Ancient seeds and plants from paleontology Posted: 24 Nov 2020 04:52 AM PST Unique plants and seeds being drops from paleontology. There are so many cool types of plants you could get from this idea solely. One of my ideas is "ancient wheat". A type of plant that is basically a downgraded version of wheat, like a unmodified version of a plant. It would drop 0-1 wheat, and have a slightly longer "destruction time" than normal wheat, making it a very bad crop to farm. It is though, very hardy and can grow onto many types of natural blocks, specifically, grass, dirt, podzol, coarse dirt, sand(if it has water by the block) and every mossy stone variant. It doesn't grow on farmland, though, the farmland's just too wet for it. Now being a crop that is outplayed by OG wheat, it's only upside is that it can grow in many spaces and also not fear of the local cow stomping it to death. However, I feel it's main use would be portraying the enviroment that prehistoric minecraft could've been, a dry, barren place that only the toughest plants could survive. As a fan of plants and ancient stuff, I really hope mojang adds something like this! It would help a lot in giving more world "lore"! This is also the closest we may get to having something like jurassic park. [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Nov 2020 04:45 PM PST I've run into this issue a ton when building. Corner stair blocks can only be corner shaped if there is another stair next to it. Removing this requirement, I feel, would create a swath of opportunities for builders, from new types of table legs to increased sculptural detail to new roof designs to interesting floor patterns...etc. I'm guessing this is a quality of life feature made for players who misplace a stair block, thereby reverting the stair they did want placed to a corner. But I figure it would be a simple matter of just breaking the original stair block and replacing it if they didn't want it to be a corner. I don't know if the developers at Mojang actually look at this sub, but I know they look at the Minecraft feedback site. If you like this idea, perhaps consider voting for it over there. https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360074484631-Isolated-corner-stairs [link] [comments]
librarians should lecture nitwits Posted: 24 Nov 2020 09:43 AM PST since the nitwits sleep all day and act dumb like stomping on farms, the smart librarians should lecture the nitwits about what they are doing and that it is wrong and make them read books to become normal villagers (unemployed, but can get a job) from reading a book to get knowledge [link] [comments]
Charred Bones (Wither Skeleton bones) Posted: 24 Nov 2020 08:42 AM PST I find it weird that wither skeletons drop regular, white bones. So I feel like they should drop "charred bones", black bones. These would be super useful, they can be turned into soul bonemeal, this can be used to make crops grow SUPER FAST, and now just on a single block, they sort of work in a radius. Pretty cool IMO. They would also have Charred Bone Block, because there's bone blocks so this only makes sense [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Nov 2020 09:48 AM PST What are the Ancient Islands? The Ancient Islands would be a very rare biome that would not be able to spawn more than 10k blocks from the origin (except on single-biome worlds where they're chosen as the biome). They'd generate like an Alpha world and contain many ruins built with Alpha blocks. All mobs would have their original appearances. For instance, pigs would be cross-eyed and spiders would have brown fur and black eyes. How do I get there? They can be found by randomly exploring more than 10k blocks in any direction from the origin, but this would take a while due to their extreme rarity. A more reliable method would be found in archeological dig sites. There, you can find three books with three puzzles. Solving these puzzles would give you the coordinates of a random block in an Ancient Islands biome. What's the point? When you first enter an Ancient Island, a Giant will spawn. Giants would deal 10 hearts of damage on normal, but they'd drop a lot of experience when killed. After killing your first giant, they'd become a lot rarer. Besides giants, another perk of the Ancient Islands is that the sand that spawns can be used to make TNT which is detonated upon being punched. This would make Netherite mining (and whatever else you do with TNT) a bit easier. Finally, rubies can only be found here. By encrusting an enchanting table with four gold on the corners and four rubies, you can make enchants cost less XP, be more likely to be of higher levels, but require more experience points. Though rubies are probably confirmed as a dead idea, so pretend this paragraph doesn't exist. [link] [comments]

