    FISH BREEDING MECHANICS

Right-clicking a Cod, Salmon, Pufferfish, or Tropical Fish with raw Kelp will put the fish into love mode. Right-clicking a nearby fish of the same type will cause them to swim towards each other and breed. One of the two fish will then find the nearest available block (will be described below), and place fish eggs of their respective type on top of it. The eggs will then hatch into baby fish after 30 to 60 seconds. Baby fish do not drop any EXP or items, and will grow into adult fish after 10 minutes. Feeding them raw Kelp will cause them to grow up 10% faster.

    WHERE DO FISH LAY EGGS?

The criteria for available blocks is as follows. The block must be underwater and surrounded by at least 8 source blocks of water. Additionally, the block must be one of the following: Dirt, Gravel, Sand, Red Sand, Clay, Prismarine, Dark Prismarine, Prismarine Bricks, Sea Lantern, Wet Sponge, or Dried Kelp Block.

    COLLECTING AND PLACING FISH EGGS

Fish eggs will drop nothing if broken without Silk Touch. Any Silk Touch tool can collect them. They can be placed on land or underwater, but they will not hatch if they are placed on land. Like Turtle Eggs, fish eggs will break if you or another mob steps on them. Wearing Feather Falling boots will allow you to walk on them while keeping them intact.

    OBTAINING AND EATING ROE

Fish Eggs can be rinsed in a Cauldron filled with water (the cauldron must be under a campfire or soul campfire for this to work) to produce Roe. Wandering Traders and Fishermen Villagers also sell Roe at a high price, with Pufferfish and Tropical Roe being the most expensive. Roe, when eaten, restores 1🍖 and 5 saturation. Each type of Roe also has a special effect when eaten.

    • Cod Roe causes your breath to replenish instantly (when out of water) for 30 seconds.
    • Salmon Roe increases your swimming speed by 60% (vertical and horizontal) for 20 seconds.
    • Pufferfish Roe renders the consumer unable to obtain status effects (good and bad) for 15 seconds. It will not remove effects that are already on the player, however.
    • Tropical Roe will cause all Cod, Salmon, Pufferfish, Squid, Glow Squid, and Tropical Fish to circle around you and follow you for 40 seconds.

    TEXTURES

I have based these textures off the real color of the eggs in real life, with some creative liberties taken here and there. Look at these with a grain of salt (or rather, a whole ocean full). Here is a link to the Imgur™ album with all the textures included.

TLDR; Fish can be bred with Kelp. They lay eggs, which can be collected with Silk Touch. Fish eggs can be rinsed in a water-filled Cauldron under a Campfire to make Roe. Roe restores 1🍖 and 5 saturation, and have special effects when eaten. Cod Roe causes your breath to replenish instantly out of water for 30 seconds. Salmon Roe increases your swimming speed for 20 seconds. Pufferfish Roe makes you immune to status effects for 15 seconds, but will not remove effects that are already on the player. Tropical Roe will cause all Cod, Salmon, Pufferfish, Squid, Glow Squid, and Tropical Fish to circle around you for 40 seconds.

If you have any ideas on how to balance this post, or if you have anything you think should be added to the post, I'd love to hear it in the comments. All criticism is welcome, as long as it is constructive.

EDIT: Title and Imgur Album should say roe instead of caviar.

Sweeping edge shouldn’t work on pets like Axolotls and Dogs

    Posted: 02 Aug 2021 08:03 AM PDT

When you fight mobs with your dogs or axolotls, it is pretty common to accidentally hit your pets or kill them due to sweeping edge. This makes pets less useful, and is a major inconvenience. If sweeping edge didn't work on them anymore, it would solve this issue.

Phantoms can't spawn within range of a lit beacon

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 08:52 PM PDT

Gameplay-wise, it allows end game players to phantom-proof in their outdoor bases. Phantoms would still be a problem when exploring, but home is safe.

Lore wise, bright lights seem like a good way to stave off insomnia. Hallucinations are stronger in the dark.

"drawing_speed" attribute for bows, crossbows and tridents

    Posted: 02 Aug 2021 10:01 AM PDT

Similar to how the "attack_speed" attribute for melee weapons makes you attack faster or slower, "drawing_speed" would make you draw ranged weapons faster. The number would similarly refer to how many full-charge arrows/tridents you can fire per second (the standard bow as it is would have a drawing_speed of 1, a crossbow would have 0.8, and a trident would have a slightly higher one). A weapon with a drawing_speed of 20 or higher would be able to rapid-fire by holding down right click.

