In the beginning, we had no clue that it it would eventually blossom into such an amazing community of wonderful people. With community-driven contests and events such as a Windmill Competition in the middle of March 2013, the Great Ore Tree Hunt on May 1st 2013, a community Ender Dragon fight in the same month and in June the creation of a new spawn, the server was on a very good path for the future for the rest of 2013. Between Febuary to July of 2014 we worked on a new city named Redshire, but it all got cut short on October 24, 2014 when the server was retired due to a high lack in motivation, and an increasing decline in server popularity. However in September of 2015 there was a teaser posted on the forum of an amazing new spawn. The Return of Mountain Pass happened on October 17th, 2015 featuring brand new custom economy shops, infinitely generated custom terrain and the same amazing community. Although the hype seemed to match expectations, Minecraft was declining in popularity. The daily connected players never seemed to be what it was before and the server eventually dropped into a state of hibernation, eventually going offline after Halloween in 2017. Now three years later with the start of a new year comes a new spark of intuition and motivation to revive the server, which has brought a lot of previous members together for the rebirth of Mountain Pass. After many long days of plugin configuration, revamping & remodeling old buildings from Redshire, and installing premium plugins, Mountain pass is back. We are on our second year with a solid group of long term player.s We've all been having fun doing new map antics and building our new bases. The server is in Montreal and sports 16GB of RAM and hermitcraft datapacks. Additionally we have a community creative server available. You can collaborate with other players in creative, or test you redstone contraptions on a server environment. We ask that you be at least 16, but this is not a deal breaker. We have an active community with vibrantly personalities from across the world. Many players choose to play with friends and family. For an idea of what we've made, I've linked a few screenshots from our server, such as someone's base or our nether hub or giant farms. We have more pictures on our discord as well. We have a central town to build shops, and an area set aside just for building mini-games. Our server runs on diamonds and trust for currency, helping reinforce our community as we build out. Our specific datapacks include: AFK Name Changer - Displays a persons's name slightly lighter in the tab menu when they are AFK. Anti-Enderman Grief - Prevents endermen from picking up your stuff. Good riddance. Custom Armor Stands - Allows you to pose armor stands with the use of a special book. (The free book vendor can be found at spawn.) Dragon Drops Elytra - Self-explanatory. Double Shulker Shells - Shulkers will always drop two shells- guaranteed. More Mob Heads - Allows you to receive the respective mob head from any mob as a rare drop when killed. Multiplayer Sleep - Allows the progression to day with only one person sleeping Kill Cod - Cod can lag the server due to an AI bug, so "/trigger kc_KillCod" kills all naturally spawned cod. Silence Mobs - Got a bunch of mobs making noise in your base? Rename a name tag to "silence me" without the quotes and the mob will no longer make noise. GoatZone is an Avatar Semi-roleplay SMP server similar to hermitcraft where you get to become a bender of one of the 4 elements, or perhaps you rebel against the benders and become a Chi blocker? Your faith is up to you. Update since my last post: Since my last post Ba Sing Se has risen, the Firenation is building their Capital city, The southern water tribe has risen, alongside the northern one, and so has the Southern Air Temple. All of these are under construction. And last but not least, the Kyoshi Warriors has just formed and are looking for members to join them! Pictures of current progress: TL:DR: On GoatZone the 4 elements are split up to create their own nations, with their own laws and economy. The way the nations are ruled are decided by a ruler. The server also has a randomly chosen Avatar that can bend all 4 elements and enter the Avatar state. A new Avatar is chosen each month. The server is on Java edition. We are also currently in a massive need of new staff members, and our applications are open! GoatZone requires no mods at all to play! Apply to GoatZone [Here] Now for some more detailed information. Information on the Avatar GoatZone takes place after the death of Avatar Aang, however instead of having Avata Korra be born, we will have our own avatars. The way this will work is that every month one player will be randomly chosen in the Elemental order that they are chosen in, in the Avatar lore. This being Fire>Air>Water>Earth. This means that every month the Avatar will be randomised, however the only people included in that randomising will be people from the element that comes next. For example, this taking part after the death of Aang, our first Avatar will be a Water bender. Then the month after, an Earth bender will be chosen next, and so on. The Avatar will be able to bend all 4 elements, and also go in to the Avatar state. The player that is chosen to be the Avatar will be not be announced publically, unless the player wants that. Meaning am rp scenario where the Avatar was never found is a possible scenario, if that player choose to stay hidden. However if the player chose to, they will get the option to travel to all nations to learn the 4 elements. The avatar can only use their starting element without training, the rest requires training. This means that the Avatar needs to travel by foot between the nations to find a trainer in each element. If the Avatar is killed by a player in the Avatar state, they will lose their Avatar abilities and a new Avatar will be chosen. If this happens, all Avatar spirits will also lose their Discord rank, to simulate the Avatar cycle being destroyed. All past Avatars will also recieve the Avatar Spirit rank in Discord. This will grant them access to the spirit chat, which only Avatar spirits and the Avatar can access. This is to simulate how the Avatar can talk to their past lives. Chi benders and Non Benders can not be chosen as the Avatar. The server Structure The server is divided in to nations, every nation will have their own ruler, an Earth