    Weekly Update Day!

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 07:19 PM PDT

Today is the first Update Day!

Every Saturday, we give users access to the Update flair. This gives them the freedom to post suggestion lists, which are normally prohibited by Rule 5.

There are some important rules to be aware of:

    • Suggestion lists must have the Update flair. Those without this flair will be removed for breaking Rule 5.

    • Suggestion lists must maintain the same theme. An End update suggestion would be fine, but a post with someone's top 10 general additions would not.

    • Suggestion lists must be of high quality. Be detailed; thoroughly explain the purpose and place of the features you suggest. This flair has a higher quality standard than others. Posts that are deemed vague or low-quality will be removed.

    Creative Inventory Overhaul (with images)

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 12:42 AM PDT

    Creative Inventory Overhaul (with images)

The creative inventory no doubt needs an overhaul so I want to suggest how it can be reorganized.

The creative inventory that we currently have has 9 tabs for the blocks and items in the game; Building Blocks, Decoration Blocks, Redstone, Transportation, Miscellaneous, Foodstuffs, Tools, Combat, and Brewing.

I tweaked the tabs in my version of the creative inventory. I removed some tabs and added new ones as well. I also moved some blocks and items to other tabs.

There are 10 tabs in my version of the creative inventory. Let's start with the Building Blocks.

    Building Blocks

As you can see, this tab includes every full block in the game (except the ones with functionality). I used the original Building Blocks tab to organize this.

I actually organized these blocks by group. The groups are natural stone, ground covers, soil, planks, logs, wood, ores, ore blocks, copper blocks, quartz blocks, bricks, sandstone, prismarine, purpur. obsidian, sponge, fungus blocks, gourds, farm blocks, leaves, coral blocks, glass, wool, concrete, concrete powder, terracotta, glazed terracotta, and infested blocks.

I put the multi-colored blocks at the very bottom of the tab so that the player can easily access them just by scrolling to the bottom.

The next tab is Semi-building Blocks.

    Semi-building Blocks

Semi-building blocks are the counterparts of some of the building blocks which are stairs, slabs, fences, and walls. The reason I separated them from the building blocks tab is that these are only supporting blocks. I couldn't move these blocks to the decoration blocks because they aren't entirely for decoration. They're in between building blocks and decoration blocks so I gave them a tab of their own: the Semi-building Blocks.

I organized them according to their usefulness to the majority of the players.

And yes, the next tab is Decoration Blocks.

    Decoration Blocks

So, this is the Decoration Blocks tab. I once again organized these blocks according to their usefulness and the multi-colored blocks being at the very bottom. So, we have normal decor at the top, utility blocks at the middle, and the multi-colored ones at the bottom of the tab. Yes, I included the ominous banner on this one.

Where are the plants? Well, I gave them a tab of their own; the Plants tab.

    Plants

I separated the plants from the decoration blocks tab because I thought it doesn't fit in with the rest of the decoration blocks. So, yeah we have the land plants, water plants, seeds, corals (which aren't really plants), and the alien plants with some tweaks here and there like the fungi, the wart, and the wither rose.

    Yes, Redstone tab time.

    Redstone

It's basically the current redstone tab that we have with some tweaks. I moved the rails and the minecarts here because they are associated with redstone in many ways. We have the signal transmitters, machines, supporting blocks, rails, carts, activators, and doors.

    Moving on, the Items tab.

    Items

The creative inventory used to have an items tab but then they removed it. In my version of the creative inventory, I brought them back with some improvements. I organized them similarly to how the miscellaneous tab is organized. In my version, we have the ore items, misc items, mob drops, potion ingredients, discs, banner patterns, dyes, fireworks, and firework stars.

I added the potion ingredients here because they're items, too. I also added firework and firework star colors so that the player can easily access true fireworks.

The nether star isn't with the mob drops because I felt it's such a valuable item and the fact that it's dropped by a boss mob, not just a regular mob so I decided to put it next to the dragon's breath which is also obtained from a boss.

    Next, Foodstuffs!

    Foodstuffs

It's very similar to the foodstuffs tab that we have now but this has the milk and the suspicious stew (it should give you random effects between uses).

So, we have fruits, vegetables, baked goods, liquids, cake (I separated the cake from the baked foods because it is consumed differently), meat, fish, and harmful food.

    What else is edible? Potions!

    Potions

This is like the brewing tab but without the ingredients and the glass bottle. It also has the tipped arrows. So, yes this is the Potions tab. The beneficial potions are always first in a category of potions (splash, lingering, etc.) with the harmful ones at the last.

