44 PM PDT

The bubbler block would be a block that when a Redstone current is applied, a bubble column pointing in the direction the block is facing would be generated.

The block would be crafted like a dispenser, but instead of a bow, either a magma block or soul sand block would be placed in the center. if a soul sand block was used, the bubble column created by the activated bubbler block would push entities, and if a magma block was used, the bubble column would pull entities.

a possible feature would be that various Redstone power levels could create bubble columns of different lengths.

this could be used for all sorts of things, such as adding decoration to creative builds (for example, adding a trail of bubbles to a submarine), creating puzzles for adventure maps (for example a puzzle where you need to pull levers in the right order to navigate a mob through a maze), creating mob farms (for example, the spawning area could be larger and bubble columns could be used to funnel the mobs a longer distance to the grinder), or just creating faster water elevators.
