New Crossbow Enchantment: Velocity Posted: 07 Jun 2020 08:00 AM PDT What is Velocity? Velocity is a damage enchantment for crossbows, but instead of being a generic damage enchantment like Sharpness and Power, for Velocity, the amount of damage dealt is based on the distance the crossbow arrow travels. Velocity comes in 3 levels, with each increase in level increasing the rate at which damage increases. Here are the damage stats for velocity I, II and III: Velocity I: Damage increases by 1 hitpoint (½ heart) every 3 blocks travelled. A player can take out another player with no armour from 60 blocks away with one arrow. Velocity II: Damage increases by 1 hitpoint (½ heart) every 2 blocks travelled. A player can take out another player with no armour from 40 blocks away with one arrow. Velocity III: Damage increases by 1 hitpoint (½ heart) every block travelled. A player can take out another player with no armour from 20 blocks away with one arrow. There is a damage cap at 50 damage, meaning you can take out an iron golem with one shot from 50 blocks away. My only concern for the damage cap was the fact that the Ender Dragon flies at more than 200 blocks away from the player, the prime distance for the player to mess him up bad. If not for that I would've liked to snipe a wither from 300 blocks away and get my nether star. Also, applying this enchantment means that the crossbow will do an abysmal 1 damage to an opponent right in front of you. Not a good idea to use this as a close ranged weapon. Well, I mean if you have a sword like any normal player, you wouldn't be using a crossbow for that anyways. As you can see, Velocity I is almost nothing at all, while Velocity III is basically a game changer for crossbows. Although crossbows still do slightly less damage than bows and still don't have a flame, punch or infinity enchantment (if you don't count Piercing IV), Crossbows still have much better accuracy for long distance shots and crowd control abilities, which basically makes them god-tier weapons for massive, packed crowds of mobs far away. This would put crossbows on the same level as bows in terms of practicality, which would encourage more players to use crossbows. If you guys have any feedback or tips to balance this out more, please tell me in the comments. Thanks for reading this! [link] [comments] |
Dispensers with buckets filling/emptying Cauldrons Posted: 07 Jun 2020 05:45 AM PDT The title says it all, I was surprised to find out that this isn't a feature already. This feature would open up new redstone contraptions, with auto-refilling cauldrons only being the beginning. To expand on this, the same should also be possible with water bottles/empty bottles. There is already a Minecraft suggestions post here: Dispensers Filling and Emptying Cauldron [link] [comments] |
Bamboo Chutes! A transport and utility block. Posted: 07 Jun 2020 05:11 AM PDT Hi, fairly new player here and first time poster in this sub so sorry if this or something similar has been suggested already! Basically the idea is to use bamboo to craft a sort of 'slide' shape (as if you cut a massive piece of bamboo straight down the middle). It would work similar to rails, except it would be powered by a flow of water so things can only move laterally or downhill. You could put a boat in the water and use it to slowly transport chests or people. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Kinetic Energy Helmet Enchantment Posted: 07 Jun 2020 08:04 AM PDT So after dying from flying too fast into a wall again, I feel there should be a protection against Kinetic Energy. There's feather falling after all right? It could even be mutually exclusive with protection so there'd be a trade off for using your "flying helmet" like using Elytra over a chest plate. I suppose it doesn't have to be mutually exclusive as it is similar to feather falling, but regardless I feel this would be valuable to players who have had this happen quite a bit. Edit: A better name that was suggested is Impact Protection. [link] [comments] |
Right clicking a wolf with a chain gives it a spiked collar. Posted: 07 Jun 2020 12:46 AM PDT Title says it all, right clicking a tamed wolf with a chain will give it a spiked collar. This will be a second texture layer. Not much else to it [link] [comments] |
