Posted: 03 Nov 2020 03:33 AM PST I feel like the dogs in this game are kind of useless. I mean they defend the player when they are attacked but only attack when the player wacks something. All they do is follow you or sit in the spot players put them. Which usually ends up being where they stay lol. This is my first post and I've gone over the rules so if anything has been posted before I'll remove the post if they are too similar. I tried to keep stuff simple and not make it feel like it wouldn't be in minecraft. Dog beds Bowl Use Simple Commands Dog BedsDog beds are better way to have dogs stay put. I mean I don't tell my dog to sit down when its bedtime. "Alright Jack it's bed time go sit down" Dogs sleep too right? Anyways, dogs following you can be told to go to a bed and stay there. Left click on a bed and boom that's their spot. If more than one dog is following you it will choose the dog closest to you and make it their bed. Or you could just tell em to sit down and do it one by one. They would be able to sleep on their beds at night instead of sitting on them and would wake up in the morning to await their masters command. A dog bed would be similar to slabs and could be placed next to other beds to make more room for other dogs. There would be a limit on the size and exceeding this limit wouldn't allow you to place a dog bed around a 1 or 2 block radius. Bed size could go up to a 2x2 and maybe a 3x3 but that might be too much. If a dog is in a bed you can give them a bone they would attack hostile mobs around them (excluding creepers and enderman). After killing a mob they would return to their bed. Other dogs in beds around it would do the same but only if the bed is connected. So you could have a watch dog bed area next to another dog bed area but they wouldn't go attack unless one is given a bone. This would be a good way to stop hostile mobs from getting too close to a place players may not want them (they won't just hunt skeletons). Bowl UseRight now the only way to heal dogs is to give them some beef or something. And you keep feeding them until they are at full health. If you got a pack of 12 dogs and they all have taken damage you gotta feed them one by one. So why not use the bowls already in the game and let them eat without you having to feed them? Allow bowls to be placeable and fill them up with whatever they eat. Whenever you put a bowl down and they need to eat boom they don't have to eat from your hands. The thing is though is how much food is in a bowl and can there be more left over? Can one dog be healed up by finishing a bowl of food by themselves? Could more than one dog eat from a single bowl? There could be a bigger bowl that could have an inventory of 64 and hold any of the food types for dogs. Allow more dogs to eat at the same time. Maybe even enable it to have a hopper to store more food or something I don't know... If using the regular bowls as placeable items seems dumb then maybe just the dog bowl that can hold a lot. Simple CommandsIf a player has dogs following them they could make a dog sniff rotten flesh to tell it to attack zombies near the player or give them a spider eye to tell them to hunt spiders around the player. Note that this will only work if these mobs are near the player. They will not leave on their own. If you have a pack of dogs following you and one sniffed a spider eye, he won't go attack a spider that gets to close to you by himself, other dogs will have detected a threat and join in on the fight. That being said you could have a dog watch for spiders and another watch for zombies. Sitting them down will tell them to stop watching for those mobs and they will go back to waiting until you get bite by a zombie before they do anything Give a dog rotten flesh and they will hunt zombies, drowned, etc. They won't be able to hunt mobs that don't drop specific "smelly" items (lol) like enderman, creepers and illagers. Wood when burnt would have a chance of dropping charcoal Posted: 03 Nov 2020 07:41 AM PST This would only work if you were to set the block on fire and not the block as an item and it would have a 1/15 chance of dropping [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Nov 2020 05:13 AM PST People with Optifine have no reason to make a Telescope, as they have the feature built in. A great way to have them craft them is to give the Telescope something exclusive to it. My idea is to give the Telescope lenses. There will be many types of lenses.
