When Shulkers are hiding in their shells make it so pickaxes do more damage Posted: 24 Aug 2020 08:23 AM PDT So you mine the shells as in a shulker box with a pickaxe the fastest so it make sense if that's the shell's weakness, when the shulker is out in the open than the sword does drastically more damage. Desert and Badlands skies should turn dusty orangish-brown when thunderstorms occur in other biomes. Posted: 23 Aug 2020 09:15 PM PDT This would be a simpler, less destructive and less annoying way to implement Dust storms. Currently, desert skies turn grey and lightning hits in random spots when thunderstorms occur in other biomes. It would be cool if it turned dusty orangish-brown instead, giving a stormy dusty effect. This wouldn't cause any destructive or undesirable effect to the player. Lightning would still occur and hit in random spots like they do currently ingame, this would be similar to real life sandstorms as they also do generate lightning . This would only happen during thunderstorms, because it would be strange to have Duststorms occuring as frequently as Rain and Snow in other biomes. The sky colour would of course be darker at night. Posted: 24 Aug 2020 05:11 AM PDT The desert biome has been pretty bland, except for villages, wells, and temples, but even it has those, it's still pretty bland. It has some potential for a good biome, but it's pretty blank rn so yeah. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Aug 2020 10:14 AM PDT So we have sunken ships in the game. But how did they get there? I propose private ships to be added. They will be dotted around in the ocean and have pillagers on board as 'Pirates'. They also have loot chests. just a quick suggestion and haven't thought trough it much. What do you think? Posted: 24 Aug 2020 07:56 AM PDT Mini biomes, as the name suggests, are smaller sub-biomes that can be found across the world. They can be biome specific, or spawn in most biomes. ExamplesOasis: The Oasis would be exclusive to deserts, and would be about 15 to 40 blocks big (as in the length of each size, not the total area). The palm trees coming in a future update could spawn here. Ditch: A ditch would spawn in all biomes except for taigas, snowy plains, and other cold biomes. They would be small holes in the ground, with coarse dirt scattered around them, unless they are in a sandy biome. Canyon: Canyons would be found exclusively in Badlands, and would be quite similar to ravines. Unlike ravines, Canyons would be made of terracotta, and often have a small rive at the bottom. Lava cannot spawn in Canyons. Glade: Glades would spawn in all forest biomes (Except jungles). There would be no trees in them, and often have dirt and coarse dirt on the floor. Mushroom Rings can spawn here, and they can have loot under them. Mossy coast: Mossy coasts can spawn rarely along the coast, replacing beaches. They are more common on the coast of mountains and, especially, snowy biomes. They are made of mossy stone and cobblestone. Infected Forest: Infected Forests occasionally spawn when crimson and warped forests border each other. They have yellow mushrooms, nylium, and wood. Existing structures, and possible new structures, could be mini biomes as well, such as villages. [link] [comments] |
The beach update! Mojang, this’d be epic Posted: 24 Aug 2020 07:49 AM PDT This is a mega post of the stuff me and u/-1BrainCells have said about a post of what could be added to a beach update, so don't forget that a lot of the credit for these ideas go to him, I have included some other ideas that would be great by other people in the community too! minecraft beaches are bland, if you can even see them there, so,let's give them a great update! In general the strech of beaches would be longer and we would get varying sizes of them, the beaches could maybe look a little smoother with Sand layers one of the coolest features of this update would be the pirates: Have you seen systemzee' s videos on a Pirate illager? Here they are: https://www.youtube.com/watch? And v=FvneObatJQwhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZfnD4ao1oE. in his concept he made them look like villagers rather than illagers which I would change, otherwise I love the concepts! They could have crew members and a captain. Crew members would wear scrappy clothes and a bandanna, and the captain would wear nice clothes and a trifold cap. they would sometimes have pet parrots and gold earrings. occasional eyepatches, scars, and peg legs. (i'd imagine they would have some sort of algorithm to give them unique skins like tropical fish.) Crew members would all have hooks for hands and would attack with those. They would shoot cannon balls out of dispensers on the ship. The captain would also have a bit of a beard and a cutlass. They would actually be neutral but have some pretty good loot in the map room and captain's quarters so you might wanna take it. This would probably be too similar to piglins but maybe if you give em' a gold nugget they'll let you aboard. Don't be snooping in the booty though. Different ships would have different color clothes and flags and would sometimes face off with each other (for example a ship could have crew members with blue bandanas and a navy blue-coated captain, but another boat could have black colors). I love the iron golem in systemzee's video so much because it has a bandanna too! maybe you could get two new weapons as well, the hook and cutlass. also u/TriPpycheesE__ told me a great idea for the cannon crafting recipe, on the left a dispenser, under it a wooden stair block, in front of the