Strongholds in Bedrock need to be changed. Posted: 07 Jun 2020 03:32 AM PDT In bedrock a stronghold sometimes generates without a portal, and eyes of ender still lead you to that stronghold even if there is no portal. It's incredibly annoying travelling thousands of blocks in search of a stronghold, only to find that there is no portal and that the eyes of ender refuse to point you to any other stronghold. In the next bedrock update, either make it so all strongholds generate with a portal or if not, the eyes of ender only lead you to ones with a portal. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jun 2020 02:55 PM PDT Copper- I'll get into generation fast so I can get to the juicy parts. Generation (and other)Copper ore is a little rarer than iron and spawns only below sea level. It's mined as a block and has to be smelted into a Copper ingot UseOnce you've gotten copper, you can do one of three things with it. 1. Is to make weapons and tools 2. Is to make armor. 3. Is to infuse it into other things 1. Weapons and toolsCopper tools are not very good. They only have a little more durability than gold, and the sword does the same damage as a stone sword. The quirk about these tools is their speed. Copper tools mine quicker than iron, and the weapons have a higher attack speed. 2. Copper armorCopper armor is similar to the tools. It has a moderately low durability, and will protect you around as much as chain will. There's not any way to "increase the speed" with the armor, but there is a special feature. Crafting Copper and Leather armor together will fuse them together. This is actually a real thing people did at one point, too! Anyways, this armor set would have higher durability than iron, but the same protection as iron. 3. InfusingCopper ingots have another, more interesting use. They can be infused into other tools with a smithing table, which will make the infused tool have a quicker attack speed / mine quicker. Doing this will very slightly lower its durability, so be careful what you infuse, but if resources are plentiful, it would be a good deal. other usesWith copper, you can make a copper block for storage and decoration purposes. You can also make a copper gong, that makes any mobs that are within 20 blocks pathfind away from the gong, given they aren't targeted to something. It can be activated with redstone. Speaking of redstone, right clicking a redstone repeater with a Copper ingot will add an extra tick of delay to it, increasing its maximum. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jun 2020 07:38 AM PDT Decay Phantoms are found above nether fortresses and patrol the skies of The Nether. Not only would they be fireproof and inflict fire damage, they'll offer more challenge in the fortresses. They have red skin, yellow eyes and withered bones. If you don't sleep in about six days, they'll spawn in the overworld. They drop withered bones and membranes. Repairing them will turn them into normal membranes. A decay phantom (if in the overworld) will be found most commonly in badlands. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jun 2020 11:28 PM PDT This new gamerule, when set to false, will stop all liquids from flowing or updating in general. Similar to DoFireTick, which stops fire, but for liquids. This would be useful if you accidentally misplace a water bucket in a redstone circuit or if you dig into a water cave while building one. This gamerule is set to true by default. [link] [comments] |
They should add falling leaves. Posted: 07 Jun 2020 12:49 PM PDT You can collect them and get 4 to craft paper. You need 9 to craft a leaf block. Edit: And leaf blocks should decay once dropping 7-9 leaves. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jun 2020 01:33 AM PDT Since we can no longer place weapons on armor stands, and putting them in item frames just looks tacky, I propose a weapon / tool stand. It would look like this, it would be capable of displaying 2 weapons. It could hold: swords, bows, axes, tridents, picks, shovels, hoes, crossbows, and even fishing rods. It would be 1x1, but the items placed on it would hang over a little. they can be stacked vertically and would be connected this way. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jun 2020 02:35 PM PDT I love Peaceful. I think it removes the stress of fighting off mobs and yet still gives the player the fulfillment of having gathered resources and built structures themselves. Despite this, Peaceful appears to have had very little thought out into it when it comes to certain aspects. Gunpowder, bones, ender pearls and countless other materials are so unnecessarily difficult to obtain in Peaceful, bringing me to my main point: Bring the hostile mobs back, but make them passive. This has already been done with the Piglins and Hoglins in the Nether Update, and would make Peaceful leagues more enjoyable by opening up new opportunities for farms, Redstone (slime balls) and whatnot. Pillagers should feel threatened Posted: 06 Jun 2020 11:39 PM PDT I think it would be a really cool AI change if Pillagers build a reputation of you within their communities. Let's say you kill a Pillager group and get their flag. If you hang it on your house, they know to stay away. Maybe those Pillagers "talk to the others" and they stay away too. To make this go further, a group of six could mount an attack to avenge the group you killed off. And this keeps building until you are forced to go to the Pillager outpost and kill them all off so they leave you alone. I just feel like there isn't much "strategic" stuff in survival. It'd be a cool add I think. Brings attention to features for new players, and challenge. [link] [comments] |