Lenses can be added to Telescopes via the Smithing Table, and a Normal lens can be crafted with Amethyst and Glass Panes. Lenses should be added to Minecraft because they would give the Telescope a purpose, even to those who use Optifine. Vote for this idea to be in Minecraft here! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Nov 2020 01:27 PM PST Lunar Events would be a new events that would happen every so often in your world. Blue Moon:Blue moons would have a 3.5 percent chance to happen during a full moon and would give you better enchantments and cause them to cost less, during the blue moon the moon would apper like a lapis block. Harvest Moon:Harvest moons would have a 15 percent chance to happen instead of a full moon and would cause crops to grow during the night, grow faster, and drop more crops and seeds, during a harvest moon farmers would stay out and the moon would have an amber hue. Blood Moon:A blood moon would have a 6.66 percent chance to happen instead of a full moon and would cause undead mobs to get a strength, absorsion, and a speed boost, if it rains during a blood moon it would cause a debuff for the player that will cause them to take more damage from undead mobs, during the event the moon would have a dark red hue. Lunar Eclipse:Lunar eclipses would happen once every minecraft year and would cause mobs and even phantoms to spawn during the day, but enderman would also spwan more frequently and you can sleep through it if you want, diring the event the moon would be infront of the sun and would cause a large shadow to crawl across the land. If you have any questions, balancing, or other event ideas please let me know in the comments. [link] [comments] |
Nerf vexes (Totally didn't lose a Hardcore world to vexes) Posted: 03 Nov 2020 05:17 AM PST Okay. my rant is done.3 simple ways to nerf vexes: 1: Make them burn in sunlight. It makes so much sense! 2: Make them move slower when phasing through walls. It makes so much sense . 3: Lower their health by a significant amount make them 1hitKO'd by smite. It makes sense because vexes are basically spirits/ghosts and are dead/undead Please Mojang please PLEASE[link] [comments] |
More athropods and Life in the deepest darks crossover: The light-bug and it's variants! Posted: 03 Nov 2020 10:44 AM PST Light bug Hit-points: 7 (3.5 hearts) Armor points: none Behavior: passive Attack strength: none Size: 0.45 blocks tall and 0.5 blocks wide (Baby) 0.225 blocks tall and 0.3 blocks wide Spawn: Deep dark, basalt delta and the end Natural equipment: none Drops: 1-2 bug meat 0-2 sculk growth (deep dark variant only) 1-3 glow goo (1-2 for deep dark variant) 20% chance to drop a blue, red or purple glow bulb (depends on variant) Light bugs are tiny winged insects with a glowing abdomen and small glowing eyes that emit light and live in glow bug hives where they sleep and breed. They can be fed glowing mushrooms or shroomlight and will follow players around for a while when seen. There are 3 variants of them ash, deep and ender light-bug The ash light bug has a gray exoskeleton and red eyes and abdomen and spawns in the basalt delta The deep light bug has a dark blue exoskeleton and white eyes and abdomen and spawns in the deep dark The ender light bug has a light purple with white speckled exoskeleton and purple eyes and abdomen and spawns in the end ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Light bug hive the light bugs live in hives and each hive can hold up to 5 light bugs the hives faintly glow their respective color of light bug they are made when a homeless light bug chooses a sculk block, basalt block or endstone block to make it's home and burrows into it _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Glow goo this can be used to make glow blocks, blocks that start to glow when it is dark and glow the color of the glow goo it was made from it can also be used to make glowing armor which is made by combining leather armor with glow goo making it emit light and have a slightly higher durability than regular leather armor I am free for criticism leave your comments in the comments goo-low [link] [comments] |
Piglins attack Players wearing Wither Skulls, regardless of Gold. Posted: 03 Nov 2020 05:58 AM PST Piglins hate Wither Skeletons, correct? Well, I think Piglins, since they're so easily fooled by Gold, should attack any mob wearing a Wither Skeleton Skull. To add to this, Piglins should attack the Wither without aggro first - since, the Wither is basically a bigger Wither Skeleton. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Nov 2020 11:09 AM PST Crafted from 2 goat horns and an iron helmet, this helmet would provide the user with the ability to knock things back by running into them. Every time something gets knocked back the durability of the helmet would decrease. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Nov 2020 12:47 PM PST So you may have wanted to skip the day some day so it is night, well i had the idea of a hammock it would be pretty similar to a bed but you'd skip the day, it would be usefull for like if you need some gunpowder but don't have some so you could make it night early [link] [comments] |