Where did I put the glass bottle? In the Equipment tab!

    Equipment

This tab contains every weapon, tool, and armor in the game as well as the books that are used to enchant them. This tab also includes the container items and the boats. I separated the containers from their respective tabs because they ARE tools that are used in containing such liquid or items. The boats are here, too, because you use them during your travel so they act as a tool too.

    And the last tab: Mobs

    Mobs

The tab that contains the items used to spawn mobs. I gave these items a tab of their own because these items have a unique property and that these are only accessible in creative mode.

These spawn eggs are alphabetically arranged so that you can find your desired mob easily (just like in the current creative inventory we have).

I hope that this somehow comes to the minds of the devs. They can re-arrange the creative inventory in like a polishing update or whatever. The creative inventory is a mess right now.

I know this may become controversial to the players who are used to in the current creative inventory that we have. Despite this, I'd like to hear your thoughts about my suggestion!

    :)

    Curse of Rusting / Hydrophobia

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 12:41 AM PDT

    A new curse enchantment:

"Curse of Rusting" or "Hydrophobic" or "Oxidizing" or "Corroding"

Inspired by Endermen that take damage in water

If gear has this curse and is in a player's inventory, the player will continually take extra damage while underwater regardless of oxygen level or a conduit. The gear itself will also continuously take damage when the player is underwater.

I imagine it being found on gear from sunken pirate ships or buried treasure chests.

    Ocean Dimension

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 07:02 PM PDT

    Ocean Dimension

There's only 3 Dimensions in the game, Nether, Overworld and the End, So i wanted it to be another mini-dimension!, It's called the Deep Seas

    General

You can unlock the Ocean Dimension Portal by Defeating all 3 Elder Guardians, The Portal will spawn at random places in the Ocean Monument, Once you enter you will enter a World where it's only water, you can't reach the surface for any air so you'll have to bring air pockets, conduits or turtle caps in the Ocean Dimension.

    Mobs

So the mobs will be general aquatic mobs (fishes, Axolotls, Squids, Glow Squids, drowned but also guardians and elder guardians now spawn anywhere in the Dimension) and a new mob called a Sea Dragon, It Lurks everywhere in the world and there's one in a 50,000 Block radius, Once you go near it you will see a boss health bar,

    Image of Sea Dragon :

It's just a reference not a exact copy

It will have the same health as a Ender Dragon and same attacks as a guardian but more powerful, It also gives a effect called "Bubble Degeneration" where it decreases your bubbles 2x faster

    Structures

Ocean Monuments will spawn anywhere in the world even Ocean Ruins, Shipwrecks, Coral Reefs, and a new Structure called "Ocean Cities" It's similiar to End Cities but with prismarine and sea lanterns and no End Ship, They form a wall and then there's buildings in the walls a new mob spawns in these Ocean Cities called "Ocean Knights"

A Image of Ocean City :

again, Not a exact copy, just a reference.

    Ocean Knights :

(Taken from minecraft story mode) they will only be 2 Blocks tall and obviously a few changes to prevent copying, They wield a Diamond Axe to attack you

Inside the Ocean City there will be a huge sphere in the middle of the walls, it's covered in 3 Layers, Dark Prismarine, Prismarine then Obsidian, once your in you will see alot of gold blocks and 5 diamond blocks with a Ocean Knight guarding it (This particular ocean knight has a Trident)

    Loot

The Loot in the Ocean City will be :

    Prismarine Shards
    Prismarine Crystals
    Sea Lanterns

    Cooked Cod
    Cooked Salmon
    Tropical Fish
    Bucket of Axolotl
    Bucket of Cod
    Bucket of Salmon
    Bucket of Pufferfish
    Pufferfish

    Advancements

A New Advancement tree will be called "The Deep Seas" You unlock it by Defeating an Elder Guardian

    Advancements :

1.) The Terror of the Seas
How to get : Look at the Sea Dragon
    Image : Sea Dragon

2.) The City in the Middle of the Citadel
How to get : Enter a Ocean City
    Image : Prismarine Lantern

    3.) Explorer of the Seas

Baby sheep should eat less grass

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 07:11 AM PDT

Seriously, I once noticed this when I was playing on my world. There little dingbats eat grass every 7-15 seconds! I don't know if that's the case with Java, since I play on bedrock. Now, why am I suggesting this? Well, if you put a baby sheep anywhere on land and just give it a few minutes, it'll look like a decayed biome but still somewhat alive (if you get what I mean). I know this maybe was added for realism but it's seriously annoying seeing how some pieces of land have no grass on them and how long it takes to grow back.

