Piglins and Hoglins should fear Endermen Posted: 15 Jun 2020 02:54 AM PDT The warped forest is the most peaceful biome in the Nether, because neither Piglins nor Hoglins spawn in it. This is a cool mechanic, but my problem with it is there's no apparent reason why it's a thing. Hoglins are repelled by warped fungi so it makes sense they don't like this biome, but Piglins have no reason to not explore it. I think that them fearing Endermen would make perfect sense, they are scary creatures that come from another dimension. Instead of ignoring them, they should always keep a safe distance if they somehow encounter one. Hoglins would run away from them, staying at least 10 blocks away. But Piglins would only get as close as 15 blocks, and always avoid making eye contact, suggesting they had unfortunate encounters before and are aware of their capabilities. [link] [comments] |
Let players dye shulker boxes the same way that you dye leather armor Posted: 15 Jun 2020 09:43 AM PDT More shades and colors would make storage systems more diverse and pretty to look at. Sometimes 16 colors isn't enough, and this idea would change that. [link] [comments] |
You should be able to place enchanted books on a lectern! Posted: 15 Jun 2020 04:30 AM PDT There are very few ways to display enchanted books in Minecraft, either you use item frames or mods, other than that you are pretty much drawing a blank. Just wouldn't it be cool if you were in a town and you decided to go to a magic wizardry shop just to see various enchanted books displaying on a series of lecterns? I know you can use the item frame trick where you can place an item frame on a lectern and place an item inside of it to display whatever you please, but it is not the same for enchanted books! And that is why I propose a tiny feature that allows you to directly place enchanted books on a lectern, they can't be read, but it is merely for advertisement. I understand this is a small feature and will probably be forgotten quickly, but I am working on a town in my Minecraft world, and I am planning on making a wizardry shop where I would like to display enchanted books and potions and such, so this would be a fantastic feature if it were to be added. Anyway, I wonder what Reddit thinks of my idea! [link] [comments] |
Music for important structures in the game. Posted: 15 Jun 2020 02:09 AM PDT So I was listening to Minecraft Dungedons OST recently and i thought, "Wouldn´t it be cool if there was a piece of music that played only in the stonghold?" So I suggest exclusive music for structures like the Stronghold , End City or Nether Fortress. Maybe even for Villages , Ocean Monuments and Woodland Mansions. [link] [comments] |
Some Villager workstations might come with some items. Posted: 15 Jun 2020 06:42 AM PDT The following would have a small chance of happening:
[link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jun 2020 05:26 AM PDT This will be a new event that will happen depending on your world's local difficulty (singleplayer world) and in-game difficulty eg. peaceful, easy, normal and hard (both single and multiplayer). Example: Peaceful: Disabled Easy: 1/155days Normal: 1/105 days Hard: 1/65 days In this event hostile mobs will spawn during day and undead mods will not burn in sunlight. Indications: If you see moon in daytime either in the horizon or somewhat near sun it is a sign that a solar eclipse is about to happen In addition to this solar eclipses will come in four types: •Minor eclipse •Semi-minor eclipse •Partial eclipse •Total eclipse Minor eclipse: In this solar eclipse the moon will cover 25% of the sun's surface area. This is the most easiest eclipse and spiders(neutral) and small sized slimes will spawn in swamp and slime chunks. semi-minor: In this solar eclipse the moon will cover half of the sun's surface. In this eclipse spiders will spawn with certain buffs, huge sized slimes and creepers will spawn. If you live in dry biomes husks will start to spawn. Partial eclipse: This is where things start to get messy. In this solar eclipse the moon will cover 75% of the sun's surface area and now you can also see stars. The mod spawning in this eclipse is similar to your average minecraft night also undead mobs don't burn in sunlight. Total eclipse: Now prepare for total nightmare. The sun is fully covered by moon, mob spawning is increased by upto 45% but at the same time mobs will have a chance to drop more drops than they should. Edit:The post is on the feedback site(currently pending approval). You can vote if you want here [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jun 2020 01:44 PM PDT what i mean by biome behaviour? basically how a biome works, here are some examples (THIS IS THE SAME SUGGESTION AND ITS ONLY EXAMPLES) example 1: jungle biomes rain more often, in real rain forests like the amazon forest, rains A LOT there example 2) add sandstorms, like in real deserts example 3) have blizzards on snow biomes like the snow hill biome thing example 4) taiga biomes having a chance of snowing, the same for mega taigas [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jun 2020 01:17 PM PDT The wandering adventurer travels around all biomes except oak and birch forests. He looks like a villager except he 1)rides a horse 2)wears iron armour 3) has a sword He is proficient in combat and will be extremely fast and difficult to kill. However, he is neutral and won't attack you unless you attack him. He will attack other mobs and is drawn to naturally generated structures. He will also be drawn to campfires places by the player. If he is near a village, he will defend it from raids. Thoughts? Suggestions? [link] [comments] |