Beds should have different textures depending on the type of wood used to make them. Posted: 07 Jun 2020 03:13 PM PDT Signs, doors, trapdoors, and boats all have this feature, and with the ability to change the colour of the wool in the bed, we should be able to change the wood as well. [link] [comments] |
Add the gamerule “doBlockUpdate” Posted: 06 Jun 2020 11:41 PM PDT When it's false, block updates won't occur and sand won't fall, per example. You could build cool custom cactuses, big sand/gravel structures and turn it back on (because Redstone would work without it). [link] [comments] |
Washing rotten flesh in a cauldron Posted: 07 Jun 2020 03:40 PM PDT You could right-click a cauldron with rotten flesh and wash it into leather, consuming one level of water [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jun 2020 07:17 PM PDT Some ideas to make the campfire more useful beyond being a worse furnace and a cheaper magma block.

Growth enchantment, woodland mansion loot. Posted: 07 Jun 2020 02:20 PM PDT The woodland mansion is a great addition to the game, but for its rarity and effort to find one in an average world, it just doesnt seem worth it to seek it out in any other mode but hardcore. So, lets fix that. -NEW ITEMS- One new enchant on the loot table (growth) Growth is like mending in the sense it is not teired, very powerful, and very rare. It is a 1/3 chance to drop instead of a totem from evokers, . So, what will growth do? Growth Will add 5 extra hp of health per armor peice. (That toatals to an extra health bar) If this sounds overpowered, hear me out. This will be very hard to get, very rare, an highly rewarding. If this balancing does not make sense, and turns out to ruin the balance of the game, you can make growth and protection mutually exclucive. Thanks for reading [link] [comments] |
Cats should be afraid of Sea Pickles Posted: 06 Jun 2020 06:46 PM PDT Cats are afraid of Cucumbers and Pickles in real life so I think it would be funny if they're afraid of sea pickles in Minecraft. If a Minecraft Cat is near a Sea Pickle, they should jump out and away from the Sea Pickle. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jun 2020 07:45 AM PDT It would be cool to have an enchant that increases the maximum speed of an elytra during flight. [link] [comments] |
Add an animation to stripping logs. Posted: 07 Jun 2020 04:12 PM PDT Stripped wood is too easy to "make", only with one click of a button. This frustratingly annoys me and other players as you could be building and accidentally strip wood and waste wood. I suggest adding a quick 2 or 3 frame animation which would be activated simply by holding the right mouse button. This will keep the accessibility of stripped wood without making people irritated with accidental clicks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jun 2020 12:06 AM PDT Till now, we still don't have blindness effect in survival. So, I present you the Solar Eclipse. Solar Eclipse: Happens once in a while...during solar eclipse, the sky will get darker, causing mobs to spawn. Moreover, staring at the sun, will cause you temporary blindness. Lunar Eclipse: Happens once in a while, but rarer than solar eclipse....during lunar eclipse, the moon turns red, causing slimes to spawn in any biome, but the light level should be less than 7 for them to spawn. Posted: 07 Jun 2020 04:03 PM PDT I dont know if this is the right sub to ask but here it goes... I have went to easily 20 different servers trying to find a skyblock server that I will fall into the void and lose my stuff but instead I am transported back to my island or back to spawn with everything still in my inventory. I feel like that takes all the fun out of skyblock if there's no risk. If anybody knows of a good server please let me know! Also I like building huge redstone contraptions too and I know some servers arent big fans of hoppers and pistons. Any help would be appreciated [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jun 2020 06:14 AM PDT Some veteran Minecraft players doesn't like the Hunger system, so i suggest a gamerule to enable/disable it [link] [comments] |
