SoftSlayer has been around for about 9 years now, with a pretty dedicated community that still plays a bunch of games together (obviously including Minecraft). Our server is small and pretty simple, it's a mostly vanilla atmosphere with a few things added like /home and /warps. Everyone is friendly and helpful with most things needed. PvP is disabled (we have a custom PvP arena to scratch your PvP itch), griefing is not allowed (mods will rollback if you get griefed) and you can lock your chests. Staff and Ranks On our server you an equal member of the community, everything we know you deserve to know. We do have an option to donate, and we have donator ranks. There is no in game items or commands provided to these players. Donators head's are placed at spawn and they are given a colored name. Well then what do donators get? Donators receive a colored name based on the rank they provide. MVP is orange and VIP is light blue. We have two ranks: MVP: $5.00 monthly VIP: $2.50 monthly The prices of these ranks are capped very low because we do not want a large amount of money from any singular player. We want the experience to be as low cost as possible for as many players as possible so by employing this donation system most players can play for free and those that do wish to support us do not have to pay much. We will always share how much we have received in donations and even how we are deciding to spend it. In addition, we are completely transparent about any dilemmas regarding media influencers, high ranked staff, or any fundamental changes within the server. Your Voice Matters! With around currently 15 active players. I am looking to still build upon that while maintaining the close knit group of people feeling. Here to create a community of people who lean towards the builder aspect but enjoy everything about Minecraft. I heavily play the game just about every day and am looking for more to join in on the projects we plan, design, build, and create. I am looking for like minded people, people that like to consistently work in the same world for 1-3 years, and people that typically play a few times a week putting in 10ish hours. Although this doesn't mean you're not allowed to take breaks, I know I have needed those month breaks. Or in general you just have a busy life outside of Minecraft. About & Gameplay: I am generally looking for people that like to build towns, cities, cottages, kingdoms, etc. Although I do like my redstone contraptions, I want the main top land to be covered in beautiful buildings that maybe even sometimes tell a story. Just about every application says that, so it's not really a skill anymore at this point.. So I would like to see a little more of your creative sides when applying :) My goal with this world is to keep it for as long as possible. I generally like to keep playing in worlds for longer amounts of time. As mentioned above, we all take breaks sometimes. And when we are feeling crafty again we don't want to log in and find that the world has been reset and it's time to start all over again. That being said, this doesn't mean that a reset can't or won't happen. Because at times it seems that's the only way to freshen things up, although I find moving out to a new area leaving everything behind is a great way to start all over, but I digress. I'd like to at least get most of the current 8,000x8,000 world pretty filled up by the time a reset does come around. I want to encourage players to build and work together as much as possible. Various projects to work together on such as Shopping/Trading areas, Spawn Town, Gaming and Theme Park are a great way to band together. I want to have the feeling that this is a server a people playing together, rather than people playing a server doing their own singleplayer projects. Although those are still welcome, I just want to get people working together doing things as much as possible. To give you an idea of what kinds of builds I expect, here are a few of my own along with some images of builds from friends that I play with on another server from time to time. The Server: The server is inspired by Hermit Craft. We have similar data packs, but more included from Xisuma's VanillaTweaks data pack. We're looking for some committed players, possibly some additional staff who know their stuff when it comes to RP. The game will take place in a Site centered around an alternate version of StarPhoenix's Falling Stars cannon, where players will need to survive an event which removes the surface of life and confines all personnel to the Site with D-Class, SCPs, and limited rations. Players can be researchers, admins, security, MTF team mates, Intelligence Agents, Engineers, Medical staff, D-Class, or the single still open role of Ethics Committee Liaison. We are serious Roleplayers, so our server is whitelisted and we will be recording what Roleplay we can. We will also be making this particular map a sealed map, meaning when you die you will not be able to return to this particular iteration. We also have bigger plans after this map, mainly our SCP: Operations project where we will conduct Foundation operations on a map with unknowing players. Players form their own nations, enforce their own rules, and are responsible for protecting what they've made. Playing as a hermit is an extra challenge compared to other Survival servers, it is almost like, multiplayer RLcraft: Punch a tree? No, you need to get sticks from leaves and make planks from sticks. Make stone tools? You need to get flint or bone to make primitive tools instead. Oh major buff recently: Stone will make wooden-equivalent tools now! OK I've got a primitive tool, why isn't this stone breaking? Primitive tools are junk, you need to hit it 1-10 times until it randomly breaks. Iron/Bronze/Steel/Diamond is better. Found some iron, why can't I smelt it? Uhh I could explain how to make Factories, but you'd probably better join a nation or trade some logs at this point. OK fine, let's make a boat and sail to a nation! No, you can't make a boat without several factories, but you can use /ott for a one-time teleport to join a group :) Benefits of a nation: Factories can make things quicker and cheaper than normal, and the basic ones aren't very expensive. A small group of players can afford the intermediate ones too. The guy who logged on to quickly gear up and go raiding can't do that; your new friends with an iron sword and leather armor can take him out. Easier to build and protect a secure vault, where PrisonPearl can store captured prisoners. Or if you get captured, being in a nation can help negotiate your release or free you in a war. Join the discord first to be whitelisted We are on Java 1.16.4 Our world is 3 months old and established, but it's starting to slow down, and we would love to see a few more friendly players who will stick around longer than joining once or twice. We are not a PVP server. Just come on, don't steal or grief, and find you a place to base, build farms, build onto the community areas, or however you like to play. If you only like servers where tons of players are on at once, then this server won't be for you. We always have players but it will be from 2 to 10 at once max at a time. We plan on keeping our world around possibly until 1.17 releases, so that's a good while!Don't feel like you'll be behind everyone else, because everyone is helpful and likes seeing cool new people. My mods do monitor new players sometimes in the beginning, but overall myself and the mods just play normally like everyone else, in survival.