Tamed wolves will befriend tamed wolves of other players if they've spent enough time together. Posted: 03 Nov 2020 09:30 AM PST Picture this, you and your friend are on an SMP together, and you both have a dog. You and your friend both spend a lot of time together and frequently work together, ergo, both of your dogs see each other frequently. One day, you and your friend are caving together, with your dogs. Suddenly, a zombie attacks you, which causes your own dog to attack the zombie. The zombie then attacks your dog back. Normally in Minecraft, your friend's dog wouldn't interfere, but in this suggestion, your friend's dog ALSO attacks the zombie once it hurts your own dog, in order to protect them. Since you and your friend's dogs have seen each other multiple times and have grown familiar with each other, they'll eventually befriend each other and have each other's backs. They'll be defensive not only of their owner, but of the dog they've befriended as well. I think this would be cute, because if you're friends with a player and you both have dogs, it makes it so your dogs are friends as well. I think Minecraft dogs revolve too much around their owner, and their relationship with other dogs should be expanded on. I also think it'd be cute if the dogs would play with each other, similar to how cats play with each other. They could run around in circles together, showing their relationship. This can also work with more than two dogs. If a dog's owner attacks a dog which they have befriended, then the dog will be hesitant to attack their friend. However, they will break their hesitation attack their friend normally if the owner continues to try and kill them, since the dogs will stay loyal to their owner more than the dog they befriended(now that's heartbreaking). The code behind the befriending process could work in many ways. I personally think that there should be a "bond meter" shared between the two dogs, and it has a chance of increasing every minute they're with each other. If the bond meter reaches maximum, then they will be bonded. That's just my opinion though, and I am totally open to you expanding on this concept in your own way in the comments. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Nov 2020 01:03 PM PST When it starts raining nothing happens to deserts. I think it would be cool if there where sandstorms that would limit visibility aswell as make layers of sand accumulate on the ground similar to how snow accumulates when it snows. [link] [comments] |
Piglins should dance to Pigstep Posted: 03 Nov 2020 09:55 AM PST it would be so cool if piglins would do their victory dance if they heard pigstep being played instead of waiting for them to kill a hoglin. idk what flair to put so i did sounds [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Nov 2020 02:59 PM PST I don't even know how long I've spent grinding iron for hopper pipes and lost track of the times my machines have been ruined by the fact that Hoppers can't transform items upwards without some complicated item elevator [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Nov 2020 08:54 AM PST Magnets would be a common ore deep in caves and as an item would attract to other items but when crafted into a block it would connect to other magnets, like slime blocks, but the magnet blocks can be blast resistant similar to basalt. When placed as a block the magnet would attract items towards it, this can be useful for farms and storage systems Feedback wanted This is my first attempt at a post on this subreddit [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Nov 2020 12:10 PM PST Basically, the telescope stand would allow you to leave a telescope pointing to a specific place. It would be crafted with 6 sticks and a telescope, and when placed into the world, you could interact with it to bring up the normal telescope view. When you stop interacting with it, it will be left in that position. This would be useful to map makers, as you could point players to specific place, or to builders as a decoration. It could also give off a redstone signal based off of how many entities are in its FOV. [link] [comments] |