dispenser gunpowder and then iron bars on the top and bottom right and middle blocks Maybe if you defeat the pirates, you can get their working ship so we can have what the community has wanted for a long time now, I haven't found a really good concept for how this would work yet, so try to just imagine. Maybe there could be a very rare structure which is a giant ship that would generate in the middle of nowhere in the ocean, however this ship would just be a stationary build so it's not game breaking or anything. It would have more enemies and they would be stronger but it would have better loot. I would love to see some good animations from the pirates like to get to you they jump up and slide down the ropes. How about a special pirated omen when you plunder an entire ship then more ships of same colors would appear at your shores and be tryin to steal yer head! (once you kill and rob a certain amount of ships they could appear and come after you! kinda like how the raid works. If you reach say maybe and island or a shore or something they could come after you) And a kinda skull island beach where lots of skeleton pirates (pretty easy to figure out) live and they aren't putting up with any of you and are automatically hostile. It would look burnt and scorched with boiling water nearby. Basalt would be found there and if we want to contribute to the more gold in badlands variation kinda thing more coal could be found here. there could be a giant skull made out of stone, and you could go through the mouth into a labyrinth kind of cave system/dungeon. It could have traps and a big chest of treasure (double chest with good loot) that could maybe cause some mobs to appear and start attacking you in giant swarms of zombies/skeletons There could also be beach villages that use thatch roofs that look like hay bale stairs. The jungle illagers would also be here from my Jungle update post but would have their own beach temple and still be small little tribal things and would terrorize unique villages. These would variant raids which would be pretty cool. Coconuts could be player head sized and hang from palm trees but when the tree gets a block update one coconut will fall and damage the player. Could be used in some pretty cool ways. And the palm tree wood could have a new type of wood, maybe a more beige/paler shade of birch wood. Here i think the bark texture looks perfect but yeah a paler wood would be nice. the leaves could be similar to those big cartoonish ones you always see. I know there are some crab posts out there so Here is a good one, i think they could look like the model in the quark mod. Also the crabs could pinch their claws and scoot from side to side to the two new music discs: a reggae instrumental and a jolly pirate theme like yo ho! A pirates life for me. also This jellyfish concept is absolutely awesome! They would be cool to see in this update as well! I think it would also encourage players to search the oceans/islands more, since all we have now is underwater ruins and temples which are underwater but not really anything to make players explore islands. Posted: 24 Aug 2020 12:34 PM PDT Show biome borders would be a keyboard shortcut that would show the borders of a biome, similar to show chunk borders. [link] [comments] |
So, the Smithing Table has no reason existing. Let's give it one Posted: 24 Aug 2020 10:29 AM PDT As it currently stands, all of the functionality Smithing Table has could be taken up by the Crafting Table or the Anvil with little to no difference in gameplay. What I'd suggest to fix this is to make it the designated "upgrade" block that gives access to a new upgrade tree. At the moment, all it does is change Diamond gear to Netherite gear. This concept can be expanded upon to make more variations of tools and items, all made through the Smithing Table. For example: Diamond item + Netherite Ingot = Netherite item. Following on from that, we could have: Netherite item + Gold Ingot = Guilded Netherite item. This Guilded Netherite has slightly different properties from the original Netherite, namely, Piglins won't attack you on sight, or you have to get closer for them to aggro. But this is far from the only possibility, e.g. Diamond item + Emerald = Emerald item. This could be a purely aesthetic change, so functionally it's Diamond armour, but it looks like it's made of Emeralds. This idea is not limited to tools and armour. For example: Compass + Netherite Ingot = North Compass. This compass points North. Not world spawn, not player spawn, North. For those who can be bothered to check, here is a link to a .zip file download. The .zip contains .txt files that will expand on this with more examples. Thanks for reading and I hope I've earned your vote! [link] [comments] |
Rain shouldn’t stop when going into a desert or badlands biome Posted: 24 Aug 2020 07:39 AM PDT I think that when crossing into a desert or badlands, that the rain doesn't just stop in its tracks. I want it to fade away as you go into the dry biomes [link] [comments] |
