Amethyst shards used to refresh enchantments

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 09:22 AM PDT

Right now the only way to refresh the available enchantments on an item is to enchant something else. This is probably intentional, but it's also a bit frustrating. It sort of just forces you to waste your experience and grind for more. Currently amethyst is really lacking in terms of gameplay functions. This feature could add more value to amethyst. If it's important that enchanting tables can only be refreshed by enchanting, maybe this process would still use experience, but just use less.

EDIT: this idea is more about giving amethyst more uses than about changing the enchanting system. Primarily I just want to see amethyst become more useful. As a renewable resource, it's practical applications are really disappointing. I think giving it some sort of utility in the enchanting system would be really cool and would be fitting (the whole idea of magical crystals comes to mind.)

    Improved Jungle Temples

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 09:14 PM PDT

    Improved Jungle Temples

The Jungle Temple in its current state is honestly a kind of forgotten structure. Not only does it look kind of... dated, its loot is abysmal for its rarity.

Introducing the Redesigned and Rethought Jungle Temples!

    The New Jungle Temple

The new Jungle Temple would be more akin to the Aztec Temples in history. They would have a stairway leading up to four pressure plates, which is mainly there to keep the puzzle feel of the Temples there still.

    https://preview.redd.it/5zc6cnegli971.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=c9b15b6228f0b6ff04b41458e3500ebfe99076e6

    https://preview.redd.it/td1967dmli971.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=d95e0f10664429158ceb79b78f3fb3b35f41fa72

Also, there is a 50% Chance for each Temple to have this bonus chest above the Pressure Plates.

Anyway, putting an entity on each Pressure Plate would activate a Piston Door, opening it to reveal its hidden treasures.

    https://preview.redd.it/jzighauvli971.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=49e7be6ddb991147baf697815f893413a4ebe658

Inside, however, there lies many traps: much more than the old Temples and much deadlier.
For one, the old Tripwire-Dispenser trap is still there, no changes here.
However, falling down into the tomb will show you a Skeleton Spawner!

    https://preview.redd.it/ocpjnfe8mi971.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=a6d8c4f6a657ac8e621d9acec2f3d25b811e8bdf

What you do with this spawner, whether you keep it or dismantle it, is up to you, however the rest of the treasure is yet to be discovered.
Following the artificial river, you'll be met with an Emerald Block! Be careful while obtaining it, however, as there may be some *explosive* repurcussions.

    https://preview.redd.it/8igl4c9imi971.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=8521c4c1e56e5447c106cfbe57f9708c1bc08e5c

    https://preview.redd.it/9yhgmlzimi971.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=d3139895db2bfb68f526a7c48aad705730431155

Aside from that, it would appear that you have gathered all of the Temple's loot. Perhaps you could turn it into a Mob Grinder if one felt so inclined. However, there's one more chest hidden within the new Temple, and it's hidden behind the Cracked Stone Bricks, which you must excavate to find your treasure.

    https://preview.redd.it/bqrtgrxymi971.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=a042bcad81ec3b328b7f935ad8d727ffc5596ca3

From there, however, you have successfully raided the Jungle Temple! This new temple is designed specifically to keep the player on their toes. There's a better sense of disabling traps and solving puzzles with this new Temple compared to the old one. It even rewards you with a Spawner alongside its new Loot Tables, which I will list here. Due to the rarity of these Jungle Temples, they would have considerably better loot than Desert Pyramids.

    Item Stack Size Chances
    Bamboo 1-3 70%
    Bones 1-2 70%
    Bow (Random Enchants) 1 20%
    Diamond 1 18%
    Emerald 1-2 50%
Enchanted Book (Random Enchants EXCEPT Soul Speed) 1 22.5%
    Enchanted Golden Apple 1 7.5%
    Glistening Melon 1 30%
    Golden Apple 1 25%
    Iron Ingot 1-2 50%
    Moss Block 1-3 70%
    Moss Carpet 2-4 60%
    Potion of Luck 1 10%
    Raw Gold 1-3 40%

Mushrooms be placed like sea pickles and candles

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 12:38 PM PDT

It's a small detail that make a big difference for ambience and decoration in general. Also be placed in the side of a block like torches isn't a bad idea. Thoughts? :)

Add rockets to end city loot

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 01:41 AM PDT

This would be like the mineshaft chests having torches, allowing you to top yourself off, and can also inform the player about the elytra propulsion mechanics

    "Faster Than a Speeding Rocket"

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 07:18 AM PDT

Using firework rockets to accelerate elytra movement is kinda unintuitive for new players, so a new advancement could be added in the End tab to let the player know about this mechanic.