Firework explosions should blast players with high knockback Posted: 03 Nov 2020 02:49 PM PST Now, a few things can come out of this suggestion, mainly with firework usage on a crossbow. But firstly, I believe Fireworks upon exploding and releasing whatever effects you put into the star, should blast you away with the force of a Ravagers headbutt attack, along with the 7 HP of damage of course. But, one can use this to their own advantage. For instance, this would give you another reason to use fireworks as crossbow ammo, since the makeshift rocket launcher can blast apart hoards of enemies. It can be very effective in PvP, since a well aimed rocket shot can deal a great amount of damage and potentially blast another player off the cliff from a distance. One can also aim a rocket loaded crossbow at their feet to blast themselves in the air, at the cost of self harm. The blast would however grant a new method of mobility, imagine the possibilities with this. But firework blast jumping should be utilized with care, as one may go off with a bang or hit the ground too hard. (And no, you cant get crits with a shovel when firework blast jumping.) Posted: 03 Nov 2020 10:39 AM PST 1.18 should be an end update because the end is so empty. [link] [comments] |
Giving Water-Breathing status effect to Water-weak mobs makes them immune to water damage Posted: 03 Nov 2020 04:53 AM PST This could make it so Striders, Endermen, Blazes and whatever water-weak mobs that exist don't get hurt in rain/water. A simple change but it would be nice for Striders at least. There could also be a new potion effect for this but I thought it'd be too niche [link] [comments] |
Horse Variants (Biome related) Posted: 03 Nov 2020 02:09 PM PST Horses in Minecraft are really cool, however, I would appreciate if there were variants dependent to respective biomes, and they do essentially what a horse provides (transportation with a saddle), but with a difference... Desert: the desert is a really cool animal in real life called the camel. The camel would be a variant to a horse, and if you didn't know, camels have lumps on their backs. My idea with lumps, is that each lump should support a player. Imagine the possibilities! Of course, only one player controls the direction (the front one), and the other person stays for the ride. Sometimes me and my friend get lost because of our fast horses, and this would be a great way to fix that Savanna: the savanna should contain our black and white striped horse equivalent, the zebra. The zebra would basically be a horse with stripes, but don't let this fool you, because stripes would be for something! Stripes would actually lower your visibility to aggressive mobs! (Obviously only when you are riding it). To which extent, I don't know, but this is definitely cool Jungle: yes, I know giraffes are from the savanna as well, but we need biome exclusives! Anyways, the giraffe would be so very different because you can actually see taller than with horses, camels or zebras! When you dismount the giraffe, however, you can get hurt, so be sure to wear strong armor or place a water bucket. [link] [comments] |
Illagers don’t attack villagers in the presence of pandas Posted: 03 Nov 2020 12:26 PM PST I know this sounds kinda random, but hear me out. I've seen a lot of people insulting pandas lately, calling them useless just because... I dunno, you don't get a unique item by punching them. I disagree that they're useless (reminder, this is a game about building), but I understand why they might seem underwhelming. I think a simple way to add some depth to them would be by taking advantage of an established mechanic, but not in an exploitative way. Pandas in Minecraft are supposed to be joyous and full of personality. Literally, that's one of their mechanics. Illagers, on the other hand, are the villains of Minecraft. If they could, they'd try to steal forty cakes, and that's terrible. Even then, illagers have been shown to have standards, like not killing children and... I guess respecting Archie's authority. With this in mind, I think they should be unable to bring themselves to killing people within the presence of a panda. How I see this working is that they need to be already in pursuit of a villager, as well as looking at the panda. You can't just lock them in cages and prevent illagers from getting in thanks to the cuteness they can't see. Upon seeing the panda, they'd show visible affection towards them, but also reluctance, as demonstrated by the sweat and heart particles. If they can simply move away from the panda and continue the attack, they'd do that, but if there isn't enough room between them and the panda, they'll reluctantly leave their prey alone. Before you ask, no, this wouldn't work during raids. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Nov 2020 11:00 AM PST Ok so here's the idea, I know already have rivers, ponds, and oceans, but what if we had rivers that actually flowed down mountains? Oceans that had waves, and, to make these seas travel able by boat, we could make bigger boats! I'm just thinking up ideas, but wouldn't that be cool? [link] [comments] |
Beacons should be able to be used in the Nether Posted: 03 Nov 2020 03:45 PM PST You should be able to build beacons in the nether but there is a twist, the effects of the beacon are different, you could have fire resistance, etc. [link] [comments] |