'Shiny' ores like diamonds should have an animation that makes them appear to glint in the light Posted: 24 Aug 2020 12:44 PM PDT Why else should this be added? Now with many blocks with animations, I feel like giving ores like emerald and diamond subtle but logical ones would be a nice addition to the game. Giving some of the rarer ores unique appearances will make the eventual finding of them a more wonderful experience, especially for newer players. Lastly, the animation should only affect the mineral parts of the ore themselves, so it isn't too obvious and ugly. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Aug 2020 11:10 AM PDT Combining any Music Disc with Soul Sand in a Crafting Table would give a corrupted music disc. The Music Disc would look the exact same as it's normal counterpart as an item(Meh,it could look different, that'd be cool too, I guess) When a Corrupted Music Disc would be played on a Jukebox. The Music would get distorted as well. The track would reverberate, play out of loop and sound grainy. Disturbing Static noises and Screeches could be heard in the Background. Discs 11 and 13,along with Pigstep would be Unaffected by the Corruption. How does this Sound? [link] [comments] |
When creating a world, you can set the speed of day/night cycle to up to four times as slow. Posted: 24 Aug 2020 11:37 AM PDT A full day/night cycle in minecraft is 20 minutes in real time, making day last about 10 minutes. Making it a fourth as fast makes each last about 40 minutes, a total of 80 minutes of real time. For people who just woke up from bed and want to build, this 10 minute time to do so is annoying. I mine a small amount of Obsidian, and bam it's night already. I understand that night (and the monsters spawning in it) is part of minecraft, which is why this ALSO makes night longer. So while there's more safe time during the day, you also have to worry about a longer night (if your world had that setting). Phantoms also spawn after about one day of not sleeping. Remember that 20 minutes is a day, 60 minutes is 3 days, so after most the night with the longest time settings, phantoms spawn. You still have ample opportunity to sleep during this time, so it's not really unfair. [link] [comments] |
The Upcoming Frogs should have a Tropical Poisonous Jungle Variant Posted: 24 Aug 2020 01:27 AM PDT Frogs are confirmed to be added to Minecraft in the future, as stated by Mojang in the Biome Vote 2019. These frogs will be a new mob for Swamps, but I feel like they would also fit in Jungles. I also see a possibility for this since they added an Arctic variant for normal foxes who also happen to have been a part of the Taiga in the Biome Vote 2018, the biome which won and got us these adorable foxes. Though Jungles are already filled with many content, features, and wildlife, Jungles lack exclusive danger of their own. In real life, there are a lot of dangers that you have to look out for when exploring Jungles, like mosquitoes and other dangerous insects, venomous and poisonous animals, thorny and harmful plants, and diseases. However, in Minecraft, it seems that the Taiga biome is more dangerous (wild wolves, shade for hostile mobs, thorny bushes) than Jungles whose only exclusive danger is the thick foliage making it difficult to traverse through, as well as shade for hostile mobs. Frogs would make a great obstacle mob for the Jungle biomes of Minecraft. Another reason why they should also be in Jungles is because, though Jungles have a lot of wild animals, much of these are hairy, furry, or feathery. Minecraft Jungles seem to lack smaller reptile, amphibian, and insect animals, which are abundant in real life Jungles. These jungle variant frogs would be poisonous and bright-coloured. They would be the ''pufferfishes of the tropical jungles'', which also happen to spawn in tropical sea biomes and coral reefs. Though these poisonous frogs would deal a shorter poison effect (about 5 seconds) than pufferfishes and won't deal damage upon contact, unlike pufferfishes. Like pufferfishes, they would also be noticeably uncommon (as it will be annoying to frequently accidentally step on these and get poison effect as you explore the Jungles, if they are common). Though these critters might be annoying as I described earlier, they would also provide a benefit for Players in the jungle. These critters would be a cheaper way to poison tip arrows, which would be useful in early parts of the survival gameplay. Though you won't tip the arrows by hurting and hitting these poor critters :(, you can tip your arrows with poisonous frogs by right clicking them with your arrow (toggle button for Mobile Bedrock). This would prevent players from killing them or hurting them ingame since these frogs are endangered in real life. However there's a limit to how many times you should be able to tip your arrows with one frog. You can only tip your arrow on one frog 3 (or 5, or any other number that would be better and balanced) times, and they would only be able to provide poison tip for arrows after a specific number of days, after a specific number of times of doing the stretching tongue animation (seen in the biome vote video), after being splashed with the potion of poison, or whatever would be better and more balanced. Thanks for reading my suggestion, I wish you a Great and Bright Day! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Aug 2020 09:43 AM PDT Desert biomes are very empty and I find that adding quicksand will make deserts more interesting and dangerous! [link] [comments] |