Idea; add saltpeter and sulfur to world generation.

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 12:08 PM PDT

Saltpeter (potassium nitrate) and sulfur could be crafted with charcoal to create gunpowder. Doing this would allow players to obtain gunpowder in peaceful mode, but with some extra work of course.

    Stone and metal signs

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 12:17 PM PDT

Having a block with such a unique function trapped in 8 colors is a shame. You can not write something on the graveyard or in a laboratory without breaking the authenticity. In my opinion, this game needs these signs:

    • Iron - for laboratories
    • Copper - for something steampunk
    • Golden - for museums and hotels
    • Blackstone, Deepslate, Stone, Granite and etc - for graves and monuments

Also, the basic color of text on the Dark Oak and dark stone variants should be white (do not count this as multisuggestion, these are just details)

    Donkeys should carry jukeboxes

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 11:50 PM PDT

I think donkeys should be able to carry jukeboxe (in place of a chest).

I feel like jukeboxes are way too limited in their usage. The music is quite good, but their range is way too small. Most of the time, the player is moving around, and wont sit and enjoy the music.

As such, I think you should be able to place jukeboxes on donkeys and play music as they walk around. This would allow you to enjoy the music as you are walking around, which, personally, I feel would be a nice addition, and give jukeboxes a greater practical purpose.

    Leaf items

    Leaf items

The Leaf item is an item that you can get from breaking leaves of any wood type, you can get different leaf items depending on the type of leaves you break. The use of the leaf Items are banner patterns and recipes for leaves.

    Leaves

These can be the leaf types.

The Leaves recipe could look like this.

    Banner Patterns

There should be different banner patterns depending on the leaf you craft it with.

These could be what the leaf banner patterns look like.

Spiders shouldn't be able to stick to waxed copper blocks

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 11:40 AM PDT

Just a thought that I had for building spider farms / mob farms. It would make sense since we have blocks like the honey block where you "stick" to it, why not a block that spiders can't stick to.

Minecraft Skin Animations (Just wait, it's NOT bad as you Think!).. Maybe.

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 10:37 AM PDT

Minecraft Java Players can animate skins, only limited to a few Frames. And that aspects of the skin design may only be changed by slight shades. Not drastic changes of colors (etc, blue from red).

To avoid medical reasons, and ugly messes of skins roaming around Minecraft. This would be good for giving context of what materials apart of a skin is really made out of that the creator primarily refers to. Such as gold, diamond and etc. By giving it a slight shine.

Now, to give you more overview. These shadings of the same colours, are ONLY limited to ever so slightly (but noticeable shades), so rethink of how this concept could be workable with. Not sure if everybody would like this. But here it's.

Now, I am not saying I want this. This is a concept that Devs and other Players should at least grasp IMO and test aroud with. Perhaps we could even do this on... Mobs? Such as piglin brutes on their golden materials of clothing?

Surely not tools though! That would look UGLY! Armor, especially

    Minecraft needs useless features

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 04:11 PM PDT

Minecraft needs useless features like the poisonous potato, bat, golden items, wandering traders and rabbit hide because without features like these, the game is hollow. If you start to question why minecraft needs golden tools for example, then you will start to question why minecraft needs wooden tools since you only ever really need the wooden pickaxe. If you remove features like these then minecraft becomes extremely bland. Without bats, caves would be less interesting. Without poisonous potatoes, farming potatoes would be less exciting as the fear that you might harvest a bad potato is gone. If you think that minecraft only needs the essential features then the game loses its richness and depth and becomes less interesting. I know people generally think that useless items like these should be removed and I am open to constructive criticism in the comments as to why they should be removed.

A Solution to FPS List Limbo

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 09:47 AM PDT

I've seen a lot of discussion on reworking the FPS List. I think this stems from the fact that it's essentially a place where popular ideas, good or bad, get trapped. Obviously even with good ideas Mojang can't upheave development to add them, especially now that updates are themed and for example Shield variants wouldn't be suitable for Cliffs and Caves. However, I have a suggestion that might make it more helpful.