We should be able to put several keys for each control.

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 08:05 AM PDT

The title says almost everything :D The only thing that maybe needs to be clarified is that you don't have to press all the keys to do the action. For example, if you set left click and y for the attack/break control, if you press one of the keys, it will activate the control. I think it could be very helpful in some cases ;)

Minecraft: The Beginning and the End

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 12:59 PM PDT

Minecraft's always getting updated, so why not make an update that covers Minecraft as a whole? An update that focuses on the beginning, and the end? An update that could add so many things the community is excited for, or has been begging for.

But what would be in such an update? Well, it's quite self-explanatory, which is part of what makes this hypothetical update so great.

For the beginning, two things could, and should, happen. 1: The existing overworld biomes should be updated and 2: Archeology should be implemented.

The biome updates could consist of the losing biomes or mobs from Minecon's past. Such as the savanna, the swamp, and the moobloom. But it could also introduce updates to biomes that haven't even been announced yet. Like an update to the dark oak forest, or mushroom fields.

The archeology system is just a given with this one. It was announced in 2020, it's got to come eventually, and this kind of update would be perfect for it.

Finally, the end portion: What would this consist of? How about an update to the end dimension. The end is so incredibly bland compared to the rest of the game, it needs some polishing. Maybe snatch some features from that dungeons DLC, or make up new ones entirely! The possibilities are endless!(pun definitely intended)

The Beginning and the End would be a perfect Minecraft update. It could update existing features, and add new ones entirely. All while adding things the community has been waiting for, for years.

    hooking enchant

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 06:27 AM PDT

this enchant would be possible to apply on meele weapons, it's simply a reverse knockback, that also means it cannot be combined with regular knockback

the pulling effect would only work when the target is +2 blocks away and the effect is nerfed by knockback resistance

it would have just 2 levels: 1st level disables knockback and 2nd level slightly pulls your opponent

in pvp you have a choice between a more offensive or defensive ability
in pve you have an advantage over ranged mobs, but you have to be more careful when fighting close-range mobs

maybe to not make it too overpowered or annoying, it would be one of those "special attacks" that require you to have a fully charged attack (i'm talking about those experimental pvp snapshots)

    Secret Snapshots Items

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 02:20 PM PDT

One of the primary things that makes Minecraft so fun when you first start playing is the novelty, the mystery and the satisfaction of discovering something. This was especially fun back when Secret Friday Updates were a thing.

So I think that with every new snapshot, there should be at least one new mob, block or item that isn't mentioned on the website or found in the creative menu. Something a player can only get by exploring or experimenting in a crafting table. Maybe these secret features could be something unrelated to the current update like a common suggestion from this subreddit or just something fun and random.

This would make Minecraft extra fun, because there would always be something to be discovered. Players like MrBeast might even make challenges and games around it. Minecraft would also remain popular for a long time.

For these reasons, I believe that secret snapshot updates would add the mystery and novelty to keep Minecraft always fun. I hope that if someone from Mojang is reading this, they will take it into deep consideration and also have a great day.

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 03:08 AM PDT

    Basically the title.

I know you'd shouldn't be able to put shulker boxes in a shulker box because then you can have infinite inventory space, but empty shulker boxes should be allowed. They don't have items in them so you don't have infinite inventory space.

This could be useful if you have a shulker box in your enderchest with empty shulkers dooti can just grab one if you need it and don't have to craft it.

most people are not great at potion brewing and usually go have to look at a guide on google or bing to find out how to make it. so i know its in vanilla tweaks and stuff but Brewing stand gui should exist and be like crafting/furnace gui. itll most likely be more useful than the other 2 guides

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 11:53 PM PDT

    Add Anglerfish.
They should spawn deep in underground water, and be passive (or neutral) towards players, although they could fight axolotls and attack fish.
(In real life, Anglerfish wouldn't take on humans, as they are far too large prey.)
They could also emit a very dim light.
They should also be fairly rare to encounter.

    Mini-dimensions/Official Packs should be added.

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 08:42 AM PDT

**Effects on Minecraft and Minecraft Community**

So I know what people are going to say that something like a bunch more dimensions will dilute the game of its "vanilla-polish" but.......I totally agree with you and don't want that to happen.