Baby Villagers should be happy or make a noise when given a gift Posted: 14 Jun 2020 10:21 PM PDT When a Iron Golem offers a Baby Villager a poppy, or you give it a cookie, it should make a happy noise and emit some particles. [link] [comments] |
A few more uses for phantom membrames Posted: 15 Jun 2020 05:26 AM PDT Let's face it: phantom membranes are (kind of) useless execpt beeing a component for the potion of slow falling :( Sure you can repair Elytras with them, but by the time most people get to the end they already have a mending/unbreaking III book ready for the first elytra they encounter. So to give the only drop of the most annoying mob (imo) slightly more purpose I just suggest a few things surrounding phantom membranes and things related to them. - (this has apparently already been rejected) corrupting a "potion of slow falling" with a fermented spider eye creates a "potion of levitation". This potion lifts an entity effected by it a few blocks into the air and holds it there for a few seconds - perhaps a new craftable, consumatle item from phantom membranes that alters the elytra flight mechanics for a few minutes (faster, slower, hovering in place, etc.) - a special kind of boots (similar to the turtle shell) crafted using phantom membranes, a pair of leather boots and maybe feathers that give the player an increased feather falling effect (maybe up to V) or a small slow falling effect before hitting the ground - it would be awesome if we could craft "elytra patterns" with the phantom membranes that could customize the elytra skin when it is applied to an elytra :D EDIT: the second idea used to be another "crafting Elytras" thing, replaced it with something more unique :D [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jun 2020 05:02 AM PDT This curse would be able to come in books or armor which would come in naturally generating structures. This curse only goes on armor, and would anger neutral mobs when you wear it, even though you didn't do anything to them. This curse would come in 3 levels, (like unbreaking). Disgrace 1 means that lamas, dolphins and pandas attack you on sight. Disgrace 2 makes wolves, bees, spiders and polar bears. Plus everything before. Disgrace 3 would mean that Iron Golems, pigmen, Piglins, enderman and basically every neutral mob attack you. [link] [comments] |
Villagers should be able to eat whatever players can! Posted: 15 Jun 2020 05:54 AM PDT I've been playing around with villager breeding lately and have been thinking that it would be easier to breed villagers if they had a wider range of consumables. Basically, if a villager can grow a crop or trade a food item to the player, they should be able to eat it, as well. [link] [comments] |
Piglins should barter between themselves Posted: 15 Jun 2020 11:34 AM PDT Basically, piglins should be able to barter with each other at random times, using items in their inventory. There are a few details. First, being items in their inventory, it would largely be comprised of items they can pick up, which is rather limited. To expand this, it could be made so that all piglins can pick up items, but baby piglins will be more interested and therefore have a larger detection range. Second, players can steal these items, so the piglins should alert other piglins nearby about the thief, possibly with a cascade effect (imagine oliver twist). Other piglins would be able to steal too, which should have a simmilar effect, although since they seem to distrust players blame could be put onto them. Finally, this was origionally a comment i posted on a related suggestion. Since it got a lot of upvotes, im posting it here since people seemed to like it. Here are some concerns people had: Q: Can't this be farmed/abused(using hoppers) to get free items? First of all, these are items in their inventory, so they would run out quickly. Second of all, they drop all items in their inventory upon death anyways. Here are a few effects that I think this would have on the game. First of all, it would make players keep on their toes, as picking up one of these items will have you swarmed by piglins. Second, it would help build on the piglins somewhat brutish appearance, as fights from theft would be somewhat common. Seeing them barter would also help distinguish them from other monsters, as they are basically the villagers of the nether, some form of social activity, such as hunting parties (in vanilla) and bartering (this suggestion) should occur. Sound and music designers should get a special cape Posted: 15 Jun 2020 03:01 PM PDT Minecraft would be incomplete were it not for these people creating the great sounds and music that this game has. They deserve a reward for this. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jun 2020 03:56 PM PDT Glowstone has the same breaking sound as glass and it has always slightly bothered me. Since we are getting a Nether update, why not update this old sound? :) I got the idea from the new sounds from the Shroom light and how awesome they sound! Hopefully someone sees this lol [link] [comments] |
Tone block - for longer musical notes Posted: 15 Jun 2020 05:21 AM PDT Noteblocks are great, but they are restricted to a short timed note in a nonadjustable volume. Therefore another block is needed to accompany the noteblocks, and it's the tone block. How does it work? It's simple: Length - The tone block plays the note as long as it is powered by redstone Volume - Determined by the signal strength [link] [comments] |
