Minecraft Bi-Weekly Build Challenge #101: War Posted: 05 Jul 2020 07:11 AM PDT LAST WEEK'S THEME: CLASH OF THE UPDATESGoldAn absolutely stunning build depicting marine wildlife and the update aquatic. I loved how, although it was upscaled and you didn't use the actual mobs from update aquatic (as in you didn't spawn in fish), I could immediately tell you were trying to make those types of fish. Although they might be a little different, they were close enough that I knew exactly what you were trying to do. The landscape underwater was very well made and the hills in the background did well to fill in the rest of your build. Stunning build, great job! SilverI loved the simplicity of these builds. I feel we have all come to expect large, grand builds with buttons everywhere and trapdoors, etc. And don't get me wrong, those builds are amazing. But, there's something charming and beautiful about a build which does none of those things and manages to look just as good. I feel you picked a perfect block for it too. Concrete/Terracotta is, in my opinion, the easiest to make the flat buildings with, possibly because they're so colourful. Small complaint with the build though. I feel you could have added more colour in it. You had a couple bland buildings with sandstone and white terracotta. I feel another concrete building would have just drilled i nthe colour update a little more. Awesome build though! BronzeSomething about the first images threw me off, with the somewhat chaotic 1.4.2 update and the extremely large and (in my opinion) bare redstone update room. However, as soon as I hit the 1.6 update room and onward, I loved what you did. Any feedback I could have given you for those first rooms, it seems like you did them on the others. I love how the cart weaves in and out of the different features in each update. I also really liked the variation between rooms. None of them seemed like replicas of the others and had builds that reflected the update itself, which is what it should have been. Great job! Honourable mentions IntroductionThere were many wars on earth, with some taking place thousands of years before now, and others still ongoing. Although it's sad that so many people have lost their lives fighting sometimes pointless battles, it's best we never forget what happened, so we don't repeat it again. This week, we will be building some builds based off of these wars. With no limitations of which you choose, there can be many different aesthetics people can choose. So whether you build a scene from one of the world wars, or go back further to the time of ancient Rome, that is up to you! Let's get building! Inspiration Scene of war from 1917, the movie/arc-anglerfish-arc2-prod-mco.s3.amazonaws.com/public/IHHE7XVR3RDLTISJUWCYPXZLBE.png) ChallengeThank you to the many people who suggested this, or something similar, last week! War Build something with the theme of war. This can be from any era you choose. It doesn't have to necessarily depict a battle and could depict a town/city after a battle (or the war). Rules