A way to make our own music discs in game via survival means. Posted: 24 Nov 2020 07:50 AM PST I mean we have a ton of artistic communities in our big minecraft community everything from redstone wizards who can make almost anything we can irl and more on top of that, to even people so skilled at placing blocks they can make a literal 3d image on a piece of digital paper, yet we can't make a proper sound track in game? sure we have note blocks but it often involves a massive redstone contraption that can lag a server when it is played and you need to run or ride a horse just to keep up and hear the whole song. so few people ever mess with a note block in survival because of that. but i have an idea, what if we could make our own music discs in game? it would work something like this, First a blank music disc is crafted (when put into a jukebox right now it plays nothing) but you put the blank music disc into a new hand held item and click the use button it begins recording whatever sound effects play near the player. then you start your note block contraption or stand there as a friend plays on some note blocks. once your done press the use button again and it will stop recording and a prompt to name the music disc will appear on screen you name the disc and it ejects the finished disc. this disc can then be taken to a crafting table and combined with more blank discs like a book and create copies of the original. these discs will have the name of the artist in sub titles below the title of the disc like music disc or a book in game right now. when you put the disc in a jukebox, it then plays the audio file you created like a normal disc. there would be a max recording time. minecraft is a game all about customization and creativity, but i wonder why we cant make custom music discs often. what dose the community say about this? p.s. if you like the idea can some one post it to minecraft theories for me? my account is broke. Posted: 24 Nov 2020 08:37 AM PST In the Nether Update we got the ability to find local food by killing hoglins. So I think in this new Cave Update, we should be able to find food underground, especially since people will be spending more time there. My suggestion is truffles, a block that looks like a dirt block with dark, brown spots in it, like an ore. But when you break it, gives you 1-3 truffles. Truffles would restore 3 hunger points, and would spawn directly underneath trees, like in real life. Only in certain trees, tho. Bonus: in real life, hogs are used to find truffles. So I have a master idea: so you know how in the Nether 1 block is 8 blocks in the Overworld? Well, if you feed a hoglin a crimson fungus and there's no other hoglin to mate, they will guide you to a specific coordinate. You make a portal on that coordinate, and you pop out on a truffle tree. Pretty cool idea, especially since right now that mechanic of the 1-8 block radius is only used for transportation. An alternative to this would be just use a regular pig. Especially since right now carrots on a stick are sort of useless. Truffles: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truffle Truffle hogs: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truffle_hog Edit: spelling [link] [comments]
Make Chainmail Armor more useful Posted: 24 Nov 2020 12:23 PM PST Currently, chainmail armor is the only non-craftable armor in the game, and it does not have any advantages over the craftable types of armor. I'm suggesting that chainmail armor needs a buff since it cannot be crafted. Since chainmail is made of metal, I'm suggesting that chainmail could protect the player more from projectiles, even without any enchantments on. Additionally, instead of using iron ingots to repair chainmail armor, using chains to repair chainmail armor makes much more sense. [link] [comments]
End Mask, upgrade to the pumpkin Posted: 24 Nov 2020 10:23 AM PST So, pumpkins are pretty much the only way that I know of to stop endermen from annoying you. However, they are really annoying to wear. So, what I'm proposing is an item that allows you to safely look at endermen without constricting your vision to much. It would either be found in End Cities or crafted from materials in End Cities. If it were to be crafted, I would have it use 5 end silk (Or something like that) in a helmet formation, then in the center an eye of ender. When worn, everything would either have a slightly purple tint, or have the effect when you're looking through an Enderman's eyes. When worn, the item would cover the character's entire head and have a visor on the front. Think of tusken raiders from Star Wars. [link] [comments]
An Upgrade to the Fire Charge: Volatile Fire Charge Posted: 24 Nov 2020 10:55 AM PST The Volatile Fire Charge is basically the same fireballs launched by Ghast's, and since we already can make Blaze Fireballs, why not craft explosive Ghast Fireballs? Volatile Fire Charges are crafted by surrounding 8 Fire Charges around a block of TNT, outputting 4 Volatile Fire Charges. Why I say the output is 4 to keep it balanced and it kinda make sense that 2 charges fuse into one, so 8 charges fused into 4 and got their firepower ramped up. You cannot manually rupture a Volatile Fire Charge, they can only be fired from a dispenser. Be careful with these things, they may have much lower power than TNT, but would spread fires. They would make a great assault weapon against someones base, provided their base is weaker than stone. I am still deciding if one can reflect a Volatile Fire Charge like a Ghast Fireball or not. Anyone here interested in this constructive suggestion? [link] [comments]