Instead of being forced to opt in into having these dimensions instead what mojang could do is create behavior packs/resource packs/official mods/official addons/words that contain a well made dimension for us players to enjoy.

This would do a few things, give players more things to do, possibly cause another period of time where minecraft becomes da shit again and finally allows mojang to do more experimental content without having to added directly to the game/this means features people really like from these mini-dimensions.

Now to cover the people who would be pissed that Mojang would waste their time working on lil mini-dimensions and packs that wouldn't be part of the base game I have one thing to say.........Minecraft is a multi-million dollar franchise those guys are probably working slow because either A. they don't want new people to work with them/to teach (sort of valid but bad for us) B. are working slowly because they need to get everything approved by higher ups C. Merch needs time to be worked on so even the most boring new mob will take a while to make D. Idk. There is another option though which is give modders the proper tools to make new dimensions (and just better tools for bedrock modding) or use the marketplace creators (then give a massive overall to that horrible thing).

The Actual Content That Should be Added

Well we have all sort of options now.

So of course a fan favorite would be an official aether dimension with all the stuff that was in the classic version of the mod and maybe some more things. This would be Mojang's way of essentially high-fiving mod creators and the community. It would be a massive pr boost plus a lot of fun to see what could be done/what would be done.

Now for something more out there how about a dimension pack I call "Worlds+". So essentially the three new dimensions would all be based on the three base dimensions in the game i.e. the overworld, nether and end. But these new dimensions would do a massive spin on them, things like some new mobs, some decoration blocks and some items, and finally some bosses. Of course the new + dimensions should have new biome layouts and structures. Each dimension could also have three new bosses per dimension, maybe boss inspired by the witherstorm for nether+, a boss made out of crystals for the end+ and to be even more experimental a boss that is a dungeon that needs the player to break certain blocks to deplete its health (I would go on but nah)

The final dimension should be......a cave dimension. It would fit perfectly with the recent addition since the caves and cliffs update is the most recent one and custom dimensions feature was added recently as well. I mean with this dimension you could have actually interesting mineshafts, little digging quarries filled with new pickaxes and other things. Hell maybe make it so torches barely work and the player must carry a lamp on them that must be filled with oil (found only in this dimension). The possibilities are endless.

So to finish this off Mojang do this or don't I ain't Microsoft.

    Passive Sharks

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 11:50 AM PDT

There should be sharks, but they should be passive. Irl sharks dont hurt people its just there are a lot of harmful stereotypes. This would help remove the stereotypes. Sharks never actively hunt humans irl, unlike polar bears, but polar bears are in the game. SHark attacks happen because the shark mistakes people for food, and they are rarer than winning the lottery. Also, sharks are endangered, and often killed in bycatch and by the cruel shark fin trade, so this would help raise awareness for that.

Bedrock should have some improvements to gui

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 06:26 AM PDT

Crafting, inventory, all that stuff is simple to get over with if you play Java. Since you have shift, ctrl, etc. For example, double tapping a hotbar slot makes the item being thrown out. Or maybe holding to craft items using all the resources at once instead of just clicking multiple times. It would make bedrock much simpler.

    Please suggest things make sense

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 03:30 AM PDT

A lot of people understand the concept of realism and balancing very wrong, Yes some mechanics and traits will set the hardness of the game but just think, Youre suggesting a new dimension and saying players shouldnt be able to place water. So they cant live that easly in this new dimension, why? Why putting water to this new dimension is forbidden? Ä°n nether you cant put water because it is hot. Otherwise there no any sensefull reason to why players cant put any water source to this new dimension, its just very strects and make no sense You suggested a powerfull item require a part of a mob, okey this isnt a bad idea but why. Why feather of a parrot make a elytra faster, why eye of a spesific boss can make your sword more powerfull why you need that rare item for upgrade your stuff? This make no sense and a forcibly added feature just so your idea not be op… yes minecraft is a fantastical game and you cant put realism to everyting but for stuff to make sense and feel organic you need realism, even a little bit.

    Copper Hopper

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 12:21 PM PDT

What if they implemented a copper Hopper, difference being it only has one or maybe 2 slots of "storage" or whatever you want to call it, but it'd transfer items say maybe twice as fast as a regular hopper, and could also transfer items upwards instead of just laterally or downwards. My thought behind this is hoppers are quite slow but due to them being around for so long I don't ever see them getting an update making them faster, so why not just make a variant, the copper Hopper, instead?