    Make deep ocean deeper

    Posted: 02 Aug 2021 04:40 AM PDT

Title says all. Since everything in minecraft can now get deeper, making ocean more like ocean should be easier. 30 blocks isn't that deep, I wish I couldn't see the bottom like in actual oceans.

Holding a spyglass and a map at the same time increases discovery range.

    Posted: 02 Aug 2021 12:56 PM PDT

By putting the map in your off hand and the spyglass in your main (or vice versa) the map should be uncovered maybe at least twofold. There's probably suggestions for the spyglass already since it's a new tool but I was thinking of this when trying to uncover the largest map size in a large biomes world.

Packed and Blue Ice Bricks (w/textures)

I think it may not have the biggest influence in the game but really nice use in the game.

Also maybe if they would add this then they can maybe add something like an ice castle structure :P

    Iron guards! Give them commands!

    Posted: 02 Aug 2021 01:34 PM PDT

An iron golem created by the player (by placing 4 iron blocks in a T shape with a carved pumpkin on top) should be able to be given instructions by right clicking on them with your hand.

Some of the instructions given could be 'guard', that would make the golem stay in one spot until an enemy came within a certain radius of it, when an enemy came near, it would then go, kill the enemy, then return to its post.

Another instruction could be 'follow', that would make the iron golem follow the player around and protect them from any mobs that came near.

Tell me what you think about this idea and be sure to tell me any other instruction ideas you may have! Thank you for reading my post!

Wandering trader biome depends to his trader & other

    Posted: 02 Aug 2021 11:15 AM PDT

So let's start that I dont mean that the traders when spawned for example on forest will sell you oak saplings or on flower forest flowers. I mean that whenever he spawns he will sell the most useful things for the situation (maybe not every time :P) So how his sell slots will look, there will be 4 slots with the things that usually they have and 1 for the situation and 1 slot for things that may be helpful o the biome For example, when trader spawns when you're high up in the new mountain biomes and you don't have leather boots, then he'll sell them in the situation slot. In the biome slot he'll have a chance for campfire, spyglass, cooked cod or salmon, bundle and compass. If you're underground and trader spawns then he game checks what items you don't have, when you don't have torches then it will check if you have coal and sticks, if not then he'll sell torches. If you don't have any wood then he'll sell it. Same with food items and pickaxes, he'll only sell iron unechanted ofc. In the biome slot he'll sell most of times torches, wood or coal if under Y 0. I think you get the idea now. Also I think they should add like a underground castle or anything that wpuld be rare as woodland mansion. I know it is about traders but it would be cool if when underground the trader spawns he could also sell maps to these castle structures to make them findeable because it would be pretty extreamly rare to find without them. What do you think?

Screenshots taken in-game could be used to replace the world thumbnails in the world selection menu.

    Posted: 02 Aug 2021 01:23 PM PDT

I've seen other people suggest being able to access the screenshot folder from within the game, but not this. This change would allow the player to choose a screenshot from the world they want to represent instead of the game periodically picking one for them. These could be changed out at will or the player could choose to revert to letting the game decide again.

One detail can be that the thumbnail could only be changed out for a screenshot for the world being represented, requiring the player to spend some time in that world instead of borrowing pictures from other worlds.

It's a small change, but it could be a helpful visual aid to a player searching through their worlds to find which one they would like to play in, without having to spawn in and leave again. It would let the player have some limited personalization in the menu, which is pretty standard outside resource packs; I haven't seen anyone else say this before, and I just came up with this idea last night while playing Pocket Edition.

    Add variation to mob deaths.

    Posted: 02 Aug 2021 12:56 PM PDT

When a minecraft mob dies, it falls on its left side all the time for all types of mobs. This could be improved by having quadrupedal mobs sometimes fall on their right side and letting bipedal mobs (including players) fall in any direction depending on how they die, so attacking bipedal mobs from the back causing them to often fall on their stomach and attacking them from the front causes them to often fall on their back. The type of weapon could affect what direction they fall as well: since swords have a "sweeping strike" it causes bipedal mobs to fall on their side more often while an axe uses a "cleaving strike" so it would cause bipedal mobs to fall backwards more often.

    Charred Wood!

    Posted: 02 Aug 2021 01:50 PM PDT

Charred Wood would be obtainable from logs/planks that are burned by a fire. The wood will be normal, and when burned for a few seconds, become charred. If you put out the fire, you get the charred version of the burned wood.