Guardian of the Nether Fortress, the Flare Sentry Posted: 24 Nov 2020 03:06 PM PST A miniboss that spawns in the Nether Fortress, they stand 3 blocks tall, and are made of Nether Brick and Blackstone, with lava coursing through the crevices of their exterior. Their chest has a large hole in it, filled with lava. They wield a large Shield and a large Netherite Sword as their weapon. Only one spawns per Nether Fortress, and they will never leave the Fortress they spawn in. As long as they wander the Fortress, mobs that spawn there will drop nothing but experience. If you want to continue to the End, you have to fight the Flare Sentry, and they won't go down easy. Flare Knights can block any attack with their Shield, can do a vertical slash to break blocks and disable Shields, and can rally Blazes to fight with it. Defeating one doesn't come without a reward, however, as it will always drop a Netherite Scrap when killed, and mobs will begin to drop items again. The reason that this should be in the game is that it is to easy to get to the End. All you need is Blaze Powder and Ender Pearls. There needs to be more of a challenge to get to the end of the game. The ruined castle walls from the tutorial world should become a terrain feature Posted: 23 Nov 2020 11:23 PM PST Console players, think back to the christmas where The End was updated, and we got Elytras. The tutorial world of that era, was based upon elytra (the map was suited for flight) But the most interesting feature was the layout of it all, specifically, the ruined towers. Upon closer inspection, we can see that the towers actually line up to trace or give you an idea of where enormous walls used to be. Maybe these towers can spawn randomly, and rarely, they can trace out the inner or outer walls. [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Nov 2020 09:57 AM PST so, silverfishes are actually just a way to get XP, what if a drop from them was added so this drop could be used to make potions, and those potions could reveal nearby minerals, this may need to make a different sistem for the silverfishes spawning, but, may be usefull for those people who spends a lot of time getting 1 diamond vein, the potion may only show iron and coal, but if upgraded to glowstone it'll show gold and diamond, this can be nerfed by adding a 4x4 or minus max distance to reveal ores Edit: Just in case i'll put a link to the feeback post so you all can vote [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Nov 2020 11:06 AM PST Make different sized sailboats, and let you customize them a little. You know, furnaces, crafting tables, animal pens, etc. Give a wind direction that changes depending on the ocean biome, and make sea exploring more fun [link] [comments]
Copper should be used to make wrenches Posted: 24 Nov 2020 10:39 AM PST People have always wanted a survival version of debug sticks, and I think copper would be the best material to make it out of. They already seem to be going for a sort of mechanical motif for it, based off the blocks and lightning rods, so I think it'd make sense. [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Nov 2020 11:40 PM PST The block can be anything. When used, it will give the x y and z coordinates for the specified block. If there are multiple blocks, it will give the coordinate of the block that is closest to the player. If the block is not in a loaded chunk, it will say: "Could not find the specified block." Example: Input - /locateblock diamond_ore, Output: The nearest diamond ore is at x y z , v blocks away [link] [comments]
Make proximity to water affect the rate of copper corrosion Posted: 24 Nov 2020 12:06 PM PST As the title suggests, I believe that the rate at which copper type blocks tarnish should be affected by: - Proximity to water due to resultant moisture in the air - Submersion within water - Rain - Biome temperature The effect should also be magnified if it's within any biomes that would contain salt water as opposed to regular, and biome temp should also factor. Naturally this would not apply to waxed variants. Edited to add part about temperature. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Nov 2020 11:08 AM PST I don't know if anyone's done this yet, but I saw a modpack with different colored lamps, and I thought about how cool it would be to have redstone lamps like that in vanilla minecraft. You could do the fog effect thing without using as much stained glass or having to deal with lava, you could have lighting that gives builds different moods or matches the color scheme, etc. This could be implemented in a lot of ways. Maybe you right click on a placed redstone lamp with dye, or maybe you add dye or stained glass to the crafting recipe. [link] [comments] |
