Melee attack while on horseback should do crits.

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 06:30 AM PST

Throughout history, calvary has been extensively used in combat, and were devastating to come up against.

I think a good way to portray this in minecraft is to grant the player automatic crits while striking an enemy on horseback, as the extra speed and momentum of the horse means a stronger attack.

This would make grant horses an extra use so they aren't completely put aside for elytras or other more conventional means of transportation, and would give the player an extra advantage in battle.

If this seems a bit overpowered please let me know.

EDIT: As I've recieved wonderful feedback from those in the comments, I decided to make a few additions/POTENTIAL changes.

    1. You need to be moving to get crits

    2. You have to wait for your weapon to fully recharge to get crits.

    3. As a solution to some people pointing out that 100% crits may be too OP/exploitable, I propose that the percentage a horse has to crit corresponds with how fast they are.

For instance, say the slowest horse possible gets a 50% chance to crit, while the fastest horses possible gets a 100% chance to crit.

This would promote people to work through breeding to get that 100% crit chance while also sacrificing health and jump height to make it fair.

Activate Sculk Sensors with the scream of an angry Enderman

Activate Sculk Sensors with the scream of an angry Enderman

When you look at an enderman, it screams. If the Sculk Sensor could detect that scream, we could take advantage of this and trigger redstone from far away just by looking at a specific point (the head of the enderman).

I've used endermen in creative to detect where the player is looking, but being able to use them in survival mode would be amazing!

I think a scream could count as a vibration because:

    • It is a very strong sound.
    • The enderman makes a physical motion (opens his mouth).
    • Occurs on very specific occasions (is controllable).
    • It is extremely useful for Redstone Contraptions.

Activating redstone from afar is not something new, you could put a button, connect it with a row of redstone dust and some repeaters and that's it. But what interests me about the enderman is that you have to look at it, nothing else uses this mechanic in the game and I wish it could be used in redstone contraptions.

putting a sapling on sand creates a deadbush after some time

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 10:12 AM PST

I really like using deadbushes for decoration. Too bad they're not renewable. So whenever I terraform my Mesa biome/desert, I'm first stuck with shearing off all the deadbushes, because I need them for decoration.

Plus I have a lot of oak saplings that Idk where to put.

What do you think of that?

Implementing petrified wood into the cave update

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 05:48 AM PST

Petrified oak slabs have been in the game for a while now and serve absolutely no purpose. For those of you who don't know, petrified oak slabs are a creative only block that can be accessed in the creative menu. The difference between regular oak slabs and petrified oak slabs is that petrified oak slabs are mined with a pickaxe and not an axe. In real life, petrified wood is essentially crystallized/fossilized wood. This of course fits perfectly with the Caves and Cliffs update as one of part of the update is archeology. Petrified oak could be found in some of the archeology sites or maybe underground like fossils and would generate in clumps. Just like fossils, finding petrified wood would be a rare occurrence but would be beneficial to the player. Who doesn't need extra wood when mining? You need to make torches somehow. If having petrified oak have the same rarity of fossils is too high, then why not have them be a slightly more frequent, but still rare, occurrence like amethyst geodes or diamonds. I don't really think mojang would want to have a petrified version of each tree type, so probably just oak would be fine. To make petrified wood more unique, I'd imagine that it would have a slightly faded exterior with a red-ish/purple-ish interior. You could craft things with petrified oak in a crafting table, but it is cheaper to use it in stone cutter (just like bricks or cobblestone).

You can find skulls in archaeology sites.

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 08:02 AM PST

Archaeology is going to be in minecraft and you dig up ancient ruins to find artifacts. The artifacts are not meant for usefulness mostly but for stories and decoration. I think when brushing blocks, one of the possible items that you can get should be a skeleton skull. This is balanced. The skull is currently very hard to get and only has purpose in decoration and also it will imply a story about ancient civilizations that used to live in the dug up structures. You could also find bones maybe

Pillager banners should have special properties

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 03:21 AM PST

If placed down it should increase the chance of a patrol randomly spawning and wandering into the area, it won't start a raid if they wander into a village but the patrol will just attack

If put on a shield patrol spawns are more common near the player and the player will get bad omen immediately upon Aggro

This could make some utility of pillager banners to allow for some sort of arrow and XP farming technique but it wouldn't be super strong, just a slightly increased chance so it wouldn't even be game breaking

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 12:54 PM PST

I mean the title is pretty simple and self- explanatory. I don't know how much characters does this want from me in here, so please just ignore this and move on.

    End city loot

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 07:07 AM PST

Add enchanted golden apples to end city chest. End city are a rare structure and are semi difficult to completely raid so I think a good reward would be an enchanted golden apple. If that would be too op maybe they would only generate as loot in the ships.

