Cravings: A simple way to reward food diversity

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 02:33 AM PST

Occasionally, when you get hungry, you'll see an additional icon near your hunger bar indicating that you have a craving.
It'll usually be a food that you've eaten before, but not in a long while.

If you eat that particular food,
    - your hunger bar fills completely
    - you get the saturation status effect for a minute or so

To keep this balanced, the saturation effect should be changed as follows:
    When under saturation,
    - your hunger bar turns gold
    - your hunger won't deplete until the effect runs out

There's no negative consequence for eating the wrong food, but if you fill your hunger bar without satisfying the craving, it'll disappear and you won't get another for some time.

The fact that you tend to crave food you haven't had in a while gives the impression of some kind of underlying 'nutrition' mechanic, without making food management more complicated.

Finally, as an easter egg, during holidays you might get cravings for certain foods more often, like Chicken and Pumpkin Pie for Thanksgiving, or cookies and sweet berries on Christmas.

If you like this idea, vote for it here!

    Craters

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 05:17 AM PST

Due to Mojang making cooler ore generation, craters would be a cool idea

They would be circular dips in the land generation and would be a layer of stone. Under the stone, it would have a lot of a specific ore. Some could have iron, others gold and also copper. It would have a few blocks on fire. It could also have a few dirt blocks which when used on by the new brush tool would give nuggets or bones.

Craters can be a few block wide (common) to up to 150 blocks wide(extremely rare and smaller concentration of ores. )

    Thanks for reading

Everyone is focusing on the CAVES in Caves and Cliffs, i want to talk about the CLIFFS

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 08:27 AM PST

The Minecraft caves and cliffs update should have a new biome, this biome would be the Cliff biome

    Cliffs

Cliffs would generate along the shore, occasionally replacing beaches for decent stretches of around 100 blocks, then would return back to regular beaches gradually getting shorter. They would have a height from anywhere between 4 blocks above sea level and 25 blocks above sea level. The Cliff biome would feature sheer drops into water; potentially hard rocks jutting out from the sea that would hurt if you fell from the cliff. These cliffs could occasionally generate with rivers flowing off them and forming water falls; Perhaps you'll find an interesting archaeological sight behind the waterfall, maybe there will be treasure.

Cliffs will be able to generate in any biome except for extreme biomes like the shattered savanna plateu, mountain biome, etc. being made of sandstone in the desert, limestone and stone in the plains and forest biome, chalk in the taiga, and stone in the mushroom biome.

    Limestone and Chalk

Limestone would be a new block, It would have a kind of creamy rough texture with tiny BARELY noticeable specks in it, you would be able to polish it and make stairs, slabs, and walls with it

Chalk would be a whitish grey colour, you'd be able to make bricks with it to make walls, stairs and slabs, similar to stone bricks but a dull white instead of grey. when its not in brick form you can make stairs and slabs with the basic chalk

You should get the achievement “Sneaking Out of Prison” when you walk past a warden without alerting it.

It's another fun little achievement to plethora.

If you cure a zombie villager with armour or tools, there's a 100% chance they will drop the armour or tools

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 10:16 AM PST

Quite simple, just a little something to make curing villagers more rewarding (it uses a golden apple after all)

Stripping logs should sometimes drop sticks.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 08:35 AM PST

I think it would be a good little improvement if logs dropped sticks if they were stripped. Right now they don't drop anything, and it feels weird. Perhaps also adjusting the amount of planks stripped logs yield would account for sticks dropped.

New cave type for update: Lava Tube.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 09:32 AM PST

Do you need a little training before building that portal?, then look no further. Introducing: Lava tubes!

Lava tubes are a cave type that is dangerous, but worth the risk.

Lava tubes are long caves with lava rivers running through them and obsidian/magma shores. Along the walls, metal ores are plentiful.

Like the deep dark, this biome is meant to be a challenge, and comes with a unique mob: the Magmolt.

The Magmolt spawns rarely in wide areas, and normally starts out as a small, imp like creature with a molten core in the middle. However, it draws power from the heat around it. The longer it's near "hot" blocks, the stronger it gets. It starts out basking near lava, but once it notices a player, it absorbs heat from magma blocks and lava. This will give it a larger, fiery body.

Touching the Magmolt will damage and burn you. And it burns arrows. You need to exhaust it by dodging attacks or luring it away from heat. Every three attacks besides bursts will fully exhaust it.

At full power, it has a variety of attacks.

Flame dash-It propels itself with fire for a short distance, igniting the target and knocking them back.

Fire stream- After a short animation, it releases a cone of flames, dealing damage and setting nearby blocks on fire.

Recharge- it will seek magma or other "hot" blocks and absorb their heat through an animation. At this state, it can't move and is vulnerable to attacks.

Core burst- The Magmolt will glow brightly, then it will release an explosion. This attack is close-ranged and extremely powerful. The Magmolt will lose a large of portion its power afterwards, and will seek hot blocks to recharge.

"Hot" blocks are magma, fire, furnaces, torches, and lava cauldrons.

Drops- rarely, it will drop a molten core, which is an off hand item that automatically smelts any ores mines for a few minutes when right clicked. It requires coal, Blaze powder, lava, or magma blocks to recharge when depleted.

10 ores will deplete the core.

The mob is based off of salamanders, elementals, and cinder (killer instinct).

The 1.17 tinted glass should be blast proof.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 10:53 AM PST

The new tinted glass would be a great opportunity to add some kind of blast proof glass to the game!

The main use case for something like this would be farms that would require TNT, where you might want a viewing window for a control room.