Appearance: The appearance of charred logs/planks would be monotone, much like ash. This would be a good building block. It would be grayish black, similar to acacia but more monotone and without the red interior.

This would be a decoration block, unless someone in the replies can think of a good functionality for it. I'll update this post if I get any more ideas for it.

Carpets placed on glazed terracotta take on the pattern of the terracotta, but keep the color of the carpet

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 09:02 PM PDT

Magenta terracotta has a bright pink arrow. Placing green carpet on top would change the carpet into a green arrow. This would allow for some wonderful carpet patterns without flooding the creative menu.

Each color of terracotta would also have a grayscale texture in the game assets. The carpet would take on that texture, but colored the color of the carpet. Sort of like how grass is gray, but takes on the color of the biome. This means Mojang doesn't need to make 256 new textures, and resource pack creation is easy.

Villagers don’t hook up to job sites that are being used by players

    Posted: 02 Aug 2021 02:47 PM PDT

I'm sure that we've all had this problem. You want a villager to take a certain job, but they keep going into your house to use your blast furnaces, brewing stands, smokers, etc. My solution would be if a blast furnace, barrel, smoker, brewing stand, or any other villager jobsites that can have blocks in them has any sort of block in it(even just a piece of dirt) villagers wont link to it.

    Amethyst Yeeter (Placeholder name)

    Posted: 02 Aug 2021 07:10 AM PDT

Geodes and amethyst shards are currently not very useful, apart from being able to craft spyglasses. This new mob will make the player want to discover more geodes and mine more amethyst shards.

Exactly one Amethyst Yeeter generates in each geode. It is neutral to the player and hostile to undead mobs, throwing amethyst shards at them that do 4 hearts of damage regardless or armor and 10 extra durability damage to armor. It consumes one amethyst shard in its inventory per attack, and you need to feed the Yeeter more once the shards run out. The thrown shards have an 80% chance of dropping themselves when they hit the ground and 20% chance to shatter. They do not drop if they hit an entity.

The player needs to go back to the geode to collect shards as ammo for the Yeeter, so it's not too overpowered. (Actually, tell me in the comments if this is overpowered or not)

The Yeeter looks like a small purple block with four legs. It moves around, but only in a 2 by 2 block area. To move it, you must drag it with a lead or fishing rod.

Dispensers can now shoot amethyst shards as a projectile.

Make bats more interesting and allow them to find dripstone caves!

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 10:14 PM PDT

I've seen several others make suggestions regarding bats having a use, but they never really go farther than "feed bat a glow berry and it finds caves", so why not give it a shot?

First of all, I feel like giving the bat a straightforward mechanic is a bit boring, so let's try and spice it up a bit. I do like the idea of feeding a bat glow berry, so we'll stick with that, but just feeding it doesn't guarantee it'll help you. Upon feeding a bat a glow berry, there's a 50/50 chance that it'll help you, or that it'll become hostile. You can make this a 100% chance of them helping you if you are able to crouch and sneak up to a bat while it's upside down in its resting position, and feed it a glow berry. If the bat you feed happens to become hostile, its eyes will glow red, similar to other neutral mobs, and it will begin to fly after you and attempt to bite you. If you are bitten by a bat, you will be given the "Bat Fever" effect permanently, which removes 2 of your hearts while under the effect.

In order to heal yourself of the effect, you need a special consumable, not just a bucket of milk. In order to craft this special consumable, "Miner's Stew", you'll need to gather a bowl, a glow lichen, a glow berry, and a red mushroom. Drinking the stew will remove the Bat Fever effect, but also results in the nausea effect for several seconds.

If a bat helps you, it will have the glowing effect as to make it easier to follow, and begin traveling to the nearest dripstone cave, removing the glowing effect from itself a few seconds after it enters the biome. This gives the dripstone caves a proper way to find them, as the lush caves have azalea trees, so why not show the dripstone caves the same love? Making the dripstone caves more useful is an entirely different issue, but I think this makes bats a much more worthwhile mob to find.

    Drowned should use fishing rods

    Posted: 02 Aug 2021 05:01 AM PDT

The drowned mob has a chance to spawn with a fishing rod in java so how about giving the rod a use and allowing the mob to rod players to the bottom of the ocean, this offers a new challenge for the early game of Minecraft and can could have some really intense moments and kinda tells the player to make a boat and stay weary of the ocean.