New Deathmessage- <player> has been sneaked Posted: 24 Aug 2020 11:13 AM PDT Heres how it works: Lets say you are just minding your own business, when suddenly you get killed by another player or mob. You've just been sneaked. You can stop reading here, but if you are still confused, let me explain how it would happen. The message would only occur if you are facing the opposite direction of the opponent and they land the first hit. Only then the message would appear. If you are AFK, then the message would be: <player>(the person who killed you) was playing dirty. I'll admit it is on the dumber side of the suggestions, but I thought the message was funny. So yeah. Posted: 24 Aug 2020 11:19 AM PDT A pillager ship will be like the out post but In water. It will have a new pillager named the pillager captain. The pillager captain will have a sword and if you kill home you get bad omen. The ship will have at least 4 chest. 2 of the chest will have food and the other 2 will have normal pillager loot. This would make the surface of the ocean more fun. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Aug 2020 12:21 PM PDT Hello, I'm thinking of turpentine as a kind of bleach. It could turn white coloured wools/carpets, banners (in a single use), leather clothes, beds, shields and erase maps. There are more items I don't think about (but not concrete or terracotta in my opinion). Spirit of turpentine or turpentine bottles (I don't know the correct designation in English) would be made in brewing stand, from spruce sapling and water (or perhaps thick potion). May could it be store in cauldron two, in order to make some kind of "washing machine". Thank you for reading this. [link] [comments] |
There should be more sea life! Posted: 24 Aug 2020 08:10 AM PDT Ok, I know what your gonna say "but OP you do realise there was the Update aquatic " and yes, of course I know about that, that update revolutionised the once barren seas, but there's little life down there. Sure there's turtles, squids, fish, coral..etc, but other than that, not much else so what I think would be a great addition would be some aggressive mobs in the sea,and you my fellow minecrafters nerds should know that there's an enchantment known as "impaling" that deals more damage to sea creatures (drowned excluded) and if the devs add marine life that will be aggressive towards you it will give an incentive to actually get the enchantment because think about the last time you thought it would be useful to you. So you may be asking, what do we implement to the game? Well that's up to the devs entirely, but if it was me I'd add: sharks(of course), sea snakes, stone fish, you name it! (And we're just brushing over the possibilities of marine plants and amphibious creatures) honestly I think this will be amazing and bring a WHOLE new feeling to exploring the oceans. Devs I'd like to see your opinions on this and if anyone wants to add on to what we could add to the oceans leave a comment on the post I'd be more than happy to see it! Ty for reading my post (hope it didn't take long since I basically was on a ramble...) :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Aug 2020 10:45 AM PDT This is going to be very short since it's a really simple idea. With the Nether Update, we were introduced to Netherite, which became the best armor you can get. In my opinion, Netherite is not entirely important. Its main benefit is that it has stronger durability. So then I thought, "What if this was expanded upon?" The idea is that we could have more ores (Ruby, Copper, Silver, etc.) that could be used in a Smithing Table with Diamond or Iron (Iron could be used in a Smithing Table with Copper) to give a benefit like Netherite. Silver Ore could give you the benefit of running slightly faster. You would be given a Speed effect, but instead of being Speed I, it would be something like Speed 0.3 or 0.5. This could also work as just a cosmetic benefit, and nothing else. This is a really open idea, and I think it has potential. Feel free to change whatever you want about this idea. EDIT: I also hope with this change that Smithing Tables will be mined with pickaxes and not axes. Also if we really want to stretch the limits, Quartz can be like Netherite for gold. Smelt Soul Sand Into Regular Sand Posted: 24 Aug 2020 02:01 PM PDT Sand is a boring resource to acquire, digging monotonously for hours on end. The insta-mine is fun the first few times, but the novelty quickly wears off. Plus it leaves deserts in a state, especially on servers. Unfortunately, Sand is necessary to make both glass and concrete, which players often need large numbers of So what's the solution? Allow Soul Sand to be smelted into regular Sand in a furnace as a sort of purge for those "Souls" inside. Since Soul Sand is acquirable from piglin bartering, this would be an easy way to make sand fully renewable and allow opportunity for automation. This addition wouldn't affect players who chose to dig, but it would be fantastic for more technical players interested in automation. It would also make sand duping unnecessary. [link] [comments] |
Fire resistance beacons should be a thing Posted: 24 Aug 2020 07:32 AM PDT Make it a top-tier upgrade like regeneration. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Aug 2020 01:59 PM PDT It would start off by default but if you wanted you could toggle it on. Pretty simple. [link] [comments] |
Baby Piglins should be able to barter, but the item set is different Posted: 23 Aug 2020 11:00 PM PDT Children aren't trusted with fire charges, but maybe they explored around and picked some warped/crimson fungi. Maybe they could trade something useful that the adult version doesn't, it would make the mechanic a little more interesting. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Aug 2020 10:05 AM PDT I've played MC on my phone for so long that I don't need to see the controls anymore. Because of muscle memory I know exactly where to tap, so it would be super convenient to have an option to make them invisible. This would also be great for recording videos on mobile, because videos on mobile look horrid with the controls. Please add this as a feature Mojang. [link] [comments] |