I think it would be useful for Mojang developers to have a look at the list and apply rankings to the suggestions, first to cut down the FPS List and then to prevent the standstill we are currently experiencing they would be applied after the release of every major update. These rankings would be:

Pending - needs review by developers (basically what all on the FPS List seem to be now as far as we know)

Ongoing - internal discussion in progress between developers as to whether or not to implement

Accepted - an idea will be implemented into the game eventually when a relevant time/place can be found (perhaps this would necessitate a "To Do List" to better place these)

Implemented - aka it is moved to the Implemented List

Rejected - aka it moves to the Rejected List

Obviously those last 2 are a given, but with the FPS List getting so large I think it's important for Mojang to comment on these in an effort to cut the List down and prevent it becoming a Limbo space as it were. After getting through the current FPS List, this system would ensure things don't get out of hand again and would be a good way of keeping the conversation going.

You can make soup in a cauldron

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 08:28 PM PDT

It relatively simple put water in a cauldron. add ingredients such as a brown mushroom and a red mushroom into the cauldron with a right click, or throw them in (for automation purposes) and boom three bowls of soup, this fixes the problem of rabbit stew not being worth it, it makes stew a more acceptable food, as well as adds an opportunity to add more soup. :)

A cloud biome made of wool

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 11:28 AM PDT

This would be about as rare as the mushroom island to make it balanced.

This biome would always be completely exposed to air, and it would generate far above any other biome besides mountains.

This biome would be shaped like end islands, and it would be made up almost entirely of dirt that's colored white in this biome, and it ISN'T a new block, it's just what the dirt looks like in this biome. Calcite also generates in blobs occasionally. There's also a special kind of grass that grows on the dirt that's white, and that IS a new block like mycelium.

The biome would only have sheep spawn and phantoms spawn at night, regardless of if you've slept for 3 days or not. The sheep can eat the white grass, making them drop 3-5 wool when sheared instead of 1-3 when they eat normal grass.

EDIT: I didn't mean for the title to say wool, sry

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 03:32 PM PDT

I think it would be cool. BTW, in case yall didn't know, on Bedrock edition, the wither explodes when he dies, and that explosion can do lots of damage.

Void serpents: a new end mob for ranged players and for food.

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 06:29 AM PDT

The void serpent is like a giant snake thing. It spawns in the sky or uncommonly below you. It can slither up or to the side. It usually spawns on empty end islands to give those islands content. The void serpent is neutral and once provoked by being attacked, it will fight back by shooting dragons breath. Its first drop some kind of food probably like a meat and it will drop it in large quantities. The second drop drops 80% of the time and is dragon scales. Dragon scales are razor sharp and can be used to craft a special dragon scale arrow. These arrows can go faster. And drop less. They also pierce more. The recipe is that of a normal arrow but you replace the flint with scale. You need to kill the serpent with bows and arrows meaning you need skill in hitting the skinny enemies out of the sky and you use that skill for arrows that require less skill to land hits. They can't be farmable. So it's like you work really hard to work less hard later. It will encourage people to use range more because people will definitely use this. It also adds content to the end but more progression for ranged is the best part.

    Cut stone blocks

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 06:39 AM PDT

    Cut stone blocks

    Why?

Cut copper looks nice because of the pattern on it. The block is divided in 8 mini blocks that form the block itself. It would be nice to see these patterns on other blocks.

    crafting and looks:

    Cut andesite.

The cut blocks would be: the already existing cut copper blocks and it's stages, cut andesite, cut granite, cut diorite, cut blackstone, cut deepslate and cut stone. Of course they will have stairs and slabs.

The new blocks would be made of their polished variants, for 4 polished blocks you would get 4 cut blocks.

Be able to breed a zombie horse.

    Posted: 06 Jul 2021 10:18 AM PDT

Currently the zombie horse exists in the game without any way of spawning it in survival without commands. I suggest that you can breed a normal horse with a skeleton horse to be able to obtain one. This mechanic already exists with the horse and donkey being able to be breed together to get a mule, so I don't think this is too much of a stretch.