king/queen, a Fire Lord/Lady and so on. These rules will be able to create their own laws in their nation, have taxes, and so on. Of course if it gets out of hand Admins will break in, but generally speaking, the ruler decides on everything. As long as it doesn't break the server rules. The players of each nation and element will help eachother build their cities, which should be located accuratelly to the avatar lore using the Coordinates in Minecraft. This meaning, northern things, should be north, and so on. The nations should generally also try to stick to the general design of the people of their element to keep it lore accurate. If a ruler is killed in combat by a player, their position as ruler will be passed on to whoever they may be married to, or if they have offspring. Roleplaying a family will be completelly valid on the server. A ruler can also be challenged to their position by players, and if the ruler loses they lose their position as ruler to that player. The ruler can however deny this challenge. If the Rules go inactive, their power will be passed on to possible family, if none, it will be up to the people to elect a new Ruler. The server also has a variety of other things to offer you. Like our economy system. You can earn money in various ways, like just selling items, or auctioning them. You can also play Blackjack in hopes of earning money through gambling. There's also a banking system on the server, which allows players to put their money in banks and earn interest on their money. This money can then be used to buy various things, like items on the auction. These items can be anything, and some players like to collect rare items, which brings me to my next point. The server has Lootcrates, which is 100% free, nothing on GoatZone cost money. These crates can be opened, similar to CS:GO crates, and you can get rare custom items, which players like to collect! You can also spend your money on pets, new pets are constantly added too! RP buildings The server offers a variety of RP buildings too. These buildings are building that should be build in all cities, once built, a moderator+ will come and set up what is needed to turn it in to an actual functional building, like a bank, or auction! Here are the rp buildings currently offered: Markets: They are multipurpose shop areas, where you can have different kinds of shops in one place! Auction/Market: This building us used to give players access to the auction, once built, notify an admin+ and they will put a sign which players can right click to access the auction. Petshop/Market: These buildings are a place where you can buy pets! Notify an admin+ and they will put a sign which players can right click to access the petshop. Bank: In the bank you can store your money, which you will over time gain interrest on, which means you will increase your money over time by keeping it in the bank. notify an admin+ and they will put a sign which players can right click to access the Bank. Casino: Build this building to recieve special lootcrates which you can open in order to, perhaps, get something good? There should be 10 spots for crates to be placed. The server is still in it's early stage, and for anybody who loves building in a community, this is the server for you. The server is similar to Hermitcraft, but with Avatar lore. [14] No Griefing [15] Killing is not allowed within civilisation, meaning, as long as you are close to any building, people can not kill you. You may also not kill people from your own nation, unless challenged first! [16] You have to live within the proximity of your elements nation. None benders may live in any nation, same goes for Chi Blockers. The only exception is if you marry someone from another nation, then you may live in either one of those nations. All benders may live in Republic city. [17] Marriage needs to be approved by a Moderator+. If you want to get married, you need their approval. The reason for this is that Marriage as a "meme" or to gain a benefit is not allowed. Marriage is an rp function and should only be used for rp relationships, or for real relationships. Marrying without mod+ approval is failrp. [18] You may not kill a ruler simpelly because you wanna take their power. In order to take down a ruler you need to establish a rebelion, with a legitimate reason. Fake reasons will not be allowed. I suggest asking a moderator+ to see if your rebelion would be approved. Killing a ruler for no legitimate reason, is failrp. [19] The avatar may not use warps between cities when learning to bend the 4 elements, the avatar have to walk between the nations on foot, or have a trainer walk to them. [20] The Avatar may only energybend in the Avatar state. While not all energybending technically require it, this rule is set to encourage the Avatar to use the Avatar state. [21] No bullying or insults, you can have friendly banter, or joke around, but as soon as it becomes pure insults and just attacking somebody, that is not okay. If somebody ask you to stop, you need to stop. [22] Naming items the same name as a Crate drop, in an anvil to change their textures in to a Crate item is not allowed. All authentic Crate drops have lore saying their rarity. This also applies to limited items. Simpelly put, changing item textures in an anvil is not allowed. [23] No weapons in Player VS Player combat, unless first agreed upon! We make perimeters for almost all of our farms, or use the end gateways. We use carpet (Monitoring tool) for lag reasons & loading AI accounts instead of alt accounts. We are looking for crazy & ambitious decorators and technical players. We're fans of TIS/Prototech/Scicraft servers, but like decorating just as much as the tech side. We are still growing the community, only 7 active players currently. We share our storage, so their is no real reason for bases, or shops. Our decisions/rules are decided by everyone active & their is no ranks/owners/patrons bias, stackable shulkers and single player sleep is enabled. We also dupe Shells & Elytra as they are not renewable, (raided every end city within 10k blocks and world file size gets HUGE). We have currently built witherskele, Double guardian, Quadwitch farm, but haven't finished tweaking/decorating. If you're interested in challenging huge projects, learning tech stuff or just want to grind, the server may suite you. We are looking for people with ambition & obsession with minecraft!