A music disc that makes ghasts neutral Posted: 15 Jun 2020 02:41 AM PDT The disc would be called "ghastly lullaby" and you can find them in nether fortresses or bastions. When played it makes all the ghasts in the area neutral. The music sounds like a soothing lullaby as the name suggests. Once the disc stops ghasts get hostile again. I think this should get added in a form cuz ghasts are annoying as hell. They aren't really hard to defeat, but damage your surroundings all the time and spawn everywhere in soulsand valleys. Posted: 15 Jun 2020 09:18 AM PDT Enchanting a tool with Mending should give an advancement called "Heal yourself, Hurt others" (bad name, srry) but putting mending on a tool should give an advancement, being in Minecraft category, since mending is incredibly useful and almost obrigatory (my opinion) to beat the game. Any addition on idea for this, send in the comments. I'll try answering all of them :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jun 2020 08:10 AM PDT I think that while exploring, there should be something like a traveler's inn where people can spend the night or replenish on supplies. These structures should be fairly rare with a variation in most biomes. The inn should have two rooms with beds on the second floor and a small dining area with a bar where there is a new villager called the Bartender, who sells food like mushroom stew and rabbit stew, and other food items for emeralds. There should also be a chest containing a map of the area and some common items such as coal, small food items, and (maybe?) armor(basically a loot table from any village chest, except a blacksmith). This is a rough idea so suggestions are welcome. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jun 2020 07:04 AM PDT I posted a post about an Asian-based based biome called the Mystical cliffs. This is a sort of similar biome, inspired by the himalayas. Same as in my other post, peaches would grow in peach trees on this biome, except these trees would be covered in snow. There would also be plum trees, which same as peach and apple trees would drop a plum after breaking leaves, which is basically an equivalent to peaches and apples. On these trees however, there would be a new mob, the red panda. These would spawn in tree tops, because these trees would be larger and with branches or maybe they would spawn on top of the tree´s leaves. They would have AI similar to foxes, but with a different appearance, and would also sleep with their tails curled around their body. They could be tamed with bamboo, plums and peaches, and could be fed these things. They would sleep with the player. Like pandas, they could have a different appearance sometimes, like sick and with their toung sticking out, but with less appearances than pandas. They could also climb trees and sleep on treetops. They would play with foxes, like baby villagers play tag with each other, but would not kill chickens. The mountains would be snowy and very tall and conical, and another new mob coud be added, the Yak, which could be milked with a bowl and give you yak milk, which can cure hearts. They could be fed wheat and hay bales, and could also be ride-able with a saddle. Please tell me what you think about this post! [link] [comments] |
Enchantment/curse of attraction Posted: 15 Jun 2020 05:19 AM PDT This would come as a curse or a enchantment. For example, you could find a tunic with "curse of attraction" on it, or you could enchant a tunic with "enchantment of attraction". They're different. Enchantment of attraction would slowly lure passive mobs towards you. You could also put it on an armor stand and passive mobs would be lured to that. Curse of attraction would lure all hostile mobs towards you, same with armor stands. [link] [comments] |
'Reach' Enchantment for all tools (shovel, axe, sword, pickaxe, and hoes) Posted: 15 Jun 2020 09:52 AM PDT This enchantment could come in 3 levels, each level increasing the maximum distance a player could hit with a tool by 1 block. To counter how OP this would be, the weapon could have a much longer cooldown period (maybe 2 seconds in between each hit) [link] [comments] |
People need to start following rule 3 a lot more closely. Posted: 14 Jun 2020 05:54 PM PDT Just this week, scrolling through the sub, I've seen posts like "Add weddings" or "Fallen Kingdom advancement" or a very ludicrous one, "Dragon egg omelette". These posts, and many, many others don't just break rule 3, they absolutely destroy it. Here's a simple thing to think about when posting: What would Mojang do? Don't get me wrong, I've seen great suggestions that are far, far off from Mojang's style, but it's a great start. Even better, read the "How To Suggest" guide! There's a reason it's shown every time you write a post. TL;DR, the subreddit has been flooded with rule 3-breaking posts, and we need to do something about it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jun 2020 03:07 PM PDT I think, once in a while, there should be solar eclipses. Just like in real life, there would be a "360° sunset" and the sky would be really dark, but you wouldnt be able to sleep through it. Maybe there could be some special rare mobs that could spawn during those eclipses as well. The eclipses wouldnt last very long (maybe a minute or two) and would happen very rarely, but i think this type of rare special event could bring in some hype and fun and theres nothing like this currently in the game.