Maybe the crafting recipe could be altered somewhat to make the glass more durable (idk how, open for suggestions) also to make it a little bit harder to obtain mass quantities of the stuff.

Let me know what you think of this idea!

A special death message saying something like "Player did not have the high ground" when shot into lava by a skeleton could appear or something like that.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 01:52 PM PST

PVP death messages could say "Player 1 had the high ground over Player 2"

    Idk, just my thoughts :)

    Market Place

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 01:49 PM PST

What, you thought I was talking about the Minecraft Market place, no. I want a structure called Market Place, where Wandering Traders and villagers would gather around. It would be a long row of stores where Traders would trade different items. Weapons, minerals, all sorts of things. They would spawn in any biome and would be pretty rare. But, worth it to find. They'd also have chests,

Clay Pots should spawn inside Desert Pyramids

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 01:09 PM PST

Currently, desert pyramids are empty and extremely boring. They could certainly use some decoration like the upcoming Clay Pots from 1.17! Also, these could have "warnings" that hint to the player that the pyramid has a hidden treasure.

Jukeboxes playing music distracts Wardens and lowers the range a sculk sensor is able to detect noises.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 07:43 AM PST

If you are near a Warden and/or sculk sensors, place down a jukebox with a disc, and Wardens will come to the jukebox and listen to the music while the noise detect range of the sculk sensor is lower. Wardens would slowly approach the music box and will try to pull the disc out. That was my suggestion! Have a great day!

A new painting for each future update.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 02:48 PM PST

This is self explanatory, but it would give a painting to each future update starting in 1.17. You could only place this painting after encountering all new mobs and features in the game.

The painting for 1.17 would possibly be a scary, dark cave with an outlines of a warden looking down at Alex. Another painting for this update could be a beautiful mountain with a goat sitting down in the middle and Azalea trees in the distance.

I would be glad to hear your ideas for update specific paintings in the comments.

Copper Cables and Repeaters- a unique way of having waterlogged redstone (pics included)

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 03:35 PM PST

First of all, I have seen other posts suggesting copper wires and stuff. I've read many of these, and this one is definitely unique.

Feedback site link (currently pending approval, tell me when it works).

Minecraft redstone can do a lot, that's for sure. However, one thing it cannot do is anything water-related without a ton of extra work. A single misplaced bucket can destroy hours of effort for the largest of machines.

Copper cables are a way to avoid this. Crafted with 6 copper ingots and 3 redstone dust (stacked vertically with the redstone in the middle and copper on the sides, making 6), they act as redstone dust that can be waterlogged without harm. However, they also have some unique features.

As stated before, copper cables can be waterlogged. Also, signals can last twice as long, traveling for a total of 28 blocks rather than 14. They can be placed in midair, even vertically, but they require a support block every 8 blocks (being attached to a solid block).

Cables also automatically shift to point towards redstone-related blocks (currently, redstone dust only does this for other dust and repeaters). It can be shift+right clicked to switch its shape, too.

Another useful thing about the cables is that they can be pushed and pulled by pistons while keeping their shape. This would allow for interesting contraptions, with moving wires, and along with the waterlogging would probably open up as much redstone as sculk sensors.

Lastly, a repeater can be crafted with a copper wire to form a copper repeater. Copper repeaters function similar to regular ones, but with two catches- they only work for copper wires, and their delays last twice as long (1 is 0.2 seconds, 2 is 0.4, etc). They also follow similar placement methods to copper cables, except they must be placed on a solid block, they can't go in midair.

Thanks for reading, and be sure to upvote the feedback site post if you like it!

    New Elytra Enchantments

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 06:44 AM PST

The Elytra is a very fun movement tool, and I think it would be cool if it got a few enchants.

Eagle Eye: Greatly slows you down for a bit while nocking an arrow (think like Breath of the Wild's aerial bullet time mechanic)

Crash Landing: Greatly reduces fall damage, but also makes it so that if you hit the ground while moving fast enough, you'll cause an explosion on landing that does not break blocks, but damages enemies.

Speedy: Increases the max gliding speed.

    Creaking floorboards

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 12:19 PM PST

What if there was a type of wood block or slab that when you step on it it would make a loud sound that could be detected by the warden or sculk sensor. Also what if there were catacombs with regular wood and creaking floorboards littered around so you would draw the warden to you. To counter this, why not there was a boot enchantment called Sneaking which would work on gold, iron, diamond, and netherite armor. Leather boots would have the same effect as sneaking. This enchantment would make it so there is a chance you don't make a sound when you walk or step on creaking floorboards.

You should be able to combine a spyglass and map in a cartography table to zoom the map in.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 10:11 AM PST

The more spyglasses you use, the more it gets zoomed in. This could be really usefull for smaller mapart too

    Biome variants for items.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 04:00 PM PST

Mojang seriously need to consider adding variants of items based on the biome. Wouldn't harm the game in any way and would just make the game feel more expansive.

Sweet berries could have so many different reskins based on the biome, same mechanics and same effects just with a different name and different colouring.

With Dripstone all they need to do is give it a Icy Blue colouring, name it "Icicle" and have them spawn in caves in snowy places and they have themselves a brand new block. Again same mechanics as dripstone but adds a good new feel to snowy areas.

Iron, add one or two new types of metal to the game that has the exact same use as iron but change the name of iron armor to metal armor so you can use different types of metals for it.

Flowers, add a ton of new flowers and different types of leaves and bushery to the game. Again all the have to do is reskin existing leaf blocks and flowers with different colours and they have loads of new blocks and building ideas for played in the game.

There is so many possibilities and cool concepts purple could make with these features and it's honestly a missed opportunity by not making this.