Beehives/Beenests to show Honey level and Number of Bees in the inventory as a tag.

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 06:40 AM PST

Currently, The only way to know if a beehive/nest is occupied or empty is when they do not stack in the inventory. This makes it difficult to identify them when transporting/placing them in apiaries.

I suggest that Honey level and the Number of bees in the hive be shown as a tag when the mouse hovers over them in the inventory, like how enchantments are shown on a particular tool.

Feedback site post Here you can vote for this idea.

    New End Resource: Endglass

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 08:59 AM PST

Endglass (which is just a working name, haven't thought of any better names for it) is a crystal-like block that naturally spawns in the End, and can also be made normally by smelting End Stone. It is light purple in color and has a much fainted texture than regular glass, with the texture also being different to distinguish it from stained glass. It can also be mined without silk touch.

What's special about this Endglass aside from decor? Well, if Endglass is placed right next to an opaque block, looking through the Endglass will let you see through that opaque block, though it can only look through a maximum of 1 block (no X Ray hacks for you!). This can let players come up with additional designs for secret bases and allow them to safely look out, as this can be used to make one way glass.

Wither Skeletons spawn most in the soul sand valley

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 09:09 AM PST

I like the soul sand valleys but there really isn't a reason to visit them unless it's for the advancement. I think the wither skeletons should spawn there because they would fit how it feels and plus, they were in the ads for the nether update

    Fossils Generating Near Digsites

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 11:02 AM PST

    Fossils Generating Near Digsites

There really isn't much to say about this one, only that fossil structures should have a chance of spawning around 8-20 blocks below a digsite. Perhaps some of the fossils could even be exposed to the surface. For anyone who happen to not know about fossils in Minecraft, I'll leave a picture below of one out of the several different fossil formations that can naturally generate in the Overworld. Leave your opinion and other feedback on this suggestion in the comment section.

    Enchantment for leads

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 11:30 AM PST

Putting Curse if Binding on a lead should make it so when a mob is attached in it, the lead shouldn't be able to break at a certain distance.

The entity on the lead would start taking damage and also slow down the player if they player holding lead got to far away from said entity.

    Chisel

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 02:05 PM PST

    Chisel

The chisel would be a 'tool' used exclusively for building.
The Chisel is crafted with Iron Nuggets in a sword-like pattern. It would also deal about the same damage as a wooden sword and the same pick power as a stone pickaxe.
Its main purpose, however, is that it is used in the way axes can make Stripped Logs and shovels make Dirt Paths. It can be right clicked on some blocks in order to turn them into various forms.
For example - there is an unused sandstone texture that looks like it had hieroglyphs on it. This could be made with the Chisel and would be called Hieroglyph Sandstone or Ancient Sandstone.
It could also be used to chisel various other stone blocks.

Dogs afraid of thunder and fireworks

    Posted: 11 Jan 2021 11:42 PM PST

    Makes sense. Also useful because

    1. It tells you to keep your dog inside the house during thunder storms
    2. If your dogs are attacking a friend or a dangerous mob, you can place fireworks and they will scatter

Cool because dogs haven't really been touched since the beginning. Also biome defendant skins would be nice but that's not the idea

    Poisonous Berries

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 10:35 AM PST

When it comes to poisonous foods in Minecraft. it can teach you two things: Don't eat it in Minecraft and don't eat it in real life. That should go the same way with berries. If kids play Minecraft and then take a walk later in a forest or somewhere with berry bushes, they might choose to pluck one berry off and put it in their mouth. This could hurt the person. Not only will it possibly create a lawsuit. it might also harm the person severely. That is why I propose Poisonous Berries. But instead of being like a poisonous potato, they will only generate in generated poisonous berry bushes. You can replant it but it will only grow to create more poisonous berries. If you eat it, you will get poison for a certain amount of time. Maybe the berries could be a brighter shade of red. Thanks for reading.

    Chainmail over leather

Historically chainmail was worn over a layer of thick clothing that already slightly works as armour, so being able to put chainmail over leather and increase your resistance would be cool.

Add a system that smoothens chunk transitions if the world was generated from a previous version

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 01:03 AM PST

The 1.17 will overhauls the overworld generation, which will probably make the transition between the newly generated chunks looks really terrible, creating extreme ugly-looking chunk cliffs around the already generated terrain.

    Examples:

I don't think anyone would like anything like that in their world, so implementing this would definitely help to make worlds look better. In Legacy Console Edition, Mojang already has something that partially prevents this kind of thing. There are also some community-created tools like mcmerge and bestofboth that tackle this issue but sadly they were made for older versions and are no longer supported.
